Welcome to SportsNation! On Thursday, Chicago Cubs all-time great, and baseball hall of famer, Ernie Banks stops by to chat about the MLB season.
Banks made his debut for the Cubs in 1953, as the team's first black player. He was elected to the hall of fame in 1977 on the first ballot, after concluding a career where he was a 14-time all-star and two-time MVP.
This season, Banks is working with Citi Cubs Kids, a program dedicated to providing educational and motivational experiences for Chicago youth. Each event begins with a presentation rooted in mentoring and education and ends with a trip to Wrigley Field to watch the Cubs.
