Send your questions now and join Oliver Friday at 4 p.m. ET!
How good of a look at Arik Armstead do you think we will get on Saturday?
Brandon Oliver (4:05 PM)
Probably a pretty good one. He'll be in the rotation and I imagine the backups will get plenty of run in the 2nd half
Josh Williams (PDX)
Hey Brandon- Any word on Lyerla starting?
Brandon Oliver (4:13 PM)
You'll find out when the rest of the world does. Expect all the tight ends to get some play in the first few weeks
The Black Mamba (Eugene)
In order to get invited to New York this year I must _______
Brandon Oliver (4:16 PM)
Average 77.5 yds/carry...or50+ catches for 700 yards, 700 rush yards, 1000 return yards with 3 or 4 for touchdowns. 18 TD's overall. Most importantly have a huge game on Nov. 3rd vs. the team you were once committed to for a year. Help the Ducks back to a BCS bowl. That should work
RW (PDX )
Hi. Besides the big names, who else are you most excited to get a look at tomorrow?
Brandon Oliver (4:18 PM)
Byron Marshall is a big name, but he may be the most important backup this year, Bennett aside.Keanon Lowe is up there. Tyler Johnstone tooThe entire units on the offensive and defensive lines is what I'll be looking at
RW (PDX )
Where does the Gangnam Style video rank in your top Ducks vids?
Brandon Oliver (4:19 PM)
Fairly low. The Duck displayed some decent moves. The cheerleaders being heavily involved never hurt any video, but I've seen better.
I've been pumping iron all off season. How many push ups will I have to do tomorrow? How about this season?
Brandon Oliver (4:22 PM)
My math skills are running at about a 3rd grade level, but I'll say you're looking at 45+ points tomorrow and over 600 total points this year. All I know is that I hope you're in shape... Keep your back straight!Good luck!
Inquiring Fan (Eugene)
I know Chip Kelly is committed to not using two quarterbacks (I don't blame him). However, how much do you think we can expect to see of Bennett this year? Do you ever foresee him and Mariota on the field at the same time?
Brandon Oliver (4:28 PM)
As long as he stays steady, don't expect a lot of shifting. Kelly went with MM for a reason. Bennett will get plenty of playing time in the 2nd half of most games. It would be a poor choice to bet against them being on the field at the same time. Either one has the speed to line up out wide, which provides a lot of options
Bruce Wayne (Gotham City)
Is Bralon Addison the real deal?
Brandon Oliver (4:34 PM)
Yes. Addison is the perfect fit for the Ducks offense. De'Anthony 2.0 without the top end speed.Addison will make jaws drop
Chris (Medford Oregon)
How many points do the Red Wolves score against Oregon?
Brandon Oliver (4:34 PM)
13-21Is that vague enough? I'll go with 17
Being from the northeast. Do you see chip flirting with the NFL again in the next 1-2 years if the NY Jets HC position opens up?
Brandon Oliver (4:37 PM)
That would be an interesting spot for him.The "Mouth of Manchester" taking over for Rex Ryan in NYC?I think the NFL will be too tough for him to ignore in the coming years, regardless of where it is.
Peter Parker (New York)
Random recruiting question (guess I'm still stuck in the preseason) but any word on James Quick from Kentucky? Last I heard he had Oregon in his top three and wide reciever still seems to me like the one offensive position we could use a star player in.
Brandon Oliver (4:41 PM)
Quick is still at the top of the list for WR prospects but it will be an absolute shock if he leaves the state. Louisville is in REAL good shape to sign him
Jon (Klamath Falls)
What kind of numbers do you see MM putting up tomorrow?
Brandon Oliver (4:41 PM)
I'd go with...17-26 for 218 and 3 td's, 52 yards rushing and a TD
Ben Ingersoll (Fresno)
what ever happened to Rahsaan Vaughn?
Brandon Oliver (4:44 PM)
Good question. Many were hoping for him to step up after showing a few flashes last year.He simply didn't make the progress the Ducks had hoped. That being said, he'll get plenty of chances if he keeps working. The depth chart at Oregon is pretty flexible.De'Anthony Thomas wasn't on the two-deep for the first six games last year...
Bruce Banner (Laboratory)
Follow up to Nick, When Kelly leaves (I view it as inevitable) who gets tapped for the new HC at Oregon?
Brandon Oliver (4:47 PM)
It will all depend on the timing. The Ducks will likely have their pick of some big names if the success continues and no significant sanctions come.Helfrich is always rumored as 'waiting in the wings' and while he is a great coach, I'm not sure of he'd be the guy to take the reigns...
Jack Reardon (PDX)
Do you think Oregon can beat the hyped up USC and if so do you think they have what it takes to go all the way and win a BCS title?
Brandon Oliver (4:50 PM)
Can they? Yes, absolutely. Will they? It all depends.I think it would be tough to do it twice, but if they beat them in LA, game two is in Eugene, giving the Ducks a good chance. This year the race to the top is as open as ever. No reason the Ducks can't do it if MM plays within himself and the defense plays to their capabilities.
Steve Rogers (Brooklyn)
WAY early prediction, how long do you foresee MM sticking around? Will he make the same mistake as DT?
Brandon Oliver (4:51 PM)
I would expect him to be at least a three-year starter...DT should serve as a good example, but MM should be a lot further along and a lot more polished than DT was at that stage.
Joey Harrington (2001)
Could we have beaten Miami in 2001 if the computers didn't leave us out of the natty?
Brandon Oliver (4:54 PM)
No. You were as good as they come Joey, but that Miami team was disgusting. The Ducks would have made it a game for sure.35-24 Miami
Brandon Oliver (4:56 PM)
Thanks for your questions everyone! Enjoy the three day weekend and more importantly, the first weekend of college football.Follow DuckNation on twitter @ESPNDuckNation
Oliver Queen (Star City)
Which current duck will be the highest draft pick when they leave?
Brandon Oliver (4:58 PM)
One more for the road...Tough to say. I know that one NFL scout told me he and many of his peers like Barner more than LaMichael, so if he blows up this year, he could go fairly high.I'll go with one out of left field...DeForest Buckner
Shaq Thompson (Washington)
Will I regret not coming to Oregon over the next 4 years?
Brandon Oliver (5:00 PM)
Ok, one more...No Shaq, you won't. You wanted the chance to play baseball and play football for some coaches you have known forever. Playing with some old friends and teammates never hurt anybody. You might be a little jealous of the BCS games and the wins that you could have been a part of..Woof Woof
