Hey guys, what's cracking?
Chris Fiegler (Latham,NY)
Who do you think would be a Perfect fit for the Giants in the 2013 NFL Draft?
Ohm (1:02 PM)
Chris, still a bit early to figure out who is the perfect fit. Let's wait until after the Combine and around April for the draft. So much can change between now and then. But I think as far as positions go, they can really use another pass rusher or offensive lineman at 19.
hi ohm. with the draft approaching in a couple months, do you think the giants draft a middle linebacker like alec ogletree, a tight end like eifert or a corner such as xavier rhodes? thanks
Ohm (1:03 PM)
Ben, if I had to bet my money, I'd say they go best player available and all things being equal, they tend not to draft a linebacker or tight end in the first round. I'd guess more defensive lineman, maybe offensive lineman or cornerback.
Ohm (1:03 PM)
Congrats on #1. See you in a few weeks in East Lansing.
Hey, bro, too bad about the Te'o/Tuiasosopo scandal for your people.
Ohm (1:04 PM)
My people? Well, Samoans are of Asian descent. But you do know I am not Samoan or Asian Pacific Islander right?
Are any 2012 Giants definitely out the door at this point?
Ohm (1:07 PM)
I mean, I am sure there are several Giants who won't be coming back. But if you are asking me who for certain, that is hard to pinpoint. For example, they will likely terminate Terrell Thomas' contract but they still could bring him back for cheaper depending on his rehab. But even with someone like Osi who has repeatedly said in the past that he wants more money and a starting job, he told reporters today at the Super Bowl that his preference is to come back. So who knows.
Ohm, there's been increasing chatter that a playoff team could potentially surrender their first round pick and sign Cruz. This obviously makes Giants fans worried. Based on what you're hearing, do you expect him to return to Big Blue on a long-term deal?
Ohm (1:10 PM)
MA, I don't know if he will be back on an extension. From what I hear, the Giants don't seem as willing to give Cruz what he wants. So they likely will tender him the max RFA tender. Compensation would be a first-round pick if the Giants choose not to match. Keep in mind that the Giants want to eventually keep Hakeem Nicks, whose contract is up after this coming season, and JPP down the road. So they are not going to break the bank for Cruz but they want to keep him. And Jerry does like his first round picks so if another team came in and offered Victor a big deal that is too large for the Giants' taste, there's always a possibility that Victor could end up elsewhere. But teams didn't go out of their way to scoop up Mike Wallace and give up a No. 1 for him last year as a restricted free agent too right?

Ohm. Why do you think eli took a step backwards in play this year?
Ohm (1:11 PM)
Jim, I think a lot of it had to do with Nicks' injury. That did not help. But he also did not look nearly as sharp as he did the year before and missed some passes he normally makes. But I think Eli needed a little help from his defense and a healthier Nicks this past year.
Giants lost Aaron Ross, Mario M., Dave Tollefson and Jacobs via FA last year. Does that equate to a extra 4th round pick for the Giants via compensatory pick for the upcoming draft via the league?
Ohm (1:12 PM)
Pete, great question. I'd say that sounds about right. Somewhere in that area. But we'll see.
Hi Ohm, what are you hearing regarding our two big OL free agents? Do you expect Beatty and Boothe back? Both played well last year.
Ohm (1:13 PM)
Martin, great question. Hard to know that until free agency begins. You know the Giants... they will not overpay most of the time in free agency or for their own players. But I do think the Giants value left tackle and my guess is the Giants do all they can to bring back Beatty. I think Boothe would come back as well but we have to see how free agency shakes out.
Chris Fiegler (Latham,NY)
What does the Giants need to address in the 2013 NFL Draft?
Ohm (1:15 PM)
Chris, offensive line, defensive line (pass rusher and even DT), cornerback, linebacker, speedy playmakers.
Ohm (1:18 PM)
Alright guys, thanks for your questions today! See you next week!
