I know that Manning is the bell of the ball in Denver now, but as I follow the Broncos this off-season I am more attracted to the new look secondary. I am I crazy or is the Broncos secondary really looking better?
Bill Williamson (2:02 PM)
Yeha, it's better. Porter is an upgrade over Goodman and I like Adams.
Bill Williamson (2:02 PM)
Yeha, it's better. Porter is an upgrade over Goodman and I like Adams.
bullride (high school)
Is it unreasonable to think the Chiefs can make it to the Super Bowl this year?
Bill Williamson (2:03 PM)
I'm not sure if it is unreasonable, but they have to prove themselves first.
Michael wagonmaker (Houston, Texas)
Do you see any AFC West teams being interested with Colt McCoy now that he is on the trading block?
Bill Williamson (2:03 PM)
Where would he fit?
chad (denver)
Is there any market for DJ Williams? What do you see the Broncos doing with him?
Bill Williamson (2:04 PM)
I think he stays for this season. Not so sure about 2013.
Mark (Toronto)
What do you think the chances are that Van Dyke or Chewka could beat out Spencer (or I guess Bartel) for a starting CB gig?
Bill Williamson (2:05 PM)
Sure, I think that's what the team would like to see. Get one of those young guys out there. They are the future. Bartell and Spencer are quick fixs. Both are 30.
Matt Johnson (Flagstaff, AZ)
Which Charger receiver do you think will have the most catches next season? I'm hearing a lot of good things about Eddie Royal this year.
Bill Williamson (2:06 PM)
Don't discount Vincent Brown, I could see him really becoming a big part of the offense.
Peter (Chicago)
Bill, you saw him firsthand this week. Gimmie your honest no BS assessment. How did Payton Manning look to you?
Bill Williamson (2:07 PM)
He looked on pace. He looked like there are no worries.
Cody (South Dakota)
Which will be more likely to happen Peyton Manning wins MVP or Peyton Manning wins second Super Bowl this year?
Bill Williamson (2:07 PM)
They are probably the same thing, bro. If one happens, the other easily could as well.
Ryan (Lebanon, MO)
If you had to make a guess as to if or when Dwayne Bowe gets a contract or signs his tender when do you think it will happen or do you think he will hold out like Vincent Jackson did last year ?
Bill Williamson (2:08 PM)
Maybe I'm wrong on this one, but I don't see a long holdout happening.
Matt Johnson (Flagstaff, AZ)
Do you see SD switching philosophies to more of a "run first" offense now that VJ is gone and with all the mistakes Rivers made last season coupled with Ryan Mathews starting to emerge as a workhorse back?
Bill Williamson (2:09 PM)
The run is always important in Norv's offense, but that offense is built on the pass.
Famous Darth (Dont touch my Tie Fighter, Fett.)
Thoughts on Denarius Moore injury?
Bill Williamson (2:10 PM)
Run of the mill hammy. He'll be fine.
Jake Banner (Oakland)
Why do you think Streater got the 1st team reps over Criner?
Bill Williamson (2:11 PM)
It's June. it's time to experiment. Let's see what happens in August. More importantly, let's see what happens in Week 1.
Evan (Aguanga, CA)
The Denver Broncos have 11 Wide Receivers on their roster right now. Andre Caldwell, Eric Decker, Mark Dell, D'Andre Goodwin, Tyler Grisham, Jason Hill, Greg Orton, Eric Page, Gerell Robinson, Brandon Stokley, and Demaryius Thomas. How many of them do you think will make the 53 man roster and which ones? Also, which ones do you think will not make the 53-man roster but will be on the practice squad come Week 1?
Bill Williamson (2:14 PM)
If I had to guess right now: Thomas, Decker, Caldwell, Stokley, Hill and Matthew Willis.
Lisa Adams (San Diego, California)
Which San Diego Defensive addition do you think will make the biggest impact for the team next season?
Bill Williamson (2:14 PM)
I'ma big MelviN ingram guy. Love that pick.
T-Hawk (Missouri)
What is the likelyhood that the West produces a wildcard this season.
Bill Williamson (2:15 PM)
Not much. Here and thre in Oak and SD maybe.
Jack Jeramiah (SD)
How many sacks do you think Melvin Ingram will get in the regular season?
Bill Williamson (2:15 PM)
Let's start over/under at 6.5.
Chad (Denver)
Hey Bill, I am a huge Air Force fan, and I would love to see former DT/DE Ben Garland make the Broncos squad and have a career similar to Chad Hennings. What do you think his chances are?
Bill Williamson (2:17 PM)
There are a lot people who love Garland. He is a serious worker and I think he has a chance at the 53-man roster.
Star Wars Action Figure (Robb's closet)
Best reason for Denver fans to be hopeful, and best reason for Denver fans to be cautious?
Bill Williamson (2:18 PM)
Hopeful: The great Peyton Manning.Cautious: The Great Peyton Manning's surgically-repaired neck. Overall, i think he will be fine, but we have to see.
T-Hawk (Missouri)
Matt Cassel goes 9-7 takes 2nd in the division....Is he a Chief next season?
Bill Williamson (2:19 PM)
It depends if he plays well or not.
Famous Darth (Dont touch my Tie Fighter, Fett)
Could Rod Streater be Oakland 6th WR?
Bill Williamson (2:22 PM)
That's an interesting one. If he has a great camp and preseason, they may have to find room for him on the 53. Good young players with good preseeason film often get claimed. If he is so-so in the preseason, he could probably be stashed on the practice squad.
Famous Darth (Dont touch my Tie Fighter, Fett)
Which QB throws for the most yards in AFCW: Palmer or Rivers?
Bill Williamson (2:23 PM)
Rivers is the better player, so I'll go with him.
damien (phoenix)
hey bill, wondering if there's any word on how Oaklands TE's are doing, and any word on our undrafted free agents, most notably the WR carrier. i heard a lot about him leading up to the draft, not much since. thanks
Bill Williamson (2:25 PM)
The Raiders have praised their TEs. It seems they are comfortable with them. That worries me a little because they are all unproven. I'm not saying they are bad, just unproven and I'd like to see more experience at the position headed into the season.Carrier is a solid practice squad prospect.
Jack jeramiah (SD)
Do Roscoe Parrish or Michael Spurlock take Richard Goodman's job? Or do you think SD keeps all these WR/KR/PR players on the roster for depth?
Bill Williamson (2:26 PM)
If Goodman has a good cmap, I think it's his job.
Mark (Toronto)
Can Aaron Henry crack the Raiders roster as an undrafted FA. We're a little thin at safety.
Bill Williamson (2:26 PM)
I think so. He's a nice player.
Don (Berkeley, CA)
Does Louis Murphy make the opening day roster for the Raiders? And if so, is this a make or break season for him in Oakland?
Bill Williamson (2:28 PM)
I think he is a good player, but it's getting crowded. Perhaps he will be late-camp trade bait.
Tony (Richmond, CA)
How long will the Raiders continue with the DHB experiment? Will the new regime have less patience with his inconsistent pass catching and playmaking than Al and Hue?
Bill Williamson (2:30 PM)
Didn't you think the kid did pretty well last year?
Tim (Denver)
Mario Fannin...Does he make this team? And if so, is Knowshown gone?
Bill Williamson (2:31 PM)
Fannin is defintely a guy to wtach. Moreno, I;m not sure sure.
Star Wars Action Figure (Robb's closet)
More sacks as a rookie: Poe, Wolfe, Burris, or Ingram?I'm going with Ingram because he can really sock the QB in the mouth. Speaking of socks, lots of crusty socks in here. A small mountain.
Bill Williamson (2:33 PM)
Ingram. Best pass rushe rof the bunch ... You guys are nutty by the way. I say with the utmost respect.Got to go. Two more questions.
Just playin (poss)
How close are Prater and the Broncos to a contract extension?
Bill Williamson (2:33 PM)
I think it gets done before camp.
Lawrence (Mizzou)
Have the Chiefs put enough pieces around Matt Cassel for him to be successful?
Bill Williamson (2:34 PM)
That was the plan. Surround Cassel with talent and give him every chance to succeed. I think they did that. Now it's on him.
MIC (WORK)
Great answer on the DHB question BW. Who do you think is more vital to their team, regarding health, DMC with Bush now gone, or Gates with VJ now gone?
Bill Williamson (2:35 PM)
Bonus answer:DMC because he is the the primary running option in Oakland. Rivers has other passing options than Gates.
Bill Williamson (2:35 PM)
Great times, folks. Thanks for adjusting this week. Back to our regular sked next week. Have a great weekend.
