KC Joyner (4:01 PM)
Good afternoon! Let's talk some fantasy football!
Joe (Det mi)
Hey KC really like your statistical breakdown of players, that being said, wondering if I'm nuts to start R Wilson over Brady based on their rankings, and in a PPR LEAGUE would you start Ruebon Randle over T-Rich or Jacobs? Thx
KC Joyner (4:03 PM)
Hello Detroit! Just did an ESPN Insider on the why the Lions are legit playoff contenders, glad to see the old home team do well. Brady is struggling but he still rates higher this week than Wilson. Randle does rate higher than those other two, albeit with risk.
24 inch Pythons (Flexville)
Whatcha gonna do brotha! non ppr best RB and flex out of: Gore,R.Bush,Lacy or A.Foster(scared of keenum here)? Thanks
KC Joyner (4:05 PM)
Just saw an old Johnny Carson clip where Hogan appeared on The Tonight Show back in his AWA days. Cool stuff. Gore rates best, could start the other two over Foster (Keenum is scary but so is the Chiefs D).
Macho Man Randy Savage (Valhalla)
Heeeeeeey. Is David Wilson droppable for a handcuff like Bryce Brown if I own Shady McCoy? I can't get anyone to bite, even for a WR4.
KC Joyner (4:06 PM)
Would keep Wilson. He'll have almost certain value later this year, whereas Brown may very well not provide any value sans an injury to Shady.
Sandra (Floating with a Taco)
Hey KC, I've got T. Williams and picked up H. Douglas this week. Which one should I start?
KC Joyner (4:07 PM)
Like it! Creative way to tie in the movie and dinner chat topics. Douglas actually rates higher because of his matchup.
Pete (Scranton, PA)
Someone dumped Roddy White. Should i drop one of these for him? Dez, Blackmon, TY, or Keenan. Can only have 4 total WR in the league.
KC Joyner (4:08 PM)
Stay put. All of those players have a lot of value and White may not have a lot of value due to his injury.
KC Joyner (4:09 PM)
Side note - if anyone is in a league where Keenan Allen is available, do yourself a favor and go get him on your roster. Like, right now. The chat will still be here when you get back but Allen might not and he is going to be a very good fantasy player the rest of the year.
First Time Dad (Excited!)
Best thing that has ever happened to me! Crazy to start H. Douglas for D. Bowe or M. Wallace? Non PPR
KC Joyner (4:11 PM)
Congrats! Fatherhood is the most difficult, time consuming task one can ever take on but it is also by far the most rewarding. Got Douglas rated higher than Bowe but have Wallace rated highest out of that group.
The Iron Shiek (Camel Clutch)
Trade ? = NonPPR lg. I'd get Torrey Smith & I'd trade away Gio Bernard...Is this a good deal to make going forward ROS? Thoughts? Thanks!
KC Joyner (4:12 PM)
Just read somewhere that Hogan was the first person to break the Camel Clutch. Find that hard to believe, as someone had to have broken that hold for a storyline at some other point of TIS's career. Gio is really good but he's a platoon RB and likely will stay in that role ROS. As long as the RB portion of your roster is strong, it's a good trade to make.
funny you mention about allen - I picked him up and then traded him for T Rich - oops
KC Joyner (4:13 PM)
Hey, the Indy O line can run block quite well. Might not be a bad deal, especially if your WR corps is solid.
Just picked up Keenan (Thanks)
WOuld you put him in at flex over B. Jacobs or Z. Stacy? Non PPR.
KC Joyner (4:14 PM)
Your welcome! For a flex spot, sure would put Allen in over those two.
RVD (Frog Splash!!!!)
Who would you rather flex: Bush or Gordon?
KC Joyner (4:15 PM)
Bummer that his recent WWE tenure seems to be going south. My youngest was becoming a RVD fan. Bush over Gordon by a slight amount this week.
What is Emmanuel Sanders' color rating for the ROS? He seems to essentially be Pittsburgh's WR1B, sharing targets pretty evenly with Antonio Brown.
KC Joyner (4:16 PM)
Got Sanders with a yellow rating right now. Pittsburgh will want to start moving some targets away from Brown at some point and that could make Sanders an even stronger FFB candidate down the road.
Larry Fitzgerald or keenon allen in my flex?
KC Joyner (4:16 PM)
Fitz has a tough matchup. Allen rates higher this week.
despite a 1-5 record, i really like my team ROS. pulled a lot of big moves in the last couple weeks. WRs VJax, DJax, Nicks, Allen, w/ Rivers @ QB. my HBs though, while top 20, are underwhelming, TRich and FJax ... flip a WR for HB help?
KC Joyner (4:17 PM)
Been getting this type of question (bad record, great lineup) a lot of late. TRich will get better ROS but with that strength at WR, making a move for 3rd strong RB looks to be the right move.
Trying to get a SOLID RB for ROS, so I'm putting together a combo trade. Who should I give away, Ray or Doug?
KC Joyner (4:18 PM)
Doug - he's got a rookie QB and an OL out with MRSA.
SUPER FLY SNUKA (OFF THE TOP ROPE)
hey,KC.....need help picking a RB2 n FLEX....my options are (rb)-Ridley,Lamar,Stacy,(wr)-Wallace n Allen...who would you go to battle with this week?... and should i avoid Amendola he is on my waiver???.... thanks!
KC Joyner (4:20 PM)
Hey, when asking a Snuka question, it has to be off the top of the cage, not the top rope! Where's the Magnificent Muraco when you need him? Got Lamar rated highest for the RB2. Allen for flex. Only go for Amendola if you can handle the injury risk.
Rowdy Roddy Piper (Still wearing my kilt)
With Cecil Shorts probably not playing and Cobb out for an extended period of time I'm having to piece together my lineup, please help me... pick 3 (I need at least 2WR) Edelman, T.Smith, A.Jeffery, Gio Bernard, and D.Williams. Thank You. Go Seahawks
KC Joyner (4:21 PM)
Still can't understand why Piper stopped being a heel. He was a good babyface but was an all-time great heel. Would go Jeffery, Smith and Williams.
CM Punk (Chicago)
Does Tom Brady have any shot at returning to his "Best in the World" self?
KC Joyner (4:23 PM)
Brady was just lowered to a yellow rating, which is something I didn't think was possible. He's apt to get back to a green rating soon (he'll get into sync with these WRs at some point and will get Gronk back - hopefully) but to get back to being the best - that's not likely to happen. Put it this way - he's not going to be as good as Peyton any time soon.
Can you smell? (Dwayne's Kitchen)
Are you ready to sell Sproles? Hasn't been what we thought he'd be. Is Spiller a good trade partner?
KC Joyner (4:24 PM)
Sproles has fallen off after a good start but it seems to be a sell low moment for him. Spiller could be a good trade but you may want to wait one more week for Sproles, as his value would shoot back up after a double-digit performance.
Willy Wonka (Chocolate Factory)
Snelling, S. Greene, or Bolden at super-deep league desperation RB2? Free candy bar if you answer my question, golden ticket not guaranteed.
KC Joyner (4:26 PM)
My kids get a kick out of the classic version of that movie (Gene Wilder rules). Those are some slim pickings - would go with Snelling.
Happy Gilmore (9th green at 9:00)
Thoughts on Ridley this week and ROS?
KC Joyner (4:27 PM)
He's still the best RB on NE's roster. The Jets are a very tough matchup this week and keep him value low for Week 7. ROS will be hit/miss as NE varies between green and red rated matchups.
The iron claw (wrestling heaven)
This move needs a comeback. So does my team -- not a blockbuster, but being offered Den. Moore and C.Ivory for St. Johnson and B.Brown (and he is not a handcuff for me). I think I like this but can you advise?
KC Joyner (4:29 PM)
Totally agree. Heck, all submission holds need to make a comeback. Trouble is the way to get those moves over is to use them in squash matches and those matches pretty much don't exist anymore. Would rather be on the Moore side of that trade, as he just got upgraded to a green rating and is the only green rated player of that quartet. As long as you are on the Moore side of the trade, go for it.
Andy Kaufman (Wrestling Women)
Which D are you liking this weekend? I'm torn. Bears, Panthers or Dolphins? Thanks, KC!
KC Joyner (4:31 PM)
For those who haven't seen it, check out the documentary on Andy Kaufman's days of wrestling women. Funniest part of the deal - he actually did that as a way to meet girls (true story). Got the Dolphins rated highest this week out of that trio.
SUPER FLY SNUKA (OFF THE TOP OF THE CAGE)
KC,need to drop a player....hold onto COBB or drop WALLACE???....got to make a move week 9 for a TE and week 10 for a defense i own HOU dont wanna drop them ....and thanks again!!!
KC Joyner (4:33 PM)
Don't normally answer two questions from the same person, but you got the Snuka cage quote corrected so had to send along props. Keep Wallace over Cobb, both from a weekly value perspective (Wallace will post some good games) and the idea that holding onto an injured player over a healthy one is not recommended.
Wendy Richter (Girls Just wanna have FF)
Wrassle this KC! Best WR this week in non ppr: Decker,Garcon,K.Allen or Torrey S.?
KC Joyner (4:35 PM)
Sounds like a potential Cyndi Lauper song remake. Mrs. Scientist is a big Lauper fan, so that would go over well in the Joyner household. Decker wins that one as he has the most favorable matchup.
Frustrated Rice Owner (TX)
Deal Ray Rice and Garcon for MLynch? Still have Dez, DThomas, TSmith and Keenan at wr
KC Joyner (4:35 PM)
Would normally say no but that is a stocked roster of WRs. Make the move.
ONE MAN GANG (FL)
Hey KC, should I start Josh Gordon or K. Allen this week? I really want to start Allen but the fact they are playing the Jags makes me think they won't have to throw that much. GB's defense has been shutting down WR's lately but the Browns should be throwing a lot... Thoughts?
KC Joyner (4:37 PM)
Funny thing - I've got the Mid-South DVD on my work desk and there is a picture of OMG on the back that is facing me as I write this. Allen will be facing either a injured starting CB or a backup so he gets the nod in that one.
The Blue Meanie ((somewhere in the back))
Bilal Powell, HIlton, or Thompkins. Who gives the most help rest of the year?
KC Joyner (4:38 PM)
Old school ECW - love it! Hilton has more favorable matchups than Thompkins so he gets the nod.
Mrs. Cleaver (Row 18, Seat 3C)
Cut me some slack, Jack. Jimmy Graham on a bye. Do I use Jordan Reed, Dallas Clark or the new guy TE from Tampa?
KC Joyner (4:39 PM)
Might be the funniest line in the funniest movie of all time. Reed rates highest among that group.
Miss Elizabeth (Your Corner!)
Pick one: V. Brown, M. Brown or M. Williams? WR3 .25 ppr. Thank you!
KC Joyner (4:41 PM)
Mrs. Scientist would be none too happy to see that (assuming we are talking Elizabeth in her prime and not as a zombie). Marlon Brown rates highest among that trio.
Astronaut (Lk Zurich (Sandra Bullock's hometown))
Your thoughts on running QBs. Vick got hurt, Kaep, Cam not doing much, but Pryor and Wilson getting some good fantasy points lately. Is it something to count on now from the last two, or do matchups, o-line injuries, etc. make it too unpredictable? Is it a sure ticket to eventual injury? (Manuel, Hoyer being textbook examples.)
KC Joyner (4:42 PM)
That hometown has a lot to be proud of. Did a review of mobile QBs for Insider during the preseason. Nutshell - don't overvalue rushing ability. Wilson will get Harvin back sooner rather than later so his value will likely be best out of that group.
Dark Helmet (Spaceball One)
Going against Barf this week and I really want to win... What are your thoughts on Foles this weekend? Better play than Wilson tonight?
KC Joyner (4:43 PM)
Mrs. Scientist just found a t-shirt online that says "Good is Dumb". Think that's going to be under the tree on Christmas. Like Foles over Wilson in that the Dal-Phi game is likely to be a shootout.
Ender (Wishing Books 2 and 3 Were Better)
This is my favorite weekly chat! Standard league flex: Clay, Ellington or T. Williams? Also, I got lucky and picked up D. Murray off the WW but had to drop R. Jennings. Was this a good pickup?
KC Joyner (4:45 PM)
Can't say I'm too familiar with the Ender book series - will have to check that out. Murray for Jennings was a good move. Got Clay rated highest among that group. Quick note on Ellington - he's not quite as strong of a FFB prospect as Allen but he's another potentially valuable FA pickup.
in regards to your Lions piece, imagine what they could've been had the somehow landed Welker (like you mentioned pre-season) ...
KC Joyner (4:46 PM)
Quick side note - too true. And think how that would have impacted Denver.
From the Training Room (PA)
Putting the pieces back together after losing Julio, Cobb, and Murray. Who do you like at Flex this week: Jacobs, Spiller, Douglas, or Thompkins?
KC Joyner (4:47 PM)
Two words - bru and tal. Awful to see a good lineup fall apart that quickly. Got Thompkins rated highest but it is a risky play. Jacobs would be second on the list if you want to avoid the Thompkins risk.
Do you have Welker rated blue or green?
KC Joyner (4:48 PM)
Green. All Denver WRs and Julius rate as green right now.
Running Backs are people too (backfield)
have Spiller and T-Rich (pause for tear slowly rolling down my cheek)...ppr thinking of playing Ogboyonna over both of them. Thoughts?
KC Joyner (4:49 PM)
Start TRich - the Indy O line is very good at run blocking and Richardson started showing some burst against SD on MNF. Stick with him.
Just got tickets (Royal Rumble)
Hey, KC. If Allen is my 4th receiver, behind D.Thomas, Marshall and Green, do I keep him as insurance in PPR or trade him to upgrade at TE (I have Reed and Wright) Thanks!
KC Joyner (4:51 PM)
Congrats! The WWE looks to be making this PPV a lot better than the last two (the Wrestling Observer/Figure Four podcast couldn't say enough bad things about the last PPV) so it should be a fun show. Depends on what you can get for Allen but unless it's a green rated TE (Gonzo, Gates, Davis, Cameron, Thomas or, risky pick, Gronk), don't make the move.
Jerry "the King" Lawler (2nd rope diving fist drop)
"You know how I impress girls at the gym? I do pull ups: I pull up in a Corvette, in a Cadillac, and in a Mercedes."anyways, who should i start in my flex this week, non ppr Garcon, Decker or BlackmonThanks!
KC Joyner (4:52 PM)
That's the King - do anything to impress a girl! Got Decker rated highest due to the most favorable matchup.
Booker T (Most Underappreciated Wrestler Ever)
Any word on Nicks being traded soon? I already have Blackmon, Green, V. Jax and was thinking about trading him for an upgrade at TE or RB
KC Joyner (4:54 PM)
Sounds like you are set at WR so go ahead and make a deal. Just be sure to get a green rated TE or a RB2/flex caliber RB out of the deal.
I Dont Have a Funny Name..... (Somewhere)
Trade Ridley for Lacy???
KC Joyner (4:54 PM)
Somehow taking the no humor approach turned out to be a bit funny. Would make that trade, as Lacy is going to be a bell cow and Ridley might not be.
IU Hoosiers (Coaches top 25!)
Quick hit to finish. Flex spot: T rich, Torrey Smith, Keenen Allen?
KC Joyner (4:56 PM)
Not quite finished yet but wanted to post this shout out to IU. Allen wins out of that trio.
You Only YOLO Once (TX)
Dreaming of my first answered question! What do you think of this RB trip for ROS - Frank Gore, Lamar Miller, and Deangelo Williams?? Should I try to move two of them to upgrade to a better single RB?
KC Joyner (4:58 PM)
Guess we'd have to call that YOYOLO - sounds like a new car model. Gore is green rated so unless you could move him for a blue rated RB (very unlikely), he's not worth trading. Turning Miller and Williams (yellow-rated RBs) into a green-rated RB might work but you'll have to keep in mind bye weeks.
J,E, double F J,A, double R, E, double T ((new music video set)
my reference is too good not to get posted! in trouble in deep league at wr... stephen hill if talib is out, or boykin if james jones is out? Thanks. "Hold me in your arms never let me, goooo"
KC Joyner (4:59 PM)
Jeff Jarrett - maybe the worst member of The Four Horsemen. Boykin - go with the WR with the better QB.
BREAKING NEWS (Tennessee)
Shonn Greene expected to take 15-20 snaps on Sunday. Does that elevate him to top 35 RB status?
KC Joyner (5:00 PM)
It might but does anyone really think Tennessee is going to run the ball that much against SF? Would take that news with a grain of salt.
Am I the only one who thinks B. Cowher looks like Sgt. Slaughter
Z stacy or M Wallace?M Floyd or T Williams?
KC Joyner (5:01 PM)
Never made that connection before. Will have to kick that around a bit - Sgt. Cowher? Wallace over Stacy, Williams over Floyd.
No shame in last picked... (TN)
If you had to start one, who would it be: Fred Jackson, Willis McGahee or Brandon Jacobs?
KC Joyner (5:02 PM)
No shame at all. Would start Jackson over Jacobs (by a slight amount).
KC Joyner (5:04 PM)
Well, that was a very fun hour! Thanks for all of the interesting, humorous and creative questions. Some quick notes before heading out. Links to the TFS ESPN Insider articles are always posted on Twitter @KCJoynerTFS. I'll be taking part in a TNF in-game chat this evening, so stop by and say hello if you have some free time. I'll also be hosting a FFB chat on ESPN.com from 11AM-12 noon on Sunday morning, so please stop by there as well. Thanks again and I hope to see you all here next week!
