The Pulse (5:04 PM)
Hey everybody, welcome to The PULSE! The TV show is on ESPNews, Saturday from 1-4 ET. Here is a little taste of what you can expect! ...
The Pulse (5:05 PM)
FRANK BEAMER (Va. Tech's football coach), ROD COLEMAN (Atlanta Falcons DT), TAMIKA CATCHINGS (WNBA All-Star), and CHRIS CARMICHAEL (Lance Armstrong's trainer) will all be guests on the show and will all be answering your email questions and comments.
The Pulse (5:08 PM)
We'll also be talking NASCAR, World Series of Poker, Colege Football, All-Star Game, LPGA and Video games !! Send in your questions and comments NOW, then join us for all the action RIGHT HERE on Saturday! See you then!
The Pulse (11:28 AM)
Hey everybody, it's Saturday! We're gearing up for THE PULSE. Steve Bunin and Dari Nowkhah will be your hosts. They will be kicking around this chat room, too, so send in your questions and comments!
Steve Bunin (11:40 AM)
Solid questions so far, Pulsites - we're already plugging a few of these into our interviews. Dari is ready to rock, and I am, too. We're putting the focus on you all today. Bring your A Game.
Chip (Alabama)
Who will replace Rusty Wallace?!
Steve Bunin (11:59 AM)
Chip- we're gonna ask our NASCAR expert YOUR question coming up on The Pulse. Set your TiVo, call your friends. You're gonna be on the show. Fellow Pulsites, keep the blog coming!
james anderson (salt lake city, utah)
Do you think that the bucks will be a championship contender with a helth t.j. Ford, Bogut, keeping Redd, and adding simmons?
Steve Bunin (12:40 PM)
James - what's a Bucks fan doing in Jazz country? I think it's quite a leap to label the Bucks a championship contender. But adding Bogut & Simmons, bringing back Redd, and assuming TJ Ford is healthy - I don't see any reason they SHOULDN'T be back in the playoffs. A real key will be Ford's development. If he mirrors what Luke Ridnour did in Seattle last season, the Bucks will rise. If Ford doesn't, they'll struggle to move into the East's upper tier.
Bryan (Marion Ohio)
Do you think the Cleveland Cavaliers were desperate to add a FA and thats why they gave Larry Hughes the money they did?
Steve Bunin (12:48 PM)
Bryan - "desperate" is a strong word, but yeah, they definitely had to add somebody with the cap room they had. Keep in mind, if Luke Jackson's back is better, he could be an instant-offense gunner for them. But don't think adding Hughes necessarily vaults the Cavs into the top tier in the East. A former NBA scout told me to watch out -- they both need the ball in their hands to be most effective. Might be a big learning curve on Lake Erie.
Steve Bunin (12:49 PM)
And by they - I didn't mean Luke & Larry. I meant LeBron and Larry. You knew that, but I'm just covering my bases.
Ron Friedman (Baltimore, MD)
Larry Hughes will be great for the Cleveland Cavaliers. He's a guy that made great contributions on both sides of the ball.
Patrick Ford, Westport, MA
i just wanted to say that I think its great that you give us fans a chance to ask these burning questions that are lingering around the world of sports today!!!!!
Chris (Buffalo, NY)
Will Pat Riley ever coach again?
Steve Bunin (12:51 PM)
Chris - not that I'm aware of. There have been rumors, but really, is Riles willing to log all the hours again, demanding 19-22 year old kids to play harder, every possession, every night? Doesn't seem likely.
Charles Reed Winchester TN
Why is the Heisman trophy awarded to the most popular player and not the best football player?
Steve Bunin (12:53 PM)
Charles - 1st, you're surprised? IT's voted on by the MEDIA! :) But really, how many times did it just go to someone whose popularity far outshined his #'s? Other than a certain former Volunteer-turned-Colt, who I assume you're referring to?
The PULSE (1:01 PM)
It's 1 o'clock here in Bris-tall!! Here we go!
Erik (San Dimas, CA)
This is going to be another exciting Pulse
tony , ma
What were the celtics thinking signing scalabrine worth 15 million?
The PULSE (1:04 PM)
You know it, Erik!
Bryan (Marion Ohio)
Ive been waiting for this all week!
The PULSE (1:05 PM)
Wow, Bryan! That's high praise, we appreciate it. Here we go!
Matt (Pittsburgh)
hi
The PULSE (1:05 PM)
What up, Matt. Glad to see The Burgh in the house!
Steve Bunin (1:06 PM)
Tony - what's weird is how $3-M for a reserve of Scalabrine's caliber isn't that out of whack in the NBA. Think of all the guys making $6M, $7M/year (Okur, etc..) who provide even less than B.Scal does. It's not such a bad deal, other than it goes five years.
Dari Nowkhah (1:06 PM)
Sports Fans... Good Afternoon... and good morning! Hello to you all! We're a few minutes into another edition of THE PULSE!! It's NASCAR talk next, whatddya have!!??
Steve Bunin (1:06 PM)
NASCAR's up first, Pulsites -- email us your q's now!
Steve Bunin (1:06 PM)
NASCAR fans - who's your driver of the year so far ? Biffle or J-J? Who's gonna win the Chase for the Cup?
mike (batavia, ny)
What an arrogant statement by Wells
Steve Bunin (1:08 PM)
What do you all think of Well's comments? Mike - thanks for your email.
Erik (San Dimas, CA)
Biffle or JJ will win the campionship
Johnstone (Bucktown)
Biffle... That guy is really consistent
Matt (Pittsburgh)
jimmy johnson definitely
Dari Nowkhah (1:08 PM)
Will Junior make the Chase? will Gordon? Will you watch if neither is there?
Jake (Costa Rica)
Whats up with Junior this yr?
Michael (Ellicott City)
Johnson is the racer of the year so far. Gordon and Dale Jr are the busts.
Ralph (Nashville)
Dear racing guy -- do you think it's good for the sport or bad for the sport if Dale Jr. and Jeff DO NOT make the Chase? Parity is a good thing, right?
Timothy (hickory, nc)
I think Tony Stewart will be just fine and he will finish good in the race tomorrow
The PULSE (1:09 PM)
You're on TV, Ralph!
Rocky (New Waterford, Ohio)
The best thing for Nascar would be Gordon and Junior not making the Chase for the Cup because it will help create new household names within Nascar.
Dari Nowkhah (1:10 PM)
Michael, you call JJ the racer of the year... moreso than Biffle with 5 wins? I know JJ is in first... but Biffle's 5 wins are pretty impressive.
Bryan (Marion Ohio)
Dari It does not matter to me, Tony Stewart is my guy and he will make it!
Brad (Gadsden,Alabama)
dale jr all the way
Misael (Puerto Rico)
Gordon makes the chase Junior does not.
Misael (Puerto Rico)
Jeff Gordon will not make it
James (Amityville, NY)
I think that Jeff Gordon will pull it together and win some races, he will get into the final cup series.
Erik (San Dimas, CA)
Dale Jr. needs help
Michael (Ellicott City)
It IS impressive, but when all is said and done, all the matters is how they finish in the Chase. And JJ is right where he wants to be right now; Biffle isn't.
Johnstone (Bucktown, Chicago)
NASCAR has absolutely blown up in the last few years, what do you credit as the biggest catalyst for the sport?
adam (london, ontario)
I have a feeling that gordon will win the next race
Misael (Puerto Rico)
Gordon WILL make it
Ron (Calhoun)
Well, who thinks should be Rookie of the Year? Carl Edwards or Kyle Busch?
Keith (Atlanta)
Jim Utter -- who would get your vote for ESPY racecar driver of the year? (Greg Anderson, Kurt Busch, Michael Schumacher or Dan Wheldon)??
The PULSE (1:12 PM)
You're on TV, Keith!
Dari Nowkhah (1:12 PM)
Ron, it's got to be Edwards... 2 Nextel Cup wins! But Kyle Busch is impressive too. Edwards just may win the whole thing, though.
Johnstone (Bucktown, Chicago)
If Jeff Gordon ever comes back to Wrigley, please its Wrigley field not Wrigley stadium.....
Will (Woodstock, GA)
\ Why is NASCAR so appealing? It's not fun to watch (when else in your life would you pay to watch cars go in circles?). It's not attractive. It's definitely not mature
The PULSE (1:13 PM)
You're on, Will!
Chris (Youngstown)
i cant keep up with nascar circuit, there is no longer that dominant guy every year, it just a guess out of 42 guys
Dari Nowkhah (1:14 PM)
Chris... isn't it more fun that way? It's kind of like MLB, where about 8 teams every year have a legitimate shot at a championship... versus NFL where about 15 teams have a shot every year. Parity is a great thing!
brian (edenton)
nascar is one of america's best sports
Ron (Calhoun)
agreed
Johnstone (Bucktown)
Are we going to be talking some College football today Mr. Pulse?? I cant wait for the season to kickoff, Boomer Sooner!!!
Dari Nowkhah (1:16 PM)
Johnstone, you know we will... the Pulse Poll countdown continues. And to you ... BOOMER!!
Matt (Pittsburgh)
thats true NASCAR isn't as interesting as any of the major sports
Erik (San Dimas, CA)
the only thing that makes NASCAR exciting is the crashes
andrew (aberdeen proving ground, md)
Nascar is so boring i don't know how you watch for hours
andrew (aberdeen proving ground, md)
people drive every day whats so great about watching it
Jared (Chicago)
no, nascar is a ride on the freeway glorified
Matt (Pittsburgh)
nascar isn't a sport
Johnstone (Bucktown)
Sooner!!!
Ron (Calhoun)
I'm wondering, where can I e-mail Frank Beamer, I have a question about a recruit from my school
The PULSE (1:22 PM)
This is the place, Ron. Questions for our guests come from RIGHT HERE. Tamika Catchings is next ... then we've got Eric Karabell talking Fantasy Football ... and then we'll get into college football with ESPN analyst Joe Schad and Va. Tech coach Frank Beamer. Write to us!
andrew (aberdeen proving ground, md)
where do I email ms.catchings
The PULSE (1:22 PM)
right here!
Bryan (Marion Ohio)
The best name in the WNBA, Tamkia!
Steve Bunin (1:23 PM)
Alright, NASCAR-haters - we'll saddle auto racing for a while. WNBA now, with college football and Fantasy NFL ball later in the show. How many Pulsites will watch the WNBA All-Star Game today?
Johnstone (Bucktown)
I dont follow the WNBA and Im sure that Tamika is a good pro but she was a baller at Tennessee.
Rocky (New Waterford, Ohio)
WNBA All Star game...I can barely contain myself!!! (sarcasm)
Ronak (NY)
Hey Tamika, good luck today!!!!
Graham (Indy)
Easy fellas, the WNBA is pretty exciting. Don't knock it till you try it!
Steve Bunin (1:25 PM)
Ouch, Rocky! Well, we appreciate your honesty, that's for sure.
Matt (Pittsburgh)
sorry not me. I'd rather watch the pirates lose baseball games on tv.
Ron (Calhoun)
Rocky, that was pretty funny
michael (reno, nv)
Tamika was the best player to come out of Tennessee!
bernard (rock hill sc)
tamika who is the hardest player to guard in the wnba ?
The PULSE (1:26 PM)
You're on TV Bernard!
The PULSE (1:26 PM)
You're on TV Bernard!
The PULSE (1:26 PM)
You're on TV Bernard!
andrew (aberdeen proving ground, md)
yea what gram said
Erik (San Dimas, CA)
Tamika you're a true inspiration.
Sanjay(Ny,NY)
hope your shooting average comes up Tamika
Jennifer (Battle Creek)
I'll be watching the Busch race
Mike (Murrieta CA)
Won't watch the WNBA All star game or any WNBA game its a waste of time
Johnstone (Bucktown)
I guarantee that she has never had a coach as good as Summit since she left Tennessee....
Erik (San Dimas, CA)
I love you Tamika
Ryan (Boston,MA)
Like dna Shanoff's Quickie one said,"I can't sit through a WNBA game,no matter how they play."
Tyler (St. Louis )
Tamika...Good luck in the second half of the season!
Brandon (Philly)
Hey Tamika, as a Tennessee grad, don't you think a WNBA franchise down there would do well??
The PULSE (1:27 PM)
You're on, Brandon!
Jared (Chicago)
so when does the WNBA season start?
andrew (aberdeen proving ground, md)
thanks tamika for showing the world you can be short and still play please put this on tv
victor monroe la
hey tamika good luck today in the wnba all star game.and you get my vote for mvp.
Janet (Baltimore)
Hey Tamika, thanks for EVERYTHING you've done for the sport. They say you play a lot of cards. The World Series of Poker is going on right now, which WNBA player would fare the best at the card table??
Chris (Youngstown)
Nascar and WNBA, both will not watch 0 for 2 Pulse
The PULSE (1:28 PM)
You're on, Janet!
Michael (Ellicott City)
I've never watched a WNBA game in my life...
The PULSE (1:28 PM)
Tamika says Cheryl, Lisa and Diana are the WNBA card sharks!
Bobby (Duncanville)
We are all proud of you Tamika. Good Luck Tonight. Mr. Pierce from Duncanville
The PULSE (1:29 PM)
OK, Eric Karabell on Fantasy Football is up next. Send in those questions. Address them to ERIC!
Evan (Detroit)
Fantast Football is crazy. Whats the point if everyone gets injured.
Dari Nowkhah (1:38 PM)
0 FOR 2... Come on guys!! :)
Bryan (Marion Ohio)
I think you guys are 2 for 2 :)
Dari Nowkhah (1:39 PM)
Bryan, we love ya!
Chris (Youngstown)
Sorry Dari, Im down with Football though
Dari Nowkhah (1:39 PM)
Allright Chris... we've got plenty of football today too... just hang with us.
Ryan (Boston,MA)
You should of done better with talking about Madden '06.Instead of WNBA.
Dari Nowkhah (1:40 PM)
Ryan, we're talking Madden a little later. So how do you like us now!! Haha.
michael (reno, nv)
i hang with you guys every saturday from 1-4 est.
brian (edenton)
the pulse is the best fan's show out there
Dari Nowkhah (1:42 PM)
Allright... who would you draft #1 in your leagues?
Dari Nowkhah (1:43 PM)
Would you draft TO with a 3rd-round pick?
The PULSE (1:43 PM)
Any thoughts on big NFL rookie potential?
Ron (Calhoun)
Tom Brady
Brennon (Pittsburgh)
Braylon Edwards.all the way
Ethan (Rapid City, SD)
Payton Manning
Bryan (Marion Ohio)
Braylon Edwards will be the '05 rookie of the year!
Brad (Gadsden,Alabama)
manning
Erik (San Dimas, CA)
Peyton Manning
michael (reno, nv)
peyton manning
Matt (Pittsburgh)
LT.. no question.
jason (atlanta)
It has to be Tomlinson
Johnstone (Bucktown)
NFL Rookie: Mike Williams
Evan (Detroit)
Mike Williams of the Lions is better than T.O.
Mike
why is it none of my comments hit the chat??
C.J. (Booneville, MS)
Already had my draft and I had the #1 pick. I drafted Peyton Manning.
Krusty (Wheeling)
Peyton Manning hands down
Jonathan (LaGrange,Ga.)
Peyton of course
Matt (Pittsburgh)
I picked Manning first last year & i lost in my leagues superbowl
Michael (Ellicott City)
#1 in my league would be Peyton. No question.
Rocky (New Waterford, Ohio)
Whats are you talking about Eric, Kevin Jones was a main reason I won my league down the stretch last year.
Chris (Buffalo, NY)
TOMLINSON is the best all around player in the NFL today and Brees is getting better, taking pressure off LT. Peyton won't match last year's stats.
Chris (Youngstown)
Pittsburghs Tight End , Heath Miller, gets ROY no problem
jason (atlanta)
have none of these people actually played fantasy football? RB is still the most important position (though quality WR's are rapidly rising)
Matt (Pittsburgh)
HE SAID MY QUESTION!!
The PULSE (1:46 PM)
We take care of you, Matt! I told you!
Ron (Calhoun)
Carson Palmer is way overrated, what did he ever do before his Heisman run?
Omar (Vermont)
Fantasy games are an addiction. It's better than poker!
The PULSE (1:48 PM)
You're on, Omar!
Liam (Cleveland)
Fantasy games are pointless. Go play Strat-O-Matic!
The PULSE (1:49 PM)
You're on Liam ... hope your mamma's taping this!
Jesse (Brooklyn)
Eric Karabell -- Why cant LJ Smith breakout to a top five TE?...this is the first year he's the sole TE option in philly...remember Chad Lewis pro bowl years...Smith has way more talent.
The PULSE (1:49 PM)
Eric's talking to YOU, Jesse
Brad (Gadsden,Alabama)
i love fantasy games i play fantasy for every sport
Matt (Pittsburgh)
No way fantasy football is awesome, it's like being the GM of your own team. But I gues your not a football fanatic
andrew (aberdeen proving ground, md)
fantasy games rock liam you should know you have the bes t fantasy balla in yo city
Brennon (Pittsburgh)
you guy's are awesome
Erik (San Dimas, CA)
Fantasy games rock
jason (atlanta)
Fantasy sports are like a second full time job
The PULSE (1:51 PM)
Nice job with that segment, SportsNation! College football is up next. Send in your questions to our expert, Joe Schad AND Va. Tech coach Frank Beamer!
Mikey (Murrieta Ca)
USC 3 PEAT!!!! OH YA USC !!!
C.J. (Booneville, MS)
I am addicted to fantasy football.
Johnstone (Bucktown)
Nice.... Here we go.
Johnstone (Bucktown)
Wyatt Sexton might be the most interesting story in all of college football. He has had bouts of lunacy and irrational behavior but Lyme disease??? Whats that kat doing around ticks??
Bryan (Marion Ohio)
Terrible news for Wyatt Sexton and Florida State
Evan (Detroit)
But they aren't even real! You people are crazy!!
Nathan (Delano, MN)
Does laurence maroney have a chance for heisman this year if so how good is his chance?
robert (montross va)
will florida state compete for national championship this year even those they have a new qb
Chris (Buffalo, NY)
Who cares about FSU? They haven't been relevant in years!!
russell houtman fallriver,mass
WITH FLORIDA STATES EXPLOSIVE BACKFIELD TANDEM OF WASHINGTON & BOOKER DO YOU THINK FSU STILL HAS A CHANCE TO POSSIBLY WIN ACC THIS YEAR!!
Rocky (New Waterford, Ohio)
Wyatt Sexton is a headcase anyway. He tried to blame his lunacy on becoming starter for Florida State and the pressure it brings acting like it was a curse instead of a great oppurtunity and a blessing. A million kids would kill to be in his position.
Johnstone (Bucktown)
They lost Ernie Sims too. He was their best defensive player. FSU loses 3 this year
Steve Bunin (1:58 PM)
Nathan - my CFB spies tell me Maroney whould break out with Barber running for the Dallas Cowboys. Remember Maroney was 3rd in the NCAA in rushing last year, and Barber was 4th. They combined for 2,500 yards, so I'd say he could definitely win the Heisman.
Jonathan (LaGrange,Ga.)
who cares about a mediocre FSU team?
brian (edenton)
it doese't matter fsu has no chance
Joe (Miami,FL)
Fsu won't even get past BC to win the ACC.
William (Chicago)
Why does no one talk about Duke college football?
Ron (Calhoun)
If Vick can live up to his hype, then we will see the Hokies repeat as ACC Champions
Ted (Chesnut Hill,MA)
Go BC!
Josh (Lynchburg)
Will Boston be a joke this year? Since how hard the acc is to win in?
Ryan (Boston,MA)
Go Boston College!!!!!
Steve (Boston,MA)
Boston College will win the ACC! Eagles Fly! Eagles Fly! E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!!
Steve Bunin (2:00 PM)
William: Sorry to say, but it's because they're terrible every year. 2-9 last year, and not much on the horizon this fall. Plus, they always get enough ink in hoops, don't you think?
Eric (Pascagoula, MS)
Joe, do you think Sylvester Croom can lead Mississippi State back to a winning season?
Steve Bunin (2:00 PM)
William: Sorry to say, but it's because they're terrible every year. 2-9 last year, and not much on the horizon this fall. Plus, they always get enough ink in hoops, don't you think?
The PULSE (2:01 PM)
Eric in Miss. you're on!
Cody (Belle Chasse,La)
Hey Joe, What do you think of LSU and Les Miles?
The PULSE (2:01 PM)
You're turn for TV, Cody!
Johnstone (Bucktown)
Les Miles.... Bad memories for Sooner fans.
The PULSE (2:02 PM)
Frank Beamer is up next!
Ron (Calhoun)
yes, Beamer is next
brian (edenton)
va tech with marcus vick equals 12-0
Chris (Youngstown)
OSU will win the Big Ten this year, and Coach Beamer, Va Tech is one few College teams i will watch other than OSU, you gotta a good program up there
The PULSE (2:04 PM)
Who will win the ACC?
Bryan (Marion Ohio)
Miami wins the ACC
Johnstone (Bucktown)
Va tech wins. Too many questions at RB and QB for Miami.
Charles Karnes Boynton Beach, FL
Will this be the year that FSU will beat miami and if the answer is no what is the name of the field goal kicker for FSU that will miss the game winner wide right?
Matt (Chicago)
VA TEch will win the conference
Josh (Lincoln)
Va Tech
Kevin (Fburg VA)
Have the Hokies now gained ACC respect after their domination last year? What does my alma mater have to do to make their mark in college football now that Mike Vick is out of Blacksburg?
Michael (Ellicott City)
VA Tech. Vick is back, and going to be great.
Pat (Weaton, Illinois)
Its not who will win the ACC, its whose going to stop Virgina Tech!
Johnstone (Bucktown)
Va tech doesnt have FSU on their schedule and only 1 tough road game, at Virginia. Va Tech wins....
andrew (aberdeen proving ground, md)
thats not true miami is just fine
Matt (Pittsburgh)
That will be a close confrence, it will be a battle of the teams near .500
Jonathan (LaGrange,Ga.)
why are will still talking about FSU?
Dan (Baltimore)
Tarheels win it-beat Mia last year and had a great season last year to build off of.
Josh (Lynchburg, Virginia)
unc all the way
Ethan (Rapid City,SD)
Duke
Rocky (New Waterford, Ohio)
Duke has a football team?!?!
Tony (Ft Hood TX)
Va. Tech won the ACC last year when no one really gave them a chance and they really dont lose anything at the qb position with Vick instead of the graduated ACC POY, Randall, whom Vick was supposed to battle for time before all his legal troubles.....
Tim (PA)
What about South Carolina? With new coach Stever Spurrior I think they will be a good team this year.
Jonathan (LaGrange,Ga.)
how far does Spurrier take the Gamecocks?
Beau Gainesville,Fl
With all of the trouble his South Carolina team has gotten into during the off season, and the way The LSU job came open, after he took the USC job do you think Steve Spurrier is kicking himself for jumping back into the game to quickly?
Eric (Tarboro, North Carolina)
No doubt the NC State will win the ACC
dennis (xenia,ohio)
who cares about the acc? go big ten!
Tell City, IN
Indiana has been a bottom feeder in the Big Ten for the better part of the last decade? Do you think new Head Coach Hoeppner can turn around the program in the always tough Big Ten?
Tony (Ft Hood Texas)
If OSU can get past Iowa and Michigan, and the defense solid as always, can the buckeyes win the national championship with Troy Smith at QB and questions at RB?
zach plano texas
Is Chad Henne mature enough to lead Michigan to a national championship this year or in the future?
Tyler (St. Louis )
OSU is the best watch out Michigan fans!
The PULSE (2:12 PM)
Hey folks, we'll get to Frank Beamer momentarily. First, we're going to cut to Falcon DT Rod Coleman. Send him your questions NOW. And don't forget to tell me who you think will win the NFC!!!
Chuck (Knoxville, TN)
Eagles will win the nfc
Jonathan (LaGrange,Ga.)
Falcons all the way!
Johnstone (Bucktown)
NFC: Im going with the Falcons....
Rocky (New Waterford, Ohio)
Minnesota looks better than ever. I'm going with them in the NFC.
Bryan (Marion Ohio)
If Michael Vick is healthy, Atlanta will win the AFC!
Ron (Calhoun)
And it's either the Falcons or Eagles winning
Kevin (Fburg VA)
The improvements Detroit made are huge. With Jones busting up the inside, it is open filed for Rogers, and the Williams'. If Harrington doesn't cut it, Garcia can step in without missing a beat. Watch out for the Lions.
Jonathan (LaGrange,Ga.)
Vikes -- No Moss , no trophy......
Evan (Detroit)
Lions are the best
brian (edenton,nc)
to or no to eagles will win
Brennon (Pittsburgh)
Falcons
Ernesto (Fogelsville)
Please Rod, beat the Eagles. I live in PA and I am tired of my the Eagle fans talking trash.
Chris (Buffalo, NY)
IF those no name WR in Minnesota can do half of what Moss did, they'll win but only because half their defense used to play for Buffalo.
Tyler Nelson (Roosevelt, UT)
I pick Falcons
Bryan (Marion Ohio)
You are a true role model Rod, thank you for all that you do for the kids!
The PULSE (2:17 PM)
You're on, Bryan!
Ron (Calhoun)
Rod, any QB you enjoy sacking?
The PULSE (2:17 PM)
You're on, Ron!
Mike (Grand Haven, MI)
Detroit is going to win the NFC
Dan (Baltimore)
Minnesota's def has no chemistry. they spent alot of money for players-reminds me of the Skins a few years ago and nothing happened outa taht; and Moss is gone. So they wont get very far.
Ted (Tampa,FL)
NFC'ers,You still have to go through the PATS.
Curtis (Greensboro)
I've got the Eagles taking the NFC AND Super Bowl XL
Brian (Charlotte)
Panthers will win the NFC. They have almost everyone back and healthy. They did well in the draft as well.
Ron (Calhoun)
haha, thanks
Mike (Grand Haven, MI)
The Patroit are going to fall on their faces
Tony (Ft Hood TX)
Rod, do you think Ricky Williams will still be able to dominate the way he did before he gave up on the Dolphins last year?
The PULSE (2:19 PM)
You're on Tony!
Josh (St. Louis)
Philly's done good at at least getting to the NFC title game, but I just see them having a hiccup before the NFC title game, but then again the NFC is down right now, so even a hiccup game they could still pull out
Matt (Danville, Kentucky)
Pats will fall opening day to my Raiders!
Matt (Danville, Kentucky)
The Panthers got Stefan LeFors...being a Louisville fan, I've seen all he can do and then some...this guy is a stud. If they put him out there, they will be flawless.
Jared (Chicago)
People always talk about classy organizations, but the Atlanta Falcons franchise is truley the cream of the crop.
andrew (aberdeen proving ground, md)
if im not on today Im gonna stop watching the show
andrew (aberdeen proving ground, md)
patriots quadpeat
Tyler (Roosevelt, UT)
thanks rod
The PULSE (2:20 PM)
Hey, Andrew, man, don't give up on us. Lots of goodies left today on The PULSE!!!
Morgan (Midway, Texas)
who is next?
Jake (Billings)
The Packers will win the NFC & Brett Favre will pass on the QB job to Aaron Rodgers
Tony (Ft Hood TX)
sweet
Rocky (New Waterford, Ohio)
Moss leaving Minnesota was addition by subtraction. Their Defense will mesh in train camp and preseason and they will surpass the Eagles and Falcons this year.
The PULSE (2:21 PM)
We're thinking Coach Frank Beamer is up next ... we've still got Robb Nen (retired Giant) and Chris Carmichael (Lance Armstrong's personal trainer) coming up.
Josh (Lynchburg, Virginia)
pats will be in detriot in january
Eli (Rhode Island)
Anything else??
Kevin(Fburg VA)
Do the Bears have a chance with the return of Grossman and the arrivals of Benson and Muhammad?
Steve Bunin (2:23 PM)
Kev - you bet. I know that Sean Salisbury loved what Rex Grossman was doing last year before he got injured. If Mushin repeates what he did last season, and if Ced Benson can even come close to a 1,000-yd, 7TD season, look for a big improvement by the Bears.
The PULSE (2:23 PM)
Yep, we've got Vince VanPatten talking World Series of Poker, Byron Velvick - BASS Fisherman and former "Bachelor", Jamie Farr - Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic (LPGA) and Shawn Drotar our video games expert from OperationSports.com.
Pat (Chicago, Illinois)
I am a die hard Bear fan, you bet the Bears go 9-7 this year!
David (Boca Raton, FL
I too better be on, i have been trying a lot
Rocky (New Waterford, Ohio)
operation sports forums are the best.
The PULSE (2:25 PM)
If you're a video game junkie, send in your questions to Sean today!
Tony (Ft Hood TX)
Grossman was a great QB all the way through High School and College and I know its only a matter of time before he stays healthy long enough to put up the numbers in the NFL.
Johnstone (Bucktown)
The Indiana Fever is a terrible name.... There needs to be some kind of significance in a team name, no??
DeRon (Ofallon)
your greaat tamika
Matt (illinois)
Are baseball and Softball gone for good from the Olympics?
Steve Bunin (2:28 PM)
Matt - They are IN for the 2008 Games in Beijing, and they can appeal for reinstatement in 2009. But they are DEFINITELY out for the 2012 London Games.
Chris (Omaha)
I'm personally offended that the IOC eliminated baseball and softball from the Olympics. It's easy to point and say it's because of steroids or lack of MLB players participating. The IOC must think we're fools. Just call it what it is - anti-Americanism.
The PULSE (2:30 PM)
Strong words, what do you think, SportsNation? Do you agree?
Tyler (Roosevelt, UT)
Dang USA tears it up in both sports
Bryce (Iowa)
Why did they take Softball out of the Olympics for 2012?? it looked to me like softball was becoming a big sport in some countries? Noo!
Morgan (Midway, Texas)
Why would they take out baseball and softball but not badminton and sychronized swimming?
Johnstone (Bucktown)
Well, we didnt even qualify for Greece in baseball... Anti-american is a bit of a sweeping statement.
Chris ((Cowden, IL))
i thought baseball in the olympics was boring
Chris ((Cowden, IL))
but thats just me
Mike (Grand Haven, MI)
I agree, Baseball and Softball belong in the Olympics, how about they drop soccer.
Dan (Jarrettsville, MD)
It may just be Anti-Americanism. Is it our fault we can play sports better than others? I think not. Hell take out swimming or badminton. Or add Lacrosse or even Football.
Curtis (Greensboro)
I think both are sports that should remain, but certainly moreso softball, because it is clearly the largest and most prestigious stage for the sport.
Tony (Ft Hood TX)
I completely agree, how can you have Ping-Pong, but not baseball?...its crazy
jamie (fostoria)
they're tired of the usa winning all the golds
Erik (San Dimas, CA)
The IOC made a mistake of epic proportions by elimination baseball and softball from the 2012 olympics
Chris (Buffalo, NY)
I'm not sure it's anti-Americanism, baseball is still growing internationally, but I don't any other reason for dropping one of the few sports people actually watch.
Josh (Lynchburg, Virginia)
would a wold cup work in mlb with other countries to play against teams from the us?
The PULSE (2:34 PM)
World Cup of Baseball. I like it.
James (Edmond, Oklahoma)
Why the &*$# is ping-pong even a sport
andrew (aberdeen proving ground, md)
ping pong sounds funny
dice (xenia,ohio)
i think we need to get back to the way it was before using amauter or college players.. it wasnt broke why fix it??? o we american's wanted to win so we stole it all! lol
andrew (aberdeen proving ground, md)
bball is the best sport in the world
Marc (Boston)
Baseball is growing around the globe, but the best players are still in MLB and they're not taking part of the season off to play in the Olympics
Jake (Billings)
USA Baseball couldn't stand a chance at the olympics. Most of the big names in baseball aren't even Americans. Look at the homerun Derby. Do you think the American's going to win?
Matt (Danville, Kentucky)
Is it just me, or does it seem that Kenny Rogers organized that apology just to get into the all star game? I don't buy it...
Rocky (New Waterford, Ohio)
Rogers should be classy and bow out of the All Star game. Don't take focus off of the game.
Krusty (Wheeling)
i completely agree with Wells, the cameraman had no right to follow Rogers if he said no.
The PULSE (2:38 PM)
You're on, Krusty.
The PULSE (2:38 PM)
You too, Rocky.
Justin (Taft, CA)
If Kenny Rogers would have acted the same way towards two camera men in the first week of the season, would all these people still feel that he should sit out of the All Star game? Or is it just a case of bad timing?
Dan from Haslett, Michigan
David Wells's comments regarding Kenny Rogers are ridiculous. The reporter's not turning off the camera gave Rogers no right to "turn it off himself." All professional players have to expect that behavior; reporters are famous for being annoying. But the players have to act like a professional even when the reporters do not. When a fan is verbally assaulting a player, does that give a player the right to shut his mouth for him? According to David Wells and undoubtedly Jose Conseco, the answer would be yes. If these players think they have this right, let them act upon that "right" and see what the law does to them.
michael (reno, nv)
David Wells needs to be suspended for his comments today. Absolutely disgusting.
The PULSE (2:39 PM)
You're on!
Tony (Ft Hood Texas)
David Wells is a hot-head and always has been and doesnt suprise me that those comments came out of his mouth.
Bryan (Marion Ohio)
David Wells should be fined for his comments!
Bryan (Marion Ohio)
David Wells is a idiot!
Curtis (Greensboro)
If Rogers had the right to "turn off the camera" (which I don't even think he did), then that's one thing. Assaulting the man is a different story.
Curtis (Greensboro)
Adn the sexual assault comparison is ludicrous... if anyone was the assaulter, it was Rogers.
Denis ((Jacksonville))
But its the camermans job and Rogers should just respect that.
Bryan (Marion Ohio)
Kenny Rogers should NOT pitch on Tuesday!
The PULSE (2:41 PM)
Alright. There you have it. Hit me with your video game questions now!
Ernesto (Fogelsville, PA)
Madden Rocks
Steve Bunin (2:43 PM)
Wow - amazing response, Pulsites. I gotta say - you are bringing your A game. Now we're talking video games. I KNOW you all get into this sort of thing. What's the best sports video game of all-time?
Johnstone (Bucktown)
Which medium of vicarious living is more psychologically inhibiting, video games or fantasy football??
Bryce (Iowa)
What was changed this year in NCCA and Madden 2006?
John (Charlotte)
Why don't college games use the players real names? Is it some silly NCAA rule?
Curtis (Greensboro)
NCAA Football 2005 demonstated a big improvement in the EA Sports college football franchise. Will we see a similarly large improvement between 2005 and 2006?
michael (los angeles)
This years verssion is going to be the best one ever. I also cant wait for the next-gen version on xbox 360.
Chuck (Knoxville, TN)
i like creating a school and taking the all the way in all the confrenses
Kevin (Fburg VA)
Is the video game craze encouraging kids to actually play the sports they see in video games, or will they be content with the virtual side of sports?
Jamie (Fostoria,OH)
the madden series by far is the best game series of all time hands down
Pat (Chicago, Illinois)
The difference between Madden '03 and Madden '04/'05 where the Playmaker and Hit Stick. Whats the newest feature in Madden '06 that will separate this game from the rest?
The PULSE (2:45 PM)
Good question. Let's see what the expert Shawn has to say!
Steve Bunin (2:45 PM)
Kevin - a good question. I've seen some experts boast that video games help kids analyze statistics instantly, improves their hand-eye coordination, and such. And yet, at some point, parents gotta get their kids outside. Videos may rock, but actual excercise rocks, too, and the actual games take the cake, wouldn't you agree?
Jared (Chicago)
Dari stole my question!! Woo Hoo.
andrew (aberdeen proving ground, md)
Pulse please put my cover question on tv or ill stop watching Iv been here for a year and still not on tv
Tony (Ft Hood Texas)
Madden and College Football 2006 are both great games, but I think College is more in depth with the recruiting process and my personal favorite, the ability to pitch the ball and run the option that Madden doesnt have!
Steve Bunin (2:47 PM)
alright Andrew. Now, we've got you on the blog. Tell us - which is your top Video Sports game?
JJ (LaCrosse)
Madden 2006 is going to be the best game of all time, until Madden 2007 comes out
Josh (Lynchburg, Virginia)
that passing cone sounds awsome!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Johnstone (Bucktown)
Great point... Im happy that kids are having a good time with their video games, but they are also having a good time with being obese....
Jake (Billings, MT)
IN NCAA Football 2005, my Boise State running back ran for 4500 yards & 85 touchdowns, & lost to the Oklahoma Running back for Heisman, just because my guy was from Boise State
Curtis (Greensboro)
Are there any improvements in the create-a-school feature?
Chris (Coatesville, PA)
I have both Madden and NCAA reserved and will be right there to get them when they come out, but will people really ever respect NCAA as much as a game without any of the player's names?
Chris (Coatesville, PA)
I have both Madden and NCAA reserved and will be right there to get them when they come out, but will people really ever respect NCAA as much as a game without any of the player's names?
Rocky (New Waterford, Ohio)
You can't make money off of college players. Just buy an Action Replay and download edited rosters with the names already in it.
Matt (Stafford)
Which next gen system will be better. PS3 or Xbox 360?
Steve Bunin (2:49 PM)
Matt, you're on!
Chris (Buffalo, NY)
Madden is by far the best ever -- they revolutionized the franchise feature and I wish other games went that far and in depth.
Brian (Charlotte)
Definitely looking forward to NCAA 2006...its like Christmas in july
Steve Bunin (2:49 PM)
You're on THE PULSE, Brian!
Robert (Emporia,VA)

The PULSE (2:51 PM)

The PULSE (2:52 PM)
Way to be, Tony! Beginner's luck! :)
Ron (Calhoun, GA)
Hahahahaha, I do that every year, creating names, players, and schools are fun
BobCat X (Richmond VA)
This is for those remarks by David Wells ... just shut up nut ... K. Rogers was never provoked nor had any justification to attack both cameramen. Both men were just doing their jobs and for a veteran like himself to pull that crap (regardless of his past) is not good to the league. he needs to take himself out of the AllStar game
Chris (Coatesville, PA)
Thanks to The Pulse for getting me on
Chris (Buffalo, NY)
Whatever happened to Robb Nen? Did he retire?
Dari Nowkhah (2:55 PM)
Dudes and Dudettes... Robb Nen is on NOW! Get your questions in... how much would you have hated hitting against him in his day?
The PULSE (2:55 PM)
You know it. He's retired. Now he's staying busy with Adam Carolla look-a-like contests. ... Kidding!
Bryce Steckly (Iowa)
Mariano is not a great closer dont u guys remember him blowing the game for the world series against the diamondbacks
Ron (Calhoun, GA)
Dang Steve, you stole my question for Rob, hah
The PULSE (2:56 PM)
Grea minds think alike, Ron!
Jake (Billings, MT)
I don't have a problem with Kenny Rogers pitching in the All-Star game, but if he doesn't do extremely good, he better get ready for some hardcore booing
Josh (Lynchburg, Virginia)
Robb, since the Yankees are Pedro's daddy, Are The redsoxs Mariono's Daddy?
The PULSE (2:56 PM)
Brilliant, Josh. Brilliant.
Alex (Iowa)
He blows one game and you say he is not a great closer? He is one of the greatest of all time.
jonathan (dresden tennessee)
i would have hated hittin against him because he is the best closing pitcher of all times i think !
Kevin (Fburg VA)
Robb--what hitters had you nervous on the mound?
The PULSE (2:58 PM)
You're on.
JJ (LaCrosse)
The Giants really could use Rob Nen this year!!!! GO White Sox
The PULSE (2:58 PM)
You too, JJ
Joshua Fischman (Anchorage, Alaska)
I would never wish to be at the plate facing a Nen slider!
Denis ((Jacksonville))
Robb you think the Giants will make a run this year and if not, do you see Felipe Alou leaving?
The PULSE (3:00 PM)
You'reon, Denis!
Krusty (Wheeling)
the giants need a lot, they need a power hitter, pitching and just about everything a team needs
Chris (Coatesville, PA)
I think 65% of the teams this year could still use Robb!
Colin (Chicago)
The Red Sox could use Rob Nen this year
Joshua Fischman (Anchorage, Alaska)
Robb, did you take part in any superstitions as a a Major League closer?
The PULSE (3:00 PM)
Johnny Damon is wishing Rob was kicking around Beantown this year.
Dari Nowkhah (3:01 PM)

Johnstone (Bucktown)
Question: Who will pay attention to the Tour de France next year with Lance retired??? Exactly...
Joshua Fischman (Anchorage, Alaska)
In the Tour de France, how is the road closed off?
The PULSE (3:08 PM)
Good question, Joshua. I like that one.
Jake (Billings, MT)
Lance will ein the Tour e France hands down. 55 seconds is a good enough lead
Dari Nowkhah (3:09 PM)
This should be great! Jamie Farr is next! Get your questions in now!
Johnstone (Bucktown)
He should have worn a dress!!!
Joshua Fischman (Anchorage, Alaska)
It should be great. This is Jamie Farr we're talking about here!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Johnstone (Bucktown)
Jamie Farr really should have worn a blouse and heels...

Drew (Springfield, IL)
I luv MASH its it very funny!!!
Joshua Fischman (Anchorage, Alaska)
To Wie most definitely!!!!!!!!!!!
richard (Kimberly, Idaho)
i like the show!
Chris (Coatesville, PA)
53 years in the same profession? He's getting up with Julio Franco!
Ben (St.louis)
not to wie
Jeremy (Boston)
I think Michelle Wie should play in the LPGA tour, and least win one of their events before trying to make the cut in the Men's events
Erik (San Dimas, CA)
I love M*A*S*H
Chris (Greeneville, TN)
Why is everyone putting so much on Wie's shoulders? She's only fifteen. Just let her play and develop as a player.
Johnstone (Bucktown)
Wie is a phenom, but I personally think she could definitely serve her career in a better way by playing the LPGA tour.
Chris (Coatesville, PA)
53 years in the same profession? He's getting up with Julio Franco!
Jake (Billings, MT)
I think Wie should compete with the men when she's older, because she almost made the cut now, & imagine when she's older and a lot better
Johnstone (Bucktown)
Best sitcom since Mash: Seinfeld!!!
Jared (Chicago)
The Drew Carey Show is the best.

Joshua Fischman (Anchorage, Alaska)
Poker is a sport for the winners of the world, who want to take their winning flare and raise the stakes, so to speak!
Jake (Billings, MT)
Of Course Poker isn't a sport. "I Raise. Gotta take a breather. What a workout!"
Rocky (New Waterford, Ohio)
Teddy hot dog eating is considered a sport to ESPN. Poker is a sport just a leisure sport.
Ethan (Rapid City,SD)
Poker Rules
Joe (Salt Lake City)
Hello-Poker is not a sport-it is a game-it actually makes golfers look athletic.
Dave (Riverview, MI)
Poker is a fun card game to play though, because you can make a lot out a little, and your hand doesn't dictate how well you can do like most other card games.
Chris (Coatesville, PA)
What's up with the commercial for WSOP, where's Chris Moneymaker?
Tyler (St. Louis )
The next champ will be Monymaker!!
Bryce Steckly (Iowa)
Who has the best chance to win the World Series of Poker?
Chris (Hope, Indiana)
Who is the favorite to win the tournament, and who is someone that will suprise us this year?
Kevin (Chicago, IL)
I think the poker fad is going to fade!
Joe (Salt Lake City)
The infatuation with poker recently is that non-athetic types who love sports can feel like they have a way in.
Donald (Michigan)
Vince, what's the most money you have ever made/lost in poker??
Ethan (Rapid City,SD)
Poker is to a sport. Pros play it .
Johnstone (Bucktown)
Any activity where you can drink while doing it, is not a sport....
Johnstone (Bucktown)
Poker only got the pub it did because there was no NhL to air.
JJ (Tomah)
It is unbelieveable how big poker is!!
Chad (Cumberland, MD)
I'm sorry I don't find it enjoyable watching other people play cards.
Adrian (Ventura)
Huh? Poker has been popular for the last two years. The NHL has nothing to do with it.
andrew (aberdeen proving ground, md)

Joe (Evansville, IN)
How? You just gotta know when to hold 'em and you gotta know when to fold 'em.
Jared (Chicago)
For 8-10 mil, I'd sit on my butt, drink beer, and play cards.
Scott (Great Falls)
Poker isn't a sport because it's all mental.
Adrian (Ventura)
Crap, I wasn't paying attention... Did he answer my question?
The PULSE (3:33 PM)
You missed it, Adrian! You were on TV!!!
The PULSE (3:33 PM)
Hey, do you guys think Schilling can cut it as a closer??
Dana (Camden)
How come starters like Schilling couldn't close? I understand starters need more time warming up, but isn't pitching just pitching? Wether it's in the 1st inning or 9th?
raymond si,ny
the whole thing with Curt Schilling being the Red Sox closer. I think that if he becomes a closer then boston will win a lot of games that way because they have an excellent pitching staff. If he becomes a closer i think more teams with good pitching should do that. Because then you will have a great pitcher who can throw a lot of pitches.
Brandon Lutz (Concord, CA)
I think moving schilling to the closer role is a bad move by the red sox. It should be Mike Timlin. Timlin has had some trouble closing games in the past, but i believe he deserves a second chance, this time around, well, you never know. Considering Curt Schilling is coming straight off the DL, i believe its a bad move to rely on him to finish your games, and potentially lose them. Mike Timlin has already proven his capability to the Red Sox, and the games before the All Star break could be critical for bringing moment into the second half of the season. I believe schilling should just sit the rest of the season out, get fully (or nearly recovered), and be fully healthy for the playoffs, when he'll be critically needed.
richard (Kimberly, Idaho)
YES CURT SCHILLINg could cut it as a closer
Rocky (New Waterford, Ohio)
Schilling ain't gonna do any worse than Foulke was, why not give it a shot, Even if he fails you have Mike Timlin to fall back on. Who has been pitching pretty good all year.
Dave (Riverview, MI)
No, it's not. It's a different mental approach in the 9th. Anyways, Curt is more valuable as a starter than as a closer, even with their closer woes.
Cesar Izturis (Dearborn, Michigan)
I think Schilling will fail as a closer, and will be almost instantly switched back to ace starter.
Chad (Cumberland, MD)
Yes, its Curt Schilling he can cut it as anything.
Matt (Lawler Iowa)
no, u have to use timlin, hes looked good the times he closed
Ryan (Boston,MA)
They need to put Timlin as closer.
Ron (Calhoun, GA)
Yeah, If Smoltz and Gagne did it, sure
Ian (Boston)
Sure, Curt could probably do it. But that doesn't change the fact that he's an arrogant evangilist.
Johnstone (Bucktown)
Schilling would love to be a starter but he doesnt feel that his ankle could go for 100 pitches at a time....
Joe (Salt Lake City)
If Shilling comes back healthy it should be as a starter-if not healty100%,than not time to bring him back in any role.
Joe (Evansville, IN)
Look how well it worked for Atlanta and I think we can put Schilling and Smoltz in the same conversation.
Joshua Fischman (Anchorage, Alaska)
Schilling is a winner and winners overcome adversity and succeed. He will thrive in the closer role until help is broought in!
Josh L (Swampscott)
Yes, schilling can cut it
Chris (Buffalo, NY)
Most starters will never be able to close bcause of the mentality especially if they come in with runners on base. There's way to much pressure to make no mistakes. Starters (except maybe Clemens) know they can make mistakes because their teams have all game to come back. They can't affiord that mistake in the 9th inning.
Casey (Boston, MA)
I think Schilling could pull a Smoltz Or an Ecklersey, It all deepends on how he gets prepared for it, remeber this is a guy who prepares himself for a game by throwing 60 pitches befor it, what happens when they need him in the bottom of the 9th, he can't just jump up and go in.
Chris (Coatesville, PA)
Don't forget Eck
Jared (Chicago)
And Ryan Dempster.
Scott (Great Falls)
How bad could Schilling do? It's not like he'll blow every single game. I bet he saves 80% of his games
Matt (Lawler)
look at schilling in triple A, if he cant cut it there, hows he going to in the majors
Ben (St.louis)
no, i dont think schilling can cut it, i mean hes a started and doesnt throw hard enough to cut it as a closer
Krusty (Wheeling)
well for now schilling need to concentrate at getting back to the way he pitched last yr and the year before, he needs to be starting not finishing
Chris (Youngstown)
Im done with Schilling, just retire man, leave our lives forever
Chad (Cumberland, MD)
See i think Curt has been around long enough to be ready for any situation.
Tony (Fort Hood Texas)
Im back, just flipped back and saw were gonna talk some college football
The PULSE (3:39 PM)
Yes sir. Want to change gears? Hit me with your college football COMMENTS.
Ryan (Cedar Falls, Ia)
Iowa Hawkeyes are going to suprise agian this year....tate will take them to the national championship...USC V.S. Iowa!
Johnstone (Bucktown)
Oklahoma will beat Texas for the 6th time in a row this year and will go to their 3rd consecutive NC game, and lose.
Joshua Fischman (Anchorage, Alaska)
The men of troy at USC will continue to reign as National Champions!
Casey (Boston, MA)
Matt Linehart Will Not Win The Heisman.
Richard (Kimberly, Idaho)
do you think boise state is any good?
Scott (Great Falls)
After Miami's disappointing show last year, it'll be interesting to see how they do this year
Ron (Calhoun, GA)
Yeah, Miami's Kyle Wright will not be the answer, so look for the Hokies to remain supreme
Ben (St.louis)
mizzou ruined brad smith
David (Michigan)
Michigan is going to win the Big 10 again! They are so talented!
Joe (Salt Lake City)
See poker is so boring and not a sport we have already moved on to baseball and now college football I see.
Ryan (Boston,MA)
Mathias Kiwanuka will own the ACC QB's.
Joshua Fischman (Anchorage, Alaska)
What's next Pulse? I'm your man for interesting quotes and stimulating questions!
Chris (Youngstown)
Ted Ginn, OSU's reciever is the most exciting player in Football
Dave (Riverview, MI)
I am very glad that the NFL has an age limit. It makes the college game so much better!
Chris (Coatesville, PA)
Miami needs to have a great year after last years disappointment...but I still love them....GO HURRICANES!
Mark (Washington D.C.)
Being a Virginia Tech student, I'm telling you all right now not to forget the Hokies! They practically can't lose at home in Blacksburg.
Mark (Washington D.C.)
The Hokies are a force to reconed with. They'll win the ACC again.
Steve Bunin (3:44 PM)
Solid work, Pulsites -- we've just established a Pulse-record # of hits in our Chat-room. Thousands of you have joined in - and I'm just wondering, is there a single team that can handle USC this fall?
Erik (San Dimas, CA)
USC=3peat
Richard (Kimberly, Idaho)
do you think marcus vick is anything like his older brother mike?
Chad (Cumberland, MD)
Is Marcus Vick is as much of a scrabmler as Mike? Or does he have the ability to pass in the pocket?
Scott (Great Falls)
Matt Leinart has no competition for Heisman. As long as he doesn't do horrible, he'll win it
Scott (Great Falls)
Marcus Vick better not be overrated, or else he's not ever going to be drafted
Ben (St.louis)
marcus vick will finally show his talent and succend as V. Techs QB just like michale dud
Tyler (St. Louis )
OSU will win the Big Ten!
Chris (Coatesville, PA)
I am interested to see Marcus Vick, see if being Mike's brother weighs too heavily on him.
Scott (Great Falls)
I wonder how Boise State will do in the polls. Will they be taken as a great team, or a great WAC team?
Tyler (St. Louis )
Who is Va tech's biggest challenge this year?
Matt (Lawler)
marcus is way overrated, just because of his brother
Chris (Youngstown)
Va Tech biggest challenge is having Vick
Josh Lunder (Swampscott)
marcus vick is going to be AWESOME. He is accurate and has beautiful touch. He might become as good as his brother Mike.
Denis ((Jacksonville))
I like the tigers of LSU with thier talent to dethrone them.
Ron (Calhoun, GA)
Mike said that Marcus is better
Ron (Calhoun, GA)
Miami and Virginia
Joshua Fischman (Anchorage, Alaska)
Matt Leinart will repeat as the Heisman winner! I am willing to stake my house and car on that assertion!
Joe (Salt Lake City)
2 horse race Michigan and USC.I favor Michigan slightly.
Mark (Washington D.C.)
I can't see Marcus being even as close to as good as his brother, he doesn't have the focus.
Chris (Coatesville, PA)
Only team that can handle USC, is USC....I think they may even take out the 49ers this year!
Mike (Grand Rapids, MI)
MSU will be Michigan's undoing and Iowa will win the Big Ten
Jared (Chicago)
Notre Dame will handle USC. Go IRISH!!!!
Trevor (Sumner, WA)
Texas will beat Oklahoma this year. OU is overratted
Johnstone (Bucktown)
Mark it down on your calender... Boise St. beats UGa in week 1.
Steve Bunin (3:47 PM)
Other than some Boise State-backers, and a few Maize&Blue fans, it looks like you're all locked in on the Trojans, and with good reason. What about the best WR in the nation?
Chris (Buffalo, NY)
USC 34, MICHIGAN 21 -- USC wins their third national championship in a row over Michigan
Steve Bunin (3:47 PM)
Tyler - you're on the air RIGHT NOW!
Dave (Riverview, MI)
I've always wanted to see some great college football team take on a pro team
Casey (Boston, MA)
No Way!!!!!!! Oklahoma Will Run Them Out Of the Stadium.
3FF (Arlington, VA)
everyone will misunderestimate the Hoosiers, yet again!
Dustin (Augusta, GA)
No, USC should be considered the hands down favorite. But the team I will pick to cover every Saturday is Florida. Urban Meyer is going to be a huge success with the Gators. Take what he got done at Bowling Green and Utah, and now imagine him in the football hotbed that is the state of Florida, and also in the SEC (the second best football conference behing the Big XII).
Steve Bunin (3:48 PM)
Dustin - good work. You sure you're not a professional CFB handicapper?
Tony (Fort Hood Texas)
Thats easy..There isnt a better pair in the country then the buckeyes Holmes and Ginn, JR.
Joel clayton (Trion GA)
Miami is going to dominant this year kyle wright will step it up at QB
michael (springfield,ohio)
two words teddy ginnn!!!!!!!!
Johnstone (Bucktown)
Best WR: Dwayne Jarret
Joshua Fischman (Anchorage, Alaska)
Hands-down Steve Smith of USC!
Matt (Brooklyn, NY)
Steve Breston at Michigan is the best WR in the nation! He's the fastest and most explosive player!
cheyne (MIAMI)
i think the hokies are so overrated!!!!
Ryan (Cedar Falls, Ia)
im off to work....go cubs and go hawks....PULSE IS AWESOME!
Dave (Riverview, MI)
Lloyd carr elected to put the pressure on Texas's kicker last year by not taking any TO's when Texas was down, and in nearing its way into FG range..a very unwise decision.
Alex (Iowa)
I gotta run, thanks PULSE, its been great.
Steve Bunin (3:51 PM)
We're finishing up strong with fishing. How many of you Pulsites watch it?
The PULSE (3:51 PM)
10 MINUTES LEFT. C'mon fishing fans. I need to hear from you!!
Chris (Coatesville, PA)
What is this? Only 10 minutes left? I say we extend today's show another couple hours!
The PULSE (3:52 PM)
Fishers ... c'mon!
Dave (Riverview, MI)
Hah..I guess more chances for me to get on T.V. eh?
Joshua Fischman (Anchorage, Alaska)
Fly Fishing is my life Steve Bunin!
Joe (Salt Lake City)
OK Fishing all I can say is probably more a sport than Poker LOL
Scott (Great Falls)
Sorry, but watching fishing is just plain boring. Even when they get a bite, even when watching the anglers struggle to get the fish on deck, it's still boring
Dustin (Augusta, GA)
Not I. Not only do I not fish myself, I certainly don't find myself watching it on television. And what is with this guy yelling at fish? His he stealing a page out of the turkey hunting playbook?
Chris (Coatesville, PA)
I fish, but watching it on TV is like watching paint dry, but no less respect to those guys. I've been deep-sea fishing several times and those fights will give you a workout!
Jared (Chicago)
Ice fishing in Minnesota is the greatest.
Ron (Calhoun, GA)
This sport is animal cruelty, that worm did nothing to you homes
Joe (Salt Lake City)
Fishing-How about the Marlins -can they come back in NL East.
Scott (Great Falls)
Fishing is the lowest ranked sport on the list, but at least it's a sport unlike poker
Derek (Auburn,CA)
I have a huge bass in my backyard pond but I can't catch it. What kind of bait should I use?
Casey (Boston, MA)
Why Not Ice Fishing??
Mark (Washington D.C.)
Fishing, like poker, is fun to do but not to watch
Eddy (Houston )
Hi Mr. Bunin who is the best in fishing who do you like.
Casey (Boston, MA)
Live NightCrawlers.
Joshua Fischman (Anchorage, Alaska)
Ice fishing in Anchorage is the best! There is so much ice and so many fish!
3FF (Arlington, VA)
I like PHISH
Steve Bunin (3:56 PM)
I like Roy Scheider. He caught the biggest one of 'em all. In Jaws, in case you can't recall who he is.
The PULSE (3:56 PM)
Hey, 3FF, quit bouncing around that room of yours and focus!! :)
Chris (Buffalo, NY)
Wait, was that an actual fishing question???
Dave (Riverview, MI)
Ice fishing seems like it should only be done for survival sakes
Scott (Great Falls)
I'd rather fish than play baseball any day
ryan (hawkeye, iowa)
byron who do you think is the best bass fisherman?
The PULSE (3:57 PM)
You're on Ry!
Joe (Salt Lake City)
I eat fish .That count.
Scott (Great Falls)
OK that as my last chance to get in TV
Steve Bunin (3:57 PM)
Thanks Pulsites - we're signing off. SEE YOU NEXT WEEK!
