Belated Merry Christmas!!!
Daniel (TX)
Who has a better chance being a Starter next year sanchez or tebow?
Mel Kiper (1:03 PM)
That's a good question. If Tebow goes to Jacksonville it depends on if its the owners call or the coaches call. I wouldn't bet against Tebow though. The Jets are starting over at QB. Tebow won't be there next season and Sanchez won't be starting. I'd call it a push.
Stephan (VA)
Who the offensive and defensive rookie of the years in your opinion?
Mel Kiper (1:06 PM)
I would say RG III, Russell Wilson and Andrew Luck are the top three candidates but Alfred Morris has had a great year too. On the defensive side I'd say Lavonte David, Bobby Wager, Derrick Wolfe, Luke Kuechly Janoris Jenkins, or Harrison Smith has a chance. I think I'll go with Kuechly on defense and RG III or Luck on offense.
Nate (Georgia)
Who wins the NFC East when its all said and done?
Mel Kiper (1:08 PM)
The way Washington is playing right now, it would be hard to go against them playing at home. The Cowboys are a bit banged up so I'll have to give a slight edge to the Redskins. Also, the Redskins can still get in the playoff if they lose but Dallas has to win or they will go home.
kris (New jersey)
Can anyone in the league cover calvin johnson one on one? revis maybe?
Mel Kiper (1:10 PM)
Revis is the only lockdown corner in the NFL. No other corner can play to the level of Revis. With the rule changes that hinder the physicality of the defensive back, its amazing that he does what he does. Patrick Patterson has the ability to be on Revis' level if he keeps improving.
Fame (Cali)
What make Dez bryant such a special Talent, and is he probowl worthy this year?
Mel Kiper (1:11 PM)
I don't think he's Pro Bowl worthy. He has played better towards the end of the season but he hasn't been consistent and the strange thing is he has the talent. He should have Calvin Johnson type numbers every week, he has what it takes to be the best WR in the NFL.

What is the chances that Kansas city pick MLB Teo and getting the honey badger in the 2nd then getting QB Arron Murray with the 3rd round and getting Vick in trade
Mel Kiper (1:14 PM)
All that is fine but they need to look at a left tackle, someone like Matt Joeckel from Texas A
Carl (Connecticut)
Hi, Who do you think in this draft would benefit the New England.
Mel Kiper (1:15 PM)
The Pats could use a DB, OT, WR. Those are the main three positions they will look to address.
David (Bethlehem, PA)
If Tajh Boyd goes into the draft, does he have the ability to develop into a Russell Wilson-like star next year. Can you please compare/contrast the two?
Mel Kiper (1:16 PM)
I would like to see him go back for another year because he'll have a very good receiving core. He has a lot of talent but I think he should stay another year.
Vijay (NYC)
Is there a RB the Broncos could target in the back half of the 1st round?
Mel Kiper (1:18 PM)
Right now I don't have a running back with a first round grand, but their are a lot of second or third rounders out there.
Jeff (KCMO)
Mel, considering Geno Smith's numbers are comparable if not better than Stafford's, Bradford's, Luck, Griffin, Wilson, etc...why is he considered SUCH a reach? His numbers are just as good. Is it the losses?
Mel Kiper (1:20 PM)
First of all, he plays in a very QB-friendly offense so his numbers are skewed. He's still a borderline first round pick but he's not as high of a talent as QBs that have been recently drafted in the first round.
Travis (Jax)
If the Jags were interested in Jarvis Jones, would he be considered a 4-3 DE or would they have to change to a 3-4 to take full advantage of his rush skills?
Mel Kiper (1:25 PM)
He would be a 3-4 OLB in the NFL.
Matt (CT)
Hi Mel! As a Dolphins fan, what skill position players should I be watching in the upcoming bowl games?
Mel Kiper (1:29 PM)
I would say look at wide receivers. In the bowl games between now and New Years Eve look at Conner Vernon (Dudke), Terrence Williams (Baylor), Marcus Davis (VA Tech), Brandon Colman and Mark Harrison (Rutgers), Tavon Austin (UVA), Marcus Wheaton (Oregon State), Jordan Matthews (Vandy) and Robert Woods (USC).
Josh (Jefferson City)
Mel, Merry Christmas! Can you tell me what kind of system (3-4; 4-3) would best fit Sheldon Richardson? Can you provide a comparable player currently in the NFL?
Mel Kiper (1:31 PM)
Sheldon Richardson is a 4-3 DT and a three technique. He's a guy that can get in the backfield and wreak havoc. Right now he's No. 12 on the big board and he's a guy that has a chance to be a top 10 pick. He's really a gifted athlete.
Jeff (Ct)
How far will Jarvis jones drop due to medical concerns?
Mel Kiper (1:32 PM)
The is to be determined. It will all depend on this testing at the combine. I think he may drop into the 5-10 range.
Lonny (Blaine, Mn)
Do you think the Vikings had the best draft class of 2012?
Mel Kiper (1:36 PM)
As soon as the draft was over, I gave them a B. I wouldn't say they've had the best draft, but they had a solid B draft. I think everything will revolve around Christen Ponder. They must help out Ponder in the 2013 draft, they need receivers. They have Peterson and Harvin but they need help beyond those too. Cordarrelle Patterson (Tenn), Keenan Allen (Cal), Terrance Williams (Baylor), Tavon Austin (UWV), Justin Hunter (Tenn) and Quntion Patton (LTU) are some the WR they should look at.
Chris (NYC)
How far will Chance Warmack drop since he's a guard?
Mel Kiper (1:37 PM)
I think he will go very high, he's the seventh best player on the big board. Jonathan Cooper is anther outstanding guard to keep and eye on. Also junior Gabe Jackson for Mississippi State.
J (NY)
Thoughts on Ryan Nassib's ceiling?
Mel Kiper (1:38 PM)
He's played well, he's really improved his draft rating. If he goes to the Senior Bowl and does well, he could be looking at a third or fourth round draft pick.
Doc (Pa)
If the Eagles stay at the projected 4th pick. Who would be the best option for them to pick and do you think they would take a defensive playmaker over Joeckel?
Mel Kiper (1:42 PM)
This is a team that needs a pick safety but there is nobody to take that high. There isn't a Mark Barron type of player in this draft. They could use help at corner too but there is no Morris Claiborne in this draft either. They could go offensive line but they've had a lot of injuries on that line this year so going that route would depend on they if they want to wait for injured players get healthy or do they just draft players. What they do on draft day also depends on who they will have on the sideline with a coaching change likely to happen.
Nick [via mobile]
What's the top position the Bills should address the first day of the draft?
Mel Kiper (1:44 PM)
They need to think about the QB position. They have Tom Brady and Ryan Tannehill in that division and they need a QB that can get them wins over those teams. Fitzpatrick had a lot of INTs this season and that's been a major problem for that team. It was a very disappointing season for them, a team many people thought could be a wild card team. They also need to look at the WR position.
Mel Kiper (1:44 PM)
Happy New Year, safe travels! I'll be back next to preview the playoff games.
