Send your questions now and join Thomas in The Show on Friday at 3:30 p.m. ET.
Buzzmaster (3:37 PM)
Helloooooooooo! Thomas Davis should be here momentarily! Keep your questions coming!
Thomas Davis (3:49 PM)
I am here and ready to go!
Dave Bunk(Kendall, WI)
Have you been in contact with the Packers? Have a visit scheduled?
Thomas Davis (3:50 PM)
Actually I met with them when I went to the combine. The interview went very well. They said they were very impressed with me on film and wanted to see my at Pro Day. They came down for my Pro Day and I think everything went really well.
Brad Dallas, TX
What do you enjoy more making a big hit, or intercepting a pass?
Thomas Davis (3:51 PM)
It was great to get a big hit but an INT was even better. It allowed me to get the ball back to the offence and allow us to score more.
chris - green bay
many people have to as a saftey or linebacker, which one do you think you are best suited to play in the NFL?
Thomas Davis (3:52 PM)
I feel like I'm suited for both. I can't sway one way or another. It all depends where a team wants me to play.
Van(Asheville, NC)
Thomas, you had some monster hits in your career at UGA. For you, which hit was the most satisfying, and who was your victim?
Thomas Davis (3:53 PM)
Had to be against Arkansas this year. Decory Birmingham was the victim. It was a sweep play 10 yards out and I guess he thought he could turn up and score and I just came out of nowhere and knocked him off his feet.
Arthur (Atlanta, GA)
Thomas, what are you going to miss the most about Athens now that you're heading to the NFL?
Thomas Davis (3:53 PM)
Just the atmosphere. We had a great chemistry on that team.
Jarrod- Atlanta, GA
Which NFL RB or WR would you most love to get a big hit on?
Thomas Davis (3:54 PM)
Ha! I want to hit ALL of them! Anybody in my territory, that's who I want to hit.
Arthur (Atlanta, GA)
Thomas, I know everybody says they don't care who drafts them, as long as they get drafted, but be honest- are there one or two teams that you would really like to play for & why?
Thomas Davis (3:55 PM)
I can't label any one team. I've waited my whole life for the opportunity to play in the NFL. Any team that drafts you, it's the greatest joy in the world. So no team inparticular.
Stephen, Athens GA
What do you attribute your ability to just lay the wood to? technique? desire? Lots of 6-1 230 pounders who can't do what you do. GO Dawgs!!
Thomas Davis (3:55 PM)
Just tenacity and hard work. I'm always working to make myself better. I've always been taught to stay hard and aggressive.
Mike IL
Thomas, If you were stranded on an island ans could bring 1 type of food, and 1 female celebrity with you, what, and who would they be ? Thanks
Thomas Davis (3:56 PM)
The food would have to be from Zaxby's Chicken! And the female would be Serena Williams.
Jon (Charlotte, NC)
I am a huge UGA fan. Why did you decide to opt for the pros and not stay for another year at Georgia?
Thomas Davis (3:57 PM)
The biggest factor was my one-year old son that I need to take care of. I couldn't put him on hold because I wanted to stay in Athens. I had to provide for him.
saif ziadat (romeoville, IL)
Thomas, what is your favorite number to wear on your jersey?
Thomas Davis (3:58 PM)
I've been No. 10 since high school. It's not a DB number in the league so Georgia was probably the end of that. But I like 10.
Darrell (macon ga)
Thomas, You will be sorely missed in Athens by all us Dawg fans, but who do you see steeping up to replace a great player like yourself this year at UGA ?
Thomas Davis (3:59 PM)
Georgia will be just fine. As you have seen in the past, when great players leave, there is always somebody ready to step up. We always have guys waiting in the wings.
mike (gainesville)
What do you think about all the new controversy with the steroid issue that has now overflowed into football, plus the rumor that a punter juiced, thanks
Thomas Davis (4:00 PM)
I have never been tempted to do steroids. Guys that do that must not feel like they want to do the hard work to get better. They have to resort to something illegal. Those guys just aren't strong enough to work hard.
Daniel (Athens, Ga)
Do you wish you could have played in the Senior Bowl, or would you feel that the scouts have already seen enough?
Thomas Davis (4:01 PM)
Nah, not really.
Lindsey (SC)
Heard anything from the Saints? We could use some help at LB...Geaux Tigers!!!
Thomas Davis (4:01 PM)
Definately. The Saints seem to be very interested. I'm flying to New Orleans on Monday.
Jay Brookhaven, MS
Thomas, who was your favorite football player growing up?
Thomas Davis (4:02 PM)
Barry Sanders.
Gabe, chicago
Thomas, Simple question ! Beyonce, Megan Goode, Ciara, or Christina Milian ? Choose one.
Thomas Davis (4:03 PM)
Whew! That's too tough. Christina Milian.
J.J. ( NYC)
What type of questions do they ask you in the combine interviews?
Thomas Davis (4:03 PM)
They ask a lot of questions about character. Have you ever been in trouble? What can you bring to the team? How would you react in different situations?
mj (davis, ca)
what dance if any do you have planned when you take an INT to the house for the first time?
Thomas Davis (4:04 PM)
Oh man! It will definately be a celebration! Probably a little somthing I do back in my hometown in Shellman, Ga.
Matt (Tuscaloosa)
Who hits harder....you or Pollack?
Thomas Davis (4:05 PM)
By far, me!
Manny, Boston
Hey TD! Bid dawgs fan up her in New England. What would it mean to you to play for Coach Belichick? I hear the Pats might like you.
Thomas Davis (4:06 PM)
Oh, man, I feel like I would have a great opportunity to win there! That would be great to play for a coach who has accomplished so much.
Stephen, Athens GA
What did you think of your rating in NCAA 2005? I don't think they had you high enough
Thomas Davis (4:06 PM)
I don't think so either. I feel the same way! My speed was very off.
Kyle Levy (Palm Harbor, FL)
Any nick-names? Chris Berman needs something to say whenever you make a great play...? Thanks
Thomas Davis (4:07 PM)
Pokey. When I was a baby I was pretty fat. It was supposed to be Porkey but it got changed to pokey.
mj (davis, ca)
who is your pick for the final four?
Thomas Davis (4:08 PM)
The two teams I like the most are still in it .. UNC and Illinois. I think UNC will come out on top. They have a great cast of characters.
Chris (Youngstown)
Do you think the league should of banned that Horse-collar tackle?
Thomas Davis (4:09 PM)
I don't understand how you can ban that. It's not helmet to helmet. You migth be in a situation where that is the only way to can get a guy. It seems like the league is taking away something from the defense every year. It's all going towards the offense.
Knoxville Tennessee
How did it feel to get smoked like a little girl against Tennessee this year?
Thomas Davis (4:09 PM)
It probably felt the same way as the previous few years when we smoked them.
saif ziadat (romeoville, IL)
Thomas, do you like Darren Sharper of the vikings? Who is your favorite safety in the nfl?
Thomas Davis (4:10 PM)
There's a couple. Rodney Harrison, Roy Williams and Brian Dawkins are guys I all try to model my game after.
Bob (new York)
Have you ever hit someone so hard they got knocked out
Thomas Davis (4:11 PM)
Not that I can remember offhand.
Daniel (Athens, Ga)
When did you first start playing football, and have you always been a DB?
Thomas Davis (4:12 PM)
I started playing in 10th grade. I was on the team in 9th grade but didn't play much. I played 8 diff. positions .. RB, WR, QB, TE, S, CB and DE. I also kicked off, punted and returned kicks.
Danny, Arabi, GA.
TD, I always thought they should have made a tailback out of you at UGA. Did anyone ever mention that when you first arrived atUGA?
Thomas Davis (4:13 PM)
Only person that talked about that was my high school coach. He always wondered why I didn't try to play offense.
Bob (Lynchburg,VA)
Who is the most famous entry in your cell phone phonebook?
Thomas Davis (4:14 PM)
It all depends on who you think is famous. I have a lot of former Georgia players like Champ Bailey. Just different guys. I have a newly acquired number for Steve Atwood.
Jason (Atl, Ga)
Hey TD- Thanks for the great hits at UGA. Zaxby's or Guthries? which do you prefer?
Thomas Davis (4:14 PM)
By far Zaxby's. I don't eat Guthries.
Tyler... Provo, UT
So Davis... dont you think you'd be a perfect fit in Minnesota? With the additions of Smoot, Sharper, big Pat Williams and Nap Harris, Minnesota could use a young ball hawk to play OLB or SS... thoughts?
Thomas Davis (4:15 PM)
Hey, if Minnesota wants me, I know I'd be a perfect fit. I'd be a perfect with any team that drafts me.
Matt (Des Moines)
What's the first thing you're going to buy when you cash your bonus?
Thomas Davis (4:15 PM)
My mom a house.
Karl (San Diego)
What's it like getting all the attention from agents, teams, old friends, and the like now that you're heading into the league?
Thomas Davis (4:16 PM)
It's crazy. But you just have to know how to handle it. If you don't handle it well it can be a problem. You just have to keep things simple.
GhostDawg(Marietta)
How close were you coming back to UGA, you made 92K+ cry but we all wanted to let you know from the Dawg Nation Good Luck and we love you!
Thomas Davis (4:17 PM)
I was very close to returning. But in the grand scheme of it, like I said, I had to sit down and look at my situation.
Thomas Davis (4:17 PM)
I definately love the University though. I would have love to go back if things were different.
Daniel (Athens, Ga)
As a DB, is it easier for you guys to play in a 4-3 or a 3-4?
Thomas Davis (4:18 PM)
I feel it all depends on the position. It's easy in a 4-3 as safety but as LB it's easier in a 3-4.
CHarlie (athens)
did you ever get your car back that was stolen?
Thomas Davis (4:18 PM)
I never got my car back! I miss it greatly. It has everything. They even stole my championship rings. If you have any leads, let me know!
Collin (Franklin, MA)
Are you superstitious?
Thomas Davis (4:19 PM)
Very. I never put any lotion on before we played a game at Georgia.
Dre (compton)
who was your favorite team growing up
Thomas Davis (4:20 PM)
Dallas Cowboys.
Arthur (Atlanta, GA)
Who was your favorite team to beat at UGA?
Thomas Davis (4:21 PM)
I guess since the ACC was so tough, it was great to beat Auburn, Tennessee or Florida. It felt better beating Florida this year than anybody.
Van (Asheville, NC)
Thomas, guys like you always seem to make great coaches. Do you see yourself as a football coach later in life?
Thomas Davis (4:21 PM)
I feel like I could go and give back all that has been given to me. All the way from high school to now, I have learned so much. I'd love to give back as a coach.
CHRIS LITTLE ROCK AR
HAVE YOU SIGNED WITH AN AGENT YET?
Thomas Davis (4:22 PM)
Yup. Same agent as Takeo Spikes, Kendrell bell, Priest Holmes, etc.
Kyle Levy (Palm Harbor, FL)
Would it suprise you to be picked in the top 5? top 10? Do you know Mel Kiper?
Thomas Davis (4:23 PM)
It wouldn't be a surprise for me. I have the talent to be up there. I have never met Mel Kiper but I had a conversation with him.
G double E (Athens)
Do you have any highlight reels of yourself while at UGA?
Thomas Davis (4:24 PM)
Oh yeah. I don't have it completed yet but I'm working on it. It has so many plays on it. I have to break it down and get all the best ones.
tony(bumpass,va
what is the percentage of player's salaries do agents get?
Thomas Davis (4:24 PM)
3 percent!
Joshua (Carnesville, GA)
Is it true that you were recruited to UGA when Van Gorder saw you playing basketball?
Thomas Davis (4:25 PM)
Very true. I almost missed out on the chance to go to a D1 school because nobody was recruiting me. But Van Gorder saw me play basketball and recruited me after that.
Ryan (Atlanta, GA)
TD, How will you celebrate/watch the draft?
Thomas Davis (4:25 PM)
I'm having a draft party back home in Shellman, Georgia!
Jeff, Duluth, GA
How do you think the Dawgs will be without Coach Van Gorder running the D? Do you forsee a different style?
Thomas Davis (4:26 PM)
I know they are going to be good. I'm just looking forward to seeing all that talent back on the field.
saif ziadat (romeoville, IL)
Can you send me your autograph or anything like that?
Thomas Davis (4:27 PM)
I'm not sure how to get you my autograph now. Look on ebay! As soon as I get drafted, just write the team.
Karl (San Diego)
Which quarterback do you dream of intercepting for a game-winning touchdown?
Thomas Davis (4:28 PM)
Tom Brady!
Arthur (Atlanta, GA)
Who is the bigger star in the Shellman/Cuthbert area- you or Donnell Harvey?
Thomas Davis (4:29 PM)
Ha! We are just like family. We don't try to compete or anything. I would say him, though, just for all he has accomplished. He was a McDonald's All American and won a slam dunk contest. He is more respected now but I plan on changing that.
Joe (Atlanta)
We all liked the hit on Decory Birmingham, too. But what about when you and Blue teamed up to crush Pinkins in the So. Car. game?
Thomas Davis (4:30 PM)
Ha! Yeah that was a big play and a great hit. S. Carolina was threatening to score and take the lead. But I didn't take much credit for that. Blue got the better shot on that one.
Eric (Cleveland, OH)
Where in the hell is Shellman?
Thomas Davis (4:30 PM)
About 30 minutes west of Albany, Ga.
donny richmond
thomas ,how tough was it to tackle brandon jacobs from auburn
Thomas Davis (4:31 PM)
When we played Auburn, he didn't make it in the game. They fell so far behind they didn't run much. The next year he had transfered.
Mike ( Chicago )
TD, who's stronger, you or Big Ben Watson?
Thomas Davis (4:32 PM)
By far Big Ben! No comparison.
Thomas Davis (4:32 PM)
He is stronger than a lot of people!
Corey (Ty Ty, GA)
Can you finally explain what the "lip jar" competition was about?
Thomas Davis (4:33 PM)
We really don't like to disclose that. But I was the winner of the whole competition.
Dan (conyers, Ga)
who ever won the "big hit" competition between you and Greg Blue this past season...and would Blue agree?
Thomas Davis (4:33 PM)
It was me! I got him.
Thomas Davis (4:33 PM)
Blue had some great hits but I won.
Kyle Levy (Palm Harbor, FL)
When do you think you'll make the Pro-Bowl? (Ill vote for you as much as possible)
Thomas Davis (4:34 PM)
Hopefully as a rookie! That's how I feel!
Ric ( Charlotte )
Thomas, did the Panthers interview you at all? You are the player we need to finally beat Vick and the Falcons!!
Thomas Davis (4:36 PM)
After I leave New Orleans, I'm flying to Charlotte on Tuesday!
Steve (Michigan)
Your thoughts on WR celebrations in the NFL? If Randy or Terrell scores and does a dance in front of you, do you let it go or say something?
Thomas Davis (4:37 PM)
Obviously in order for them to do that, they have to do something good. You aren't going to see much of that! But if a guy makes a great play, he makes a great play. But nobody is going to showboat in front of me without doing something.
Mike (Baltimore,MD)
How would you like to play alongside Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, Chris McAlister and Samari Rolle with the Baltimore Ravens and their smashmouth Defense? Have you engaged in any talks with the team?
Thomas Davis (4:38 PM)
I met with them at the combine. It went pretty well. Just to know what caliber players they have on that team. It's a great honor just to know I have the possibility to play with those guys.
tony(bumpass,va)
which conference is harder? ACC OR SEC?
Thomas Davis (4:38 PM)
By far the SEC. No matter how many teams these other conferences add.
Cindy ( Charlotte)
You think Zaxby's is better than Bojangle's????
Thomas Davis (4:39 PM)
By far! The No. 2 Wings 'n Things is the best thing going.
Arthur (Atlanta, GA)
Who is the bigger hitter, you or Odell Thurman?
Thomas Davis (4:39 PM)
Ohhhhh! That's tough. But I'd give it to myself. Odell is a great hitter though.
Jennifer @ FAME (Atlanta, GA)
TD this is the best chat ever!
Thomas Davis (4:40 PM)
You're crazy.
Steve (Savannah, GA)
What was your impression of Coach Van Gorder leaving for the NFL? Did that play a factor in your decision to go pro?
Thomas Davis (4:41 PM)
Coach Van Gorder made his decision after mine. It was shocking though knowing how much Georgia mean to him and to see him leave. It was very shocking to me.
John (Philly)
What kind of music do you listen to get amped up?
Thomas Davis (4:42 PM)
Pastor Troy is the most motivating music out there right now.
Robert (Peachtree City)
Have you met up with OutKast at all down there in the ATL?
Thomas Davis (4:42 PM)
I've never met them but I've seen them perform.
Mark (Atlanta)
What are you going to do if Fred Gibson catches a TD on you and celebrates?
Thomas Davis (4:43 PM)
Freddie Gibson is not about to celebrate in front of me.. he knows what happened when we were in school.
Kyle Levy (Palm Harbor, FL)
Do these questions annoy you?
Thomas Davis (4:43 PM)
Not at all. I enjoy answering questions like this. Feel free.
Thomas Davis (4:44 PM)
I could do this all day.
Steve ( Rock Hill, SC)
Thomas, how many Dawgs will be selected in the 1st round?
Thomas Davis (4:44 PM)
There are 6-7 of us who could go first round. But ultimately it's not up to me. I'd select every one of them if it was me.
Stuckey (Bella Vista)
My sister wants you to say hi to her Thomas...
Thomas Davis (4:45 PM)
Hello!
Briana Atlanta, GA
are you single, can I marry
Thomas Davis (4:45 PM)
No, not single.
Mike (Baltimore, MD)
Thomas do you play Madden and if you do hows your game and what team do you like to use?
Thomas Davis (4:46 PM)
I'm decent. But I'm better at the NCAA game. On Madden I play as the Falcons and Eagles.
Doug (San Antonio)
What's your thoughts about Maurice Clarett?
Thomas Davis (4:47 PM)
I feel he created a bad situation for himself but he has matured and knows he made mistakes. He just wants to improve himself like every other draft prospect.
Dan (Farrell, Pa)
Speaking of Madden, what will it be like the first time you see yourself and your name on a game?
Thomas Davis (4:47 PM)
That's going to be quite an experience. You had your number on the NCAA game but you didn't have your name. To have little kids playing with Thomas Davis, that's jus crazy.
Kyle Levy (Palm Harbor, FL)
Do you fear an injury?
Thomas Davis (4:48 PM)
I don't fear injury. When you start worrying about injury, most of the time you will end up getting hurt. If you dont worry about it and just play the game, the injuries just pass over you. You just can't worry about it.
Arthur (Atlanta, GA)
Thomas, agree or disagree: Tennessee sucks.
Thomas Davis (4:49 PM)
I definately agree with that.
joe (burlington WI)
Do you ever read football forums to see what people are saying on you?
Thomas Davis (4:50 PM)
I never do any of that. You never have an GMs writing on there or head coaches and that's who I care about. When they start a site with GMs and coaches writing on message boards, I'll be there.
Van (Asheville, NC)
What's the weirdest thing you've experienced on a football field?
Thomas Davis (4:50 PM)
Probably my redshirt freshman year. I found myself getting dehydrated once and losing too much energy before a game (vs. Clemson). I threw up on the field. That was crazy.
Thomas Davis (4:51 PM)
I felt like Willie Beaman out there.
Ed (Pittsburgh)
c.williams or ronnie brown who would you like to hit on a goal line stop?
Thomas Davis (4:51 PM)
Cadillac.
Thomas Davis (4:51 PM)
He is lighter than Ronnie. But I got the better hit on Ronnie.
Matt (NY)
Playing in Snow or Rain?
Thomas Davis (4:52 PM)
It's going to be different but I'm looking forward to it to see how different it is. I've never played in the snow but a hit looks a lot better in the rain.. all the water flying from the guy's body.
Arthur (Atlanta, GA)
Thomas, I think you personally are faster with pads on in the flow of the game that you are when you're running in front of scouts. Do you agree?
Thomas Davis (4:53 PM)
I think that can be true. In a game you are reacting and your game speed will always be different. You can see a guy come up slow in the 40, not that I did, but he might play faster in a game. Tony Gilbert is a guy like that. His 40 times didn't reflect how fast he was in the games.
3FF (Arlington, VA)
Is Wacko Jacko innocent or guilty?
Thomas Davis (4:54 PM)
I have no opinion! I can't judge anyone. I don't know what happened so I can't say.
Dawg34 (Smyrna, Ga.)
Thomas, seriously didn't y'all want Loren Smith to get the heck off the sideline?
Thomas Davis (4:55 PM)
No, we never had a problem with that. He's a great guy. I never had a problem with that at all. He's an inspiration to me.
mj (davis, ca)
whats for dinner?
Thomas Davis (4:55 PM)
I have no idea. Probably some Zaxby's!
Stick (Nashville, TN)
TD, what are your thoughts on Spurrier going to SC and will it make them as tough to beat as the Gators used to be?
Thomas Davis (4:56 PM)
I very seriously doubt they will be as tough as the Gators before Spurrier left. He had such great talent at Florida. He had everything he needed to win. WRs out the wazoo. But he can build up the prestige at South Carolina.
Carter (Ann Arbor)
Can high school football players make the jump directly to the pro's like basketball or is it just not possible in Football?
Thomas Davis (4:57 PM)
It will never ever happen. This ain't basketball.
Stuckey (Bella Vista)
Are you still gettin buff in workroom
Thomas Davis (4:57 PM)
I'm in the weight room all the time. You can't get complacent. You always have to get better.
Jack (new england)
what would you recommend for me to make my hits harder
Thomas Davis (5:00 PM)
Just run to the ball with bad intentions and whatever happens happens! Thanks for taking the time to chat! I'll come back on after the Draft and take more of your questions!
