Buzzmaster (4:02 PM)
Hellooooo! We'll get started here in a just a moment .. we've got another great edition of THE PULSE on ESPNEWS tomorrow from 1-4ET! Your comments and questions are what make the show!
Buzzmaster (4:09 PM)
Alright! Here's what's on tap for tomorrows show .. Glen Healy will talk World Championships and NHL, the LPGA's Nancy Lopez, Falcons CB Kevin Mathis, Aaron Boudling on video games, looks ahead to Indy 500 and Felix Trinidad v. Winky Wright. Doug Gottlieb will talk NBA Draft. There will also be a visit from Eagles first round draft choice Mike Patterson. Your questions and comments will help make up the show!
Todd (Orange County, CA.)
Will Alex Smith be the starting QB for the 49ers? I don't see handing the reigns over to Ken Dorsey
Buzzmaster (4:14 PM)
It seems all reports out of San Fran are that Smith is really impressing the 49er brass. Wouldn't be shock at all to see him behind center in Week 1.
Charlie: (Little Rock, AR)
Eagles vs. Owens: When will one of ESPN's many analysts/reporters step up and correct the too-oft repeated lie that "Terrell Owens helped lead the Eagles to the Superbowl" when in fact, Owens did not play ONE SINGLE GAME in the playoffs on the way to the Superbowl. The Eagles beat Minnesota and Atlanta without Owens even suiting up!
Fraser (Toronto)
When your going to be as bad as the 49ers will, you might as well send out the young guys to see what you have. I don't see any reason why they wouldn't start Smith in the first week.
Buzzmaster (4:17 PM)
Hey, who has a question or comment for Falcons CB Kevin Mathis? He'll be on the show tomorrow! Your chance to get the inside scoop on the Falcons!
3FF (Arlington, VA)
I'd like to see someone try to analyze the situation with the Edge in Indy. From what I've heard from analysts they have no clue why he wasn't traded during the draft, he could have helped Indy move up for a shut down corner
Prince (Pittsburgh)
I'd like to point out that onw of the main reasons the 49ers were so bad last year is because Kevan Barlow dissappeared off the face of the earth.
Fraser (Toronto)
I would like to know what Mathis thinks of the crop of new WR coming into the league this year? Which guy does he think would pose the biggest coverage problems? A big guy like Mike Williams, or a speedy guy like Troy Williamson?
Tim (Rochester, NY)
Kevan Barlow disappeared because defenses didn't have to worry about Garcia to Owens anymore. They just put 8 in the box - what would they worry about, getting beat by Dorsey? OK.
Sam (chitown)
I think Deron Williams should be the first PG taken in the draft. He is bigger, stronger, more athletic and a better defender than Chris Paul...I know the only knock on him is his offense, but he has the potential to be spectacular on offense.
Tom (nyc)
When all is said and done, I think we will look back on this draft and remeber only three names, Chris Paul, Marvin Williams and HS standout Geral Green.
Zac (Salt Lake City)
Chris Paul will give up 30 points to every opponent he faces. He is a terrible defender, and will get exposed nightly in the NBA.
Jake (Costa Rica)
Andray Blatche out of Syracuse, NY will be a name to remember from this Draft also. Wait and See
3FF (Arlington, VA)
I would like to see Andy Katz make a positive statement about a Big Ten basketball team other than his alma matter, OSU while somehow not managing to put down Indiana athletics. That woud be a true accomplishment worthy of much praise
Tom (nyc)
Indiana needs to worry about trying to get Greg Oden signed and then build a program around him.
Zac (Salt Lake City)
Every player in this draft better start praying that they don't get drafted by the Atlanta Hawks. They are a terrible organization with no direction.
Clint (Indianapolis)
Is it too early to talk about college football?
Buzzmaster (4:47 PM)
Never too early!
Zach (Montezuma, IA)
Besides Matt Leinart, who is the second best player in the country?
Buzzmaster (4:49 PM)
Teammate Reggie Bush?
Steve (Dallas)
The second best player in the country is OU's running back Adrian Peterson
Jake (Costa Rica)
Peterson's the man
Zac (Salt Lake City)
Adrian Peterson of Oklahoma or Vince Young of Texas. Which ever one leads their team to a W in the red river shootout.
Buzzmaster (4:53 PM)
OK, folks! We're going to wrap things up for now but be sure and check out ESPNEWS tomorrow from 1-4 ET ... your questions and comments will make up the show! You can send them in right here between now and then and you could make it on the show!
Buzzmaster (10:35 AM)
Hello! Happy Saturday! We're gearing up for another great edition of The Pulse on ESPNEWS from 1-4 ET! Scroll up just a little to see the guest list! Who has a question for Falcons CB Kevin Mathis, NBA draft expert Doug Gottlieb or LPGA golfer Nancy Lopez? Send them in now and your voice will help make The Pulse the best show on TV!
Scott (Tipp City, Ohio)
Good Morning guys I'm ready for another great show today!
THE PULSE (12:21 PM)
Hello! Welcome to The Pulse! Tune to ESPNEWS at 1 ET and let your voice be heard! Send in questions and comments now on NBA playoffs as well as NHL and the World Championships!
THE PULSE (12:29 PM)
Who has a comment about the Atlanta Falcons! Will they make the playoffs! Will they be a bust! Will Michael Vick be a better QB this season?
Scott (Tipp City, Ohio)
When Vick learns to throw the ball down the field and rely less on his feet and dump off passes they will never be nothing more than pretenders.
JB (Shreveport, LA)
The Falcons will always be in the hunt because of that D. Vick will make his plays and I will bet the Falcons will be there when it counts. Keep underestimating Vick... Let the guy be a football player.
THE PULSE (12:47 PM)
What about the Freddie Mitchell rumors? Should the Falcons give him a chance?
Timbob Veinersnitz Maimi, Florida
Dwayne Wade isn't the next Kobe Bryant he is going to be 1oo times better plus him and shaq get a long better < PACERS GET NOOOO RESPECT>
THE PULSE (12:50 PM)
Hey folks, remember to include your city/state or you won't make it on TV!
Terry: (York PA)
Hey guys, i got my Propel and Flamin' Hot Cheetos and im ready to talk and watch espnews!
Frank (Shaw AFB, SC)
No, FredEx is bad for the locker room. The Falcons are a pretty jelled team after playing together the last 2 years. They don't need a less than decent WR who likes to talk but can't back it up.
Jeff (Hermosa Beach, CA)
Wade could only hope to be as good as Kobe. Kobe gets no respect, but hes the best guard in the league!!!
THE PULSE (12:55 PM)
That's the spirit! Everyone has an opinion on The Pulse! Send 'em in and tune in to ESPNEWS! We're going to be talking NBA playoffs with Will Perdue and NBA draft with Doug Gottlieb! We'll also be talking to Falcons CB Kevin Mathis! And that's just the beginning! There's plenty more to come!
THE PULSE (1:01 PM)
For those that are new to The Pulse, your comments can appear on the show! So send us your thoughts .. keep it short .. and it could appear on the show!
Frank (Shaw AFB, SC)
If Shaq sits out again and the Heat win, the Heat win the title. No one is gonna be able to stop them with a week of rest.
James (Chicago)
With or without Shaq, the Wizards are disappearing tonight.
Terry: (York PA)
The Heat and the Suns will be in the NBA finals if anyone is wondering. Also I think Phil will coach the cavs. He will suprise everyone.
InThought (Fremont, CA)
Miami takes Washington in 4; they have completely deflated the moral of the opposition.
Yousif (Houston)
Phil Jackson will end up with the Lakers. There is no way he goes to the Kings or Cavs
doug (goshen,ny)
i hope the suns can win their series. a heat vs. suns final would be great.
Joe Miller
I believe that the INDIANA PACERS have a good chance to go all the way this year. People have given us crap all year, and Carlisle should have been coach of the year. You tell me one team that could have come back like we did if they lost a couple ALL STARS!?!?!
Patrick chandler (jacksonville,florida)
the lakers will win the lottery and get andrew bogut because the nba dosen't want a losing team in Los Angeles and then phill jackson will come back to the lakers and they will win it all.
Wade County (Miami)
Heat will win tonight because they really want to win tonight in order to give Shaq atleast a week of rest since Indiana and Detroit are going seven.
Scott (Tipp City, Ohio)
Phil is going to go where he can win a championship the quickest and that is not in LA or Cleveland it would in Minnesota with Garnett. If they unload Cassell and Sprewell.
Ruzy Behnejad (Miami, FL)
Miami's goin all the way baby. Aint no one that can beat us four times. go heat. d wade mvp next year
Wade County (Miami)
The Pacers have more heart, Detroit is just looking towards playing the Heat but they might have to wait till next year if thet dont focus on Indiana.
Dan (North Andover, MA)
The Pistons are more mentally tough than the Celtics. They win in 6 at worst.
InThought (Fremont, CA)
Detroit will win 3 strait...Miami vs. Det = Miami in 6
Frank (Shaw AFB, SC)
Seattle has no chance in this series. They got banged up at the wrong time and the Spurs are hotter than the Heat right now.
THE PULSE (1:18 PM)
We have Glen Healy coming up here soon to talk NHL and World Championships. Send your questions and comments now!
John (Lexington, KY)
NHL? Does anyone still care about the NHL?
Alex (Green Bay)
The NHL is just getting stupid with this lockout they should just comprimise and get it over with
Chris ((Boston))
Canada has to be the favorite to win the World Championship, they should win the tournament
Shawn (CT)
No one misses hockey with NBA playoffs and MLB just kicking off
Frank (Shaw AFB, SC)
My stress level is down without hockey. I usually go through 3 or 4 remotes a season.
Kevin (Springfield, MA)
Lots of people are missing the Stanley Cup playoffs right now. I know I am.
Jake (Atl)
I also think with the addition of roddy white, and the offseason training for vick, he will improve on the west coast offense and, we will c Peerless price really shine
THE PULSE (1:37 PM)
Hey everyone, we have Eagles rookie draft pick Mike Patterson coming up soon! Start sending your questions and comments on the Eagles, USC and more!
THE PULSE (1:40 PM)
We also will be talking video games coming up! Send your video game questions now!
THE PULSE (1:42 PM)
Also, Mike Massaro will be here to talk auto racing! Any autos questions and comments, send them along now!
Scott (Tipp City, Ohio)
Mike Patterson is undersized (height wise) but makes up for it with speed and strength.
Kyle Brink (Londonderry, NH)
Bougot needs to toughin up if he's going to make it in the NBA.
Frank (Shaw AFB, SC)
I'm telling you, Ryan Gomes is the most uderrated player in this draft.
Scott (Tipp City, Ohio)
Who has time to play video games when you are watching the PULSE?
Frank (Shaw AFB, SC)
Bogut played against mediocre competetion. It's gonna be tough for him to hit contested 17-footers in the NBA.
Rich (New York)
Hakim Warrick is the most underrated player in the draft
Saad (Commack,NY)
Mike is going to be a great addition to the Eagles' defensive line.
Dan (North Andover, MA)
I agree on Bogut. okafor abused him last year in the preseason NIT and he was playing hurt.
THE PULSE (1:50 PM)
OK, who has thoughts on Terrell Owens! Let's hear it!
Shawn (San Diego, ca)
Owen's needs to suck it up and go to mini camp. if he doesn't he will have to find a new home!!!!
Michael (Philadelphia, PN)
McNabb needs someone like owens but i dont want owens around if he's going to be that much of a distraction, its the same reason the vikings sent randy moss packing
Scott (Tipp City, Ohio)
I hope the Eagles let him sit on his butt the whole year!
Mike (Vancouver, WA)
Why didn't TO approach the Eagles privately? Going public with his demands seems to have been more damaging.
David (Salt Lake City, UT)
Chemistry on a team is more important than a superstar. Owens would be a cancer, time for a trade.
Scott (Tipp City, Ohio)
T.O. going public is his way of doing things he can't do anything privately, it would'nt get any attention then.
Matt ((Haddonfield, NJ))
TO is right about NFL contracts not being guaranteed, and he bought himself a one way ticket out of Philadelphia after this year, good luck getting anything more than Philly was paying you.
taylor (Pittsburgh)
T.O. is a bad influence on the eagles he brings bad air to the eagles
Terry: (York PA)
About TO sitting on his but the whole year, that might not work, and if it doesn't and we dont win a super bowl then it will be a regret.
THE PULSE (2:01 PM)
Who has a video game comment that they want to see on TV! Send it now!
Nick (State College, PA)
This year's Madden is, as always, the best one on the market and it just gets better every year. Will anyone ever be able to make a football game to compete?
Chris (Boston)
Nothing can beat the Madden video games...nothing
Dylan (Richmond, Va)
Whoever said above that Deron Williams is more athletic than Chris Paul is completely wrong. He might be bigger and stronger, but Paul is more athletic by a long shot. That is why Paul was first team All-American.
Dan (North Andover, MA)
No Nick. Not since the NFL signed a contract saying that the only NFL Licensed game can be Madden, beginning this year.
THE PULSE (2:09 PM)
We also have Will Carroll coming up to talk about MLB and the steroids problem. Will has a new book coming out ''The Juice: The Real Story of Baseball's Drug Problem''
Matt (Sellersville PA)
Too bad D-Mac is on the cover of Madden 2006..does anyone think the Eagles can win the Super Bowl now?
THE PULSE (2:11 PM)
The Madden Curse! Let's hope that is a thing of the past.
THE PULSE (2:14 PM)
Who has a NASCAR comment they want to see on TV?
Terry: (York PA)
Jeff Gordon and Jimmy Johnson are going to be fighting for the Cup at the end.
Josh (Philly)
Playing Madden is better than breathing!!!!!
THE PULSE (2:21 PM)
OK, we are going to be breaking down the MLB steroid situation here soon .. so send in your questions and comments!
Matt (Sellersville PA)
With all this talk about steroids, now old players are chiming in like Tom House!
alex (tampa FL)
barry bonds just work out 24-7 hes not on steroids
Ron Friedmoney (Baltimore, MD)
The MLB Steroid Situation is improving tremendously. With congress's help, we can get things moving in the right direction
Frank (Shaw AFB, SC)
Sweet, I got on before softball practice. Thanks guys!
Mike (Philadelphia)
Congress should prod, but the pro leagues should simply adopt Olympic standards.
Chris (Austin)
Steroids in baseball... it's just the tip of the iceberg.
Shawn (No Sto, CT)
Yes, the steroid situation is improving, but not nearly enough.
THE PULSE (2:30 PM)
Folks, Mike Patterson is coming up soon on the show! You can still send questions and comments for him!
Shawn (No Sto, CT)
The fact that HR numbers are way down is an on-field sign of the new steroid policy.
THE PULSE (2:32 PM)
We'll also be talking more NBA playoffs! Any questions or comments about your favorite team, send them along! Hope you are enjoying the show!
Drew (Miami)
Miami Heat all the way this year!!!!
Bryan (Marion OH)
Miami will not lose a playoff game until the NBA Finals
Tim (Baltimore, MD)
Reggie Millers heart will never stop and the Pacers will win it all.
James (Seattle)
Don't sleep on the Sonics! Seattle will beat the Spurs in 7 and beat Miami for the ring.
Terry: (York PA)
Reggie Miller gets away with too much!!!! (talking fouls)
Zach (Kansas City)
Dallas is terribly overrated.
Dan (Sacramento)
Seattle is horrible. They are a one player team. They will not win anything.
Dan (Sacramento)
Reggie put in his years. He doesnot get any more calls then any other superstar.
Sean, (Hacienda Heights)
Mike Patterson, the best defensive player for USC last year. USC all the way BABY!
Ryan (Vegas, NV)
Reggie gets more calls because he has such good knowledge of the game
Chris (Boston)
Pacers have tons of momentum and should beat Detroit 4-1.
Julian (Miami)
Miami Heat wont lose a game this whole post season! D-Wade MVP Finals!
Bryan (Marion OH)
I will always remember Reggie for his fued with Spike Lee
Don (Baltimore, MD)
I think Detroit is a little overrated. Having just 28 points at halftime is horrible. Although I do give them credit for coming back to take the lead momentarily.
THE PULSE (2:45 PM)
We'll also be previewing the Felix Trinidad vs. Winky Wright fight a little later in the show .. feel free to send your questions and comments on the big fight!
Dan (Sacramento)
Knock off all of these steorids stories. I am just sick of it
Tim (Baltimore, MD)
MVP Steve Nash will carry the Suns to the championship and they will face the Pacers
Bill R (Philly)
Mike "Baby Sapp" Patterson is a great pick by the Eagles. Especially with Corey Simon's status, he will be a great addition into an already deep defensive line
Duncan (Londonderry, NH)
Mike Patterson may be smaller than average, but he just gets results on the field, he has all the makings of a future star in the NFL.
Fred ( Houston TX)
Terrell Owens is nothing more than a Big Show off but nothing to show for
Josh (Mount Laurel, NJ)
The best thing T.O. can do right now is fire Drew Rosenhaus.
THE PULSE (2:59 PM)
Let's here those comments on the big fight tonight! It's THE PULSE! It's your show! Trinidad v. Wright!
Junior (Durham)
Trinidad will knowck Wright out in round 2
Ryan (Vegas, NV)
Trinidad v. Wright - best fight of the year
george v. (fairfield)
trinidad in 6 rounds
alex (tampa FL)
trinidad is to good for winky
Lou (Scranton, PA)
Jermaine Taylor will beat both of them.
Jay (Abington MA)
Trinidad v. Wright : Another great fight spoiled by no knockout.
Scott (Tipp City, Ohio)
Winky is moving up in weight Trinidad is coming off retirement, Winky in close dec.!
craig. frederick,md
trinidad is to skill of a champion to lose to bum like wright
THE PULSE (3:08 PM)
We're talking boxing on the show next! Tune in to ESPNEWS right now to see your questions and comments!
Ryan (Vegas, NV)
Bum? He didn't look like a bum when he whooped on Mosley
Rodriguez (Weir Ms)
I think Winky Wright is a great fighter, but he want have enough for Felix Trinidad.
Daunte (Cleveland)
Winky should have no problem dealing with Trinidad. Winky in 5 rounds.
THE PULSE (3:12 PM)
ESPN.com's own Dan Rafael will be coming up on the show next to talk boxing!
Justin (Henderson, Ky)
Trinidad will own wright!
Erin ((Jacksonville, FL))
Trinidad in 6 rounds.
Dontae Blake (Los Angeles, CA)
Whoever wins it will be a good fight
george (pittsburgh)
Winky Wright has nothing!
george (pittsburgh)
Trinidad will force Wright to retirement.
Derrick (mansfield TX)
Boxing needs a superstar, no one to watch. Regardless who wins, no one will see it.
Alex (Tampa, Florida)
Boxing is way over rated, nobody watch's it anymore
THE PULSE (3:24 PM)
We're still going to talk NBA playoffs and NASCAR in the show! So send off your questions and comments now!
Andrew Loomer (Cheney WA)
Seattle gets no respect, they got an instant offense in Ray Allen who can change the outcome of any game
Gil (Huntington Beach,Ca.)
The Miami Heats lack of quality opponents will hurt them in the later rounds.
Gil (Huntington Beach,Ca.)
No team could match up with the Spurs overall play!
3FF (Arlington, VA)
I wonder how much complaining the Pistons can do in a 48 hour period...starting right now!
Ryan (Vegas, NV)
Sonics are the worst team in the playoffs right now and they figured out a way to beat the Spurs.
Rodriguez(Weir, MS)
I think Miami will win the championship because wade is on fire and along as wade is playing well they will win.
Warren (Slumrise)
Lack of quality opponents can't hurt when you need a certain big fella to get healthy
Brian (Miami)
D-Wade and the Heat will finish of the Wiz tonight.
Rahmid Trotman (philly)
The Mavs need Dirk to stop playing in the media they need him to play a big role in the game.!!!
chuck c Lincoln NE
The NBA playoffs used to be great, til this year,I thought with no hockey playoffs the nba would really appeal to me.BORING please football season hurry and get here to stop the unmadness.....
Gil (Huntington Beach,Ca.)
Remember that defense wins championships not nicknames!
Pat (Pittsburgh)
Remember, defense wins championships and Detroit has too much of it.
Scott (Tipp City, Ohio)
The longer the Spurs are in it the healthier Duncan's ankle gets the worse for the league.
Erin ((Jacksonville, FL))
Spurs beat Sonics in six
Rodriguez Miller (Weir, MS)
D-Wade and the Heat will finish the Wizards off in great style. That means that the Wizards are going to get blown out.
Gil (Huntington Beach,Ca.)
If the Pacers beat the Pistons they could beat the Heat too! Don't forget the Heat got swept by the Pacers in the regular season.
Blake (Paducah, Kentucky)
Prince will lead Detroit back into the series.
Drew (Miami)
Gil, you are wrong. The Heat took at game from the Pacers in Miami. Pacers were 3-1 vs. Miami. Also, Shaq didn't play a game where Indiana beat Miami.
THE PULSE (3:52 PM)
We're nearing the end of the show! We're going to finish it up with a little NASCAR talk! Send your questions and comments now for Sporting News NASCAR writer Lee Spencer and tune into ESPNEWS!
THE PULSE (3:54 PM)
Also, any feedback you have about the show, send it along! What do you like? What do you not like? What would you like to see more of? Let us know!
THE PULSE (3:58 PM)
Thanks for another great show! We'll see you next week!
