Moderator (11:30 AM)
Thanks for joining Hector and Victor for their Week 13 Sunday chat. Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving weekend so far. Vic will start off answering your lineup questions, then Hector will follow with injury updates. Let's get started. ...
TJ (Whitewater, WI)
Who to start: Chad Johnson, Peter Warrick, McCardell, McCareins, or David Boston?
Victor the Predictor (11:32 AM)
I'd go with Johnson for sure, and then Boston as he's caught 16 passes for 221 yards and 3 TDs in past two home games with Flutie at QB. Then I'd rank them; McCardell, Warrick and McCareins.
Michigan Wolverines
Hey I have a QB problem, I'm debating who I should start this week. I have Mcnair (hurt), Vick(May not start), Leftwich (May be benched), Blake , and now Wright is of Free agency, Who do I start?
Victor the Predictor (11:35 AM)
Well, McNair is the obvious choice if you hear news by the lineup deadline that he could start. Since you probably won't, I'd lean to Wright over Blake.
Hector the Projector (11:37 AM)
Here's my take on the McNair QB situation. He practiced for the first time on Saturday and said he could play at 75 or 80 percent. I'd grab backup Billy Volek and then insert McNair into the lineup. If he's declared inactive, then go with Volek. If he's starting, then you're good to go.
Hector the Projector (11:38 AM)
There have been a few instances last season when he didn't practice the entire week, then played on Sunday. He dealt with quite a few injuries last year, and still played.
Lino Lakes, Minnesota
With the McNair situation should I risk it and start him or go with Kelly Holcomb? I am in 2nd in my league and a loss will drop me out of contention.
Victor the Predictor (11:39 AM)
I'll give my standard injury advice. You can't afford to have a dead spot in your lineup, especially at QB. Put in Holcomb and adjust only if you hear news on McNair. Hope Holcomb can do what Wright did last week vs. Seattle.
Hector the Projector (11:41 AM)
In my opinion, that is indeed the safest route to go if you don't own McNair's backup Billy Volek.
J-rod in Morris Plains NJ
I have 4 running backsto choose just one. Dillon, R. Johnson, J. Jackson, and T. Hambrick. What do you think?
Victor the Predictor (11:44 AM)
When in doubt at RB, I always go with the back that is sure to get the majority of carries and to get the goal-line carries. The one who most qualifies here is Jackson. I definitely would stay away from Hambrick: I project him at only two yards on three carries. ;)
BRAD MURFREESBORO,TN
I'VE GOT THE PICK OF THE LITTER WHEN IT COMES TO QB'S. WHICH TWO SHOULD I START FOR WEEK 13? BLEDSOE, FIEDLER, RATTAY, OR ANTHONY WRIGHT?
Victor the Predictor (11:45 AM)
Definitely Fiedler (Sorry, I couldn't resist, again). But among the others, your choice is Wright. Rattay is benched in favor of Garcia and the last time I saw Bledsoe throw a TD pass, I was wearing flare-bottom jeans and a velour v-neck. OK, that's what I wear every Sunday but still, it's been a long time for Bledsoe.
joe LA california
who is a better free agent pick up Marcus Robinson or Charles Lee?? Thank you so much.
Victor the Predictor (11:47 AM)
Probably Robinson. Lee is still only No. 3 on the depth chart in Tampa. Don't expect what you saw last week out of Robinson on a regular basis but Wright has to have confidence in him now to throw his way more.
Arthur Jacksonville, FL
Who should I start pennington or green and sharpe or shockey
Victor the Predictor (11:49 AM)
Green: The Chargers have given up 26 TD passes this year, way more than any other team. Sharpe: He's banged up but expected to play while Shockey may not.
Jameson (Englewood)
I am in a nice bind to have, do I start Kitna, McNabb or Culpepper?
Victor the Predictor (11:51 AM)
Culpepper is the top QB in fantasy. There are few situations if any, where I'd bench him.
dave canada
what's the status of clinton portis?
Victor the Predictor (11:52 AM)
Everything I've heard says he's good to go for this week.
Courtney (Grapevine, Tx.)
I am not sure who to play. Will Henry go or should I play Moe Williams?
Victor the Predictor (11:53 AM)
You gotta stick with Henry now that Williams has been replaced in the starting lineup with Michael Bennett.
Joe, Syracuse NY
What do you think about Moe Williams this week? My other option is Zach Crockett.
Victor the Predictor (11:55 AM)
You're hurtin'. Williams is a better choice as he'll get more touches than Crockett so you'll at least get something.
Troy, Santa Monica, CA
Wondering if you can help pick 2: Edge, Fred Taylor, Rudi or Corey?
Victor the Predictor (11:56 AM)
Edge and Taylor for sure. The other two are sharing, which I hear is nice if you're in kindergarten, but not in fantasy football.
Moderator (11:59 AM)
Vic would make a scary kindergarten teacher, though he'd mold them into good fantasy football owners and gamblers, teaching them the nuances of spreads and picking lineups. And I'm sure he'd teach them to share their winnings. Here's Hector now.
CB Grand Rapids, MI
What is the deal with Jeremy Shockey?
Hector the Projector (12:03 PM)
Shockey said he was ready to play on Monday night, but coach Jim Fassel made him inactive. Shockey was so angry that he went out and ran 50 full speed pass patterns and aggravated his partially torn PCL. He missed practice all week and is unlikely to play. He also admitted he made a bonehead move. Too bad because he probably would have played against Buffalo. Go with other options at TE. No reason to risk a zero in the box score.
Steve Shrewsbury, MA
What's the injury update on Darell Jackson?
Hector the Projector (12:06 PM)
Jackson practiced Friday and is expected to play despite a sore ankle. He's become the Seahawks No. 1 WR, leading them in catches, yards and receiving TDs. He had a problem with holding onto the catches, dropping eight passes in a three-week stretch before erupting for two TDs against the Ravens. He's a must start with Matt Hasselbeck flourishing in Seattle's offense. Mike Holmgren has opend the offense, so Jackson should see plenty of passes this Sunday.
Steve (Montville, NJ)
What's the latest on Shannon Sharpe? Should I play him or Boo Williams today?
Hector the Projector (12:09 PM)
Sharpe has torn rib cartilage and will have to play through tremendous pain, like Henry did earlier. Shapre will take a painkiller into his side before the game and that should help him play. Boo Williams is a great choice today, but Sharpe has been the main man for Plummer all season. I'd stick with Sharpe. Williams has only performed in one game.
Andy (Univ. of MD)
Pnemonia had got me down. A win this week gets me into the playoffs and I need a replacement for A Train. Should I go with C-Mart, Thomas Jones, Brock Forsey, or try and trade my backup QB, Jon Kitna for Marcel Shipp or maybe Travis Henry? My starting QB is Matt H-Beck.
Hector the Projector (12:16 PM)
Forsey is an excellent sleeper this week as he should see 15-plus carries. He had 56 yards and a TD in his Week 8 start against Detroit at home. He's not flashy and is a hard-nosed runner, perfect for the Bears' running system. The others share carries. I think Thomas will be back next week, so you should be fine at RB. But if you can pull off a trade for Henry for Kitna, I'd play Henry over Forsey, since you're trading from a position of strength.
SEAN (NYC)
Hey guys! Who would you start this week, Edgerrin James or Ladainian Tomlinson? Thanks!
Hector the Projector (12:17 PM)
Run-stuffer Ted Washington is back for NE, and I like Tomlinson's matchup with KC better than James' matchup with the Patriots. KC has allowed an average of 14 FFL points to the featured RB over the past three games.
Ben, NY
Is Forsey a better start than the likes of Rudi Johnson or either of the Redskins runningbacks?
Hector the Projector (12:21 PM)
Trung Canidate and Ladell Betts will be sharing carries and Rudi Johnson will likely take a backseat to Dillon in receiving carries. Forsey should see the bulk of the carries and goal-line calls. Of course, T.J. Duckett is a solid play this week against Houston's soft run defense.
Moderator (12:22 PM)
Here are a couple of significant inactives for Week 13: New England RB Antowain Smith and Carolina RB DeShaun Foster.
Hector the Projector (12:23 PM)
This definitely increases Kevin Faulk's value if you need a Nos. 2 or 3 RB for this week. Davis will receive nearly all the carries against a susceptible Eagles run defense.
Rich (Philly)
With shockey out should I play my backup clark, or pick williams up from free agency?
Hector the Projector (12:25 PM)
I believe Shockey hasn't been declared out yet, but I'd pick up Boo Williams. Marcus Pollard is returning from a knee injury this week, and he will eat into Dallas Clark's catches. If you're talking about Desmond Clark, I'd play Williams, too, over him. Donte' Stallworth and Michael Lewis won't likely play on Sunday, leaving the Saints thin at WR.
Jack, Rochester,MI.
Is Eddie George going to get the bulk of the carries Monday?, or is he going to share?
Hector the Projector (12:27 PM)
I'd expect George to be the full-time back as he'll likely be better down the stretch with his excellent conditioning. The Jets run defense isn't very good, and George will see 20-plus carries. He may not get a ton of yards, but he'll be given the scoring chances and could score two on Monday.
STEVEN MIAMI
Please let me know Edgerin James or Dominick Davis
Hector the Projector (12:30 PM)
I'd go with Domanick Davis. The Falcons allow the most fantasy points to RBs while the Patriots allow the seventh-fewest.
Robbie (Callie)
Would you pick up Boo Williams instead of Mili this week? Who do you think will post better numbers?
Hector the Projector (12:31 PM)
I'd stick with a proven guy like Mili. Rare for a TE, he can be the regular third option in Seattle's offense and be a primary one near the goal-line, too. Mike Holmgren includes the TE frequently, and Matt Hasselbeck follows that.
Bob (Dallas)
I've been burned by my QB's the last 4 weeks. Who do I start today....Brad Johnson or Marc Bulger? Also, which is my best bet at #3 receiver....Andre Davis, Eric Moulds or Deion Branch?
Hector the Projector (12:34 PM)
Definitely Bulger. He's back at home after a long road stretch. I'd go with Andre' Davis against Seattle's defense. Moulds is intriguing, but his groin injury limits his deep pass routes. Plus, Drew Bledsoe is shaking the after effects of a concussion. Branch is a nice option, but he's inconsistent.
Bob (Oklahoma)
Peyton Manning with sore elbow vs. New England or Jon Kitna vs. Pittsburg??
Hector the Projector (12:38 PM)
Manning is expected to be OK, but I like Kitna's matchup against the Steelers secondary over Manning against the Pats.
Max, Kansas City
At QB, McNair, Holcomb or Plummer?
Hector the Projector (12:39 PM)
Plummer should rebound against the Raiders, and adds rushing yards. He's the safest pick over Holcomb and McNair.
