We've got Cam!
Kyle (Miami)
What was it like being honored with a statue in Auburn this past weekend?
Cam Newton (3:09 PM)
It's UNBELIEVABLE!! It's something I will always be able to share with my kids, their kids. Posters and all of that is cool, but for you to have a statue, that takes the cake of all the accolades I've had. It's another reason that I love Auburn and always will.
Tommy (Winston-Salem, NC)
What's up Killa Cam?! I'd like to know, what do you think your rating SHOULD be in Madden 13?
Cam Newton (3:10 PM)
What you think my rating should be? If it's not what you expect it to be, I want you to let EA Sports know!
Dave (NJ)
I love the video. Who came up with the idea and who was helping you make it?
Cam Newton (3:12 PM)
It's all me, man. All me. I know there were some things being made of making a CAMpaign for Madden 13. I've seen everything from the start of it to the finals. I've seen so many videos. Everyone sees them on SportsNation and everywhere. I look at them and I'm scratching my head and I'm thinking it's cool that the videos are there, but I don't know if any of them can play the game. I'm a big video gamer. I really enjoy playing video games. It was said that I wasn't doing anything for my campaign. I don't have a Twitter account and this was something I could do straight from the heart.
Nile X (Akron, Ohio)
How many nicknames do you actually have?
Cam Newton (3:12 PM)
I have personal nicknames that I have and go by. It's funny to have a lot of aka this and aka that. Do you have another nickname I can add?
Danny C (NY)
What was your favorite moment from your rookie season?
Cam Newton (3:14 PM)
Just taking the whole season in. Sometimes in life it's overlooked the things that you cherish. I just would take time out right before a game or right after and sit back and look around and take it in. Where I came from and what I'm expected to be. Right before the game, looking around at the crowd and observing and having a moment of not believing where I came from. The fans we have I feel like are yearning for success and wins just like me.
Karrun (San Marcos, TX)
Cam, we all know about the Madden Curse. Are you going to be the one to break the curse when you're on the cover this season?
Cam Newton (3:15 PM)
I'm not here to say the Curse. I'm going to focus on what I can control, which is the best football player I can be. A lot of work goes into it. I'm preparing to be the best I can be.
Jeff (RI)
Cam, I always see guys doing charity work in the offseason. I know you're pretty active with that stuff, have you been doing anything or have plans for later this summer?
Cam Newton (3:16 PM)
I am. Actually, it's funny that you ask. I don't want to mention the school, but I am partnering with a school. As a part of my foundation, I have adopted a school. I just left a school working with a couple of kids. We were talking about having a nickname. When I came home to talk to my pops and we came up with "MOB" -- My Other Brother. Their other brother is me.
Chris Leon (Destin, FL)
Cam, Great Job on the Video calling out Megatron! Do you really think he'll play you? If i were you I'd try to set it up on live TV. I'm sure Sports Nation would love to have a live special with the two finalists!
Cam Newton (3:18 PM)
I really hope he does! This is not no joke, I would videostream it and tape it. This is for whoever, not just Megatron. We're good friends. But anyone can get in on it. Entertainers, sports guys, fans. PlayCam@CamNewton1.com to play me.
mike (greensboro)
Cam, do you do alot of running in your workouts or is it more weight training/circuit training?
Cam Newton (3:18 PM)
I think with this OTA starting back up, we've been doing a lot of running. When you're running you learn a lot about yourself. It's just hard work with some of those workouts. It's meant to be challenging. We've been doing a lot of running. But a little bit of both.
My Name's CAM Too (Nashville)
When I play Madden, I can't get my QB to 4000 passing yards, 700 rushing yards, and 35 TDs. How do I get my video game QB to be as good as a real life you?
Cam Newton (3:20 PM)
Go to the settings option and skills and change it from All-Madden, since you're not up to par and change it to rookie. Change the skill level of the game.....LOL.
Brian M. (Mint Hill, NC)
Cam... Last season I drove to Tampa with some friends and watched you dominate the Buc's and it was a great time. This season I plan to take another road trip to watch you play... what game would you prefer me and my crew to attend? Let me know and we will be there!
Cam Newton (3:21 PM)
I'm working hard for us to make that one game experience like the rest of the season. Whichever game you choose, just know that Cam Newton will be making an unbelievable effort and the rest of the team will be making an effort to make sure your road trip is not null and void.
Tyler Ezell (Charlotte,NC)
We all know you are the aceboogie in Madden. But what about Other sports games like NBA 2k12?
Cam Newton (3:22 PM)
When I saw video games, I really mean video games. Challenge from 2K to FIFA to UFC Fighter to Call of Duty. People are really underestimating my video gaming. My thumbs are official. In anything.
Nile X (Akron, Ohio)
Cam, what's the most points you've ever scored on someone playing Madden?
Cam Newton (3:23 PM)
Woo!...Man. I don't want to say. I remember one time in NCAA, I was in college and I put 100 points up on this dude, in five minute quarters. We were playing on Heisman. In Madden, it doesn't matter. I have games where I try to skunk 'em. Or sometimes we can't get to the end of the game because they quit. People will quit.
CJ (winston salem)
Mr Ace Boogie, LOL I was curious if you have any superstitious practices or tendencies that you do on game day or during the game. I know a lot of pro athletes have their little quirks that they do or believe in and was curious if you have any and what they are. PS Loved the video
Cam Newton (3:24 PM)
I have to have an iPod blasting my music with a playlist that is made the night before.
Cam Newton (3:24 PM)
Also, gameday is like I'm going into work. I can't come to gameday with shorts on or jeans. I have to dress like I'm going to work.
Cam Newton (3:24 PM)
Dress to impress.
Cam Newton (3:25 PM)
I don't want this campaign to be a publicity stunt, because it's not. I really enjoy the video game. This is a way for me to reach out to the fans and for me to connect with the fans. I haven't embraced Twitter yet, so all of the Twitter accounts out there with my name is not me. This is a way I feel like I can be hands on and have a connection with my fans.
Cam Newton (3:26 PM)
Stay posted on my Facebook to see my video posts of people that I play.
