KC Joyner (4:00 PM)
Good afternoon! Let's talk some fantasy football!
Mike (NY)
Hey Scientist, hope all is well. What are your thoughts on trying to upgrade from mike wallace to reggie wayne?
KC Joyner (4:01 PM)
They are both green-rated WRs but Wallace is by far the better vertical threat. Unless the league is a PPR, Wallace will be the better WR.
Justin (Minnesota)
Between Trent Richardson and Giovani Bernard, who do you see producing more fantasy points for owners in the future?
KC Joyner (4:02 PM)
Bernard should turn the Bengals backfield into a platoon sooner rather than later. Richardson is in a platoon now and will likely turn that backfield into a lead/alternate with him as the lead. That workload edge will give him more points.
Matt (Ft Lauderdale)
Why still so high on Pierce with Rice in line to play this week?
KC Joyner (4:03 PM)
Because Rice was limited in the Wednesday practice. Baltimore isn't going to bell cow him if he's banged up, not while they have Pierce as a more than viable alternative.
Iron Mike Sharpe, 0 - 672 career (Hamilton Ontario, CA)
Aaaarghhhhhh!!! .5ppr flex, pick one: F Jax, Tate, Bolden, Kenbrell, McGahee
KC Joyner (4:04 PM)
Funny thing is Mike Sharpe was only a jabroni in the WWF. In Canada he was actually pretty near the top of the card. Tough call, would say Kenbrell barely over Jackson because of Jackson's tough matchup.
Rey Mysterio (Jr)
Need your thoughts, I have M Vick in auction ppr 3 person keeper for $1. He's been insane so far but he's older and brittle. Would you try and trade him for C Kaepernick who somebody also has for $1 right now.
KC Joyner (4:06 PM)
That's a really tough question. Vick has been better protected by Kelly so he probably gets the nod.
Dark Helmet (Planet Spaceballs)
Comb the desert!! In the meantime, I traded Rice and Cruz for Graham and MJD...did I get completely hosed? My RBs are currently Morris, Gio Bernard, MJD, Starks, Pierce and K. Hunter. My WRs are currently Wallace, VJAX, D. Moore and Broyles. The TE I replaced was Myers. Thanks and may the Schwartz be with you!
KC Joyner (4:07 PM)
Good is dumb. Graham is the keeper out of that deal, so as long as you were on his side of the deal, all is well.
Luke (Tatooine)
Just gave up Sproles and Gordon to get T-Rich. My other WRs are Marshall and Demaryius. Did I just "destroy the death star" so to speak?
KC Joyner (4:08 PM)
Long term, you did. Short term, it might the shot that just impacted the surface.
Scott Irwin (Super Destoyer) (Big Ring in the Sky)
Got offered Ray Rice for Vick, Decker and P. Thomas. Good deal or not? Vick is sitting on my bench.
KC Joyner (4:09 PM)
Was just reading about The Super Destroyer last night, but it when that role was played by another wrestler. We need more masked wrestlers today. That's a lot to pay for Rice, wouldn't be a trade I'd make if.
Wrestling Expert (Stamford, CT)
Mike Sharpe was a 16-time heavyweight champion (and a bare knuckle champion once). Help me get my football championship - Martellus, Stephen Hill, or McGahee at PPR flex?
KC Joyner (4:11 PM)
The leader of the Mike Sharpe fan club. Hill is starting to show he can be a dominant NFL WR but Martellus is the way to go this week.
Brian (Boston)
Cook or Celek this week?
KC Joyner (4:12 PM)
Let me think about this. Answer is this - don't ask questions 100 times. They will never get answered.
Joe (NJ)
Jennings - time to give up on any hope? Thinking of taking a flyer on Broyles ROS vs Jennings as fill in for BYE or match up weeks.. what are your thuoghts thanks....
KC Joyner (4:12 PM)
PPR, make the move. Non-PPR, stick with Jennings.
Bryan (CT)
TFS- What happened to the Rams Def?! I drafted them in most leagues late and they look shot! Drop them for KC or NYJ and stream from here on out?
KC Joyner (4:13 PM)
They have been a major disappointment. Definitely drop them for the Jets, as NY's D could be the most dominant in the NFL right now (check out today's TFS ESPN Insider article for more specifics).
Bulldog Brower (woof woof) (WWWF HOF)
0.5 PPR Snelling, Levon Bell, or Ellington? Deandre Hopkins or Avery?
KC Joyner (4:14 PM)
Is he in the HOF? Like Bell and Avery out of that group (Hopkins is really good but he has a very tough matchup this week).
Chris (Denver)
I think some of us send multiple questions bc we figure we weren't clever enough the previous times to be answered...sorry. So, non ppr, who is my flex? J Cameron, Joique, Bilal, Ridley, or Andre Johnson?
KC Joyner (4:16 PM)
I don't mind seeing questions posted multiple times - it's the only way to keep them up on the screen. It's when they get posted 20 times in a row that's the issue, as it keeps every other question from being posted. Trying to be fair about it. Cameron wins, as Johnson has a really tough matchup.
Hillbilly Jim (Farm)
Cook was just dropped. Is he a must own. How about your thoughts on J. Reed?
KC Joyner (4:17 PM)
Really like Reed. He's injured this week but it shouldn't be a long-term issue (he might even play this week) and he's taking over the starting job from Davis. He's worth stashing. Cook is good but not a must own.
JR (LA)
Have an 0-3 team and I need to improve team overall, what do you think of dealing Martin, McGahee and Bowe for T. Richardson and Green ROS?
KC Joyner (4:17 PM)
Like that trade. Go for it.
Darren (MN)
Would creative names or posts be more helpful in getting a response, or just annoying? TRADE: give Ray Rice for R.Cobb and D.Wilson? I'd be starting Lacy at RB2 then, and Cobb over Boldin/S.Johnson. (would have RB/WR from same team)
KC Joyner (4:19 PM)
I try to strike a balance between creative/funny posts and interesting questions. Ones that hit both of those goals get top priority. Would definitely want to be on the Cobb/Wilson side of that deal, as the Giants run game has a much easier schedule slate down the stretch and that will get Wilson's value back up in a hurry.
Marcos (San Antonio)
You are me...would you trade away J Charles to get Forte and Cobb?
KC Joyner (4:20 PM)
Nope. Charles is a blue-rated player but Forte is very close to being a blue-rated player and Cobb is a high-rated green-rated player. Would rather have Forte and Cobb.
Franklin (Nashville)
Cook or Fleener?
KC Joyner (4:21 PM)
See, sometimes the real basic questions get answered. Fleener, as he has a much more favorable matchup.
Your father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate [via m
Giants upcoming pass d schedule looks pretty favorable. Would you trade Tavon for Nicks?
KC Joyner (4:22 PM)
That's a great movie but there are so many moments that just can't be quoted in this forum. Would much rather have Nicks, as he has seven green-rated CBs over the rest of his schedule.
Kenny (Chicago)
On the subject of Wilson, when do you think he turns it around?
KC Joyner (4:22 PM)
Philly in Week 5. He's also got them in Week 8 and has two more very favorable matchups after the Giants bye.
Blue/Green Ratings?? (NJ)
You've made reference to players being rated blue or green. What do these mean?
KC Joyner (4:24 PM)
Quick answer is this. Blue rated are elites. Green are every week starters. Yellow are flex/bench candidates. Red are do not start/longshot candidates.
Daniel Simpson Day (whereabouts unknown)
Hi KC - your take on Jordan Cameron ROS, please?
KC Joyner (4:25 PM)
He's been green-rated since Week 2 and even posted great numbers when the Browns changed QBs. No reason to think that grade will diminish long-term.
The radar appears to be .... (JAMMED!)
Who's the better start in a .5 PPR this week? Jennings, SRice, SHill or either Titans WR?
KC Joyner (4:26 PM)
What flavor was that jam? Can't remember. My youngest thinks it was raspberry. Got Rice rated highest.
Looks like I picked the wrong week ((to quit amphetamines))
Had a chance to grade the Falcons CBs? The young rooks seems to be doing a decent job... especially Trufant.
KC Joyner (4:27 PM)
Picked the right week to ask that question. Got them with yellow ratings at the moment but they could get upgraded soon.
Lottery (USA)
Drafted Joique Bell. What is his ROS? Did I hit the jackpot or should I sell?
KC Joyner (4:28 PM)
With Bush's propensity for injury and Bell's ability to post great numbers on a small workload, he's definitely worth keeping. Only sell if you can get strong flex value in return.
The Red Rooster (Awful Wrestling Gimmicks)
Considering Gronk is the Sunday night game, should I play it safe one more week with Julius Thomas?
KC Joyner (4:29 PM)
Speaking of terrible wrestling gimmicks, just got done watching the new HHH DVD. Really good bio doc and it covers his awful early character (HHH says he did that character because he figured "I'd hate this guy" so everyone else would, too). Play it safe and start Thomas.
The Great Debate (Tacos)
1. Hard or soft tacos?2. Heath Miller or Charles Clay
KC Joyner (4:30 PM)
Soft tacos if they are fried in oil. Terrible for the heart, great for the taste buds. Clay is really close to getting a green rating but Miller has a much more favorable matchup, so Miller gets the nod.
Virgil (Your local Fairground/Convention/Parking Lot)
Before I get back to my booth and my legions of fans, what do you think about Bradshaw for this week? Better start than Moreno or Rice?
KC Joyner (4:31 PM)
It's sad to see everyone make fun of Virgil. Even his name is a rib, albeit on Dusty. Rice's grade could drop between now and Sunday depending on the injury news but as it stands now, he's the pick.
Sky Low Low (Looking Up)
0-3..We start 3 Rbs..I have Ridley, Wilson, Lamar Miller, Ellington, Snelling, and Levon Bell..I was offered RUN DMC, Nicks, and Cameron for my Shorts, Ridley, and Dan Graham?? TY
KC Joyner (4:33 PM)
Was he the one whose hair got forcibly cut by Piper and Ace? Not sure who Dan Graham is but am very sold on Nicks and Cameron, so would rather be on that side of the deal.
George The Animal Steel (Fantasy Limbo)
Hey Kc, Im chewing on my fingers like turn buckles over a trade. I was offered the following for Adrian Peterson and Colston. Cruz/ Doug Martin, Morris/Cruz/Snelling or Gore/Dez/ Martellus. Im a Ridley and Wallace owner. I need help! Which offer is the best?
KC Joyner (4:35 PM)
Just listened to a Wrestling Observer podcast with him - really interesting, both the Steele stuff and the Jim Myers stuff. Ridley is a disappointment but trading Peterson away won't help. Wallace will turn things around as well, so I'd suggest staying put.
Scott (Northglenn, CO)
Obviously you like wrasslin', but did you like 'The Wrestler' with Mickey Rourke? Would you trade Knowhson for Ridley? 1/2 PPR
KC Joyner (4:36 PM)
Was OK with that film. We try to avoid depressing movies by and large and that one fit into that category. Could change my mind on this by tomorrow but at the moment would rather have Knowshon than Ridley.
Spaceballs (The Chat) [via mobile]
WR/TE flex, pick 2: Boldin, T. Austin, or take a flyer on Broyles?
KC Joyner (4:38 PM)
It's about time this chat got sponsored! Austin rates highest due to matchup. The other two are basically even, would start Broyles because he's on the better offense.
I don't know any wrestiling references. Jake the Snake? (Milwau
Kaep, Pryor, or Dalton this week?
KC Joyner (4:39 PM)
Hey, the last post was a Spaceballs reference. Movie quotes or any humor in general get preferential treatment as well. Pryor gets the start as long as he starts.
Witty Statement Here (Guess Not)
QB question for you. Wilson, Pryor or Rivers? Darnit, now I'm hungry for tacos.
KC Joyner (4:41 PM)
Yeah, that question did make me starvin' like Marvin. Wilson by a small amount but it's a risk. If you want to play for upside, start Pryor as long he starts.
100 Josh Freeman passes (Catch 22)
Saw Glennon in the preseason and he looked whatever awful awful -- against the 'Skins backups!! Is there a good chance at a big game from AZ D/ST or are they just a bad defense this year?
KC Joyner (4:42 PM)
I changed my ESPN NFL Experts game pick from Tampa Bay to Arizona when Freeman was benched. Glennon has talent but he did look terrible in the preseason and Arizona has the makings of a very good D. It's a risky play due to the cross country trip but it could be an upside pick.
Derrick (FL)
PPR FLEX - Tavon Austin or Gio Bernard?
KC Joyner (4:43 PM)
Second time this has to be said - don't post questions 100 times. It hogs the incoming questions section and blocks everyone's questions. These posts will NEVER get answered.
KC's family (Hungry)
Have you taken us to Chili's lately? RG3 or CK rest of the year?
KC Joyner (4:44 PM)
Not lately but we did go to Buca di Beppo recently. Awesome meal as always. RG3 the rest of the year.
1,2,3,4,5 (Combination to my luggage)
Are you holding onto Percy Harvin in a redraft PPR league?
KC Joyner (4:44 PM)
As long as it doesn't mean turning away another player of high value, sure.
Rowdy Roddy (Scotland)
Are you the smartest ESPN Fantasy Expert. Also, can you give a hint as to why you say the Jets might be the most dominant D. They are available in my league. Drop Minn this week for them?
KC Joyner (4:46 PM)
That's not for me to answer - I just plug away at tape reviews and write a bunch of articles. Jets pass D has been fantastic and their run D has been dominant. Check out the article for more specifics. Would much rather have the Jets than Minnesota this week.
Lars (Massachusetts)
I have Gronk and Jared Cook. Should I start Jared Cook tonight and keep Gronk as a possible flex decision for Sunday afternoon? Or just roll the dice and start Gronk?
KC Joyner (4:47 PM)
Depends on if you need to play for upside. Cook is a mid-range pick this week (yellow rated) and starting Gronk at TE could open up a flex pick for a higher upside pick than Cook. Would lean towards starting Gronk at TE.
Legion of Doom (?)
I can't remember their individual names? Do you? Doug Martin and Gio Bernard finish the season as the ____ and ____ rated RBs.
KC Joyner (4:48 PM)
Either call them Animal and Hawk or Joe and Mike. Martin ends up as a top 10 back, Gio ends up as a top 20 back.
Michael Vick (Philly)
Hey KC! Just wanted to let you know I'm gonna get hurt in week 6. How high is too high to sell me for?
KC Joyner (4:49 PM)
Thanks for the heads up in advance. Vick is green rated so the price should be a quality, every week starter.
Witty Wrestling Name (Somehwere)
Concerned at all about Ap? Thoughts on him for Ray Rice and Fitz in a .5 ppr?
KC Joyner (4:50 PM)
Not really - he started very good but not great last year and then took off. Few players have his kind of upside and that's worth keeping. Rice has injury issues and may end up sharing more PT with Pierce. Fitz is battling an injury. Wouldn't make that trade.
Merchandizing (Merchandizing)
S. Johnson, Colston and Wallace, I need 2. You guys are really making me hungry now.
KC Joyner (4:52 PM)
Hunger does seem to be a theme at the moment. Colston has the toughest matchup of the three but Johnson did not practice Wednesday. Assuming that was nothing serious, SJ and MW get the start. If Johnson's injury is something of note, put Colston in the lineup instead.
Is your # still 911? (Alrighty then)
Was your comment on R WIlson for this week, or a ROS outlook? Thoughts on him going forward? Thanks
KC Joyner (4:53 PM)
This week - a road game at Houston is not the best scenario. Long-term Wilson will be very good.
Bilal "the average talent" (NY)
KC.. the first month of last year all I heard was Alf Morris was a medicore talent, look what he did.. any chance Bilal finishes as a top 15 bCK?
KC Joyner (4:55 PM)
Like Bilal's talent but NY has a GBR of 40.2 percent this year and a team GBYPA of 5.8. Both are terrible numbers that could improve but probably not the point where Bilal finishes top 15. Plus he still could split carries with Ivory.
IRON MAN (Do you like SuperHero's too?)
Are Doug Martin and Alfred Morris going to turn it around and be top 5 rb?s this season? Should I try and trade Julio Jones and Eddie Royal for Charles or Lynch seeing as how RB?s get more points in my league? Also, need to fill a WR spot (.5 PPR) and a FLEX spot, choices are: Royal, Holmes, Sanders, and Pead. Thanks!!
KC Joyner (4:56 PM)
Iron Man rules. Mrs. Scientist just went out and purchased Iron Man 3 so we could all see that movie again (saw it in the theaters a few months back). Lots of questions. Quick hit - top 10-15, not top 5. Trade for Charles would be good. Royal.
3...2...1.... (BUZZER BEATER)
Bradshaw, Givens or Fleener for flex... its a weird combination I know.
KC Joyner (4:57 PM)
Really like Bradshaw's matchup this week so he gets the start even if he ends up platooning carries.
Thor is better (So is Captain America)
Reggie Bush or Arian Foster (PPR)?
KC Joyner (4:59 PM)
Not sure who Mrs. Scientist would pick there. Will ask her and the kids and see what the consensus is for the Joyner household. Bush over Foster by a slight amount in a PPR.
Mr. Perfect (Royal Rumble)
Best chat leader ever! Am I crazy to think about starting Snelling over Gio this week?
KC Joyner (5:00 PM)
Not sure I remember that angle. Snelling has been good but Gio could be turning that backfield into a platoon. He's likely to get more PT so start Gio.
Angry Mike (SF, CA)
Scientist, my man! Sorry got here late. I find I'm using 2 TE's in every league that allows it for a flex. You finding that you're doing the same? The TE's seem so much more reliable than (non top) WRs. Thanks.
KC Joyner (5:02 PM)
Might as well end this on an angry note! The TE strategy does seem to be working well. Lane, a chat regular who is also part of the TFS chat fantasy league, has used that strategy to go 3-0 so far this year.
KC Joyner (5:04 PM)
Well, dinner is almost ready - turns out it's salmon and french fries - will have to cook some tacos tomorrow - so got to hit the road. Couple of quick notes before heading out. Links to the TFS ESPN Insider articles are always posted on Twitter @KCJoynerTFS. I'll be taking part in a FFB chat on ESPN.com from 11 AM-12 noon ET on Sunday morning, so stop by if you can spare the time. Will also be taking part in tonight's in game chat on ESPN.com, so say hello if you can. Thanks again for all of the questions and I hope to see you all here next week!
