Tony Jackson (6:07 PM)
Good afternoon everyone. Apologies for my late arrival. Traffic on the Harbor Freeway was a bit tough this afternoon

Like this Herrera kid...is he here to stay and if so as a starter or jack of all trades?
Tony Jackson (6:08 PM)
It's tough to imagine he's here to stay once all the guys on the DL start coming off the DL, but he's almost definitely here to stay at least until Mark Ellis is activated, and that isn't going to be for several weeks. If he continues to play the way is now, he could play himself into a permanent role here. Baseball history is full of great stories about guys who did that

Any update with Guierrer...how serious is the set back?
Tony Jackson (6:10 PM)
No idea how serious it is. It could be that the best course of action for now is to shut it down and let it heal completely before proceeding at all. We'll see.

Dee is struggling...do you get the feeling they will work through the growing pains or send him down?
Tony Jackson (6:11 PM)
I'm fairly sure they would've already sent him down if not for all the other injuries. It certainly does Dee no good to sit on the bench. He needs to be playing every day. But the Dodgers dont' have any other infielders to call up at this point, so he's here.

I am a little hesitant to jump on the Capuno bandwagon...is he this good or maybe a little lucky?
Tony Jackson (6:12 PM)
only time will tell. But like a lot of guys, he seems to be a better pitcher since Tommy John surgery. Experience probably also has something to do with it, especially with a guy who isn't overpowering. Those guys tend to learn a little more each year of their careers, as far as how to attack certain hitters and get the most out of what they have.

Many forget that the Dodgers, a few years ago, were only a few plays from the World Series. What would it take for the Dodgers to get back to that point? Is it another bat, pitcher, or a combination of both?
Tony Jackson (6:13 PM)
Given the sad state of the National League overall, this could be a World Series contender as it is currently constructed, especially once all these guys start coming off the DL. But I do expect the Dodgers to make a significant move at the trading deadline, most likely for an offensive player.
Alex (Anaheim)
Do you expect the Dodgers to win the division after this hot start?
Tony Jackson (6:14 PM)
Frankly, yes. I mean, barring a complete collapse. I'm not sure this team is bad enough to blow a six-game lead, and I'm not sure the rest of the N.L. West is good enough to overcome one.
Nick (La Verne)
Who do you see the Dodgers going after at the Trade Deadline? I think another starter and a bat. But who?
Tony Jackson (6:14 PM)
Tough to tell at this point. Way too far down the road

Tony i havent been to dodger stadium in a long time how much for the all you can eat section?
Tony Jackson (6:15 PM)
I must admit I don't know the answer to that

Any news on any potiential trades yet?
Tony Jackson (6:15 PM)
Again, too far down the road

What seems to be holding jerry sands back?
Tony Jackson (6:16 PM)
Probably an ability to adjust. Scouting reports tend to catch up with young players faster than young players catch up to scouting reports. They're probably pitching him differently this year. I do think he's going to be a solid big leaguer, not a star per se, but an everyday player.
Johnny S [via mobile]
Yo tony, do you think the dodgers will make it to the world series and if so, why?
Tony Jackson (6:17 PM)
Once you get to the playoffs, especially with the new format, it's a total crapshoot. The Dodgers will get to the playoffs. After that, impossible to predict what happens to them.
Chris Fiegler (Latham,NY)
What is the Worst Los Angeles Dodgers Team Ever in Over 50 years?
Tony Jackson (6:17 PM)
not sure off the top of my head, but there is a web site, retrosheet.org, where you can look it up easily, or if you have a Dodgers web site, check there. I think it was 1992, but I wouldnt' swear to it.
Zack Jerome (Oak Park, CA)
Any news on the Ethier extension? Seems like something to lock up just in that there's not going to be better available even if he wasn't playing out of his mind.
Tony Jackson (6:27 PM)
No news that I know of. I don't look for it to happen right away.
Tony Jackson (6:30 PM)
Going to wrap it up here. Thanks for your participation. See ya next time
