KC Joyner (4:02 PM)
Good afternoon! Let's talk some fantasy football!
Hey KC, love your work and am a weekly reader.Last year KC and Carolina D seemed to come out of nowhere and were 2 of the top Fantasy D's for most the year. Any thoughts on which D's will come out of nowhere and end up ranked in the top 5 by years end?PS, Megatron >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Wallace
KC Joyner (4:03 PM)
Might as well get he Megatron comment in on question 1. Browns D could fit that bill.
Confused Dan (Sydney)
Hey, where can I find Jeremy Gallon in ESPN's fantasy drafts? I want to add him to my team but he doesn't come up anywhere : (
KC Joyner (4:04 PM)
Good question. His metrics at Michigan were superb. Will ask what his status is for FFB.
Gray Hairs (Atlanta)
KC...... What is the outlook for Mettenberger? New coach, Locker has been so, so and Titans didn't pick up his option, can you see Zach as the starter next or even this year? Does he have the talent to be an NFL starting QB?
KC Joyner (4:05 PM)
There might not be a better developmental QB in the NFL.
16 team League Snake Draft1 keeper from below 4th roundWho would be the keeper out of this group? Crabtree, Ben Tate, Riley Cooper, Tavern Austin, and Dennis PittaWe can start 2 TE's and a WR instead of 3 WR's. Thanks K
KC Joyner (4:07 PM)
Tough call. Would probably keep Tate if only because RBs are going to be really hard to find this year.
Drew Brees and Jairus Byrd for Aaron Rodgers. Who says no?
KC Joyner (4:08 PM)
No offense but I'd say no. Bree's has the type of favorable schedule that says he could come close to mimicking Peyton's 2013 numbers.
Michael Floyd is often noted as a potential breakout WR in '14. How should the fact that he plays in the NFC West temper that hype?
KC Joyner (4:10 PM)
He nearly outplayed Fitz last year. He's younger and is likely to get better. Being in the NFC West does cap his upside but there is no reason to think Floyd isn't WR2 caliber this year.
It is finally Thursday and we get to talk some fantasy football! I know that you are big on Brees this year so I was wondering if you think Graham's contract/position/identity issues are going to negatively impact Brees once resolved? Thanks KC!
KC Joyner (4:11 PM)
Am not thinking Graham is a guy who's only motivation is contracts.
KC Joyner (4:11 PM)
The classic is back!
Albert (tx) [via mobile]
Cobb for a 3rd or vereen for a 4th round? (Ppr) who has biggest upside?
KC Joyner (4:13 PM)
Cobb. NE will be a RBBC no matter what (or at least a significant timeshare). If Cobb stays healthy, he's got high-end WR2 potential.
Gray Hairs (Atlanta)
In Dynasty....Sankey or D. Freeman? And do you feel T. Richardson can rebound in 2014?
KC Joyner (4:15 PM)
Sankey. Hard to see Freeman being a bell cow and Sankey is likely to serve that role or something close to it. T-Rich will rebound.
Scott (Westminster, CO)
Do you think Jimmy Graham is worth a top 6 pick in redrafts? If you don't get him, do you just wait on TE until the 8th or so?
KC Joyner (4:16 PM)
He does rate that high on the TFS list. If a team does not get him and doesn't feel comfortable drafting Gronk, they can wait until 8th round or later.
Thoughts on Zac Stacy this year? Solid RB2 or good change to be just a guy?
KC Joyner (4:17 PM)
His GBYPA wasn't very high last year. And he might lose some PT. RB2.
Daniel (Lexington, KY)
KCJ, my man! Who wins this trade: Cam Newton for Andre Ellington and Russell Wilson? 0.5 PPR, 6 point passing TD's, keeper league with no time restriction. THANKS!
KC Joyner (4:19 PM)
Would take Wilson & Ellington seven days a week. Ellington had a double digit GBYPA last year and Wilson will throw the ball more often. That more than beats Newton.
eric (anaheim, ca)
Should i be worried with aj green's production this season, with a more run based offense?
KC Joyner (4:20 PM)
Absolutely. Just not so worried that he drops to WR2 level.
Albert (tx) [via mobile]
Chances rashad Jennings is the main man in NY and worth taking in the mid rounds?
KC Joyner (4:21 PM)
At worst, he'll be their main pass catching RB. That's RB3 value as a floor. Would draft him for upside on that alone.
Hey KC, with news that Moreno is hurt but so is Mike Pouncey where would you draft Lamar Miller?
KC Joyner (4:24 PM)
Five new O linemen in Miami make any RB pick a risky one. Low end RB2/high end RB3.
Keeper league and stuck between Dez Bryant and AJ Green. Think Bryant has a better year but AJ probably better longer term. Win now, right?
KC Joyner (4:25 PM)
Win now unless it's a player who will be blue rated every year. Neither Bryant nor Green fits that description.
Travis, Canada (Draft Day Spoiler Alert)
Hey KC, I wrote you prior to the NFL draft and asked this question, but I guess you missed it.But with the Browns getting LB Mack and RB Jenkins in the first round of the draft, what else are they missing going forward? haha
KC Joyner (4:27 PM)
A QB. Right now they have a great marketing gimmick at QB but they need him to develop into a forest QB.
Hello KC, which Green Bay WR would you prefer in a PPR league between Jordy and Randall Cobb?
KC Joyner (4:28 PM)
Jordy. Cobb has too many durability question marks.
14 team PPR Keeper League, where you add 2 rounds to keepers each year. Keep 2: Foster (3rd), Tate (6th), Cruz (6th), Maclin (10th).
KC Joyner (4:29 PM)
Foster and Tate. RBs are getting harder to come by each year.
Rich (New Jersey)
Hi KC - Of the teams that didn't make the playoffs in 2013, who'll make the playoffs this year?
KC Joyner (4:31 PM)
Non-fantasy question but a good lead in to note the TFS ESPN Insider article on how the Steelers should be considered the AFC North favorite.
Dale (pa) [via mobile]
Better keeper...J. Bell in the 12th or Vereen in the 9th? Also keeping Lacy in the 4th.
KC Joyner (4:33 PM)
Vereen due to his value as a receiver and runner. Less chance of his not being used.
KC Joyner (4:40 PM)
Hey, hate to do it but have a technical snag and have to cut out a bit early. For those who didn't get to join the chat, feel free to send your FFB queries to my Twitter account, which is @KCJoynerTFS. I also penned the QB & WR sections of the ESPN online FFB draft kit and the QB, WR and K sections of the ESPN fantasy football magazine, so please check them out. Thanks again for all of the questions and I hope to see you all here next week!!
