Hey race fans, Adrian's going to be here in a few minutes now to take all your questions. Hold tight!
Moderator (6:39 PM)
Adrian is here now, so let's get started.
Italy
Hi from Italy,my name is Loris, great great show this night!Adrian when did you realize that you could win the race?in the last lap? or you already knew that you had something more than the other drivers... bye and thank you
Adrian Fernandez (6:40 PM)
When I qualified fourth that's when I realized I had a great car, the first opportunity I had all year to get to the front and fight. That was the first time I knew.
Jon, San Francisco
Did you think you had a win in you this year? How hard has the transition from Champ Cars to IRL been? Does this make your season for you?
Adrian Fernandez (6:42 PM)
The time I knew I had a chance to win a race was at the Indy 500, we were strong all month. I thought I was close to a win, but conditions were cold and we were strong in the heat. Besides that, I didn't feel I had a car that could win until now. We did a lot of work and the car was very good.
Anna, Long Beach, CA
Do you feel like being 40 is an advantage or a disadvantage racing against all those younger guys? Do you have tricks to teach them? Congrats on the win!
Adrian Fernandez (6:43 PM)
Thank you! Something to teach them is to be smart and be safe, it's not worth getting injured. It's hard to get here, but it's harder to be here a long time. I still feel very strong, even being 41 years old, I feel strong as a driver. We just didn't have the car to beat them until now. I'm glad we were able to pull it out.
Rick, Indianapolis
Adrian, is it good in your opinion for the IRL to have someone besides TK or Buddy Rice win a race? Can you win again this season? Great job Sunday.
Adrian Fernandez (6:44 PM)
I think we can win again. Tony and Buddy have been strongest all season, but I think today was a straight fight and we could do this again. We got the car right and I think put ourselves in a position to win more races this year.

Congratulations Adrian, great to see ya win again. There is a rumour that the team found some change on the suspension that helped a lot, looks like true as you and Matsura finished on top 4
Adrian Fernandez (6:46 PM)
It's a little bit of everything, aero and suspension, it's shocks and springs and the whole setup. It's a lot of little things. But oh yeah, we definitely found something to improve it.
Steph, Detroit
Adrian, what's been the hardest part about switching over from Champ Cars to the IRL? Have you ever regretted it? Does this win make it all worth it? Nice job today!
Adrian Fernandez (6:47 PM)
I think the best thing has been to unify the team. The bad part has been not racing in Mexico. It's been worth it though.
John, Decatur
Will Honda give you some cake and ice cream to celebrate their 1st Manufacturer's Championship today?
Adrian Fernandez (6:48 PM)
They always do. It's a great company, they make us work hard, they always reward you for your efforts. I'm very happy with them.
Rob (Chicago)
Great race win, CONGRATS!! Been a fan since 95 and hoping you will continue racing for years to come. As of right now is your team looking to remain the same, (sponsers, chassis, and engine) for next year? I hope so, again awsome drive today!!
Adrian Fernandez (6:49 PM)
We're working on it, at this point there are some sponsors to renew and others that might not, but I have confidence that most of it will stay the same next year. I've got to go, thanks to all my fans!
Moderator (6:51 PM)
Thanks everybody for all your questions today, for those who got here a bit late we're sorry we couldn't get to your questions -- get here as early as you can next time and we'll get to as many of you as we can. Thanks!
