No matter when or what you send us, be sure to include your name and your hometown!
YOU are SportsNation, we're checking YOUR PULSE. Sound off using the form below!
THE PULSE (10:23 AM)
Hey everybody, it's Friday morning, but we're going to give you a little taste of what's to come in Saturday's PULSE on ESPNEWS from 1-4 ET.
TIM (BEAUFORT, SC)
I LOVE ESPNEWS
THE PULSE (10:25 AM)
Good Tim. Glad to hear it. And if you're here on SportsNation, you're a perfect fit for THE PULSE. It's the new weekly INTERACTIVE show on ESPNEWS.
Paul (Harrisburg, PA)
The comments for that show come from this chat?
THE PULSE (10:28 AM)
Yes. We have a chat going right here while The PULSE is on air. Questions and comments for our guests come from this chat. So, since you all are pros from chatting with Buzz and ShowGirl all week, I'm here to tell you that we need you on Saturdays.
Steve (Ithaca)
So who's on the docket this week, oh mighty Pulse moderator?
THE PULSE (10:30 AM)
I'm so glad you asked, Steve. We've got a big NBA Draft Preview this Saturday. So, we really need your questions for Andy Katz and Chad Ford. Send those guys your questions. And we need all your comments about Bogut and Marvin and Chris Paul and the likes, too, because that what THE PULSE uses for the pop-up video-like things.
Dennis (NY)
Can we send Andy and Chad questions today? I got a hot date tomorrow!
THE PULSE (10:32 AM)
Sure thing, Dennis, you cassanova. Send 'em in now. Just make sure you throw Andy or Chad's name on there to start off your comment so we know who it's for.
Brian (Fairfax, VA)
I want to ask Chad Ford why he doesn't mock the second round. Being a fan of a team that never has first rounders (ahem Washington) I'd like some insight on who they are thinking about taking.
THE PULSE (10:36 AM)
Fair question. But remember, this ain't no NFL Draft. With international players in the mix, the NBA Draft is a whole different animal. You know?
Roger (Talahassee)
I don't pay attention to the NBA Draft. Who cares. Teams get players. Darko was taken above Carmelo ... and Dwayne Wade. What does that tell you. Who else is going to be on The PULSE Saturday?
THE PULSE (10:39 AM)
Alright, if you're not into the Draft, we've got options. Let's see, you're from Florida ... so you must be a hockey fan, right??!
Keith (Toronto)
I miss hockey ... but I'm probably the only one in this chat room who would say it.
THE PULSE (10:41 AM)
Alright, we'll, for you Keith, we've got Sidney Crosby -- the Canadian Junior Hockey Player of the year. Even if you're not into hockey, this kid is a really neat story.
Jack (Brentwood)
Yeah, I don't really follow the NHL, but I've heard of that kid. He's the top rated prospect for the next NHL Entry Draft. What's he going to do now that the ice is melting on pro hockey?
THE PULSE (10:44 AM)
Well, Jack, that's exactly the kind of question we will want to as Sidney tomorrow.
Jennifer (NY)
I miss the Rangers losing all the time
Ryan (Philly)
I miss hockey too, the off season of football has been sooooo boring
Chris (Youngstown)
When is ESPN going to air Hockey again?
THE PULSE (10:46 AM)
Good question, but I bet the fate of Sidney Crosby will have a lot to do with what games we air, when we do air hockey again. This kid is a goal scoring MACHINE!
Owen (Tuscon)
I don't really like the NBA Draft ... or hockey.
THE PULSE (10:48 AM)
You're tough to please, Owen. But I'm sure we've got something in our bag for you. How about boxing? You interested in the big Gatti-Mayweather fight Saturday night?
Tina (Carlsbad, Calif)
Gatti is CRAZY for even stepping into the ring with Floyd!
THE PULSE (10:50 AM)
Tina, you're up early over there on the West Coast ... AND, it sounds like you're a bit of a boxing enthusiast. For you -- and anybody else tuning in to Gatti-Mayweather tomorrow night, we've got Ricky Hatton coming on to preview the bout. You can send him your questions and comments now.
Jonathan (Buffalo)
What time is Mr Crosby going to be on the pulse tommorrow?
THE PULSE (10:51 AM)
I think he'll be one of our first guests. Right around 1 ET.
danny (new haven)
so, is like, THE PULSE, your real name, or what?
THE PULSE (10:57 AM)
Nah, we just like to keep it mysterious. Buzzmaster and ShowGirl told me the the golden rule is never let them know your real name.
Shannon (Williamstown, VT.)
Who you talking to in order to preview the race at Sonoma on Sunday?
THE PULSE (11:00 AM)
That's NASCAR Nextel Cup's Dodge/Save Mart 350 at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, to you. :) We'll be talking to Kurt Busch.
THE PULSE (11:02 AM)
NASCAR fans, you can send in your questions and comments about Sunday's race at Sonoma right here, right now.
THE PULSE (11:25 AM)
And of course, we need NBA Draft questions and comments for Chad Ford and Andy Katz ... and we need some hockey questions and comments for phenom Sidney Crosby.
Doug (Aspen)
Got any football on The Pulse?
THE PULSE (12:25 PM)
For you, Doug, we've got Chris Low of the Knoxville Tennessean who is an expert on SEC football. Send in your college gridiron questions to Chris!
THE PULSE (1:17 PM)
Alright folks, so, in short, we need questions for SEC Football expert Chris Low, Boxer Ricky Hatton, NBA Draft Experts Chad Ford and Andy Katz, and hockey phenom Sidney Crosby! Send 'em in now!
THE PULSE (6:36 PM)
OK SportsNation, have a great Friday night. Party like rockstars! We'll see you back here on Saturday for THE PULSE!
THE PULSE (11:07 AM)
... It's Saturday, welcome to The Pulse online! The TV show will kick off on ESPNews at 1 ET and we'll be chatting right here, right along side of it all. Our hosts David Amber and Dari Nowkhah will be in here chatting with you between segments, so stick with us this afternoon for THE PULSE!
David: (Chestertown, NY)
I'm glad to see that hockey and Sidney Crosby will be on the Pulse today. Sidney is the NHL's Lebron James. If he isn't able to save hockey, no one will.
THE PULSE (11:16 AM)
We're psyched to have Sidney joining us today, too. And, we're excited to launch a new way to vote in all the polls you see featured on THE PULSE. Paste this link in your browser to click through all the polls we'll be highlighting today!
Dari Nowkhah (11:39 AM)
Good morning Sports Fans! We've got a big show for you today... lots of good guests... Sidney Crosby, Kurt Busch, AJ Pierzynski, Andy Katz... and many, many more. Get your questions in for these guys... get your thoughts in... and just chat with us. David Amber says "What's up" and he'll be in here in a bit. Let's have some fun today. Thanks for being with us.
THE PULSE (12:22 PM)
Hey everybody, I know we're still about 40 minutes away from showtime, but as we start get organized and swimming through the mailbag, we notice we need some questions for AJ Pierzynski -- any baseball fans in here yet? White Sox Nation, let me hear you! Send AJ a question, now!
Currie (Boston)
What up PULSE. This is my first Saturday with you guys!!
THE PULSE (1:04 PM)
Glad to have you Currie. Your hear just in time. It's 1 o'clock here in Bristol, Conn. The Pulse is on the air (ESPNEWS) tune in, log on -- let's chat!
alan (pittsburgh)
hey, love the show!
THE PULSE (1:06 PM)
Glad to hear it, Alan! We're a few weeks into this now, seasoned vets at this whole interactive TV thing. You got the hang of it?
Thomas (Orlando)
It took, me a week or two to figure this TV/internet thing out, but now i got it. and i think it's a really cool idea. plus, i bet it will only keep getting better as the population of SportsNation continues to grow.
Bryan (Marion Ohio)
The Pulse is my favorite show on the tube!
stephen (Brooklyn,NY)
yeah.. same here!!
Bill (Boston)
same
THE PULSE (1:10 PM)
Ahh, c'mon. Stop kissin' our bum and send in your questions for hockey phenom Sidney Crosby and your comments on hockey!
Dari Nowkhah (1:10 PM)
Aaah... you guys rule. Thanks for hangin.'
John the Goalie (NYC)
Hockey is dead......
Steven (Corpus Christi, TX)
Is Hockey even going to be back next season?
John (Honolulu)
Will Hockey ever recover?
Terry: (York PA)
When hockey returns do you think it will be as big as before or do you think it will wont be very popular?
stephen (Brooklyn,NY)
to tell ya the truth.. i don't really miss hockey.
Tom (Milwaukee)
I agree, Hockey is DEAD in the Water, I mean ICE.
brandon (flower mound)
i hope not
THE PULSE (1:14 PM)
Sounds like everybody has the same concerns about the life of the puck.
Matt (Danville, KY)
I definitely miss it...always exciting to watch.
K-Dizzle (Wash DC)
When hockey comes back- they need to drastically change the format of the season... do something revolutionary in order to grab fans back. no ones interested in its current format
Terry: (York PA)
I play hockey, and it is really sad that they can't get a deal done. Also there rumors of rule changes to make it better, and they sound stupid.
Bill (Wells)
hockey is dead... go to canada
henry (detroit)
how can you mot miss hockey
Bryan (Marion Ohio)
Hockey will recover and be stronger than ever
henry (detroit)
yes it will
THE PULSE (1:16 PM)
Bold prediction, gentlemen.
Tim (Cedar Falls)
Well, it was never really was that popular
Cole (Calgary)
Sidney, what would be your response to people who say you aren't physical enough to make it in the NHL (and please, no Gretzky comparisons or cliches)?
THE PULSE (1:18 PM)
You're on TV, Cole!
stephen (Brooklyn,NY)
i think a deal will be reached.. the players are not THAT stupid.
Jeff (Norwalk, CT)
If you really want to see hockey, just turn on the next boxing match.
John the Sniper (Sydney, AU)
I left for exchange last year at what should have been the start of an NHL season, and I return just in time to catch the start of what should be the new NHL season (knock on wood), it's like they never left!!!
Paul (Queens,NY)
most definetly, hockey will be back!
Dave (Chicago)
It's dead to me
Tyler (Wisconsin)
I'm personally glad that NHL is on hold out i think it is the most boring sport. That and soccer
David Amber (1:20 PM)
Hey Guys,Sidney Crosby was pretty laid back... But A-J Pierzynski will be a blast... Does anyone beleive the White Sox are the best team in baseball?
Patrick YorkPA
I think hockey will come back soon
Bill (Wells)
the NHL needs a teen star and sidney crosby is the guy to be like lebron in basketball
Chris (Long Beach)
How About Sydney Crosby and Alexander Ovechkin rookies in the same year?? That would make for good Hockey!!
Joe (Long Island, New York)
I think like most sports, you need a major star to get interest back in sports. Maybe with Sidney, his playing could bring back some fans.
Kevin (Springfield, MA)
Thanks for having Crosby on! (Only one question from the fans?)
Chris (Cleveland OH)
Umm, I'm sorry my computer is broken. I think someone just compared Sidney Crosby to Lebron James. That's like comparing a famous movie star to the world's best dry cleaner. Crosby is good at what he does, but his level of stardom, excitement, and impact isn't even in King James' universe.
David Amber (1:22 PM)
hey Kevin... He had to run... SOrry... we'll get him again once the lockout is over
Frank (Edmonton)
Guys, Sidney Crosby will put hockey on the map. Within 3 years, all you hockey haters will have Crosby 87 jerseys, and buying season tickets.
Kris (Tampa)
With another arm in the pen or a true closer and one more bat (or Big Frank doing what Big Frank Does) they'll win the series vs St. Louie....and yes they are the best
Joe (Long Island, New York)
I think they are among the best team. They are having a great season. They have pitching and hitting but so do other teams like St. Louis.
Mike (Toronto)
How come everytime I post something it doesn't go up?
David Amber (1:23 PM)
Mike... we haven't forgotten about youLove for the T.O
Steve (Dallas)
Hockey will be back soon. As soon as Bettman resigns as the head man!
Cody (Waukon)
The White Sox are the best no matter what other people say
Bill (Wells)
Red Sox's are on fire, baby!
Terry: (York PA)
I think the White sox are 2nd best to the Cardinals. THen the red sox... then.... i guess baltimore.
Ry (Cleveland)
The White Sox certainly have everything together. Doubters are being converted to believers. Their Line-up is stacked. The pitching staff is clicking. The Yankees will beat them in the ALCS though.
Mark (San Diego)
how do you send an email question for A.J. Pierzinsky?
THE PULSE (1:25 PM)
You're in the right spot, Mark, AJ is on now. Send it in right here!
Mark (San Diego)
What do you say about the White Sox not getting the respect they deserve. For instance, on a talk radio program, they made an "All Chicago" baseball team. It only had 3 Sox position players. The rest were Cubs. What are these people thinking??
Matt (Danville, KY)
How do people really think the Cardinals are the best? Look at our record, and how much they are losing lately.
Ray (Durango, CO)
A.J, what do you say to the nay sayers that dont belive in the White Sox total domination in the AL Central division?
Drew (Calgary, AB)
The Sox have the record they do because of their record in one-run games, and that shows a lot of heart and determination on their end. That can go a long way in sports. If they keep it up, they'll get into the playoffs, and maybe even do a lot of damage.
Kris (Tampa)
Tell AJ the Cubs fans will turn into Sox fans....lol
Bill (Wang)
World Series...,. Sox vs Sox
stephen (Brooklyn,NY)
i bet the Yankees wish had contreras now..
Mike (Toronto)
Who's going to be on the pluse next week?
David Amber (1:27 PM)
Mike... easy big boy... we still have 8 more guests today
Matt (Pittsburgh)
Chicago is still dminated by Cubs fans.
Tim (Cedar Falls)
AJDo you expect the Twins to make a run at you guys in the AL Central? They have one the last couple division titles.
Chris (Schaumburg, IL)
How about a predicion AJ, how many games will we win the AL Central by this year?
Ray (Durango, CO)
White Sox?? how did this happen?
Steve (Dallas)
The Cubs will go without a World Series for 120 years!
Henry (detroit)
the tigers will win the central this year
Steve (Dallas)
David Amber who are you?
THE PULSE (1:28 PM)
Now, I know you expect big things from Magglio ... but....
Bill (Wells)
Tigers arent gonna make it
Tom (Milwaukee)
I'm taking bets, I'll bet the CHISOX will have the worst second half in history.
Karthi (Chapel Hill, NC)
Question for AJ - What has the clubhouse been like, relative to your last couple teams, Minnesota and SF? And I hope you all can meet up and DESTROY the Yankees in the playoffs!!! GO SOX!!
THE PULSE (1:29 PM)
You're on TV, Karthi!
Matt (Danville, KY)
LOL@the Tigers
Bryan (Marion Ohio)
The entire White Sox pitching staff has been outstanding so far this year
Chris (Schaumburg, IL)
Anybody who thinks the Cardinals are better than the White Sox obviously hasn't watched a game this year. This Sox team is the best we have had in a real long time.
Kevin (Springfield, MA)
The Red Sox are back in first and don't even have Schilling back yet.
Alex (New York)
This is the White Sox year!
Ted (Phoenix)
watch out fot he tigers next year!
Lou (Des Moines, Iowa)
Why are the White Sox considered lucky and the Cardinals considered good? Half way through the season with the best record should be more than luck. Right?
THE PULSE (1:30 PM)
You're on TV, Lou!
Matt (Danville, KY)
You have to feel sorry for St. Louis though...2 years in a row they make the World Series...2 years in a row they lose to a Sox team, that people think weren't supposed to be there. Poor birdies...
Raul (Carney's Point, NJ)
this is the nationals year....haha
Mike (Toronto)
Tigers = 2006 Champs
Alex (New York)
Sox vs.Sox division series.
Adam (Milwaukee)
The Yanks won't even make the playoffs, the white sox will have to play the other sox to get to the world series
Joe (Long Island, New York)
so who's on the pulse next?
THE PULSE (1:34 PM)
OK, here's the deal. Next up we've got Chris Low talking SEC football. Then we've got Sam Hornish Jr. and Helio Castroneves, a little later we've got soccer star Julie Foudy, boxer Ricky Hatton, the H.S. Naismith Award winner Louis Williams and, of course, Andy Katz talking NBA draft.
Adam (Milwaukee, WI)
I want to talk about the draft, basketball season never ends especially when my milwaukee bucks have the first pick on tuesday
THE PULSE (1:37 PM)
We will, Adam, we will!
Ray (Durango, CO)
bring it on then
THE PULSE (1:38 PM)
Patience! First college football.
Kirk (NYC)
Who do you need questions and stuff for?
THE PULSE (1:40 PM)
Let's see. We could use some questions for auto racin' teammates Sam Hornish Jr. and Helio Castronves.
Alex (Park slope)
What is so good about college football?
Ray (Durango, CO)
i love college football, nothing better than the good ol' rivalries!
Joe (Long Island, New York)
I personally don't like the whole SEC system. 2 years ago USC was a champion team but didn't play in final game. I think they should fix the whole system of championship play.
THE PULSE (1:42 PM)
Are you down on the BCS system, Joe? Is that what you mean?
David Amber (1:42 PM)
We are talking college football...Who is the best team in the SEC?
Bill (Wells)
college football is great i just hate the BCS
Albert (San Antonio)
Horns all the way!
Calvin W. Boaz (Clearwater, FL)
Where's David?
David Amber (1:43 PM)
Hey Calvin...Right here talking college football... Whose the best team and best player in the SEC?
Matt (Danville, KY)
Auburn gets my vote
THE PULSE (1:43 PM)
The Horns aren't even in the SEC!
Jason (Lowell,IN)
lsu
Tim (Cedar Falls)
South Caroline will be great with Steve
Steve (Dallas)
Flordia!
Bill (Wells)
Florida is the best in the SEC
Henry (Detroit,MI)
the vols will win it
Steve (Dallas)
Auburn stinks.
brad (jacksonville FL)
Florida is going all the way
Calvin W. Boaz (Clearwater, FL)
Tennessee will be the best but why are only #10 in your poll. That is a joke.
kevin (baltimore)
SC
James (Fort Walton Beach, FL)
WAR EAGLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bill (Wells)
FLORIDA baby!!!
Matt (Pittsburgh)
I think it will be Georgia, LSU lost Nick Saban so I don't think they will contend
Matt (Danville, KY)
USC vs. Louisville...title game...you know this...as for SEC...well...it won't be Kentucky!!
Albert (San Antonio)
USC doesnt play anyone good in the pac-10. it is by far the worste conference in college football.
aaron (anchorage,AK)
USC is number 1 no questions asked
Bryan (Marion Ohio)
USC will make it a three peat this year
David Amber (1:48 PM)
Guys ... which conference is better the Big 12 of the SEC?
Gianni (Los Angeles)
Is there any team out there who can beat SC for the National Chamoionchip?? ( I dont thnk so)
Mike (Toronto)
Big Ten is the ONLY conference.
Rob (Phoenix)
Big 12 NO QUESTION!
josh (atlanta)
How far down will Georgia fall without David Greene, his WRs and all the talent they lost on defense?
Bryan (Marion Ohio)
Big 12 without question
THE PULSE (1:50 PM)
You're on TV, Josh!
Tim (Cedar Falls)
Big 12 always has a team in the title game it seems
James (Fort Walton Beach, FL)
sec
Jason (Lowell,IN)
about what time should i tune in to see sam and helio
David Amber (1:50 PM)
SAm and Helio will be joining us in a minute
Matt (Danville, KY)
SEC is gonna be weak.
Ray (Durango, CO)
BIG 12!!
Matt (Pittsburgh)
Last year I would have said teh SEC but this year I think it will be the Big 12
Henry (Detroit,MI)
mike your correct BIG TEN the only confernce that really MATTERS
Jason (Lowell,IN)
big 12
Jason (Puerto Rico)
Big 12, no question
Mase (Strong Island)
Urban Meyer is going to do great with all the talent he inherited at Florida
Mark (Vermillion, SD)
Is there anyone out there, like me, that believes that Spurrier will have his trouble at South Carolina?
James (Fort Walton Beach)
I think Spurrier is already having trouble at SC, 12 suspensions?
Dari Nowkhah (1:54 PM)
Hey guys... Big 12 is better... now let's talk racing! ha!
Matt (Danville, KY)
I have nothing on racing! You guys are on your own there...though I can tell you what Nascar stands for...but you wouldn't post that...lol
Carl (Lexington, MA)
racing isnt a sport
Billy (Chicago)
Quick turn left!
Dari Nowkhah (1:56 PM)
How many of you would want to take a turn at 220 miles an hour... or 367 Km/H for our canadian friends!
Calvin W. Boaz (Clearwater, FL)
Dari, did you vote Tennessee at #10, that ranking is tooooooooo low!
Mike (Toronto)
Racing is just as much of a sport as golf.
Dari Nowkhah (1:57 PM)
Calvin, No... I didn't do it. I'd have them around 12 or so. Our experts combined polls have them 10.
Jake (Gainesville, FL)
Racing is a skill, NOT a sport.
Steve (Burlington, Vermont)
Of course racing is a sport. what would you call it?
Henry (Detroit,MI)
it would be fun but i would probally vomit
Matt (Pittsburgh)
No it's not a sport, it takes skill, yes but it is not a sport.
Matt (Pittsburgh)
Indycar racing is getting bigger but do you think it is just because of Danica Patrick?
Bryan (Marion Ohio)
Danica will become a IRL legend
bill (jim thorpe, PA)
i rather not take a turn at 220mph... i rather stick to about 20mph
MIGUEL (San francisco de macoris, Dominican Republic)
I LIKE MORRE THE FORMULA ONE THAN INDICAR
Tom (Milwaukee)
Danica a IRL Legend?? Come on Bryan, that won't get you a date!
Steve (Burlington, Vermont)
Have you ever seen those guys after a race is over. They are physically and mentally drained. Most of them are shaking after they get out of the car.
Mike (Toronto)
Racing takes concentration, skill, and physical activity, how is that NOT a sport.
Jason (Lowell,IN)
helio- how has it been with sam since he joined penske and sam- how has it been since about 2 or 3 years ago?
THE PULSE (2:02 PM)
You're on Jason!
Jennifer Anne Mathis (Battle Creek, MI)
Helio Castroneves and Sam Hornish When your not racing Indy Car, do you watch and other racing series or other sports, If so who are your favorite drivers, teams and or players? God bless
THE PULSE (2:02 PM)
You're on TV, too, Jennifer!
Jason (Puerto Rico)
Don't get wrong, I have respect for what race drivers do...its just a little hard to watch up until the final 3o laps.....all the exitment is in the car...not in the stands.
Matt (Danville, KY)
the racer is only as good as the car...how is that a sport?
Mike (Toronto)
That stands are the best part, you get to sit on top of your camper drinking bee...soda pop.
Raul (Carney's Point, NJ)
same with horses
Henry (Detroit,MI)
yeah the first 10 lasps and the last ten are the only ones thtat you need to see
Jake (Gainesville, FL)
Sport is defined in my book by physical contact with the people you are competing against, therefore golf, gymnastics, strongman contests, and racing are not sports, but complex skill compititions.
THE PULSE (2:05 PM)
Alright, I'd like to let you guys argue about this all afternoon, but Andy Katz is here waiting for your NBA Draft questions!
THE PULSE (2:06 PM)
Julie Foudy is standing by and ready for your soccer questions, too.
Steve (Dallas)
David Stern on Tuesday: "With the first overall pick in the 2005 NBA Draft, the Milwaukee Bucks select Andrew Bogut from the University of Utah."
David Amber (2:08 PM)
Get questions in for Andy katz...We're talking NBA draft... next
Gary (Sacramento, CA)
Why would the Bucks draft Bogut if they already have a 7' Gadzurich? Would they move Bogut to the 4?
Lance (Milwaukee)
With me being a huge Bucks fan i find it hard to believe that they would pass on Bogut. Bogut is a sure thing. Unlike the human hype machine in Marvin Williams, who has the huge potential following. Bogut has proved that he can play with the pro's (Athens) unlike Williams, and whats with all this talk that Bogut isn't athletic? That's crap. PRO BOGUT....in Milwaukee
SHOUNE(DURHAM, NC)
MARVIN WILLIAMS IS BETTER THAN BOGUT BUT THEBUCKS WILL MORE LIKELY TAKE BOGUT BECAUSE OF HIS HEIGHT.ALSO, I READ THAT RAYMOND AND DERON WENT 1 ON 1 IN CHARLOTTE OR ATLANTA AND THEY WERE BOTH IMPRESSIVE BUT PEOPLE LIKE DERON BECAUSE HE IS A BIGGER GUARD BUT HE CAN'T CREATE HIS OWN SHOT; RAYMOND CAN.
Tyler (Columbus OH)
On the subject of the Bucks, Where is Redd going to end up next year?
Dari Nowkhah (2:13 PM)
Tyler, why do I get the feeling you're a Cavs fan hoping Cleveland throws max money at Redd? Am I right?
Jake (Gainesville, FL)
David Stern ten minutes later: with the second overall pick in the NBA draft, the Atlanta Hawks select Marvin Williams from the University of North Carolina.
Tyler (Columbus, OH)
Yes, Sir
Dari Nowkhah (2:15 PM)
Deron Williams or Chris Paul, who's better?
Tom (Milwaukee)
Hey Tyler, Redd wants to be the best player on his own team, if the Bucks pay him, don't expect him to go to Cleveland.
Jeremy (Tulsa, OK)
The Pistons need Darko to play next year. He'll be an All-Star in 2 years.
Ezekiel (Buena Park, Ca)
Cleveland does not need another shooter...They nees a SF or possible a Power forward...Bron needs at least 25 shots a game..Allen and Redd will just hurt his potential..
Gunther (Milwaukee)
Couldn't the Bucks do a sign and trade of Redd along with the first overall for LeBron and maybe a second rounder?
Dari Nowkhah (2:16 PM)
Oh yeah, forgot Detroit had him! Ha. Nice pick there by the Pistons. Maybe if Larry leaves, Darko will see the floor a little more. Jeremy, tell T-Town hi for me.
Alex (Chicago)
DERON WILLIAMS. Paul is all hype.
Jason (Puerto Rico)
Deron Williams.....Solid, strong, good height
Mike (Toronto)
Chris Paul, he's a true point guard.
Tommy (NYC)
Chris Paul is way better. He is twice as athletic and played with much less talent than Williams.
mike (nyc)
deron williams, chris paul is too small
Bryan (Atlanta)
Marvin Williams is by far the most athletic of the 4. He will be the next Garnnet.
Dari Nowkhah (2:19 PM)
You're on TV, Bryan!
Brian (Philadelphia,PA)
Deron Williams is better than Chris Paul on a slight advantage because Williams can shoot and do many things. Chris Paul tries to cheat too much.
andrew (chicago)
chris paul is the next T.J. Ford... small college point guard who will struggle in the NBA
Jason (Puerto Rico)
Ive always though selecting in the draft by need instead of picking the best player available is a mistake....you swing for the fences..always!
Dari Nowkhah (2:21 PM)
Is anybody concerned that Andrew Bogut's competition in the Mountain West may hold him back when he really faces NBA competition?
Tyler Goldstein (Cleveland)
Next Garnett!! Marvin Didnt even average double figures in Rebounding!
Derek (Auburn,CA)
Why would atlanta pick Marvin Williams when they already have Al Harrington?
Alex (Chicago)
why all the hype about Marvin Williams. I know Nortch Carolina was stacked but if Williams was really THAT good don't you think he would have started?
Paul (Grand Rapids,MI)
Marvin Williams wasnt even one of the top two players on North Carolina (Raymond Felton, Sean May) I would pick those two players and Chris Paul and Andrew Bogut ahead of Marvin!
Bill (Jim Thorpe, PA)
yes. Dari is right Bogut will have trouble in the NBA when he runs into real competition
Andrew (chicago)
Marvin didn't start because of all the guns the UNC had besides Roy didn't want to lose him. North Carolina is in trouble because people still saw him coming off the bench.
Mike (Toronto)
Marvin Williams = Mr. Hype
Derek (Auburn,CA)
I don't think a college bench player can be expected to be a star in the NBA
THE PULSE (2:26 PM)
Alright folks ... let's talk soccer with THE Julie Foudy!!!
David Amber (2:26 PM)
Was Chastane's taking her shirt off after the world cup goal...the original wardobe malfunction"
Chad (Winter Haven)
no she was tired and hot
Henry (Detroit,MI)
how was that a malfunction
Jake (Gainesville, FL)
Just when I thought Nike wasn't everywhere.
Kevin (East Hartford)
Julie Hatton is one of the best female soccer players.
Adam (Milwaukee, WI)
I wouldn't say malfunction it was a spur of the moment kind of thing which seemed to be a genuine reaction
Ismail (Virginia)
Julie Foudy is one of the classiests ATHLETES of all time.
Tom (Milwaukee)
Adam, no way was that Spur of the moment... That was planned?
Brian (New York)
do you think that mia has enough in her tank to play anthoer season
Ezekiel (Buena Park, Ca)
Its funny when a guy does it but when a lady does it becasue she is passionate its a problem..DOUBLE STANDARDS
Jordan (Chicago )
no
Henry (Oklahoma)
The world will miss Mia ... and Julie, for that matter! Great athletes, great role models.
artie (paso robles,Ca)
Whats next.
THE PULSE (2:35 PM)
Next up is Ricky Hatton on boxing and the preview of tonight's big bout, Gatti vs Mayweather. Then we've got some track, and then, still up is Louis Williams that Naismith High School Player of the Year.
Bryan (Marion Ohio)
Gatti will make Mayweather feel under the weather!
Justin (Jasper, GA)
Why is everyone thinking Gatti will lose? I don't seriously follow boxing but I've seen Gotti fight and I thought Floyd was a little "washed up"...
Ezekiel (Buena Park, Ca)
I love to see all these so called experts explain why Mayweather will win...Just goes to show you that they dont know a true talent if it knock them out..Gatti by decision.
Jake (Gainesville, FL)
Mayweather going to win because he is ,pound for pound, the best fighter in the world right now. I'll change my mind about that when and if he ever loses.
Zak (Boston)
I wonder if Gatti will be able to get Mayweather to go to war with him, because he can't outbox him!
Morgan (Midway, Texas)
What will win? Thunder or Lightning?
bobby (reading)
Gatti is the man he has to win
Tyler (Columbus,OH)
Gatti by KO next subject
Bill (Jim Thorpe, PA)
lightning everytime
Jason (Lowell,IN)
lightning
Jake (Gainesville, FL)
Thunder is just a sound.
Bill (Jim Thorpe, PA)
mayweather will knock gatti out in the second round
Jon (Milwaukee)
Mayweather no doubt is the best pound for pound fighter. I honestly dont think he will ever lose
Kevin (East Hartford)
Mayweather hands is to quick for gatti
Ezekiel (Buena Park, Ca)
Lightning comes fast but thunder packs a punch..
San Marcos, TX
Gatti is going to shock Mayweather tonight!!!
Freddy O (San Marcos, TX)
Gatti is all heart
Tyrone (Baghdad)
FLOYD IN 10
Matt (Denver)
Gatti looks like Chris Kattan
Calvin W. Boaz (Clearwater, FL)
Floyd in 10 minutes.
Ezekiel (Buena Park, Ca)
Well if he does look like Kattan then you get in the ring with him.
Jason (Buffalo)
The real question is, when Floyd beat Arturo tonight will Oscar De La Hoya give floyd the time of day if he comes down to 140 and Floyd moves up like he says he will.
Jake (Gainesville, FL`)
Floyd in 3, he'll get his 23rd KO. Next...
shawn (providence)
gatti vs ward was like apollo vs rocky...awesome fight!
Brian C. (Streator, Il)
floyde will take it in 8, gatti doesnt take himself as deep and wont be able to stand
Zak (Boston)
Floyd has never been in a war before. I don't think he could survive a real war with Gatti. Floyds chin has never fully been tested
Tex
Enough about this fight. Boxing is all hype!
THE PULSE (2:49 PM)
Well Tex, we've got a quick segment on the US Track and Field Championship coming up. Send in those questions now.
Jake (Gainesville, FL)
Will Tyson ever comback again?
Matt (Denver)
the best thing about boxing is the fighters tell it how it is, they don't speak in politically correct cliches
David Amber (2:50 PM)
Tyson will be back but it may be in the WWE or on the Surreal life
Jason (Buffalo)
so is the Super Bowl, the greatest hype machine ever!
Joe (Binghamton)
Track?? Why track?
Brian C. (Streator, Il)
haha, very true david he is washed up
THE PULSE (2:51 PM)
Marion Jones grabbed her warm-ups and walked off the track moments before the start of the 100-meter preliminaries Friday night ... that's pretty big news.
THE PULSE (2:52 PM)
A few hours before she did that, her boyfriend Tim Montgomery, withdrew from the men's 100.
Bill (Jim Thorpe, PA)
i could play track... though i'd be crawling to the finish line... i could play
Brian (Manchester)
I think Marion is slowing down
Morgan (Midway, Texas)
Why do you think Marion walked off the track?
Kevin (East Hartford)
Do you feel that the media is always trying to pull Marion Jones down down in some way shape or form? Are we looking for drama?
Dari Nowkhah (2:55 PM)
Yeah, Morgan, that's the question. It may be a question Marion would rather not have to answer... too bad for her.
Brian C. (Streator, Il)
i think we are, thats wat makes news they need something on her
Jake (Gainesville, FL)
The NCAA Arkansas track team the the most dominating team anywhere in anything.
Joe (Long Island, New York)
must a personal matter. But I bet that won't stop the media.
Dari Nowkhah (2:56 PM)
Jake - great point man... what a program they've got rolling in Fayetteville... WHOOOOO Pig Sooie!!
Scott (Detroit)
Marion will come back big when the media will stop being in the way of everything.
Jake (Gainesville, FL)
Jones is resilient.
Bill (Jim Thorpe, PA)
There should be a soap operah called "The Media hurt my feelings"
Jason (Lowell,IN)
dari is kurt gonna be on around 3:30
Dari Nowkhah (2:57 PM)
Jason - around 3:20. Get your questions in.
THE PULSE (3:03 PM)
So, what do you guys think -- Louis Williams, the best high school hoopster in the land was all set to go to Georgia, but he's decided to try his luck in the NBA draft this week. Good move?
Brian (Manchester)
Why do think that louis Willamis going to the NBA and not college ? ... because the impact that Lebron made.
THE PULSE (3:06 PM)
Maybe but I don't think anybody thinks Louis is going to light it up like LeBron.
Calvin W. Boaz (Clearwater, FL)
Not going to Georgia was a good move, but he should have played college basketball somewhere.
Jake (Gainesville, FL)
Yeach, because UGA is a bad baskeball program.
Junior (Modesto, CA)
good move georgia doesnt have agood basketball program hes better off in the NBA
Bill (Jim Thorpe, PA)
Bad move... i think Louis Williams should go try the college game first just in case he can't handle the NBA
brian council (Streator Il.)
williams needs to go to college to mature and make his value go even further and to prove that he is what they say
Chad (Winter Haven)
I think he's stupid no offense but he is undersized no point skills crappy and no one said he was in the first round
Kim (Storrs, Conn.)
If Louis is so good, why was he going to GEORGIA???
Bill (Jim Thorpe, PA)
i wonder what his GPA was in high school
Ezekiel (Buena Park, Ca)
He should go to a proven program where superstars are born.. UNC Baby..
David Amber (3:12 PM)
So who do you guys think is the best highschooler in the NBA right now...T-mac... Kobe... K-G... Amare?
brian council (Streator Il.)
louis williams wants to try to make a lebron type of impact but he will just be another kid who could of went to college and made his value rocket while he matured into a player who can succeed
Joel Clayton (Summerville,GA)
I dont think louis Williams is making the right move if you make a commitment to someone you should stick to it
Junior (Modesto, CA)
amare is the best highschooler in the nba right now
Joe (Long Island, New York)
K-G no doubt
artie (paso robles,Ca)
I think it amare!
brian council (Streator Il.)
williams can succeed in the NBA if he works out and bulks up, right now he is a bit undersized
Chad (Winter Haven)
Bron Bron man he is the next Jordan
David Amber (3:14 PM)
OOOPS... I forgot LeBron may be the best highschooler out there
Ezekiel J. (Katy.TX)
I think Kobe!!!!
Steve (Dallas)
LeBron was until he fell apart in Cleveland.
Whity (Huntington, IN)
No T-Mac is the best highschooler in the NBA right now
Ezekiel (Buena Park, Ca)
With No hesitation i am glad to say Kobe Bryant. Why...3 RINGS and he is still gettin gbetter.
Nick (Temecula)
Kobe because he has 3 rings!
Dari Nowkhah (3:15 PM)
Nick, how many rings would T-Mac have if he played with Shaq!?
Ezekiel (Buena Park, Ca)
Look K-G has reached his potential and so has Amare. Bron is no jordan and is a decent 24 -8 guy. Kobe on the other hand is a proven winner and will show it this year.
David Amber (3:16 PM)
6--2 it will tough for Williams to play the 2 guard... he is undersized... But if he can get his handle together he can be a pretty solid Point guard
Nick (Temecula, CA)
that's debateable lets see how many he gets with Yao, the Chinese superstar
Whity (Huntington, IN)
T-Mac would've had atleast 5 if he played with shaq
Ezekiel (Buena Park, Ca)
T-Mac is not a superstar. He does not have a winning attitude and can not dominate a game. Look at this year with Yao. He could not use that 7 something guy to his advantage.
Colby:Caribou/Maine
Education is the key, develop as a player then move on to big and better things.
Steve (Dallas)
Who's on next on the Pulse?
Dari Nowkhah (3:18 PM)
Steve, Kurt Busch is next... after Louis is gone, get those questions in for Kurt. Give me a good one and I'll use it!
David Amber (3:19 PM)
Kurt Busch coming up.... IS he better than Dale Jr.... or Jeff Gordon... NAscar fans its your time on the Pulse!!!
THE PULSE (3:20 PM)
Hey NASCAR FANS. Who I really want to hear from is you Jeff Gordon and Dale Jr. fans. The big dogs are out of the Top 10. How are you feeling about that??
THE PULSE (3:21 PM)
Any Gordon haters have anything to say about that??
Ezekiel J. (Katy.TX)
No he is not better then Jeff Gordon!
brian council (Streator Il.)
right now kurt busch is better than jr. and gordon he constantly performs far beyond his years
Ezekiel (Buena Park, Ca)
Jess Gordon all the way BABY!!!
curt (cable)
Yes hes better then Dale jr. not Gordon though. Jr. is the most overrated driver in NASCAR
Chad (Winter Haven)
Dale Jr is horrible look at this year and Jeff can still win it all but I think Jimmie Johnson is the best out there
Jason (Lowell,IN)
stewart is betta than him
Joe Mack (Evansville, IN)
Kurt Busch 1 championship, Jr. 0. I think Busch has the edge.
Ezekiel (Buena Park, Ca)
Jeff Gordon is simply the best driver in the field with Jimmy right behind him. Jeff just had some tough breaks.
brian council (Streator Il.)
im a dale jr. fan and i think that he will get focused and things will pull together coming up for him to make a run
Calvin W. Boaz (Clearwater, FL)
With these road courses giving such an advantage to a limited amount of drivers (Jeff Gordon, Robby Gordon, Boris Said, Tony Stewart, Mark Martin) should Nascar take these types of races off the schedule?
Steve (Dallas)
Little E is done.
Jason (Lowell,IN)
no way road courses should stay
THE PULSE (3:38 PM)
20 minutes left of this week's edition of THE PULSE. What's on your mind?? Talk to me.
James (Amityville)
IRL, and Danica.
Calvin W. Boaz (Clearwater, FL)
OK David, I will try one more time. Why would the Suns give up Q for just Kurt Thomas. It seems like a dumb trade for the Suns.
David Amber (3:40 PM)
Hey Calvin,Don't blame the deal on me... I'm just an anchor!! The suns are looking for some muscle up front... Thomas can rebound and create space for the shooters...
Calvin W. Boaz (Clearwater, FL)
I want to ask David Amber who comes up with choices in the poll questions. I am still bugged about the Angels not being considereda choice for the best team in baseball.
Nick (Temecula, CA)
it's an awesome trade, Q didn't do anything in the playoffs and they need someone like Kurt to take the inside defensive pressure off of Amare
THE PULSE (3:42 PM)
We just choice the choices based on records. Top two in the NL and top to in the AL.
Dari Nowkhah (3:42 PM)
One of our researchers, Parker, says Floyd looks like LL Cool J... anybody agree.
Morgan (Midway)
The Trade for Kurt by the suns is a brilliant move. The Suns need some muscle and the Knicks will be the knicks
Morgan (Midway)
the Angels arent compared to the cards, bosox, chisox, or the suprising nats
mike (columbia sc)
thye are nowhere near the top tier in baseball
Ezekiel Jordan (Katy, TX)
He does look like LL cool J.!!!
Chris (Omaha)
Mayweather by decision, unless Gatti nails him with the body shot he nailed Dorin with.
Ezekiel Jordan (Katy, TX)
Flyod is going to murder Gatti in 3 rounds maybe 2.
Ezekiel Jordan (Katy, TX)
He looks like LL but he doesnt fight like him.!!!
Morgan (Midway)
Floyd, what are you going to expose in Gatti tonight when you beat him?
nick (compton, ca)
mayweather will handle gatti in this quick 3 round knock out, sorry folks itll be a short one
Chris (Omaha)
I think Brian Kenny can take Pretty Boy.
Jason (Lowell,IN)
who is next
THE PULSE (3:49 PM)
Maria Sharapova.
Morgan (Midway)
Maria is the future of tennis. The Williams are starting to die down.
Calvin W. Boaz (Clearwater, FL)
Where is David? The Angels have the 2nd best record in the AL. They have a better record than Boston.
THE PULSE (3:52 PM)
Here's the news conference with the Wimbledon defending champ on the mic.
Dari Nowkhah (3:52 PM)
You guys get the ESPN the Magazine with her on the cover? Good article!
THE PULSE (3:52 PM)
OK...I don't disagree... I have nothing but love for the Angels... They are a great team and when you have Vladdy you always have a chance...
Joe Mack (Evansville, IN)
A WINNING Kornakova. Could be the next Navratilova.
Chad (Winter Haven )
Ok guys can Maria work her magic again
cody (Harrison Me)
Sharapova will win Wimbledon
David Amber (3:54 PM)
Guys,Thanks for watching and thanks for chatting...We look forward to more solid debtae throughout the summerhave a great weekend and keep wathcing the Pulse!!!
James (Amityville)
Sharapova, is the next Kornikova, only thing is, she can actually win!
colby:caribou,maine
Sharapova has game,a lot of game!
Dari Nowkhah (3:56 PM)
Hey everybody, thanks for a record-setting day on the chats. We're about to wrap things up... it's been fun. Everybody have a great week and we'll talk next Saturday. Thanks again!!
