Cowens collected over 10,000 rebounds during his 11-year career and built his reputation on hustle, tenacity and work ethic. He spent 10 years in Boston and led the Celtics to NBA championships in 1974 and 1976, his consistency, unselfishness, versatility and energy establishing him as one of the most solid and respected centers in recent NBA history.
