Ohm (1:00 PM)
Hey guys! What you all got for me this week?
Ohm, get rid of the curse on our secondary!! Other side of the ball, I am concerned with Nicks. The lack of information/timetable on his knee makes me feel something worse is coming. Is this going to be long term?
Ohm (1:02 PM)
Ok... sorry, the pause was to say a prayer to Buddha for your Giants' secondary. LOL. As for Nicks, I am not going to even guess. I am sure having a surgically repaired ankle doesn't help the knee either. But let's see what happens over next two days.
Obviously the Giants are favored this week, but is there anything they need to be wary of against Cleveland?
Ohm (1:03 PM)
Alex... YES! Giants have a tendency to play up or down to their competition. And they have trouble sometimes in 1 pm games at home against inferior opponents. Rookie Trent Richardson has to be priority number one for the Giants to stop. From there, try to get pressure on rookie QB Weeden.
hey ohm is hosely comin back soon? We need him and Coe to get right with the back end looking shaky through the first quarter of the season.
Ohm (1:04 PM)
Joe, Hosley has been doing some limited work. He could be back this week. If not, then probably a week away. Definitely can use him.
Hey Ohm, wondering what you thought about the safety situation. With Phillips hurt and Sash coming back from his suspension, do we see him thrown right back into the mix or is it Stevie Brown's time to shine? Personally wouldn't mind seeing Will Hill get some work back there...
Ohm (1:05 PM)
AJ, I think Brown will start again and then Sash may get a few reps if they decide to activate him. Will Hill could see some more slot work and be used on blitzes like last week.
Joe (Glen Cove)
Will Randle see significant time this weekend if Barden and Nicks are unavailable?
Ohm (1:07 PM)
Joe, I think Randle will see snaps as the third receiver if those two are out. Jernigan might even get into the mix if that's the case.
Any idea why the coaching staff went away from two of the players that performed so well agaisnt Carolina in Brown and Barden? Of course Bradshaw came back, but I was hoping for more balance in the run game.
Ohm (1:09 PM)
Aaron, the Giants tend to typically lean toward their starters when they return from injury and are healthy. I think they would have liked to have gotten Brown more carries but Philadelphia dominated time of possession in fourth quarter. As for Barden, Hixon was ahead of Barden on depth chart before injury. So when he came back, he started with Nicks out and Eli trusts him. Not to say that Eli doesn't trust Barden. Clearly he went to him three times in critical situations on that final drive.
Dutch (Harlem )
What's good Ohm!? With all the injuries in the middle of the line forcing Tuck and JPP inside What's the likelihood of Ojomo and/or Tracy breaking into the D-line rotation in the coming weeks?
Ohm (1:10 PM)
Dutch, I don't know. Probably doubtful. As it is now, Tuck and Osi don't get a ton of snaps. They all rotate with JPP and Kiwi as well. So it is not like there are a lot of snaps to go around. Now if Rocky is out, Kuhn could move up and see even more snaps at DT and then Marvin Austin. But you could see more NASCAR.
Who do you think will be dropped from the 53 to add sash?
Ohm (1:12 PM)
Dohson, good good question. Been trying to figure it out myself. Don't know. They may want to see how their injury situation for this week pans out over the next 48 hours. Heck, they do they have the option of not bringing Sash back on roster until Monday if they decide so too.
Hey Ohm! So what did the Giants learn from the Philly game? I know they love to go deep often, but will they reign some of it in and try to moves the chains a bit more instead. Also, is there anything to the remarks about Randle's work ethic?
Ohm (1:14 PM)
Hey Rick, I think the Giants need to keep doing what they do and leave it in Eli's hands. I do disagree with going deep on that play to Barden but given his history, I will never not trust Eli in the fourth quarter. But I'd hate to see Giants go even more conservative because of all this. As for Randle, I don't think Collinsworth would throw something out there without being told that. But Randle says no truth to the criticism.
For all the hype about this All-World pass rush the Giants have, they certainly haven't gotten to the QB much thus far, huh?
Ohm (1:14 PM)
Newt, nope. Think they are seeing more attention from offensive lines and what not. But they need more pressure.
Ohm (1:14 PM)
Alright guys, Giants just opened locker room. Got to run. Thanks for the questions!
