Shawn (ashland, ky)
Please!!!! I have yet to ever get a question answered here...pint of Ben and Jerry's Chunky Monkey for you with a response...Scott...trade deadlines are approaching would it be a good move for both parties if I were to trade away Culpepper and Droughns for Brees and Alexander?
Scott Engel (5:02 PM)
Good evening everyone! Shawn, I'll take New York Super Fudge Chunk instead. I don't think that's going to get it done for you. Brees is playing as well as Culpepper, and Droughns doesn't come close to Alexander. You need to improve your offer just a bit.
Jake, Philadelphia
What is the RB situation out of Pitt.. Will it be Duce or the Bus on game day, & what can we expect from either guy. Thanks
Scott Engel (5:02 PM)
I expect it to be Bettis, but both are risky starts.
Andrew (Edwardsville il)
I have Priest, Thomas Jones, and Droughns. I want to upgrade my weakest back and I figure that to be Jones. What RB should I be able to get with a package of Jones and Jimmy Smith?
Scott Engel (5:04 PM)
You have to find a team in your league with a need at both RB and WR. You must scout the opposition first before targeting a player.
Sal (Toronto)
Scott, LT for Hasselbeck and Rudi. Sound like a fair trade? Please advise.
Scott Engel (5:05 PM)
If I had LT, I would turn it down.
Leah (Queens)
Help a girl out! Rattay or Herrington? Defense question: Our league gives 1 for sack; 2 for INT; 2 for fumble rec; and pts. for pts allowed -- Jets or Pats this week?
Scott Engel (5:06 PM)
Always glad to help out a fellow Queens native - Rattay has the better matchup, and you can't bench the NE defense, even with Law and Poole out.
Barry Chicago, IL
Godfather...I have a tough one, C-Mart vs Baltimore or K Barlow vs Carolina? I am barely hanging on to the last playoff spot.
Scott Engel (5:07 PM)
I like Barlow's matchup, but Martin has been much better, and I can't recommend benching him for a player like Barlow.
Peter (Baltimore)
Help relieve my stress! Do I start Rudi or Westbrook as 2nd RB? Then do I start Colbert, Lloyd, Gaffney or the other RB at my flex?
Scott Engel (5:08 PM)
Go with the two RBs - they will touch the ball more.
Pete (Somerville, MA)
Hi Scott! I have Keary Colbert and Muhsin Muhammad. Is it too risky to play them both this week or should I bench one and play Larry Fitzgerald? Thanks!
Scott Engel (5:09 PM)
Too risky to lean on one team, especially a one-win ballclub. Use Colbert and Fitzgerald.
Carl (Atlanta)
I'm tempted to start David Carr over Culpepper this weekend. Crazy? What about trading Culpepper for Terrell Owens and keeping Carr?
Scott Engel (5:10 PM)
You never bench Culpepper unless you are lucky enought o have Manning also. You would have to see if Owens' owner is interested in a deal before you ask me.
Mike, So cal
Please please help me...do i play burlson vs. GB or moulds vs. New England. also, with moss out. should i trade Moss and and gramah for Gonzolez and a mediocre reciver??
Scott Engel (5:11 PM)
Moulds is money,a nd you can't bench him. Keep Moss - you'll be glad you didn't trade him later on.
Shawn (non-playoff land)
Scott! Please help me! My playoff life is at stake. Priest is hurt, who should I start, Blaylock vs NO or Fred Taylor vs Detroit??? Thanks!
Scott Engel (5:12 PM)
Start Taylor - Blaylock is hurting,a nd might share carries with Larry Johnson and Tony Richardson if he plays.
Elliott(Fresno Ca)
Good evening your Majesty. Please help with a trade question from a team on the verge of making the playoffs. My league is mostly set on TDa??s , and starts two qbs, and two rbs. A guy in my league is willing to deal LT. My rbs are C. Brown, O. Smith, and R. Droughns. My qbs are Dauntee and Donovan. This guy would probably take a trade with two of the three rbs and one of the Qbs, for LT and Bulger. Would you make this trade? Do you think my team would be better in the playoffs considering their schedules?
Scott Engel (5:14 PM)
I think Culepper and Droughns for LT and Bulger would be fair, and would help you. Regardless of skeds, you'll have a fine roster.
Marvin Harrison (Ind)
Am I to good to be traded for Westbrook and Hakim?
Scott Engel (5:15 PM)
If anyone mentions a player like Hakim in a trade offer for you, they should hear a dial tone or get their e-mail returned.
Lee Suggs (Cleveland)
What am I worth in a trade for a WR?
Scott Engel (5:16 PM)
You can't just randomly select a player to target in a trade. Find out which team in your league needs RB help, and see what they have at WR.
james (troy, ny)
Scott, Troy loves you, give us a shout out by answering this question, ppplease: My buddy is offering me Crumpler for Clayton. Right now my team is Holt (WR), Wayne (WR), Westbrook (Flex), Faulk (RB), and Graham (TE). I use Clayton as my flex when Westbrook is out. My backups are all receivers (Lloyd, McCardell, Colbert). In this complicado scenario, is Crumpler worth Clayton???
Scott Engel (5:18 PM)
Crumpler has been too up and down - but I'd give up Lloyd or Colbert for him.
Ruben (Denver, CO)
Scott- What I am really worth? Everyone seems to be trying to unload me in a trade.
Scott Engel (5:20 PM)
If I'm trying to trade you, first I must seek out a team in my league that needs RB help, then work from there. You can't simply target specific players. You must find a suitable trading partner, then work from there.
Ray Detroit, MI
What is the status of Steve McNair? Is he suppose to start this week? Is he even worth starting for fantasy?
Scott Engel (5:21 PM)
Mcnair is questionable, and I lean towards him being out. Even if he starts, he hasn't been playing well enough to use him as a fantasy starter.
Chris (St. Louis)
Scott, Who would you start as your 2nd and 3rd WR behind Ward? (Pick 2) Givens, M. Robinson, L. Evens, or A. Davis. Thanks!
Scott Engel (5:24 PM)
I like Evans against the injury-riddled NE secondary, and Robinson in a shootout with the Pack.
terry ((sturgeon bay,wi))
which QB is the better start brady or rattay?
Scott Engel (5:28 PM)
I like Rattay - I expect a lot of points in the Niners-Panthers game.
Stan, CA
Is Marcus Robinson a better play than Lloyd, Keyshawn, or Lee Evans this week?
Scott Engel (5:30 PM)
I would only start him over Keyshawn. I like Lloyd and Evans a lot this week.
Kevin in Jax
Dallas Clark or Daniel Graham?
Scott Engel (5:31 PM)
Considering Graham has been shut out two weeks in a row, I say Clark.
Nate Burleson (MN)
Do you think Jabar Gaffney will have a better day than I will?
Scott Engel (5:31 PM)
Yes - you are too inconsistent.
Scott TX
Who to start..Isaac Bruce or Brandon Lloyd? Darrel Jackson or Stokely? Thanks
Scott Engel (5:32 PM)
You can't bench Bruce, especially at home against Seattle. Jackson has been playing better than Stokley recently.
Dave (Mpls, MN)
Scott- Will the Washington passing game ever get back on track and will Coles have a big second half? Please tell me "YES."
Scott Engel (5:33 PM)
Sorry - no - although I like Coles just for this week against Cincy.
eric (colorado)
Scott please help a guy fighting for his playoff life! Would you start Pittman or Blaylock this weekend?
Scott Engel (5:34 PM)
Always go with the healthy guy - Pittman.
nicole (boston)
I have both Bruce and Holt. Which one do I look to trade or do I play both which I have been doing so far?
Scott Engel (5:35 PM)
Too risky to rely on one team's receivers - get rid of Holt - Bruce has been more reliable.
Mike (Tampa)
Pick one of Morton, Colbert and K. Robionson? Pick one of Suggs and Blaylock? Hasselback or Rattay?
Scott Engel (5:36 PM)
Gotta go with Morton, who has been hotter than the other two. Suggs is healthy, over Blaylock. Hasselbeck gets slight nod over Rattay.
Todd (Boston, MA)
Scott - Blaylock is reported to be fine - why do you keep saying he's "hurting"? His thigh injury isn't a factor as he's practiced with no issues for the past couple of days.
Scott Engel (5:38 PM)
Balylock has practiced, but he might not be 100 pct, and might share carries with Johnson and Richardson.
Jeff (Charlotte)
Scott, having depth at WRs is great, but it can be a serious headache when setting the lineups. Would you start Fitz, Clayton, or M-Rob? Boo or J Stevans?
Scott Engel (5:40 PM)
Stevens is useless, so go with Boo. AT WR, Fitzgerald and Clayton are more reliable than Robinson. Clayton over Fitz because of matchup.
Steve (Chicago)
I trade Rudi and Chris Chambers for Johnnie Morton and Jesse Chatman. I needed a WR this week bad. Good move or bad?
Scott Engel (5:41 PM)
Not good - a one-week move that gives you less carries at RB and a downgrade at WR.
Santana (New Jersey, New York)
Was last week an aberration? Would you start me over both Colbert and Lloyd this week?
Scott Engel (5:42 PM)
Dude, Quincy Carter is your QB. And you were bad enough with Pennington. I take Lloyd, then Colbert.
Nemesis (Merrillville, In)
Scott, Bald is beautiful, would you start Muhammed over Ward this week?
Scott Engel (5:43 PM)
Never.
steve, MIN
FACING AN 9-0 TEAM!!!!do i play D.Jackson and Lloyd over Westbrook and dunn. Who is better of a play, Westbrook or dunn (for my flex spot)
Scott Engel (5:44 PM)
Doesn't matter who your opponent is - you can only control YOUR team, so don't worry about the opposition. I always take the RBs over the WRs. And Dunn over Westbrook.
Jonathan, Carrboro,NC
Is Antonio Gates for Corey Dillon a good trade? I have Rueben, Onterrio, and Barlow. Wiggins is my other TE.
Scott Engel (5:45 PM)
for the best TE in fantasy football, you should get more than Dillon.
colin (tulsa)
Ia??ve got a trade dilemma that I could use a little help with: Ia??ve been offered A. Johnson for F. Taylor. My other WRs are as follows: Holt, M. Robinson, K. Robinson, B. Lloyd, and S. Moss. My other RBs are Pittman, Brown, and Droughns. My only concern is that this trade will leave thin at the RB position. Does this trade make sense for me? Thanks for any help!
Scott Engel (5:46 PM)
I say get Johnson - but offer Pittman instead - his value will go down from here.
Ashman, Green Bay WI
Horn or Bruce?
Scott Engel (5:47 PM)
Gotta like Horn against his old team, which has a very bad defense to boot.
bruce (bayside queens)
I've got the whole saints WR's. Who should i start besides Horn? Pathon or Stallworth?
Scott Engel (5:48 PM)
Pathon - Stallworth is useless, even with a good matchup. See ya at the White Castle on Northern and Bell :)
Curtis Martin (MN)
Will Rudi Johnson have a better Sunday than I will?
Scott Engel (5:49 PM)
Nope - you'll both be mediocre this week.
Gary (Milwaukee)
I need help. Would you trade Plax for any of these Faulk, Pittman, A-Train, A. Smith?
Scott Engel (5:50 PM)
No way - I need more than that for Burress.
Nate Burelson (Min)
Do I start over A Boldin or M Clayton.
Scott Engel (5:51 PM)
Clayton - he has agood matchup, and Boldin has yet to really play well.
Steve(Middletown,CT)
burress or colbert?
Scott Engel (5:51 PM)
You can't bench Burress right now - ride the hot play.
Persistent (CT)
Three quick hits: Brooks or Green? Johnsosn or Pollard? Seattle D or Tennessee?
Scott Engel (5:53 PM)
Green should throw more than Brooks, so I give him the edge. Can't bench Pollard right now, and Seattle D will get shredded, so use Titans.
marc (ohio)
Do I go with Lloyd, Stokley, or Robinson to go along with Holt, pick 2.
Scott Engel (5:54 PM)
lloyd is a fine play this week - Stokley and Robinson have both been up and down - I'll take Robinson to score against the Pack.
Chris Motown
Is Portis for Wayne/A-Train a fair trade?
Scott Engel (5:55 PM)
Yes - but I wouldn't depend on Thomas past this week.
Deep thoughts
Starters: Bulger, Bruce, Holt, LT, Mcgahee, Westbrook, Mcmichael. My bench: O. smith, A. thomas, Blaylock, S. morris, D. mason, B. Loyd. Due to significant injuries to another team I've been offered Priest for McGahee and Westbrook. I'm in 1st with a very consistent team and garanteed a spot in the playoffs. Will KC still be playing Priest in weeks 15 and 16 when I'll need him in my playoffs or should i decline the trade and just coast into the playoffs hoping my players can outscore other teams? any thoughts on my conundrum?
Scott Engel (5:57 PM)
Priest's injury seems like a short-term one at this point - and you should offer a bit more, honestly. I wouldn't be suprised to see such a deal vetoed.
YOU ARE SOOO BEAUTIFUL!!!
I have to go with 3 WR's. R. Moss is out. Please help (Driver, K. Robinson, K. Colbert, L. Evans, Stokley) Thanks!
Scott Engel (5:58 PM)
Based on matchups, I say Driver, Colbert and Evans.
Bo (Sioux Falls, SD)
I play my division rival this week who do I start Chris Brown or Corey Dillon or Stoakly
Scott Engel (5:59 PM)
Always go with the Rb at flex - and Dillon is healthy, Brown is not.
Lauren(Texas)
With Pennington and Warner I need a QB. Is Brees for LT too much? my other backs are M.Faulk, C.Brown and McGahee.
Scott Engel (6:00 PM)
For LT, I'd want a bit more of a proven QB. Like McNabb or Culpepper. Thanks everyone - seee ya Sunday morning!
