QB Ryan Perrilloux
TE Martellus Bennett
WR DJ Hord
DL Demarcus Granger
Be sure to join The Show starting at 1 p.m. ET because you never know who might stop by!
The ShowGirl (12:55 PM)
Alright everybody, welcome to The Show! Let's talk recruiting!
Tom Lemming (1:00 PM)
We're here in San Antonio with six of the top players in the country. DeMarcus Granger is up first! Send in your questions.
John (Columbus)
Demarcus, Could you tell us what type of pressure players get to stay in state or go to a particluar school?
Demarcus Granger (1:03 PM)
Sure, there is pressure, but in-state or out of state, it all comes back to where you feel most comfortable. Some players just feel more comfortable staying in state, to some it doesn't matter. It just depends on the player.
Deron (Oak Cliff, Texas)
Hi DeMarcus. Does Rod Wright's decision whether to stay or leave have an effect on whether Texas is a contender for you services?
Demarcus Granger (1:04 PM)
Wherever I go I just ask for a chance. If they can give me a chance to prove my point, it doesn't matter who is there or who isn't.
noles
what teams or on demarcus granger's list?
Demarcus Granger (1:04 PM)
Oklahoma, Tennesse and Arizona State ... and Florida.
Andrew, Atlanta
DeMarcus, are you giving serious consideration to Tennessee even though haven't seen Knoxville or Neyland Stadium up close and personal yet?
Demarcus Granger (1:05 PM)
Yes, I will be taking a visit to Tennessee.
Brent (Heiskell, TN)
Are you leaning to one school or are you still trying to sort things out?
Demarcus Granger (1:06 PM)
I'm still just trying to sort things out.
Robert Patton
DeMarcus, Of the schools you are NOT going to, which one impressed you the most?
Demarcus Granger (1:07 PM)
The University of Texas.
Mark Topeka, Ks
DeMarcus, when do you anticipate making a decision?
Demarcus Granger (1:08 PM)
I'm still debating whether or not to do it on TV or on signing day. I'm not sure.
The ShowGirl (1:08 PM)
Thanks DeMarcus, DJ Hord is up next!
Justin (Manhattan)
DJ Hord- How has the process been for you, and are you close to a decision?
DJ Hord (1:09 PM)
It's been pretty hectic all the way through, not too bad, but it's hectic. I'll make my announcement at half time of the All-American game so I'm ready to go, really.
kirk ohio
Hey DJ hord how was your visit to ND?
DJ Hord (1:10 PM)
It was a pretty good visit. It was so much fun, I met a lot of players, Coach Weis was a really nice guy, I finally got to meet him face to face with my family. Overall, it was a really great experience.
Jimmy (South Bend)
There is talk that DJ is getting a lot of pressure to go to KSU. What schools were in your final three?
DJ Hord (1:13 PM)
Kansas State, Wisconsin and Notre Dame.
Jon (Denver)
DJ:What would you say your best attribute is as a WR and will you be wearing the Blue and Gold next year?
DJ Hord (1:14 PM)
My speed is probably my best attribute ... and no, I can't tell you where I'm going yet!
Mitch-Kansas City, MO
DJ,With the past success of Rockhurst High grads (Kenyan Rasheed and Brandon Shelby)at Oklahoma why did the Sooners not make your final list?
DJ Hord (1:15 PM)
I considered the Sooners in the beginning, but it kinda of fell through and I eventually lost contact with the receiving coaches so I just knocked them off the list.
Mike:Chandler AZ
This question is for DJ. DJ, can you tell me your impressions of coach Weis at ND and how well you feel he will do there as coach? Thanks.
DJ Hord (1:17 PM)
Well, Coach Weiss's offensive mind shines very bright and intriguing to a WR. He is an intense guy and an overall nice guy. I think he will fit right in at Notre Dame and be very successful there.
Will, Kansas City
DJ... I hope to see you flying down the field with a powercat on your helmet next fall. You're the burner we need. Good luck in the game this weekend!
DJ Hord (1:18 PM)
Thanks for all the support!
The ShowGirl (1:18 PM)
Martellus Bennett is up next!
UM Canes, Rochester, NY
Martellus--Is Miami still on your list?
Martellus Bennett (1:18 PM)
No.
BOBBY-TEXARKANA,TX
MARTELLUS HOW MUCH OF A FACTOR WILL YOUR BROTHER PLAY IN YOU POSSIBLY COMING TO TEXAS AandM?? GIG' EM AGGIES
Martellus Bennett (1:19 PM)
Yes, they are still on my list. My brother doesn't play a huge factor though b/c I've played with him all my life.
Daymon alief texas
Big Martellus, how serious are you about playing both football and basketball in college? and what is your position of choice on the basketball court?Bloods thicker than water, holla back at them Aggies!
Martellus Bennett (1:20 PM)
Very, very serious. I'm a shooting guard.
Travis (Houston)
Martellus who is still on your list?
Martellus Bennett (1:21 PM)
Texas, AandM, USC and Oklahoma.
Joe (Minneapolis, MN)
Hey Ryan and Martellus. Congrats on the great high school careers. Can't wait to see you hook up for TDs in Austin. Bring Fred Rouse with you!!! Hook 'em! (by the way, don't forget about our top #10 ranked basketball team Martellus!)
Martellus Bennett (1:24 PM)
Thanks for the support Joe! I haven't made any official decision yet, though. I'll make my announcement on January 31 on Fox Sports Net ... unless I get a bigger station ... maybe if Chris Berman calls me I'll head to the ESPN studio. Get a nice suit. ...
vic(pa)
martellus, you have been back and forth between texas and miami, what sets those two schools apart from anyone other schools that recruited you in your mind?
Martellus Bennett (1:27 PM)
Miami has a TE already. That's the biggest difference.
The ShowGirl (1:27 PM)
Thanks Martellus! Here's Ryan P!
Rich(Tampa,Fl)
Ryan,How about the University of South Florida? Dawsey has some talented, young receivers for you to work with not to mention the opportunity to start for 4 years and play the likes of Miami. Why not create tradition instead of following it? Imagine taking a program that has been around for less than 10 years to a BCS bowl and possible NC. Talk about being THE MAN
Ryan Perrilloux (1:30 PM)
South Florida has an alright chance, I really just like the receiving Coach Duffey a lot. That's really what's keeping them on my list.
Cameron(Austin)
Ryan, are you worried (if you go to Texas) about Vince Young already starting and how much playing time you will get?
Ryan Perrilloux (1:31 PM)
Nah, I'm not worried about that. That's not a factor for me.
Troy (Dallas, TX)
Ryan:I got a chance to see you play in your last high school game against Evangel Christian, and you put on quite a show. Have you taken an official visit to LSU yet, or have your visits there all been unofficial visits?
Ryan Perrilloux (1:32 PM)
Thanks Troy. Yes, I will be taking a visit to LSU.
Fred tyler,tx
Ryan, are you 100% commited to Texas?
Ryan Perrilloux (1:32 PM)
No. I am not putting any percentages out there. I AM committed to Texas. That's all you need to know.
Dave, North Haven, CT
Ryan what are the chances you and your friend Fred Rouse end up at Florida State?
Ryan Perrilloux (1:34 PM)
I have no idea.
Dan New York, NY
Ryan, Which are your final schools?
Ryan Perrilloux (1:34 PM)
Miss. State, South Florida, LSU, Texas, Florida State and Miami.
Sam (Baton Rouge)
Ryan, I was wondering how much Saban's leaving impacted your decision, and was wondering if having a more offense oriented coach in Les Miles makes staying with LSU easier. Hope you have a great offseason and we hope to see you here in Baton Rouge next year. Geaux Tigers!
Ryan Perrilloux (1:36 PM)
Saban's decision did NOT affect my decision at all. Miles is a very explosive offensive coach. I am very impressed with him and LSU is close to home. Those are the things I am considering.
Binder (austin)
Ryan, could you tell me some of the reasons why you feel you could fit into the longhorns for next season
Ryan Perrilloux (1:37 PM)
Because I'm their type of QB, I can run and throw and I believe I could really help that program out.
Andrew, Atlanta
Question for both Ryan and Martellus: Would you prefer to go to the same college together? Have you discussed doing so?
Ryan Perrilloux (1:38 PM)
We've discussed it, it's something we'd like to do but we'll still do whatever is best for us individually.
Jamal (Boston)
Ryan, how many more visits do you have?
Ryan Perrilloux (1:38 PM)
I have four more. I"ve already visited TExas.
The ShowGirl (1:39 PM)
Desean Jackson is here now! Send in those questions!
DeSean JAckson (1:39 PM)
Hey everybody!
Jonathan (San Fran)
DeSean, who is still on your list?
DeSean Jackson (1:40 PM)
Right now I've got Cal, USC, Oklahoma, LSU and Florida.
Jack (Texas)
DeSean, have you taken any visits yet?
DeSean Jackson (1:41 PM)
Yes, I took one to Oklahoma, Cal and LSU.
Mike (Cal)
DeSean when will you make your final decision, are you leaning towards anybody today?
DeSean Jackson (1:43 PM)
Right now I'm leaning towards Cal and USC right now. I'm almost set on my decsion. I lean between those two, it's even, I go back and forth. I'm just trying to get everything off my mind and clear my head and decide. This is a huge decision. It's starting to get to me a little bit. I'm not sure where I will go, but I am anxious to decide. I'm not sure when I will announce it yet.
Tim (San Ramon CA)
What impressese you most about Cal?
DeSean Jackson (1:44 PM)
The opportunity to come in and play right away and be an impact player for their program. My visit went pretty good, I had a good time there.
Joe: ( L.A., CA)
How is USC looking for ya big guy?
DeSean Jackson (1:45 PM)
I won't visit USC until probably the 21st. They are looking real good, I mean, they won the national championship so they are looking real good on my list right now!
Bryan (Austin)
DeShaun, do you feel most comfortable staying in California?
DeSean Jackson (1:46 PM)
Texas don't want me! I considered them in the summertime, they hardly even recruited me! I don't have a problem leaving California, I'm just very impressed with the programs in the state.
Jonathan Stewart (1:47 PM)
Hey everybody. I guess it's my turn.
Jason, Cali
Jonathan-What teams are on your list?
Jonathan Stewart (1:47 PM)
Washington State, Tennessee and Oregon.
puyallup,wa
jonathan. no notredame? I thouhtt you were the next great irish running back at south bend?please help bring back the glory in south bend
Jonathan Stewart (1:49 PM)
Nah, I was really only considering Notre Dame for Ty Willingham.
mark col ohio
jonathan stewart how close are u to making a decision? and how about osu the only have two backs coming back next year
Jonathan Stewart (1:50 PM)
Nah, I'm not sure when I'll announce, but I'm not going to OSU. Sorry.
Greg in Nashville
This question is for Jonathan Stewart and Demarcus Granger: Are either one of you seriously considering the University of Tennessee and if so, does distance from home play a factor at all?
Jonathan Stewart (1:51 PM)
Distance from home isn't a big factor for me. When I went down there, it took me a long time! But, I'm still considering UT.
John Charles, WA
Hey Jonathan-What did you like about your trip to Oregon? Would love to see you taking it to the house at Autzen!
Jonathan Stewart (1:54 PM)
I like the campus the best. It's real nice, the athletic facilities are very nice. The visit to Oregon went very well. I like the feel of the campus very much.
Chris (Seattle)
Hello Mr. Stewart. As a member of Cougar Nation I'm real curious as to where you might be going to college next year. Has Willingham's hire at uw swung you in that direction? What are the odd's of seeing you in Crimson and Gray? Regardless of your decision, good luck and God Bless!
Jonathan Stewart (1:55 PM)
It's about 50-50 with UW, I'm not sure where I'm going. But, yes, Ty Willingham's decisions have affected mine.
Tom Lemming (1:57 PM)
You just heard from six of the best players in the country. They have to go to practice. Check them out in the US Army All-American game at noon on Saturday.
Tom Lemming (1:57 PM)
