Even though a lot of people thought this draft wouldn't have a lot of drama and excitement because of the lack to QBs and skill players, I thought it was every exciting. I thought we really saw the teams with the strongest scouting departments hit homeruns in a draft that really had good depth.

Who would be a better rookie quarterback in the 2013-2014 season, Matt Barkley, Geno Smith, or some of the other rookies?

It would be obvious to say Geno Smith because he has a better chance to start that Matt Barkley. But I think Berkeley fits better in Philly than people realize. Everyone assumes that Chip Kelly wants a read-option QB, but I think Barkley will transition better than folks thinks into Kelly's system. I don't think his lack of being a running QB will hurt him as much as people think. Smith doesn't have the supporting cast that Barkley has so Barkley will eventually do better.

Any teams out there that might trade for Brandon Albert now that the draft is over? What can KC expect in return?

I think it makes it tougher now because with the draft gone, trading for a pick that can help a team right away is no longer an option. To be honest, KC doesn't have a lot of leverage now and teams know that. Miami is a possibility but it wouldn't surprise me if Albert and KC made up a little bit. Imagine if Albert came back and they have Eric Fisher too. They will have very good bookend pass rushers for a very long time.

Why is everybody making a big deal about Dion Jordan's weight at DE? He is the same weight that Jason Taylor and Cameron Wake entered the league with and they both did well against the run.

I would tend to agree with you and I think Miami is a good fit because he can play opposite of Wake as edge pass rusher with great speed. However, he has a frame that won't always hold up for 16 games. As many flashy plays as he makes, I don't know if you can say he's a real consistent guy. If he plays with that consistent effort, he can be a real interesting guy.

I think its very interesting draft pick taking Ryan Nassib. First of all, they got him when they thought he'd be off the board a long time ago. So the value is excellent. I think what you look at here, is they will try to develop him for a couple of years. Let him learn from Eli and then hopefully he'll become a positive trade for a team that needs a QB. If you know the Giants, they are really true to their draft board. As they looked at their fourth round, and Nassib having a high grade, it made in virtually impossible for them to pass on him.

So far he's been very resistant to making a change and I'm not sure there is a NFL team that will sign him strictly as a QB. I think he could get a look as a role player, maybe and H-back, but I don't think there is a team that will give him a look as a quality drop back QB. This is evident by the number of QBs drafted or signed as free agents. Maybe his best option is to go to Canada and play in the CFL. It worked out pretty good for a guy named Warren Mood. Having said that, I don't think he'll do that.

Hi Gary, Which teams do you feel had the best draft and which teams had you wondering why they made those choices?

I've just started studying the overall draft today, because during the draft I was writing for ESPN.com. Off the top, I love the Rams, Ravens and as surprise teams, I like that Chargers and Bengals. I think a lot of teams were patient in this draft; they let the draft come to them. Several good teams got good players lower that what they expected. You can even throw the Vikings on that list. On the negative side, there are some concerns about the Dolphins. I don't know if you can argue with the Bills taking EJ Manuel, a guy who might have still been on the board in the second round. I don't like to grade the draft before I can sit and look at it as a whole. This isn't a draft with a lot of ohhs and ahhs, picks that made you think "what were they thinking with that pick." Overall teams let players fall to them; patience was really a positive for several of these teams.

Who in the AFC east do you think had the best draft ?

To be honest, I know it's early, but I think all four of these teams had average drafts. Not necessarily poor, but not spectacular. I think they filled their needs but no team had that blockbuster group of picks that would make us say "wow, can't wait to see them play next year." They were solid and steady.

For me it was a shock that he fell as much as he did. This is a team with so many needs, that it was hard to fault them for any direction that they would have taken. For me, if I was looking at it, taking D.J. Hayden was as pretty smart move. They got extra picks and a corner which filled a need. It looked like they really had a plan in place to fill the holes on what is a really bad roster.

In this NFL era, we used to think that May and June were slow months with not much going on. Now we have mini camps, off season training and there just isn't a down time in this league anymore. The next six weeks will be really important for these drafted players as they get to know their new teams and play books before the start of training camp. This is an important learning experience for these guys. Talk to you next week.
