KC Joyner (4:00 PM)
Good afternoon! Let's talk some fantasy football!
Your thoughts on playing the Cleveland Defense this week rather than the Bears for Fantasy??
KC Joyner (4:01 PM)
Got Cleveland rated a lot higher than Chicago. Can't want to play a Chicago D facing an offense that is every bit as powerful as Denver's.
Hey KC.. I have the pleasure of owning BOTH Kaepernick and Schaub...is the better go for sunday?? Or should go and get Pryor for the one week fill in??
KC Joyner (4:02 PM)
Is it a pleasure to be a Kaepernick owner right now? Got Schaub rated highest out of that group.
Cactus Jack (Dude Love) (Mankind)
Still think socko might have been one of the best finisher moves around. Would you give MJD one last shot against the awful looking Rams run D? Or take a shot on another big game for Nate Washington? Thanks!
KC Joyner (4:04 PM)
Socko ruled. We actually have one of those in the house, as it was included in the Mick Foley DVD. Got Washington rated higher. Rams D was bad but their issue is effort and not talent and the gut feel says they will show more effort this week.
big john studd (tucson)
pprl s johnson or kendall wright thanks
KC Joyner (4:05 PM)
Key to Studd's in-ring success was Heenan, as he could take bumps that Studd couldn't or wouldn't take. Got Johnson rated slightly higher this week.
Mr. Mackey (South park)
Mmmkay I'm gonna need some guidance mmkay. Somebody in my league dropped Amendola, mmkay, and I thought dropping him was bad. Do I drop Nicks or Edelman to pick him up?
KC Joyner (4:06 PM)
Hard to think of Mr. Mackey playing fantasy football, mmmkay. Drop Edelman to pick up Amendola under the auspices of take the starter over the backup. Stick with Nicks - he's got superb YPA numbers and has a bunch of favorable matchups down the road.
Is a P Manning for Romo, D Williams, and Bowe trade overturnable?
KC Joyner (4:06 PM)
Put it this way - it wouldn't be a trade I'd overturn.
MJD (Notch away from being dropped)
Surely against the Rams I'll show something? What do you think?
KC Joyner (4:07 PM)
Rams D was awful but the Jags O is just as bad. Don't have MJD rated that high this week.
Hola (Smoky Mountains of Kingsport, TN)
Who do I start this week: Flash Gordon, Randall Cobb, Julio Down by School Yard? I can play all three but my backs are TRich, Shady and Sproles? PPR league.
KC Joyner (4:09 PM)
Was just telling my kids how great it was to wake up in Johnson City, TN, walk out the side door of the house and see the mist covering the Smoky Mountains. Can't wait to take them there some day. Toss up between Gordon & Cobb, would start Cobb because he's not on a short week and has a better QB.
Talk to me about Charles Clay. Is he now an every week kind of player in deeper or PPR leagues?
KC Joyner (4:10 PM)
Just moved him to a yellow rating for the rest of the season (yellow meaning he's a potential every week flex option). Definitely has every week flex start potential in deeper & PPR leagues.
Does Hola's league have like 4 teams? Holy Smoky Mountains!
KC Joyner (4:11 PM)
Yeah, that team does seem a bit stocked. It must be him and about 6 people with the FFB talents of Taco.
What to expect from Eddie Lacy? Do I bench Trent Richardson and his mighty 60 yds or less a game. For a guy who has only seen the field once? Or does Trent bounce back and maybe play the foster role and grab a few passes against a stout secondary in a ppr league.
KC Joyner (4:12 PM)
Got Lacy rated very slightly higher than Richardson this week because Lacy's matchup is more favorable. He's got upside potential T-Rich probably doesn't have.
KC... you were a big believer in Nicks, and even recently with his schedule opening up... I have been believing, but it's getting hard, have you soured on your assessment of Nicks, or still buying low and still starting him... say over Moreno in a flex?
KC Joyner (4:14 PM)
Still a believer. Nicks has a double-digit YPA total this year and Manning is throwing deep passes at a similar rate to last year. His matchups are incredibly favorable from here on out (green rated CBs in half of his games) so buy low if you can. Would take him over Moreno.
Travis (Los Angeles)
TFS - love your work, my favorite analyst. Should I trade away Ridley for Shorts?
KC Joyner (4:15 PM)
Hey, thanks. Shorts has shown an ability to produce regardless of his QB situation and the Jags now have Blackmon back in the lineup. Plus, they can't keep Gabbert in there forever (or at least logic says they can't). Ridley is now in what looks like a RBBC situation so Shorts outranks him.
Fred " the Sprained Knee" Jackson or Eric " oops I dropped it again" Decker for Standard Flex position
KC Joyner (4:16 PM)
Sounds like a lot of negative thoughts about two players who have posted pretty good numbers this year. Got them rated equal, would probably start Decker because he's healthier, is not on a short week and isn't facing a strong D.
You like desperate Atlanta D against banged up Jets receivers?
KC Joyner (4:17 PM)
Big time. Have them as the highest rated defense in FFB this week.
Steven (Irvine, CA)
Do I need to include child naming rights or blackmail someone for this trade? What side you like? D. Martin and R. Wayne for R. Bush and Bowe
KC Joyner (4:18 PM)
Humor usually works best. Post something that will make the chatters laugh and it'll get moved to the front ASAP (PG rated laughs, not R rated). Would rather be on the Bush/Bowe side of that deal.
Bengals D/ST still a must start?
KC Joyner (4:19 PM)
Not this week. Got them rated 20th among fantasy D/STs.
KC, what are your thoughts on Daryl Richardson -- is he droppable in a standard 10-team league?
KC Joyner (4:20 PM)
Depends on who he is being dropped for. Wouldn't say an automatic yes to the drop because he's still the most talented of the Stl backs but he's now in a RBBC situation and has a low ceiling.
I'm playing Ferb this week and need a WR3. You like Givens, Blackmon, or Terrance Williams the best? Hey, Where's Perry?
KC Joyner (4:20 PM)
Long time since we've had a P&F quote in the chat! Got Blackmon rated highest among that group.
Josh (Still hungry from last week)
What are your thoughts on Fleener this week? Start him over Witten in a standard league? Could I use Fleener as a flex? So many questions.... so little time.
KC Joyner (4:22 PM)
Been starving for a week? Related note - we had tacos a couple of days later but not the ones where the shells are cooked in oil. Kids aren't big fans of that but Mrs. Scientist and I are, so we'll just have to have a night where we cook both. Not liking Fleener much this week vs. Kam Chancellor but do like Fleener as a flex long-term. Start Witten this week.
Hey KC. Is Wilson going to start throwing soon? He is killing me. Also time to dump Palmer for Pryor as my back up to Wilson keeping in mind we get bonuses for longer td throws. Thanks
KC Joyner (4:23 PM)
Hey, Kmac! Good to hear from you again. Odd thing about Wilson is he's been successful when he throws - he just isn't throwing enough. Seattle's banged up O line is making them run more, as they know the smallest QB in the league won't survive long if they have him drop back behind that O line. Dump Palmer for Pryor, as Palmer's O line issues are nearly as bad as Seattle's.
So do you like Nicks better than say, Brian Hartline this week?
KC Joyner (4:24 PM)
I generally am a big Hartline backer but don't like his matchup this week (facing red-rated Lardarius Webb). Would much rather have Nicks vs. the Philly D.
KC Joyner (4:25 PM)
Mrs. Scientist just said it's Italian night - ravioli and spaghetti. She said dinner is on us if someone will bring breadsticks.
Is Jimmy Graham the most valuable player in fantasy?
KC Joyner (4:26 PM)
Would probably rank him second behind Peyton.
Following up Kmac's question, will Seattle's o-line situation improve any time soon? In other words, will Wilson get better as the season progresses?
KC Joyner (4:27 PM)
Put it this way - if Wilson is available in a league, he's someone worth buying low or investing a waiver pick in. Seattle came into the season wanting to throw more and their O line will get better as it gets healthier. Plus, they may get Harvin back for the stretch run and that will make a huge difference.
I'LL BRING BREADSTICKS! Marshall/Sproles for Charles/White in a .5 PPR. Which side? Thank you!
KC Joyner (4:28 PM)
Well, if you can make it from California to Florida in the next hour or so, you are welcome for dinner. Would rather be on the Marshall/Sproles side of that deal in a PPR.
Larry (THE AXE) Hennig (Minnesota)
Have Russell Wilson...Should i drop him and stream my QB's...guys like Flacco, Big Ben, bradford, Pryor , and Schaub all on the wire or do i pick one up to start this week and hold onto Wilson? Use #3 WW on Pierre Thomas? TY
KC Joyner (4:30 PM)
Roddy Piper's first match was against The Ax. He said it set a record for the shortest match ever in that arena. Would hold on to Wilson for the late season value if possible but for the short term (i.e. this week) Schaub rates highest.
At your front door (WITH BREADSTICKS)
T-Rich/Gordon for Forte...Which side????
KC Joyner (4:30 PM)
More with the breadsticks. Would rather be on the T-Rich/Gordon side.
Bringing Dessert!! (KC, Cali)
PPR league Hoyer, Bradford or Luck this week?
KC Joyner (4:31 PM)
Sounds like we have some hungry chatters out here. Got Luck rated highest, as the Seattle D is very good but it can be beaten.
Al Stone (Great jobber)
Big trade..I would give up V Jackson/J Blackmon/L Miller/CJ Spiller for M Forte/J Nelson. Thanks!
KC Joyner (4:33 PM)
I think that's Al Snow - he of the famous "Pin me, pay me" t-shirt. And for being the butt of Mick Foley's jokes. Would rather be on the Forte/Nelson side of that deal, at least as long as the rest of the lineup is solid.
Cut Bradshaw now or wait to find out more about his neck?
KC Joyner (4:33 PM)
Injured player who could quickly fall even further behind a talented bell cow starter in T-Rich - sounds like a cut candidate if you can find someone worth dropping him for.
How you feel about Gio Bernard the rest of the way? Feature back?
KC Joyner (4:34 PM)
BJGE got more PT last week but it's obvious this offense is moving to find out how much PT Gio can deal with. He'll be a platoon back for the Bengals at the very least and a strong flex/good RB2 in FFB.
I'll make it simple Eli or Pryor?
KC Joyner (4:35 PM)
John must have had a late lunch. Eli, as many of his metrics indicate this Giants O is on the verge of a turnaround.
Jeremy (Hockey Town)
Prediction, please: Percy Harvin starts week X and is top-Y rest of the way.
KC Joyner (4:37 PM)
Got to get a Hockeytown post in with the start of the hockey season. Total guess but would think Harvin comes back around Week 12 or 13 and is a top 30 player the rest of the way.
KC Joyner (4:37 PM)
Among WR/RBs - think of him as a flex candidate.
MAGNUM T A (AWA)
Use #3 WW on Pierre Thomas? TY
KC Joyner (4:38 PM)
Don't remember Magnum in the AWA. Do remember him having great battles with Nikita Koloff and Tully Blanchard. Not sold on Thomas, as he could be a RB3 in NO's backfield with the advent of Khiry Robinson.
Giants O on the verge? Do you think Wilson is a RB2 ROS?
KC Joyner (4:40 PM)
The Giants faced three of the top 7 run defenses so far this year and the schedule is much more favorable from here on out. Got Wilson as a RB2 this week and for most of the ROS.
Stuck at work (San Pedro)
Who do you like more Lamar Miller or B. Powell this week?
KC Joyner (4:41 PM)
This chat once again takes away a bunch of productive work time. Miller in large part because the Jets pass O woes will allow Atlanta to concentrate fully on stopping the run.
Saints only plugged Robinson since the score got out of hand. Pulled key palyers mid 2nd half!
KC Joyner (4:42 PM)
Yeah, and Robinson played pretty well. Like his upside ROS.
KC Joyner (4:42 PM)
Related note - also like Benny Cunningham's performance last Thursday. Another deep league flyer.
Travis (Punching Time)
Is Brandon Jacobs worth a pickup with this Coughlin news about the ol" 1-2 punch?
KC Joyner (4:43 PM)
Thought at first that meant punching out. Would think the Giants turn the offense into a lead/alternate situation with Wilson as the lead and Jacobs as the alternate. That gives Jacobs some potential flex value.
Come on give me something on Rashad Jennings... Fred Jackson plays tonight (maybe) and I need to know who the better play is in PPR.
KC Joyner (4:44 PM)
Not sold on the Raiders run game. Would start Jackson.
Kansas City Joyners (Kaaansas)
What is your explanation for having ATL as the highest rated defense? You have KC, Car and Clev which look like way better matchups this week.
KC Joyner (4:46 PM)
Can't say I've ever been to Kansas City. Will have to visit and see how many KC labeled items there are. The Jets won't have either starting WR, could be missing a starting RB, have a struggling rookie QB who will be on the road against a loud crowd on Monday night. Add that to facing a talented team in desperate need of a win and it just sounds like a recipe for FFB dominance.
Cowboy Bob Orton (Dr's office, re-plaster)
Marshall for Gordon/D-Will in .5 PPR. D-Will is bye week fill-in RB3.
KC Joyner (4:48 PM)
His cast gimmick was the best. Especially when he and Piper went to visit the doctor about it and the doctor said there was no break in the forearm and Piper, in his craziest voice, said the doctor was obviously a quack. Classic moment! Tough call without knowing the rest of the lineup but am leaning towards the Gordon/D-Will side of that trade being better.
Walter White (GY)
Who should I play at flex CJ2K, S.Smith or MJD? TD heavy league.
KC Joyner (4:49 PM)
Mrs. Scientist and I have got to sit down and watch that series. Hearing too many awesome things about it. For a TD heavy league, it would have to be Smith, as CJ is taken out in GL situations and MJD likely won't see many TD situations.
KC, need your help before the wife sees me on the computer... PPR start three of Woodhead, McGahee, Blackmon, Tavon. Thanks!
KC Joyner (4:50 PM)
This balances out the bad karma that comes from costing people work time. Would start Woodhead, Blackmon and Tavon.
John (Bolton England)
How soon do you think Nate Burleson comes back?
KC Joyner (4:51 PM)
As soon as his pizza gets delivered. Which should be in about 3-5 weeks. Would think it would be after Detroit's Week 9 bye.
The Mad Chef (NY)
Tight end bottom barrel choice? McGrath, Graham, Clark, Gresham
KC Joyner (4:51 PM)
Clark. He's close to being upgraded to a yellow rating and has a very favorable matchup this week.
Linda (Maple Shade, NJ)
Why do people use some many abbreviations for there fantasy guys? Creepy?
KC Joyner (4:52 PM)
It probably has more to do with trying to type the name in quickly on a smart phone. Speed, not creepiness.
Stone Cold (Top Rope with 6 Pack)
Rivers or Cam this week.... Do I really have to start Rivers...
KC Joyner (4:53 PM)
I hope the rumors of him returning for WrestleMania to face CM Punk are true. Start Rivers - he was nearly upgraded to a blue rating this week (never thought I'd write those words).
Deep Dish was worth it. FLEX (pick 2): Julius Thomas, Sproles, Jennings, DeAngelo (.5 PPR)
KC Joyner (4:54 PM)
We never did find out if the pizza survived the wreck. Let's hope so. Thomas and Sproles.
Am I crazy for starting Rivers over Matty Ice? What about Miller over Ridley?
KC Joyner (4:55 PM)
Not crazy. NY's offense is bad but their D is very good. And Rivers is on the verge of a blue rating. Got Miller rated much higher than Ridley this week.
Creepy abbreviator (Sorry Linda)
KC, start one of the following in a PPR: DBowe, FJax, BHartline, JBlackmon.
KC Joyner (4:56 PM)
You guys need to show up for the Sunday morning chats - people just aren't in a funny mood at that time and these types of posts could help humor that chat up :-)Got Bowe rated highest - really like his matchup this week.
Missy (Jacksonville FL)
M Schaub over A Smith - wavier wire empty in a 12 team league
KC Joyner (4:58 PM)
My hair stylist's name is Missy - she's the only person I've found who can make my hair look good. Can't recommend her highly enough if you are in Orlando and looking for a good haircut. Got Schaub rated higher this week.
KC Joyner (Seriously)
Why no love the 5 different chats I used the many faces of Mankind as a name? I even included a 'Have a nice Day!' C'Mon Man
KC Joyner (4:59 PM)
Hey, I'm all for Mankind quotes! Just didn't see the question.
What does KC stand for in your name? If i wanna pair brees with jimmygraham, Who should i give up to get jimmy graham? I hv demaryius, jordy, dougmartin, lammarmiller, gronkowksi.. Or i should leave my line up just as is. Thks
KC Joyner (5:01 PM)
I might have to take the CM Punk approach here. He has a bunch of things that CM stands for (Chicago Made, Crooked Moonsault) even though the initial initially stood for Chick Magnet (seriously). Keep DT and JN. Consider trading Gronk and Miller but don't expect the other owner to say yes. Getting Graham now is buying high and you won't want to pay the price the other owner is likely to ask for.
Nicholas Brody (Can't tell you)
Breaking Bad is overrated. Watch Homeland instead. Which of these players would you drop D Richardson for: Blount, Pead, Stacy, Bolden, Ellington, R Jennings?
KC Joyner (5:03 PM)
Got to try and get a starter or at least the closest approximation. That would be Stacy, as he's likely to get dibs on D-Rich's No. 1 spot.
MARI IL [via mobile]
KC IM BACK! with that said i was offered morris and boldin for megatron and lamar miller i have bowe shorts and hopkins left at wr and charles wilson and sproles at rb PLEASE ANSWER
KC Joyner (5:04 PM)
Good to have you back in the chat! Now take a moment and breathe and relax. You'll be fine at RB when Wilson turns things around (which will be soon). Keep Megatron and Miller.
George the Animal Steele (Turnbuckle-ville)
Nicholas is CRAZY! Homeland is garbage compared to BB - what's Woodhead's value ROS? Drop Joique Bell for him? (I need a RB I can use down the road - have Shady, Spiller, D.Wilson and Bell right now)
KC Joyner (5:06 PM)
We may have to watch an episode of both. Though what we are really looking for is an awesome comedy series. Just looked at Detroit's run D matchups ROS and they are brutal. SD's are much more favorable so keep Woodhead.
Hungry (at work)
What do you think of giving up Woodhead for Marshall? I have Lynch, Forte, Gore and D-rich at RB, JNelson, TSmith, SRice and BHarline at WR?
KC Joyner (5:10 PM)
Good way to end it, as the kids are setting the table up for dinner as I write this. And no one showed up with breadsticks! Assuming that means Brandon Marshall, it's a no brainer deal if you are on the Marshall side. Many, many thanks for the great questions. Most fun I've had in a chat this season! Couple of quick notes - links to the TFS ESPN Insider articles are always posted on Twitter @KCJoynerTFS. I'll be taking part in an in-game chat tonight on ESPN.com, so stop by and say hey if you have some time. Will be hosting a FFB chat on ESPN.com from 11AM -12 noon Sunday morning, so please stop by there and post some humorous/interesting questions!
