No matter when or what you send us, be sure to include your name and your hometown!
YOU are SportsNation, we're checking YOUR PULSE. Sound off using the form below!
The Pulse (5:53 PM)
Hey everybody! Welcome to the weekend! Join us right here on Saturday for THE PULSE. It's the new interactive television show on ESPNEWS from 1-4 ET. You write it with your questions and opinions and we put them on the air, it's as easy as that!
The Pulse (6:02 PM)
This week's guests include ... Blue Jays' Shea Hillenbrand, WNBA's Diana Taurasi, NASCAR's Ryan Newman, Andy North from the U.S. Open, Greg Anthony and Dee Brown on The Finals and Bruce Feldman on college football news.
The Pulse (6:03 PM)
Submit your questions and comments to any one of our guests now, using the fields below with your name and city (and be sure to include their name in your comment so we know who you're aiming at). See you Saturday!
Derrick (Buffalo, NY)
Hey PULSE, I'm up early today! Can't wait till 1 ET, I see you've even got some hockey for me this afternoon. We miss that in B-lo! (Although, we may be the only place in America!)
The Pulse (10:50 AM)
Hey Derrick, good to see you're ready and rearing to chat with us today on The Pulse. AND, glad we can provide your hockey fix! You people who miss the puck can send in your questions to ESPN The Magazine's EJ Hradek. He'll be joining us later this afternoon to talk NHL news.
Dari Nowkhah (11:17 AM)
Good morning Derrick... we're getting ready to rock and roll. Hey, everybody, start getting those questions in for our guests. David Amber and I are going to chat with you guys throughout the day too! Let's have some fun.
Ryan (Worcester, MA)
I tried watching the pulse last week and I didn't notice any difference between it and regular ESPNnews..whats the deal?
THE PULSE (12:15 PM)
OK, fair question. Here's the breakdown on how THE PULSE is different. For one thing, there is this chat room that you are in right now. It's a little sidecar to the TV show. We are in here chatting about what we're watching on ESPNEWS. Even the anchors -- Dari and Dave -- are in the room, talking back to you all when they're not on camera. That's different. The email questions for all of our guests come from those submitted in this chat room. Also, the instant inputs come from here, too. That's really different. Instant inputs are the little pop-up-video-type bubbles that you'll see throughout The Pulse. That means, any time you have a comment about what you see or what's coming up, send it in right here with your name and hometown and you could see it pop up on your TV screen!
Scott (Tipp City, Ohio)
Good morning Guys I am back this week!
Dari Nowkhah (12:33 PM)
What's up Scott, you ready to roll?
THE PULSE (12:33 PM)
Glad to see Tipp City is represented today, Scott!
Anthony (Montague)
i think the pulse is great cuz it gives people the chance to voice their own opinion to the world
THE PULSE (12:34 PM)
That's the idea, Anthony. Glad you like it, and glad you're on board for today's show. We're just under a half an hour away!
Kirk (Carlsbad, Calif. )
The West-side is in the house! What up Pulse!!
THE PULSE (12:37 PM)
Alright, Kirk, good morning to you in Cali! SportsNation, I'm impressed with the nationwide attendance already ... and we haven't even gotten started yet. You guys get a gold star.
Jason (Norman)
Oklahoma in the effect! Boomer Sooner!
Dari Nowkhah (12:38 PM)
Kirk, watch out for the quakes, Bro. Good-Ness!
THE PULSE (12:38 PM)
Nice! Who else do we have kicking around in here today? Holler at me. Show me your colors!
Dari Nowkhah (12:39 PM)
BOO-MER!!
VICTOR (alexandria,la)
IF OKLAHOMA WINS IT ALL, I WILL TALK.
Dale (Nebraska)
The Huskers are going to win the College World Series. I'll put that in talk right now!
Dari Nowkhah (12:44 PM)
Go Big Red! What an atmosphere Rosenblatt must be this week... Mike Anderson is an awesome guy. Quite a program they've built in Lincoln.
VICTOR (alexandria, LA)
Makke sure my question on the air gets to diana taurasi. i would ike to know if she is going to be a head coach real soon for u.conn.
THE PULSE (12:46 PM)
Victor, we're all about putting your questions on the air ... but I don't think DT is ready to retire and coach her Huskies just yet. She's got a lot of balling days left in those young legs. She's only a sophomore pro! Plus ... I'm think Mr. Auriemma may have something to say about her coaching the Huskies 'real soon'.
Chris Waco TX
Where's David Amber? Dari's doin all the chat work! By the way, I love the pulse. And Go Go Goosen today!!
Dari Nowkhah (12:46 PM)
What's up Chris... Dave's finishing up a couple of things... he'll be on soon. Thanks for hangin.'
THE PULSE (12:47 PM)
Texas has entered the building. Glad you like The Pulse, Chris. I'll keep an eye out for David, and tell him that the people are demanding his presence.
Liam (D.C.)
Who can we send in questions and comments for now?
THE PULSE (1:01 PM)
You can send in questions and comments for any of our guests from here on out. It looks like we're going to get started with the NBA press conferences so we could really use your comments on The Finals. We'll flash instant inputs! Also, we could use some college football questions and comments and some goodies for Shea Hillenbrand of the Blue Jays! It's 1 o'clock!
Scott (Tipp City, Ohio)
"Lets get it started in here".
THE PULSE (1:10 PM)
Alright, away we go. You just heard Tim Duncan's take on The Finals ... what do you guys think?? Let's hear it!
Jordan (Columbus, Ohio)
I picked the Pistons in October, and I'll stick with them in June!
Anthony ((Montague, NJ))
Chauncey Billups is nasty!
Albert (San Antonio)
If it wasnt for all of those turnovers the Spurs would be doing a lot better.
Columbus,Ohio
Do you really think the Pistons have a chance.I dont think they do I think the Spurs are just toying with them but its over
Drew (miami)
Tomorrow is a must win for the Spurs.
Anthony (Montague, NJ)
Detroit's defense causes those turnovers
Jordan (Columbus, Ohio)
I can't believe the NBA Title Poll!!!! 50-50 is very interesting!
THE PULSE (1:15 PM)
Yeah, we just noticed that, too. There's actually over 17,000 votes in that one and it's 50-50 Spurs-Pistons. It's a toss up!
JBL (New York)
The Pistons D is too good in Detroit for SA to win Game 5.
David Amber (1:16 PM)
Hey guys... Whose going to win the U-S Open?Any chance Olin Browne or Jason Gore pulls this thing off?Any questions/comments lets us know
Drew (Miami)
Jason Gore has no chance.
Dari Nowkhah (1:18 PM)
who would have thought Todd Hamilton would win the British? Gore has a chance... just a very, very, very slim one. Did I say "Very?"
Scott (Tipp City, Ohio)
Olin Browne what a cinderella story he shoots 59 in the qualifier and he is still in contention you gotta love him!
Clive (KC)
Vijay will make his presence known, he takes the tournament, not Goosen. Tiger, he'll have to wait his turn.
Scott (Tipp City, Ohio)
I get tired of hearing about the big 4 all the time, you have to cheer for the underdog!
Dustin (Augusta, GA)
Hey, now were talking. Just saw something from the Pulse pop up there on ESPNews.
THE PULSE (1:23 PM)
Heck yes, we don't mess around. As we talk about The Finals and cut to the news conference, keep your comments coming and we'll pop 'em up. Let's come back to NBA, we'll talk more about Pinehurst a little later.
Albert (San Antonio)
Tomorrow isnt a must win for the spurs... detroit hasnt proved that they can win at the sbc center just like the spurs havent proved they can win in detroit.
Anthony (Montague, NJ)
Everyone is sayin that Manu is a superstar, why isnt he showing it in Detroit when he needs to step it up the most?
Albert (San Antonio)
Im ready for this game on sunday, its going to be a game 7 atmosphere. Both teams understand this game is important.
Danny (Rubicon WI)
Tim Duncan has lost his touch and hasn't been very impressive. The Pistons will win the series because their defense is suting down the only thing the Spurs have.
Orton (St. Louis, MZ)
Pistons will win game 5 and take complete control of the series and end the losing streak in SA!!!
Seth (Tenafly, NJ)
Rasheed Wallace will play a big role in whether the Pistons win the title or not.
Thomas (Lincoln City, Oregon)
The Spurs should have never beaten the Suns. I hope the Pistons crush them!
David Amber (1:27 PM)
Is it just me or shoud Duncan and Ginobli have their pictures on milk cartons? These guys better come out of hiding tomorrow!!
Jake (Costa Rica)
Duncan and Ginobili are the keys to victory for the Spurs to win.
Jordan (Columbus, Ohio)
Tim Duncan can't keep up. Lets remember that Tim isn't the fastest to make a transiton from D to O
PHIL (CINCINNATI)
Do you think tim duncan is trying too hard to get his teamates involved?
Danny Harford WI
Why hasn't tony parker stepped it up like he did last time the Spurs won a championship?
Seth (Tenafly, NJ)
Tim Duncan needs to play like he normally does. He can't get caught up in the pressure of the Finals!
RKO (St. Louis, MZ)
The Spurs are missing to many easy shots and are turning over the ball way too much to stay with Detroit.
Albert (San Antonio)
i have no idea what ur talking about... Duncan is the complete package on d and o. He has every award already.
Louie (Falfurrias Tx)
When the Spurs play their best, which they will in game 5, they are unstoppable!!
RKO (St. Louis, MZ)
Pistons will win out the rest of the series, they're playing their type of ball.
Robert Bates (Wilmington,NC)
Detroit will WIN.
Seth (Tenafly, NJ)
Ginobili had more points in the first half of Game 1 than he did in Games 3 and 4 combined. And Duncan had his lowest point totals in his carrer in the Finals the last few games. The Spurs can't tolerate this and still defeat the Pistons.
Jordan (Columbus, Ohio)
What does Giddy mean Popovich?
THE PULSE (1:34 PM)
There you have it. Leggs confirms giddy is ''a lightheaded sensation.''
Mike. Scranton, PA
How do you think Pop will stop the Pistons in game 5, after being destroyed the last 2 games?
danny hartford WI
I don't think Greg poppovich is coaching his team very well at all.
Brandon
Even Tim Duncan seems deflated. Pop has got to get his team's spirits up.
Dari Nowkhah (1:37 PM)
Maybe it's just me... but I really don't care which team wins the series... I JUST WANT A GOOD GAME! If there's a game 7, it will be great.
Jordan (Columbus, Ohio)
Everyone is saying that the Pistons have it in the bag. Its clear that home field advantage is the case here with lopsided wins on both courts. I expect the Pistons to win tomorrow then Spurs in game six and Pistons pull it out in 7
Robert (Wilmington, NC)
Detroit will Win, Duncan will be shut down for the remainder of the series.
Keith (Rochester, MI)
Increased scoring from Rasheed Wallace will be the key if the Pistons are to win it all.
Courtney (Baltimore)
The Spurs will move the ball around and take more outside shots early. They will still end up with the same result.
THE PULSE (1:38 PM)
And what is that Courtney -- the two big wins, or the two hard losses??
Courtney (Baltimore)
The wins!
Seth (Tenafly, NJ)
Dari's right! There has not been a game decided by less than 15 points in this series thus far.
Louie (Falfurrias Tx)
Game 5 is pivotal for Detroit. If they lose, its over because the Spurs are so good at home.
RKO (St. Louis, MZ)
I think everyone is focusing on what the Spurs are doing wrong, cant Detroit get some respect for what THEIR doing right to cause these problems for SA
Jake (Costa Rica)
Sheed is the MAN
Cleveland, Ohio
I think Tim Duncan is the most overrated amongst the superstars Mr. Fundamentals was mr. crybaby and mr. foul prone during the olympics which showed me alot about his personality. And now in the finals he's not consistent enough, we're still waiting on Mr. Fundamentals to be Mr. Dominate!
Louisa (Horicon, Wisconsin)
Ginobili really needs to step up his games like he did in games 1 and 2 in order for the spurs the win in all...
Joe (Detroit, MI)
Ginobili? He is too soft to be a key player. He now knows better to go down the lane. Pistons in 6.
Tyler (Windsor, Ontario)
Larry Brown has made the adujstments needed to completly shut down the Spurs. The Spurs are in BIG trouble. Go PISTONS!!!
KJ (Clayton, NC)
I think Rasheed Wallace will play much better than what he has been playing because Rip and Chauncey can't keep carrying the team
Scott (Tipp City, Ohio)
The Spurs can't set there defense on turnovers and missed shots and that is killing them offensively.
RKO (St. Louis, MZ)
Larry Brown is among the best coaches of all time and should stay in Detroit!
Keith (Rochester, MI)
Interesting how we haven't heard much about Larry Brown having one foot out the door lately, isn't it?
Jordan (Columbus, Ohio)
I don't know why Brown is talking, he might end up in Cleveland tomorrow talking about his newly acquired GM job for the Cavs.
Scott (Tipp City, Ohio)
Larry Brown would put everybody to sleep if he was a motivational speaker.
Dari Nowkhah (1:45 PM)
If Larry is out after the season, who should the Pistons hire to replace him?
Kenyel Jones (Clayton, NC)
Paul Silas
Seth (Tenafly, NJ)
The Pistons should look for Flip Saunders if Larry Brown leaves. Nate McMillan is also a good choice.
Albert (San Antonio)
Flip Saunders... hed be perfect. He is a very underrated coach. His team in minnesota was all Garnett.
Dari Nowkhah (1:47 PM)
Why would McMillan leave Seattle?
RKO (St. Louis, MZ)
If Larry goes, why not look at someone like Doug Collins
Kenyel Jones (Clayton, NC)
Paul Silas should go to the Pistons if Larry Brown dosen't return because he turned the Cleveland Cavaliers to a good team even though LeBron James was there he still a good coach!
Brandon (Canada)
They should hire me!
THE PULSE (1:49 PM)
Brandon is an out-of-work hockey coach looking for something to do up there.
Dari Nowkhah (1:49 PM)
Kenyel, the Cavs were headed for the gutter before Silas was sent out. They were falling apart, would you really hire him in Detroit?
Jake (Costa Rica)
Doug Collins is horrible
Courtney (Baltimore)
Lambier is the answer since he is in the organization any way.
Joe (Detroit, MI)
Yeah, what about Bill Laimbeer to replace Brown if he goes?
Kenyel Jones (Clayton, NC)
Bill Laimbeer coaches the girls!
THE PULSE (1:52 PM)
The girls -- in Detroit. Maybe he'd peace out on the WNBA if he had a chance to coach the Pistons.
Joe (Detroit, MI)
That was just a stepping stone. He won a championship w/ the Shock.
THE PULSE (1:53 PM)
Yes he did.
Josh (Terre Haute)
I think the Lakers should have hired Laimbeer!
Scott (Tipp City, Ohio)
Laimbeer is going to coach the Knicks.
Jake (Costa Rica)
Laimbeer coaching Sheed, match made in heaven.
Jahmale, Tamarac, FL
Rasheed Wallace is the biggest whiner in the nba behind alonzo mourning when it comes to complaining to the refs
Kenyel Jones (Clayton, NC)
Rasheed is averaging 13.8 points a game he needs to be averaging 25 a game i expect more out of him!
Jordan (Columbus, Ohio)
Rasheed is slowly becoming a better and better player. I think he is a HUGE factor in the Pistons 2nd championship.
Kenyel Jones (Clayton, NC)
Rasheed needs a haircut and a shave his beard off....lol.......but he knows the truth
RKO (St. Louis, MZ)
i was just on TV!! THANKS!!!
Khary (Washington D.C)
Rasheed Wallace is a very solid player who always speaks his mind. Sheed is my hometown hero. PHILLY!!!
VICTOR alexandria,la
Larry Brown is the best coach ever in nba history and ifhe leaves i will pass out.
THE PULSE (2:00 PM)
Whoa. Get some water Victor! Alright, let's change topics before we lose him. We'll talk US Open and college football coming up. Send in those questions and comments, SportsNation!
THE PULSE (2:02 PM)
Address your college football questions to BRUCE FELDMAN. And we'll need some questions and comments for Diana Taurasi, too.
David Amber (2:12 PM)
Andy North... wnats you!!!!Get your comments/questions on the PULSE
Jordan (Horicon, Wisconsin)
tiger woods is going to win the us open despite his early slump\
Robert (Wilmington, NC)
Tiger will come away with another Victory
Courtney (Baltimore)
Tiger and Mik both make a charge on Sunday
THE PULSE (2:17 PM)
Did you see Mickelson's meltdown, Courtney??
Carl (Lexginton, MA)
Phil Mickelson has no shot
Eric Robbins (Columbus, Indiana)
Andy, is Sergio Garcia finally primed to win a United States Open?
THE PULSE (2:18 PM)
You're on TV, Eric!
Mike Fields (Renton, WA)
What score do you think coming into the clubhouse on Sunday afternoon will be good enough to claim the U.S. Open title?
THE PULSE (2:18 PM)
You too, Mike!
Scott (Tipp City, Ohio)
I do believe we will see an above par score to win the US Open.
brandon (new york city)
i dont think the golfers will get past 3 over par in the us open they are not playing well
Mark Cline (Richmond, VA)
Andy - Looking back at your US Open victories, At what point in the tournaments did you realize you were "in this thing", and describe how you kept your emotions in check.
THE PULSE (2:19 PM)
You're on, Mark.
Ryan (New York,NY)
VJ singh will win the US open.
Scott (Tipp City, Ohio)
Tiger will come up short in his quest of Jack's 18 majors.
Kenyel Jones (Clayton, North Carolina)
Phil Michelson is a 3 time runner up at Pinehurst
Ryan (New York,NY)
You do think the course has Phill's number?
Jonas (South Carolina)
Andy North still likes Tiger to win it!
John - San Jose, CA
What's up with Tiger damaging the green? He's a poor sport and he did little to repair the damage.
Johnson (Morristown, NJ)
Andy, what was the deal with Tiger's shirt yesterday?
Kenyel Jones (Clayton, North Carolina)
Tiger Woods is having a bad start because every body there is there to see him
VICTOR alexandria,la
i still think tiger woods is the best golfer ever.but he needs to hit them fairways and greens.
artie (paso robles, ca)
tiger will come back to win.
David Amber (2:22 PM)
Any Big 10 fans out there?
David Amber (2:24 PM)
Can anyone beat Michigan this year?
thomas (monroe, la)
LSU can (if they play that is)
Albert (San Antonio)
The real question is can anyone beat USC?
Albert (San Antonio)
Texas is going to beat a big 10 favorite ohio st. in one of the most exciting games to watch in college football next year.
Dave (London)
Big-Ten fan right here! i think Ohio State has what it takes to challenge USC
Calvin W. Boaz (Clearwater, FL)
No collge football playoff please. The vote should be a landslide for no. Most college playoffs are unfair. The NCAA cares about more about the money brought in then declaring a proper champion.
THE PULSE (2:25 PM)
Should there be a playoff in college football? What do you think??
artie (paso robles, ca)
The playoff is needed so badly.
Keith (Rochester, MI)
The BCS is a joke! The NCAA needs to see the light and setup a playoff system.
David Amber (2:26 PM)
Hey Calvin... If there is a playoff wouldn;t we have a real champion... WIt hthe best team the last one standing
Jake (Costa Rica)
Michigan will beat Ohio St
Dustin (Augusta, GA)
No one in the Big 10 is better than Michigan.
Calvin W. Boaz (Clearwater, FL)
Purdue will win the Big 10
Albert (San Antonio)
This is the year Texas finally takes out Bob Stoops.
Dave (London)
Ohio States New aggressive defense an revamped offense has what it takes to go to the bighouse an beat michigan
mike (orange county)
ou sooners will kill everyone..
Mike (The Ohio ST)
Ted Ginn Jr will own Michigan this year .
DAVID BUCHMAN (PARKLAND,FL)
USC WILL NOT WIN THE NCAA TITLE B/C OF THE LOSS OF PLAYERS AND LOSS OF COACHES
Scott (Tipp City, Ohio)
Reggie Bush helped Matt Leinart win the Heisman last year, so Matt returns this year to help Reggie win it this year.
David Amber (2:27 PM)
Hey Mike, dari likes your posting... He is still getting over last years finish
Josh (Omaha)
Indiana will win the big 10.
Christine (Fresno)
I think with the fiasco that happened 2 years ago as we as times before, the only way to have a true national champion is with a playoff
Albert (San Antonio)
There should never be two champions in the same year. Thats so ridiculous about college football.
Kenyel Jones (Clayton, North Carolina)
Keith was on TV
RKO (St. Louis, MZ)
College football should use the same postseason schedule as the NFL, that way there is not controversy
Dave (London)
the playoffs are a must. too many teams are being left out
Kenyel Jones (Clayton, North Carolina)
USC has the best coach and the best QB what else do they need
Christine (Fresno)
USC is obviously the team to beat even to east coast biased fans
Dustin (Augusta, GA)
There is no reason for anyone not to give all the creedence to USC as the most favord team in college football each and every Saturday until their playing for another national championship; but until I see something to make me think otherwise I am going to put money on Florida covering every game this year. Chris Leak has all the makings to be a GREAT college football quarterback, and if Urban Meyer could do what he did with Alex Smith and the Utes I believe he is going to thrive with Chris Leak and the Gators. And you can put that on THE PULSE for "who will challenge USC?"
RKO (St. Louis, MZ)
and USC has Reggie Bush
David Amber (2:29 PM)
Best College Qb in the land?Any thoughts?
Christine (Fresno)
the fact that the big east gets an automatic bcs bid is a joke.
Albert (San Antonio)
Can Chris Leak ever play in a meaningful game and win?
Jake (Costa Rica)
Leinart is the best, DEFINITELY
Seth (Tenafly, NJ)
Bruce, who do you feel has the best shot to win the SEC?
THE PULSE (2:31 PM)
You're on TV, Seth.
Albert (San Antonio)
Vince Young is the best QB... hes throwing better than he has been in a long time. Air McNair is teaching him a lot about the game.
Dave (London)
Its matt leinart no contest
Ryan (New York,NY)
The best QB is from the MAC:Omar Jacobs..
Christine (Fresno)
Matt Leinart probably has the best head for the game but I am not sure he has the best QB skills
THE PULSE (2:33 PM)
Alright, I think we've established that USC looks pretty good this year. We'll move on after this break. We've got Diana Taurasi coming up along with Ryan Newman, EJ Hradek, Andy Katz ane Shea Hillenbrand all on tap!
THE PULSE (2:34 PM)
It's 2:30 -- we're halfway in. How you all doing??
Scott (Tipp City, Ohio)
I like the new format with Dari and Dave involved.
dave (parkland,fl)
I'm good, this is fun!
Albert (San Antonio)
Im good, What is andy katz going to talk about?
THE PULSE (2:35 PM)
Katz will be talking about the NBA Draft.
Albert (San Antonio)
Maybe andy will talk about the #2 prospect from oak hill going to Texas next year.
THE PULSE (2:36 PM)
Maybe. :)
Stephen (Durham)
I'm great, I've got my laptop and my ESPNews. Everything is in synch.
Jake (Costa Rica)
I'd be better if I could see ESPNews
THE PULSE (2:37 PM)
Oh no, Jake! No News in Costa Rica?? C'mon! Call your cable provider! :)
AlEx (Brooklyn, New York)
The show is wonderful.
Jake (Costa Rica)
Directv doesnt have it down here
THE PULSE (2:42 PM)
Sorry Jake, we'll show you love even if you can't see it!
THE PULSE (2:42 PM)
Here's Diana Taurasi!!
James (Philly)
DT is one of the best characters in all of sports!
THE PULSE (2:43 PM)
You're on, James!
VICTOR alexandria,la
diana is my favorite basketball player ever.
james (la)
dt is a great player
AlEx (Brooklyn, New York)
DT3's are you the next Shawn Marion.
Manny (Storrs, Conn.)
UConn hoops, representin'!!
THE PULSE (2:45 PM)
You're on, Manny!
AlEx (Brooklyn, New York)
All Star DT
Gena (Arkansas)
Diana is the best WBNA player of all time!
Dari Nowkhah (2:49 PM)
Ryan Newman is coming... what should I ask him... I'll take your questions. Let's go!
Dari Nowkhah (2:50 PM)
Before I ask him, what do you think of his relationship with Rusty Wallace?
Dustin (Augusta, GA)
Question for Ryan:Do you have any preference about who would be your new teammate at Penske South after Rusty Wallace's retirement?
james (la)
ryan: what is it like driving for 3 striaght hours in a car,,
Kenyel Jones (Clayton, North Carolina)
Ryan Newman when you first came in the league how was it racing against all the stars?
Seth (Tenafly, NJ)
Ask him about the war of words that is taking place.
Scott (Tipp City, Ohio)
Ryan: What do you have to do make race day more consistent with where you qualify?
Kenyel Jones (Clayton, North Carolina)
Ryan: we know that Rust is your ally do you have any enemies
Kerry (Kansas)
I think Ryan's relationship with Rusty is all smoke and mirrors. He wouldn't care if he had a teammate or not, because he doesn't like to share information.
Christine (Fresno)
I think Ryan is just biding his time until next year...
Jose (San Juan, PR)
I think they hate each others guts
THE PULSE (2:56 PM)
Ryan calls the relationship, ''rocky.''
Derrick Jackson (Casey Ill.)
You were the fastest in both practices, do you think you have the car to beat Roush Racing who has won 11 of the last 18 races at Mis.?
THE PULSE (2:57 PM)
You're on, Derrick!
Rodney (Dallas)
Ryan, you've said before that you've always liked this track at Michigan, you've even said it was easy for you to drive -- how come?
THE PULSE (2:57 PM)
You're on Rodney!
Kenyel Jones (Clayton, North Carolina)
I think Rusty needs to shut up and race
Christine (Fresno)
I think many of today's young drivers do not have respect for the older greats.
Dari Nowkhah (2:58 PM)
Aaah... you guys are awesome! Thanks for the input. That's what this show is about!
Tandi (Queens)
Who's next, Pulse?
THE PULSE (2:59 PM)
Still on the way is Andy Katz talking NBA Draft, EJ Hradek talking NHL and the Blue Jays Shea Hillenbrand.
Kenyel Jones (Clayton, North Carolina)
IS BASKETBALL NEXT BECAUSE THATS WHAT IM GOOD AT!!
THE PULSE (3:00 PM)
Yep, actually, we'll talk more NBA Finals right after this break.
Artie (paso robles, ca)
i love this show!
THE PULSE (3:01 PM)
Good deal, Artie! One hour left. Welcome to the home stretch!
Brian (Wickliffe, Ohio)
Is the Pulse only on Saturday?
THE PULSE (3:05 PM)
Yep, every Saturday.
AlEx (Brooklyn, New York)
David Amber is a genius so is Dari.Period.
Scott (Tipp City, Ohio)
How can you not love this, "IT DOES'NT GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS".
Seth (Tenafly, NJ)
I LOVE THE PULSE! I'm so sad because I'm leaving for sleep-away camp in a few days, so this will be the last time I can interact with or watch The Pulse for about 7 weeks. I'm going to miss you guys! :(
THE PULSE (3:06 PM)
We'll save your seat till you come back, Seth.
Christine (Fresno)
But you can chat while you "work" the rest of the week.
David Amber (3:07 PM)
Alex... You are a very astute person
THE PULSE (3:08 PM)
You got it, Christine. SportsNation is in this chat room Monda-Friday, 9-5 ET. It's called 'The Show' and it's all moderated by The Buzzmaster and The ShowGirl. Come in and talk to them someday, if you haven't already!
Carl (Lexington, MA)
ESPN should put the Pulse on more during the summer
Allan (Delmar DE..)
I love the pulse..i watch it every saturday..
Scott (Tipp City, Ohio)
You have a chance to get on TV and you don't even have to do anything wrong.
THE PULSE (3:09 PM)
That's one way to look at it, Scott.
David Amber (3:09 PM)
The Pulse should be on everyday... Especially since Dari gets paid by the word!!!
Joe (Chicago,IL)
where is David Amber??
David Amber (3:11 PM)
Joe... I'm right here... You have a question?
Hank (Montreal)
Do you and Dari hang out off the set??
David Amber (3:12 PM)
Hey Hank,I let Dari wash my car every other week!!
Dayne (East Dublin, GA)
David, Pistons or Spurs in a best of 3?
Allan (Delmar DE..)
w/o david the pulse wouldnt be the same..
Joe (Chicago,Ill)
hello David Amber
David Amber (3:13 PM)
Dayne,That's tough... But I'll pick the Spurs because neither of these teams has proven they can win on the road...
Shaheed Morris (Trenton )
Happy Fathers day David Amber!
Dayne (East Dublin, GA)
David, you should mess up Dari's telepromter!
Brian (Yorktown, NY)
Not so fast David. Miami is 26-3 in their last 29 home games and all three losses were to the Pistons.
David Amber (3:14 PM)
Good point... Ok the Pistons will win!!! haha
Kenyel Jones (Clayton, North Carolina)
Lets talk ball
Joe (Chicago,Ill)
the Spurs will win timorrow
Tony (Dublin, OH)
If anybody can win on the road, it'll be the Pistons. Detroit in 7.
Calvin W. Boaz (Clearwater, FL)
When will the Pulse have Jeremy Bonderman on the show? He is the best young starting pitcher in baseball.
David Amber (3:16 PM)
CalvinOur producer is from Michigan so probably we'll have bonderman... Maroth and Cecil Fielder next week!!!
Kenyel Jones (Clayton, North Carolina)
David Amber you dont no who will win....haha...its a toss up
Freddy (San Marcos, TX)
The Spurs can't play defense because if they breath on the Pistons, a foul is called!
David Amber (3:17 PM)
Kenyel,That's right... I have no clue
Shaheed Morris (Trenton, NJ )
David, who do you think will win the three games series between the Cubs/Yankees?
THE PULSE (3:17 PM)
You're on TV, Freddy!
Thomas
I'm tired of the NBA, what else can we write in about??
David Amber (3:18 PM)
Hey ShaheedI think the Cubs could make the playoffs this year... they need to get healthy... As far as this weekend the Yanks offence seems to be getting back on track
THE PULSE (3:18 PM)
Yes, actually, I need some NHL questions and comments, send 'em in to EJ Hradek. Also, we need some NBA Draft goodies for Andy Katz.
Brian (Wickliffe, Ohio)
David, do you think that the Cleveland Indains have a shot at the playoffs this year?
THE PULSE (3:21 PM)
brian, next year the Tribe may be the team to beat in the A-L.... this year too raw to compete with the Sox and twins
Dari Nowkhah (3:24 PM)
Hold up. I go do an interview for 8 minutes and get ripped by D.A. That's not fair... I'm defenseless!
THE PULSE (3:24 PM)
Hockey fans? Let's hear you.
Kerry (Kansas)
The best improvement to the NHL would be if it continued to stay in a lockout. This is one fan who hasn't shed a single tear, or even given a single second of thought to a lack of professional hockey in the sports world.
Kenyel Jones (Clayton, North Carolina)
i hate HOCKEY
Carl (Lexington, MA)
ESPN shouldn't show anything about the NHL until the NHL is actually back.
Dari Nowkhah (3:26 PM)
Ouch Kerry... hey, there's always the Wichita Thunder!
Christine (Fresno)
The NHL has slit it's own throat, they did not have the history of MLB to retain a bitter fan base.
Joe (Chicago,Ill)
Hockey is awesome
Scott (Tipp City, Ohio)
With no NHL and the NBA talking lockout I may have to watch network TV with my wife noooooooooooooooooo!
Dayne (East Dublin, GA)
EJ, give some advice to David Stern about how to avoid lockouts.
Cubsfan (Salt lake City)
Flyers win it all next year! if they have one!
Allan (Delmar DE..)
i only like the fights..
Shaheed Morris (Trenton, NJ )
C'Mon guys, I miss talking NHL puck!!
Christine (Fresno)
I go to the Pacific caost hockey games (local minors) they are actually quite entertaining, Slapshotesque.
Allan (Delmar DE..)
The NHL needs a new commissioner besides Gary Bettman
Jake (Costa Rica)
I like the Hitting and the Fighting in hockey, but if they actually let the players show there skills, i think more people would like it.
Joe (Chicago,Ill)
yea Gary Bettman stinks
Joe (Chicago,Ill)
wheres Dari Nowkhah
Brian (Wickliffe, Ohio)
I've never watched or went to a hockey game...
Scott (Tipp City, Ohio)
I have to admit I didn't miss the regular season but I do miss the playoffs.
Brian (Yorktown, NY)
E.J., will Peter Forsberg be back in the NHL once it resumes? He has had retirement rumors swirling around him for years.
Dari Nowkhah (3:31 PM)
Joe, right here. What's up? You enjoying the show? D.A. loves hockey! He's Canadian, it's a prerequesite.
THE PULSE (3:31 PM)
You're on Brian!
Calvin W. Boaz (Clearwater, FL)
NHL teams being sold is a bad thing, not a good thing. It shows that owners want to get out before the whole things folds or goes thru hardship.
Juan (Laredo Tx)
I like going to central hockey league games and they are cool but the NHL needs to do something to make more fans to watch it
Zach (Las Vegas)
What happens to the draft picks from a year ago, if the season starts in October?
THE PULSE (3:32 PM)
EJ says a weighted lottery may be in the future.
Allan (Delmar De)
the closest i got to a hockey game was feild hockey
Ronak (NY)
Hockey needs to go. Nobody likes it anymore.
Dari Nowkhah (3:32 PM)
Juan, I've had my share of the CHL... Tulsa Oiler-style. It's not close to the NHL, but at least it's hockey.
TJ (Hartford)
Betteman needs to go.
Christine (Fresno)
The only pro sport with a decent comissioner is the NFL
Kenyel Jones (Clayton, North Carolina)
I dont care about hockey i lost its respect when it had its lockout
Carl (Lexington, MA)
Ok lets get to the NBA draft no one cares about hockey
Dari Nowkhah (3:33 PM)
OK, you're wish is our command. Next up will be Andy Katz talking NBA draft. Send in your questions to Andy now!
Kenyel Jones (Clayton, North Carolina)
I think the 1st pick will be Andrew Bogut
Albert (San Antonio)
If the Bucks don't draft Bogut then they are complete idiots.
Scott (Tipp City, Ohio)
Andrew Bogut will no doubt be Milwaukee's #1 pick unless they entertain trade offers.
Todd (Salt lake City)
Is Bogut the player everyone thinks he is? If he wasnt so "soft" Id think he'd be dominating
Carl (Lexington, MA)
Ask Andy Katz if Bogut will be able to produce numbers or will he be the next Darko Milicic?
Kyle (Stanton, MI)
Bogut may be the best pick for a team that would like to win in the immedaite future, but Marvin Williams will be a stud in a couple of years.
Carl (Lexington, MA)
I think the bucks should trade the pick
Christine (Fresno)
I don't think Bogut is the best player in the draft, just the flavor of the year.
Joe (Chicago,Ill)
Andy Katz you there?
THE PULSE (3:40 PM)
He's here!
Albert (San Antonio)
Darko and Bogut dont even compare... Bogut would tear him apart. If anyone watched the olympics and the ncaa tounament then they would understand why Bogut is the #1 rated player in the country.
Scott (Tipp City, Ohio)
Why is everyone down on Darko if the Pistons win he will have 2 rings, bet Lebron would trade 25 points for 2 rings.
Katie (Portland)
The Pistons don't owe their ring to Darko!
David Amber (3:42 PM)
College hoop fans... What's the strongest conference?I say Big East... and it's about toi get better
Dayne (East Dublin, GA)
ACC
Artie (paso robles, ca)
the acc is the best!
Albert (San Antonio)
either way no one in the big east can beat duke
Kenyel Jones (Clayton, North Carolina)
Bogut will be just like Darko (ON THE BENCH)
Albert (San Antonio)
Big East then the ACC.
Allan (Delmar DE..)
i say the ACC b/c the teams w/ just get better each year
Joe (Chicago,Ill)
Big East
Kyle (Stanton, MI)
I like the ACC. Hard to pick against that conference.
Dayne (East Dublin, GA)
Pac 10= over rated
Joe (Chicago,Ill)
ACC
Carl (Lexington, MA)
I think the ACC, BC just joined the ACC and is not even close to the top of the ACC. However, they were on top of the Big East
David Amber (3:45 PM)
remeber... UNC is losing all its studs... Wake if losing Chris Paul....the Big east is still stacked
Kenyel Jones (Clayton, North Carolina)
The strongest is ACC hands down
Kenyel Jones (Clayton, North Carolina)
i am a Wake Forest fan but Duke will be the best in the acc because all of there players are staying
Christine (Fresno)
How can Bogut be ahead of Williams, Marvin has him beat on athleticism alone.
Shaheed Morris (Trenton, NJ )
I belive Syracuse is going to have another super season? How about you David?
David Amber (3:45 PM)
Of course... the Cuse is in the HOUSE!!!!
Scott (Tipp City, Ohio)
Top to bottom you have to say ACC, but the Big East will be stronger when Cincy and UofL join.
Todd (Salt lake City)
ACC hands down - the national champs reside there
Albert (San Antonio)
wake forest isnt better than last year, georgia tech isnt going to be better, nc st wont be better, unc for sure wont be better. Ur statement is false
Dayne (East Dublin, GA)
SEC = not living up to potential
Jake (Costa Rica)
Big East was up there last yr, and now there even better, DEFINITELY Big East
David Amber (3:46 PM)
Todd,In the last 6 yers there have been champs from the Big east than the ACC
Joe (Chicago,Ill)
hey David do you think Duke can far in the NCAA Tounament?
David Amber (3:46 PM)
Duke has this kid Josh McRoberts he's the real deal and with reddick that's a good nucleus... They will be very good
Kenyel Jones (Clayton, North Carolina)
i think duke will win it all
Dayne (East Dublin, GA)
But David, the ACC always stacks up after a draft, Duke recovered from losing williams and dunleavy, wake from Duncan ect.
rich bowmanstown pa
big ten is better in my opinion
Kyle (Stanton, MI)
Redick is the most overrated player in the country. He'll choke in the tournament again this season.
Seth (Tenafly, NJ)
I agree with you 100%, D.A. The Big East was strong last year, and now with the entry of teams like Louisville, it will only get sronger.
Christine (Fresno)
Again, trying to fight through the east coast bias, watch out for Sanford next year...
Carl (Lexington, MA)
Big east is losing Charlie Villanueva, Ryan Gomes, and Hakim Warrick.
3FF (Arlington, VA)
McRoberts betrayed Indiana...
Kenyel Jones (Clayton, North Carolina)
i agree David Amber
Christine (Fresno)
Hernadez staying loyal to the Cardinal.
Kenyel Jones (Clayton, North Carolina)
Wake Forest Chris Paul is leaving
Albert (San Antonio)
stanford? I cant even tell u their best player is.
3FF (Arlington, VA)
Big Ten continually gets overlooked yet they always win...I'll go with the Big Ten year in and year out for championship basketball
Kenyel Jones (Clayton, North Carolina)
All the great basketball player come from the ACC Micheal Jordan tim duncan, and to many to name
Dayne (East Dublin, GA)
Pulse, can we send questions to Shea?
THE PULSE (3:51 PM)
Yes, sir. Hit me with Shea questions and comments now!
Dari Nowkhah (3:52 PM)
What's up, eh? We're off to Toronto for Shea Hillenbrand... tell me guys, are the Jays contenders or pretenders?
David Amber (3:52 PM)
Guys, I've had fun... last interview... see you next week D
Kenyel Jones (Clayton, North Carolina)
David and the pulse and everybody out there im leaving this has been fun see ya!!
Dayne (East Dublin, GA)
Hey lets talk MLB for the last 10 min.
Todd (Salt lake City)
shea stadium?
Calvin W. Boaz (Clearwater, FL)
I like Shea Hillebrand, but he is not the Jays 3b. He is their DH who is playing 3b because Corey Koskie is hurt.
Dari Nowkhah (3:53 PM)
Kenyel, thanks for watching... have a good week.
Carl (Lexington, MA)
Shea Hillenbrand was terrible in Boston. Who would ever think trading him for Kim would end up being a great trade. It allowed Bill Mueller in to get into the starting lineup and eventually got The Sox to win the world series!
Christine (Fresno)
I would like to know if Shea is taking pleasure in the mediocrity of the millionaire yanks.
Ian (South Boston)
We miss you in Beantown, Shea!
Dari Nowkhah (3:54 PM)
Sup Joe
Joe (Chicago,Ill)
sup Dari
THE PULSE (3:55 PM)
Who will win the AL East??
Tony (Dublin, OH)
Yankees.
Joe (Chicago,Ill)
Yankees
Kenyel Jones (Clayton, North Carolina)
Orioles.......g2g
Carl (Lexington, MA)
BOSTON
Dayne (East Dublin, GA)
Bo Sox
Dari Nowkhah (3:55 PM)
Guys and Gals... We've got to get off this set so the next crew can jump on... It's been fun, I'm already looking forward to next Saturday. Have a great week and Happy Father's Day, all you Daddies.
Todd (Salt lake City)
Still have to say the yanks... Oreo's have lost pitching with Bedard.
Seth (Tenafly, NJ)
Orioles, followed closely by the Red Sox.
Ronak (NY)
Boston
THE PULSE (3:56 PM)
Wow, a New Yorker picking Boston.
Rick (Enfield CT )
For Shea Hillebrand...You are the subject of some trade rumors and one has you coming to Boston.
THE PULSE (3:58 PM)
Shea took your question on air, Rick!
Carl (Lexington, MA)
He is a new yorker in his right mind
THE PULSE (3:58 PM)
And that does it for the week!
Dustin (Augusta, GA)
The Pulse is good stuff, I'll be back next Saturday!
Scott (Tipp City, Ohio)
Once again the Pulse rules see you all next week!
Seth (Tenafly, NJ)
Bye, Dari!
Seth (Tenafly, NJ)
Bye, David also!
Joe (Chicago,Ill)
i'll be back next Saturday
THE PULSE (4:34 PM)
