Stephania bell (11:49 AM)
Hi gang - joining you shortly!
Hi Stephania. What can you tell us about the Kobe injury and the official timetable for him to return?
Stephania bell (12:06 PM)
Dan: It's hard to say anything with certainty since it will be predicated on his healing, but the good news is this is not the type of thing that will require surgery, very small fracture most likely and if they're keeping him weight bearing (which I presume they are, he's not on crutches, etc), then as he feels better in a few weeks, they'll let him push the envelope. Think early February as when he may start to get more aggressive with activity.
Any concern with Edelman getting touches now that Dobson and Thompkins are supposedly back?
Stephania bell (12:08 PM)
Jed: Not counting on Dobson or Thompkins for sure yet, although they both appear to have a chance. Clearly the more folks on the field, the more hands available to deliver the ball to but Edelman still retains his value in terms of frequency of targets.
Matt (Los Angeles)
Morning, Stephania! What are your thoughts on AP? Saw that he missed practice yesterday for treatment. Do you think that means he aggravated the mid-foot during practice?
Stephania bell (12:09 PM)
Morning Matt: No, was a prescribed rest day to allow him to get some treatment, take some reps off and allow him to be available for Sunday. Plan as of now is for him to play.
What's the latest on Jordan Cameron concusion..should I just play Pitta or pick up Z.Miller vs Cardinals D that's given up 15 td's to TE's this season?
Stephania bell (12:10 PM)
Carlos: Don't expect Cameron to play. I like Pitta this week. He said last week's sharp drop in targets was a function of the flow of the game (and his hip feels fine). Look for him to have a better week this week.
Hello Stephania. In the case of the injury fill-ins, who do you like better for a PPR flex? Todman or Caldwell? I'm leaning Todman due to guaranteed touches against a horrible Titans run D. Thanks for your work this year!
Stephania bell (12:12 PM)
Erick: Thank you! I'm leaning Todman too. We're still waiting to hear whether MJD is active or not. He's scheduled to test his hamstring today. My worry is that he'll go ahead and be active, perhaps take enough touches away from Todman to devalue him while not stifling him, but still lower his value. I want to see what the report is on MJD but I think I still lean towards Todman.
hi stephania! let me just say you are my favorite member of the 06010 by a mile. should i be worried about tony g since it's a monday night game? or will he show up despite the injury as he has been doing?
Stephania bell (12:14 PM)
Phil: Why thank you. Yes, expect Tony G to show up just as he has been thus far. He is as tough as they come and after committing to the season, you know he wants to take the field whenever he can as his career winds down. Last game at Candlestick, last Monday night game for him, he's playing.
Les (E Windsor, NJ)
What is the status of Flacco for this Sunday?
Stephania Bell (12:15 PM)
Les: Expect him to play. He'll be wearing a brace for support but he practiced with it and doesn't seem to mind it. He may be a little less mobile but will have some extra protection.
How is Joe Haden and is Cleveland a solid D this week against NYJ @home with or without Haden? Merry, early Christmas and going to miss chatting with you :.(
Stephania Bell (12:20 PM)
Perry: Merry Christmas to you as well! I still have chats through next week..although I realize for many the fantasy season comes to a close this weekend.Haden is going to be a gametime decision. He did make it back to practice today (dealing with a hip pointer which was so sore he was having trouble sleeping early in the week) so we'll see how much work he ends up doing and how he feels afterward. The Jets do turn the ball over a fair amount so I expect Cleveland to still be a solid D, but they're obviously better with Haden. Just not sure he goes.
Love the Stephania Bell / 3 Stooges show (06010). Will Cobb play at all before the playoffs.
Stephania Bell (12:22 PM)
EC: hahahaha...I am not confident that he will. Coming off a slowly progressing tibial plateau fracture and just getting cleared to run last week, not really in game shape yet. Certainly don't expect him this week, maybe an outside chance for next week. If the Packers' postseason hopes go away, I think his chances fo playing in Week 17 go away too.
Billy In Philly (Well, Duh)
Hey Stefania... can you provide an update on Daniel Thomas? I have Lamar Miller and wondering whether to start him over Steven Jackson this week... or I could pickup Dennis Johnson. Thanks.
Stephania Bell (12:25 PM)
Billy: Thomas is back on the injury report because of his ankle - you know, the injury that was supposed to potentially end his season but didn't when he came back and had a career game after Miller suffered a concussion - but it's unclear just how limiting it is right now. Apparently he aggravated it late in Week 15 and it appears he will be questionable heading into the game. I still start a healthier Miller over Jackson (who's running vs 49ers). And probably over Dennis Johnson too.
any real concern about Eddie Lacy?
Stephania Bell (12:26 PM)
Ben: Not really. Let's put it this way. It sounds like there's every expectation he will start. The question is how much the ankle bothers him in the game. Hasn't seemed to limit his productivity so far. No one is benching him.
It's been quiet on Reggie Bush this week. Is he good to go? I also have AP & Le'veon Bell and am trying to figure out which 2.
Stephania Bell (12:28 PM)
Tom: Bush not even on the injury report (so far) this week so the calf must be feeling better. Pretty nice matchup for him as well.
I know Fitz is most likely going to play...but I am leaning towards Crabtree over Fitz considering the match up as well as his concussion issue from last week. Am I over thinking it?
Stephania Bell (12:30 PM)
MD: No, not in this case. It does look like FItz plays but as you know, following a concussion you always want to be sure the player takes the field. Palmer is banged up now with an ankle injury to go with his sore elbow. And then the game is in Seattle. Not favorable. I'd probably go with Crabtree too.
whats the latest on a. rogers?
Stephania Bell (12:30 PM)
Not expected to play.
Both CIN and DET have been banged up on defense. Based on health and matchup who would you start of the two for the championship?
Stephania Bell (12:33 PM)
Dan: I go with Detroit. The Giants just offer up turnovers so easily. And Cinci is definitely dealing with health issues. Think Minnesota will run quite a bit against them too and that could become a problem.
Pick 1 for flex: Colston, Andre Brown, Woodhead, DJohnson, JBell. Thanks!
Stephania Bell (12:36 PM)
Ryan: Wouldn't have said this 3 weeks ago but it's Colston. Even vs Carolina. I like Bell too, even with a healthy Reggie Bush. Think he finds his way into the end zone.
Can we rely on AP's superhuman healing ability for the championship? I hope he can go since a Fantasy Championship may be the only kind he can win in his career...
Stephania Bell (12:37 PM)
Mark: I do think he's going to play. He was already doing some drills late last week.
Santa Claus (North Pole)
Stephania if you answer I will leave you something extra under the tree. Edelman or Stacy in standard flex spot?
Stephania Bell (12:38 PM)
Well, in that case Santa...I'd go with Stacy.
Jamal (Baton Rouge)
Hey Stephania. Your second favorite Columbia Grad is in a bind wih Cameron not expected to play and the wire is slim pickings. Would you go with Myers, Eiffert, M. Lewis, or Cumberland. Yea I know ugh.
Stephania Bell (12:41 PM)
Jamal: Ugh is right. Lewis does have a touchdown in each of his last 3 games. Guess you could call him the hot hand amongst these choices. Sooooo...probably where I'd roll the dice.
Just and FYI, Jordan Camerson has officially been ruled OUT
Stephania Bell (12:42 PM)
Jimmy: Yes, he has. Thanks for the note. Stevie Johnson of the Bills has also formally been ruled out.
Whats Jermaine Gresham's status? Might have to play Eifert if Cameron can't go.
Stephania Bell (12:43 PM)
K: Gresham has been practicing in full the last two days and it sure looks as if he will play.
Stephania Bell (12:45 PM)
Have to run folks. Thanks so much for stopping by. I always enjoy the chat. If you play into Week 17, or even if you don't but just want to drop by, I'll be here at the usual chat times next week. Good luck to those of you playing in championships!!
