Chat with Roy Hibbert

Hibbert was the 17th overall pick int he 2008 draft.
Welcome to SportsNation! On Friday, we'll be chatting about the NBA Finals with Indiana Pacers center Roy Hibbert.
Hibbert helped the Pacers reach the playoffs this season for the second straight year, after Indiana had missed the playoffs the four previous years. Indiana's 63.6 winning percentage during the lockout-shortened 2011-12 season was the best by the Pacers since 2003-04.
Hibbert, @Hoya2aPacer, made his first all-star team this past season, while posting career-highs in points (12.8 ppg), rebounds (8.8 rpg) and shooting (49.7%).
Send your questions now and join Hibbert Friday at noon ET!

Indiana Pacers' Roy Hibbert will be here at noon ET to take your questions!
Buzzmaster (11:55 AM)
Roy is here!
Kris (Miami, FL)
Your thoughts on last night's game, Roy?
Roy Hibbert (11:56 AM)
I believe Miami came out hot and they withstood Oklahoma's comeback. They showed fortitude.
Bob (Chicago)
You were hilarious is short minutes on Parks and Recreation. Is acting something you're interested in, or was that just a lockout-related gig?
Roy Hibbert (11:57 AM)
No, I'm actually into acting, as long as it doesn't interfere with basketball. I feel I have a comedic side to myself.
John (Baton Rouge) [via mobile]
Do you think the outcome of last nights game would've changed if the refs call the foul on LeBron late in the game?
Roy Hibbert (11:57 AM)
I think it definitely would have. It would have gone to overtime. The momentum was shifting to Oklahoma. I think they would have won the game.
Raj (Buffalo, NY)
How tough was it playing against Miami?
Roy Hibbert (11:58 AM)
It was tough. The first two times we got blown out. The third time was close. The fourth time we blew them out. We slowly started to figure them out.
Adoy (Aventura)
How difficult is it to defend the Heat's big three at the rim?
Roy Hibbert (11:58 AM)
It's pretty hard, because they put on a lot of pressure and they attack the basket. That can lead to foul trouble.
Tom M (Washington DC)
Hi Roy! As a fellow Hoya alum, I would be really interested in hearing about how your experience at Georgetown prepared you for success in the NBA - both on and off the court. Hoya Saxa!
Roy Hibbert (11:59 AM)
The four years at Georgetown helped me mature as a player and as a man. It really helped me out in terms of my development.
Raj (Buffalo, NY)
What was it liking co-hosting NBA TV? Were you nervous?
Roy Hibbert (11:59 AM)
It was good. I really felt at home. I learned a lot about anchoring and doing game analysis.
Matthew (Indiana)
What is your biggest area of focus for improvement this off season.
Roy Hibbert (12:00 PM)
Scoring from the high post, where David West scores, so they can't front me in the post.
Paul (Indy)
Last year you asked what your twitter fans thought you should work on during the offseason, how did that work out and what are you planning on focusing on this offseason?
Roy Hibbert (12:00 PM)
They told me to get stronger in the legs and be able to score in the post and I did that. I was already going to do that.
Brian McCarty (Indianapolis)
Thanks for a great season; it was fun watching you and the guys play. What is your favorite movie of all time?
Roy Hibbert (12:01 PM)
My favorite movie of all time would have to be Anchorman.
Deven (New York)
What's the difference playing for Coach Vogel than playing for Coach O'Brien during your first couple of years in the league?
Roy Hibbert (12:02 PM)
Coach Vogel is more of a team oriented coach. Listens to players and allows you to make mistakes. Coach O'Brien was more his way or the highway.
Matt Harter (Huntington, IN)
In your opinion, what does your team need to do to reach the Finals next year? Is there a particular type of player that you would like see added to the team? I'll see you in INDY next season!!
Roy Hibbert (12:02 PM)
Keep growing through drafting great players and bring quality free agents and players who want to win.
Raj (Buffalo, NY)
Who are you rooting for?
Roy Hibbert (12:03 PM)
I hope Kevin Durant wins his first championship. He's from my neck of the woods back home in Maryland. I'm rooting for him.
Sam (Muncie)
How close are you to getting a deal done with the Pacers?
Roy Hibbert (12:03 PM)
We can't talk to the team until July 1.
Matt Harter (Huntington, IN)
What is the update on your status with the USA Olympic Team? That would be a great experience!
Roy Hibbert (12:04 PM)
I'm unable to play because of Team FIBA rules, because I played for Team Jamaica I can't play for Team USA ever again.
Paul (Indy)
Also what area of the team do you think the Pacers should target with the upcoming draft?
Roy Hibbert (12:04 PM)
I think they'll probably draft a big. I have no idea though. I think they need a backup for myself.
Greg (VA)
How did you break your bobblehead?
Roy Hibbert (12:05 PM)
They're all made not well, shoddy. I brought three in case one broke and they all broke.
Aneesh (Indy)
Dang Big Roy, you're knocking these questions out rapid-fire style! Where do you see the Pacers finishing in the East next year?
Roy Hibbert (12:06 PM)
If I'm back there next year, I think we'll have a pretty good chance, as long as we keep bringing in quality players.
Mark (Madison, WI)
What would you say to any free agent that is considering signing with the Pacers, but is lukewarm about moving to Indy (as opposed to a bigger city)?
Roy Hibbert (12:06 PM)
Coach Frank is truly a great coach. The city is great. It's family oriented. We're all about winning. No nonsense.
Alex (Anaheim)
Your rebounds have increased every season in the NBA. Do you pride yourself on working hard for boards?
Roy Hibbert (12:07 PM)
Yeah, rebounding is all about timing. I feel like I'm getting better each year.
Matt Harter (Huntington, IN)
What made you decide to go to the movies with your Area 55? That's a great gesture. I wish more pro athletes would do that.
Roy Hibbert (12:07 PM)
I was feeling lonely. I wanted to hang out with some good friends.
Paul (Indy)
Where are you planning on training this summer, anymore working out with Tim Duncan?
Roy Hibbert (12:08 PM)
I'm working out at Indiana at the Pacers facility. As soon as Tim decides to start working out again, I'll be right there with him.
Roy Hibbert (12:09 PM)
I appreciate all of your support. Follow me @Hoya2aPacer on Twitter. I need more followers.
