When do you think that we will see the Texas Longhorns as the National Champions in College Football?
Sean Adams (12:17 PM)
Those suckers are hard to come by but Texas will be able make a serious run at winning the conference which usually means having a shot at the whole thing in 2013 and 2014. Those are probably the best shots that Texas has soon.
Adam (Ann Arbor)
Hey Sean, Happy Friday! The Defense is obviously going to be stacked this year. Two players I see who can make it go from great to elite are Phillips and Cobbs. I see a little bit of a poor mans Earl Thomas in Adrian and with all the cross training they receive should be one of the best cover safeties in the nation (pairing very nicely with the hard hitting Vaccarro). Am I far off in that assessment? Could you shed some light on what you expect from these 2 possible under the radar defenders.
Sean Adams (12:25 PM)
I don't think youa re far off at all. I am a fan of Phillips and I agree that he and Vacarro will make a great pair. Cobbs is so athletic and plays with a huge passion. I think both guys add a lot to the Texas defense outside of the known commodities. They will be known by game 3.
Jose Cuervo (California )
If teams put 8 guys in the box, will the horns still be able to run the ball? How many passing 1st down and passing yard do the horns need to average per game in order to keep defenses honest?
Sean Adams (12:28 PM)
That's too hard of a number to come up with. I think the Texas staff will be comfortable with letting David Ash make some decisions on first down to make sure he gets Texas in the best play to be successful. You know and I know that every team is going to stack the box and force Ash to pass. That still won't work with some teams but against the better teams Ash will have to answer the bell.
Jaston (Lubbock, Tx)
Will Texas have 5 consecutive 10 win seasons in the next 5 years??
Sean Adams (12:30 PM)
Texas will have to win half of what I call the push games (West Virginia, Oklahoma, TCU and Kansas State) without losing any that they should win. It's a tall order this year but not impossible. I'd start the run next year.
longhorns fan (Austin, TX)
Is RSJ, Prevot, samples, bennoch, or billings going to commit to UT?
Sean Adams (12:33 PM)
If I had to pick one I would say Bennoch. He has liked Texas since he was a kid. We'll see. It ain't near over but that would be my choice.
Stan (Austin, TX)
Why do you love the Pac 12 so much and where do they rank in the country.
Sean Adams (12:39 PM)
I am a west coast kid and have spent a lot of time around Cal and some of the other Pac 12 schools. Also have a huge appreciation for the educations at USC, Cal, Stanford, UCLA and Washington. As for where they rank in football, probably in a tie with the Big Ten for third behind the SEC and the Big 12.
Mike (Austin)
What do you think Texas record regular season will be?
Sean Adams (12:45 PM)
I have been going with 9 - 3 so that's where I'll hang out. I have no idea what the three games will be but I'll say 9 - 3.
Lawrence (Round Rock, TX)
Texas A & M (my school) and Missouri are gone from the Big 12. I know you think the Big 12 is better off now but what about five years from now?
Sean Adams (12:51 PM)
I think Missouri will have a hard time at it for the duration. Out of all four teams (WVU, TCU, Missouri and Texas A & M) that moved the Aggies have the most upside because of history, tradition, resources and more than anything the recruiting base of Texas.
Alan (Houston)
Is it safe to say that Longhorn Network is a complete disaster? We aren't seeing great returns, and we ruined the traditional college football landscape to do it.
Sean Adams (12:54 PM)
I think we have all raised an eye brow at some of the decisions that were made but the LHN is not close to a failure. They have a huge subscriber base and I have a sneaky feeling that they will be wide range in Texas soon.

Leroy (Oakland, CA)
How can you rank the Pac 12 below the Big 12? USC, Washington, Stanford and Oregon are all ballers. The new coaches are great too.
Sean Adams (12:59 PM)
Washington is still on the come! The new coaches have a shot at Arizona, Washington State and Arizona State but they still have a lot of work to do. It will all prove itself out on the field anyway.
Coop (Sugar Land,TX)
What Freshmen have a chance to make a big impact this year?
Sean Adams (1:01 PM)
I know there are great players at WR, RB and the OL but I'm going to go with M. Brown on the defensive line. He is a baller and if he is in shape when camp starts, he could be in that rotation to make the defensive line even better.
Tony (Richmond, CA)
Will Trey Metoyer's size and speed remind Longhorn fans of former Sooner receiver Malcolm Kelly?
Sean Adams (1:03 PM)
I don't think as lean and even if so he just runs stronger than Kelly.
Jake (Wisconsin)
Why is the Big Ten getting so little love nationally?
Sean Adams (1:07 PM)
That will all change this year. The Big Ten got lazy too. Urban Meyer is changing that though. Hoke is doing his thing as well. Michigan, Wisconsin, Michigan State and Ohio State are all going make statements this year.
Tony (Richmond, CA)
How scary would USC be right now if they didn't have scholarship restrictions? Kiffin just landed another big time recruit yesterday?
Sean Adams (1:08 PM)
They would be better but I don't know how much better. Usually no school uses all of their open scholarships (85). They got hurt more by the bowl ban. With that said I keep going back and forth between USC and Alabama for the top team in the country.
@205Whisenant (Austin, Texas)
Sean, the TE position has fallen off in recent years, and I question the desire and work ethic of McFarland and Grant. How do you feel about the position for this season and next year with Swaim and Smythe?
Sean Adams (1:11 PM)
Grant just has to stay healthy and McFarland just needs to show and prove. I do like Swaim and Smythe though, a lot. Swaim will be looked as by everyone as a blocker but he may catch a few passes too.
Derrin (Plano, TX)
What former UT star does Brandon Moore remind you of on the defensive line?
Sean Adams (1:13 PM)
None really. moore is such a lean 325. He's taller that Wright, Big Shawn, Casey, Miller and all of them. He'll remind you of an SEC DT and that's a good thing.
Tony (Richmond, CA)
Is Sergio Kindle done, before he ever got started in the NFL?
Sean Adams (1:13 PM)
I'm just hoping for the best.
Sean Adams (1:14 PM)
Thanks for all of the great question. I have to get ready for the Adams Theory.
