ALL of our guests will be taking emails. Send in your questions and comments for these guys now and you could see them (and your name) on TV tomorrow!
Aaron (Italy)
When will you guys get Sidney Crosby on the show?
The PULSE (5:21 PM)
We had him on two weeks ago, actually. I'm sure he'll make another appearance ... although, he's an even hotter commodity now that the puck has been dropped.
Dustin (Rapid City, SD)
What video games will Aaron Boulding be talking about? I suppose it will be NCAA and Madden 06. I wish he would talk about NASCAR 06: Total Team Control.
The PULSE (5:22 PM)
He's a video games know-it-all. He'll talk about what you want him to. Just ask him, we'll put him to the test.
Josh (Fargo)
Do we send the questions for any guest right here?
The PULSE (5:24 PM)
Yep, just start with the person's name you are asking or commenting to. That way we can find it on Saturday and direct it to the right place. For example ''Lauren Jackson, why did you stand up the ESPN.com chat on Friday afternoon?'' :)
Steve (Dallas)
Dang, another great day at the Pulse.
The PULSE (5:34 PM)
You know it. We're winding things down in here for today. Send in questions for our guests on The Pulse anytime. We'll be back here chatting on Saturday. See you then!
The PULSE (9:53 AM)
Alright, it's Saturday, we're a few hours away from tipoff here at THE PULSE and we're already on the lookout for some good email questions from YOU. The first one's we'll need will be for Buddy Rice who is at the A.J. Foyt 225 at the Milwaukee Mile.
The PULSE (9:53 AM)
Then, we'll need some for Dale Jarrett who is at the Pennsylvania 500.
The PULSE (9:54 AM)
And we're caling all fishermen (and breakdancers) to send in some questions to outrageous BASSMASTER champ Mike Iaconelli.
The PULSE (10:43 AM)
We'll need some video games questions for our expert Aaron Boulding.
The PULSE (11:48 AM)
And hockey fans, we'll have John Steigerwald of KDKA-TV in Pittsburgh on THE PULSE to talk about Sidney Crosby coming to the Penguins. We're dying to hear your take on this kid. What do you expect from Sidney Crosby. Send in your comments and questions for John now!
Dari Nowkhah (12:41 PM)
Good afternoon and good morning everybody! Here we are... 20 minutes from the PULSE! You guys, get those questions in to our guests. We've got a great guest list today. And David Amber and I will be chatting with you on here too. Let's have some fun!
Brad (Cleveland, OH)
I'm looking forward to seeing Crosby and Lemieux on the ice together. I will be making a few drives from Cleveland and also looking into a Hi-Def TV.
Chase (East Meadow, NY)
Sidney Crosby is the next Mario Lemieux!
Chase (East Meadow, NY)
DARI DARI DARI, you and David are the best with a close second coming from Stewart and Russell
Dari Nowkhah (12:55 PM)
Aaah, Chase, you're too kind! And look, that got you on the site! Good job! Uh oh, gotta run, 6 mintues to go!
Jared (Chicago)
and we're off
Aaron (Lincoln, Ne)
What time will the pulse air?
THE PULSE (1:05 PM)
We're on, baby!!
KYLE BROD (RICHMOND,VIRGINIA)
I just want everyone to kow that no matter how good the Yankees are looking right now, they will not make the playoffs. Their rotation is terrible and the can not compete with the Red Sox! The Pulse is awesome! Go Red Sox!
THE PULSE (1:05 PM)
Hmm. Spoken like a true Sox fan. Think they can do that without another closer??
Nathan (Delano, MN)
Im not sure but i think the twins might be shipping of rincon or JC Ramero.
Paul (New York)
bosox need a closer and another starter, maybe stealing A.J Burnett away from Baltimore
josh (boston)
we should have timlin as our closer
Will (Boston)
Yankees are not going to make it is all Red Sox.
Ron B (Cincinnati)
Curt Schilling thinks he's ready to re-enter the rotation. Are you kidding me? He can't even get through one inning unscathed, much less 5 or 6.
andy (vestal)
orioles are going to win the AL east
Jade (new York)
I think the sox will get wagner from the phillies as their new closer, but the cardinals are going to win it all, why even argue?!
Will (Boston)
red Sox will need Billy Wagner no Eddie Guardado
Paul (New York)
Alan Embree might joinging the mets soon
Will (Boston)
I do not know anything about College football so ill just watch this one
Chris (Buffalo, NY)
I'M SO EXCITED!!!
Frank (Orlando)
The true team of New York is the Mets. They will make the playoffs this year
Jared (chicago)
who's the first guest?
THE PULSE (1:11 PM)
Desmond Howard!! THE 1991 Heisman Trophy Winner and Super Bowl XXXI MVP
Guy (Chicago)
Anybody got a fork I can borrow? Need to stick it in the Cubs...they're done. (Great game last night though)
andy (vestal)
have fun getting swept by the angles yanks
David Amber (1:12 PM)
Hey Guys, great to haveyou along...We start with College football... Dari likes Tennessee to win the SEC... I think Florida could be the team to beat... let us know what you think...
Dustin (Rapid City, SD)
Tennesee will win the SEC and the National Championship!
Nathan (Delano, MN)
Florida will win Tennessee doesnt have a passing game!!!
Aaron (Lincoln, ne)
The return of Chris Leak should be enough to handle the Vols, especially in the Swamp.
Kevin (orlando)
I think Florida will win the SEC. Urban Meyer will lead to lots of wins this season!
Jeremy (Lowell,IN)
LSU is the best of the sec
andy (new york)
erik ainge will lead the vols to a championship
andy (new york)
erik ainge is winning the heisman
Chris (Omaha)
Give Florida another year or so. This year belongs to the Dawgs.
Manvir (Whippany)
Florida all the way
Chris (Buffalo, NY)
Florida-- with Leak continually developing and Meyer as the new head coach, Florida will easily win the SEC.
Richard Feurer (Kimberly, Idaho)
GO BOISE STATE. LOL jk but they rock. i think tenn
Dustin (Rapid City, SD)
Urban Meyer won't bring Florida back to the top.
Nick (Chicago, IL)
Florida is good enough to win the title, I just depends what Coach does with the team after what Zook did to destroy the program.
andy (new york)
does kentucky still have that hefty lefty guy???
Frank (Orlando)
This is the year South Carolina wins,GO Spurrier!!!
josh (boston)
tennessee is HORRIBLE
Matt (Ft. Lauderdale, FL)
I think Urban Meyer will bring the Gators to the next level. Zook was a fantastic recruiter, but he was not the right coach to bring the Gators to the next level. Meyer will bring them and they will win the SEC.
Denis ((Jacksonville))
Im a FSU fan so I hate the Gators, I think LSU will win the SEC.
Jared (chicago)
Hey DA, cant wait to see you and Barry Melrose on NHL 2Nite again.
stephen (burlington, nc)
Florida is a lock
Brad (Gadsden,Alabama)
Alabama will win sec
David Amber (1:15 PM)
Hey jared,We're talkiing pucks later in the show... stay tuned!!!
kyle (Los Angeles)
the sec is now irrelavent go USC!!!!!
Tim (Boston)
I HATE SOUTH CARLOINA
david (price)
myers will make florida a winner
Andy (New Hampshire)
I like Flordia in the SEC, but what about winning it all?
Matt(Jacksonville)
I am with you David I think the type of offense that Meyer brings to Florida should make them a big contender this year and I think in the end LSU and Tennessee will end up behind them. Chris Leak I think will be the main difference in the Gators record and performance.
Guy (Chicago)
LSU is just too fast for the rest of the SEC (and its a fast conference). Despite losing Saban LSU is the pick.
Nick (Chicago, IL)
Zook was too much of a players coach. He didn't disipline the players enough.
Dustin (Rapid City, SD)
Chris Leak won't be a finalist for the Heismen Trophy. Drew Tate will win the Heismen!
Kevin (orlando)
Who is Dari speaking to right now?
David Amber (1:17 PM)
Florida All-SEC OL Lance Butler... Florida is 6th on our Preseason Poll!
Aaron (Lincoln, ne)
LSU should be a bigger threat for the title than Tennesse.
Jeffrey (Baltimore)
It's the Big Ten's world this year, kids, the rest of y'all are just livin in it.
Victor (Miami,Florida)
There is no way Florida is going to beat miami. Florida has high expectations every year and they never come through
Guerin (Houston)
Lance, its a pleasure, There is a really huge buzz right now among the Gator nation about the upcoming year can you tell us about how the teams moral is and do they feel like something big is about to happen? Thanks and GO GATORS!!!!
Brian (Sherman Oaks, CA)
Lance, With the presence of new head gator Urban Meyer, what has been the biggest change in this offseason compared to previous ones? Thanks for all your hard work to make the gators champs in 05!
Mark (Little Rock)
You guys forget t hat LSU still hasn't decided who will play QB for them. You can't win the SEC title with no QB, not to mention a coach who is tinkering with the defensive scheme.
Ron B (Cincinnati)
"Tennessee isn't Vanderbilt"?? As a Vandy student, I'm insulted.
david (price)
i live in utah i watched what myers did wqith the utes. his leadership is all florida lacks to win it all
Mark (Vermillion, SD)
It won't matter who will win the SEC. The Trojans are on their way to another championship.
Chris (Omaha)
Man, I'm so sick of hearing about USC. Sooner or later, USC is going down. And it'll probably sooner rather than later. USC WILL NOT win the national championship this year.
Dustin (Rapid City, SD)
Wyoming will upset Florida! Then Florida will struggle the rest of the way.
Andrew (Lusk, WY)
Okay, so last year three mid-major teams were top-10 contenders. Seems like all these preseason top-10 polls forgot that.
VICTOR alexandria,la
lsu will win the national championship again and southern cal will eat there words.
Andrew Nashua,NH
Which is more important to Florida?Winning SEC or Beating FSU and Miami
Kevin (orlando)
who is on the show next?
THE PULSE (1:21 PM)
Desmond!!!
Ron B (Cincinnati)
Interesting choice of EA to put Desmond on the cover of their new college football game.
Nick (Chicago, IL)
woo-hoo!
Chris (Omaha)
Desmond Howard rocks!
Aaron (Lincoln, ne)
Rocked at Michigan and Super Bowl XXXI!!
Jared (Chicago)
Sorry to say Desomnd, your Wolverines will lose at least one game this year on September 10.
THE PULSE (1:25 PM)
Ooooh. Fightin' words.
Ron B (Cincinnati)
Desmond's Heisman pose was much better than Kellen Winslow's. Ha!
Derrick(Ann Harbor)
Desmond was the savior of that game Desmond thanks for the memories that you gave us. Go Michigan! Thanks again Desmond!
Andrew (Nashua,NH)
I still think of him more for his NFL carrer then his college.
Derek (Jamestown, ND)
Desmond Howard is one of the best Michigan players of all time
Aaron (Lincoln, ne)
You mean Kellen's motorcycle pose?
chris B.
Do you think that my boy Matt Leinart will kick everyone's butt again this year and roll out of New York with the harsware?
THE PULSE (1:27 PM)
Ooh. You guys are awful sassy today.
Nathan (Delano, MN)
Desmond, who are your top 5 heisman contenders?
THE PULSE (1:28 PM)
Sounds like Desmond is pretty high on Reggie Bush ... he likes your boy Matt Leinart too, Chris B.
Alan (Berkeley)
Reggie Bush Heisman
Jeffrey (Baltimore)
Reg-gie, Reg-gie
Derek (Jamestown, ND)
Matt Leinart is the man
phillip (jacksonville)
reggie bush is a great athlete.. best in the ncaa now
Shawn (New York, NY)
The Pulse, will any baseball anylists be on today to talk about trades?
THE PULSE (1:29 PM)
Yes sir, Buster Olney will be here shortly to talk about the trades.
Ron B (Cincinnati)
Of course Desmond likes Reggie Bush. Bush is extremely similar to Howard!
Guy (Chicago)
1) Leinart 2) Vince Young 3) Henne 4) Marcus Vick 5) Lendale White (Bush is getting hurt)
Nick (Chicago, IL)
I can see it now..... Vote Bush 2006!
Chase (East Meadow, NY)
Hey Desmond Howard, which did you like better, playing alongside Brett Favre or playing under Bill Parcells?
THE PULSE (1:30 PM)
Chase, he never played for Bill!!!
Andrew (Adrian, MI)
Desmond Howard, what felt better: winning the Heisman Trophy at my beloved Michigan or winning the Super Bowl MVP?
THE PULSE (1:31 PM)
Andrew's on TV now, he's got the right idea!!!
Nick (Chicago, IL)
ha-ha!
Keith (Southampton, NY)
lol he is thinking of terry glenn
Chris(Boston)
Desmond was a killer for us Pats fan in the 95 Super Bowl. We couldnt stop him regardless if it was on offense or Special teams!
Brandon (Etters,PA)
EA Sports could not of made a better choice.
Dustin (Sioux City, IA)
Desmond Howard is the greatest all time kickoff returner in both the NFL and NCAA.
Jeremy (Lowell,IN)
who's next?
THE PULSE (1:33 PM)
Sweet Pea! Pernell Whitaker. Former World Welterweight Champion
Francis (Hayward, CA)
The balance of power shifted in the middleweight division after Jermain's win over the Executioner. Even though he has all the belts, when will Winky Wright get the recognition he deserves? I believe that Winky should be the most feared fighter in the division and would like to see him in bigger fights soon. I'm hoping for a Wright-Taylor fight in the future.
Jared (Chicago)
I guess with a name like Pernell, you'd have to take up boxing as a kid.
THE PULSE (1:35 PM)
Or, he could just get a sweeet nickname!
Chris(Boston)
I dont know much on this topic so I am going to just watch this one
Rahshaun (Los Angeles )
We love sweet pea
THE PULSE (1:37 PM)
Ok ... if you're not a boxing fan, we've got a little something for you race fans up next ... Buddy Rice and Dale Jarrett will make an appearance. Indians Casey Blake is on the way ... John Steigenwald will talk about Sidney Crosby coming to Pittsburgh. Send in some questions for those guys if boxing doesn't float your boat!
Shaheed (Trenton,NJ )
Where is David Amber?
Memphis1 (calgary)
Pernell Whitaker, you're my role model and it's shame what happen towards the end of career, you always boxing most wanted, all the experts want to see you fail, but you rose up from that all and continue to dominated.
David Amber (1:38 PM)
What's up. I'm here... I'm interviewing Buddy Rice next. Keep watching!
Nick (Chicago, IL)
i hate fighting sports, though the WWE can get very funny sometimes, its still sick.
Larry (Richard) (Kimberly, Idaho)
i lost SOOOOOOO MUCH RESPECT for b-hop when he started whinning. YOU LOST tough. be like the champ you were just beat him in the rematch..... IF YOU CAN!
Aaron (Lincoln, NE)
Pernell won the gold medal at the 1984 Olympics.
Ryan (Minneapolis)
Was the Julioo Caesar Chavez "majority draw" the biggest letdown of Swea Pea's carear? Pernel was robbed!
Alan (Berkeley)
Cry me a river
Aaron (Lincoln, NE)
How often do we see these types of let downs in boxing. Seems to happen every year.
Victor (Miami,Fl.)
I can't believe people watch that junk.
Alan (Berkeley)
Boxing is all about upsets, Letdowns and corruption
Bryan (Marion Ohio)
What is the big time appeal with watching Boxing?
Joey
The gambling that comes with it. Nothing more, nothing less.
Phillip (Jacksonville, FL)
boxing is not on the up and up
Brent (Lewiston, ME)
Who's next?
andy (vestal)
pernell should have retire after he got destroyed by oscar de la hoya... he should of realized hes too old, he went on to lose the next 2 to trinadad, and carlos bojorquez
Dari Nowkhah (1:44 PM)
Buddy Rice is on ... IRL... Danica's teammate... Questions, thoughts, opinions... LET US HAVE 'EM
Matt(Jacksonville)
Pulse- Do you think that Buddy Rice has a bighter future than Danica or less?
Dustin (Rapid City, SD)
Danica Patrick is getting to much hype.
THE PULSE (1:45 PM)
Good question. Let's open it up to the room ...
Alan (Berkeley)
IRL isnt that some MTV show ?
THE PULSE (1:46 PM)
Always the jokester, Alan.
Bryan (Marion Ohio)
Best name in the IRL, Buddy Rice!
Phillip (Jacksonville, FL)
must be hard to have success but be overshadowed by a woman rookie
Dustin (Rapid City, SD)
Danica Patrick and Dale Jr. would make a perfect couple because they are both overrated and they get way to much tv time.
Aaron (Lincoln, NE)
funny, but Danica is bringing the sport to a new audience.
lee (tuscumbia, Al)
U guys think you can get him to admit danica is better?
Nick (Chicago, IL)
i agree. Danica is to much hype. i want winners in the IRL, not women in there just to "break ground"
Larry (Kimberly, Idaho)
do you thin danica needs all this hype? just because she's good, and a female?
Andrew (Lusk, WY)
Danica or no Danica, I still don't watch racing. Watching cars go around in circles over and over again is just not my cup of tea.
Mike (St. Louis)
Me and Danica would make a perfect couple.
Dari Nowkhah (1:49 PM)
Yeah Mike! It's important to have goals!
Terry (Milwaukee)
Danica Patrick will be, at most, a good trivia answer three years from now. Overhyped, overrated, and if people are going to get all crazy over a woman participating in a typically all-male environment, they should start focusing on Michelle Wie.
Aaron (Lincoln, NE)
Left turns on sunday
brandon(Ft. Lauderdale,Fl)
Danica is good for being a girl, but she will never win a big race.
Larry (Kimberly, Idaho)
if she were a guy shed get NO attention
Dari Nowkhah (1:50 PM)
Brandon, 4th at Indy... good for being a girl? come on... Good for anybody!
THE PULSE (1:50 PM)
That's the whole point Larry. She's NOT.
Shawn (New York, NY)
I'm not a race fan at ALL, and I have to admit, because of her a wacthed a couple minutes of Indy 500, since she was able to get me to tune in.
VICTOR alexandria,la
i think danica deserves to be on tv again.
Andrew (Lusk, WY)
I'll bet Buddy's probably heard enough about Danica too. Buddy's won, Danica hasn't.
Jeffery (Indiana)
Hey Buddy, it's supposed to be near 100 degrees on raceday. How does the heat affect the track conditions?
THE PULSE (1:51 PM)
You're on TV, Jeffery!
Jake (Costa Rica)
Danica can only help the sport
Larry (Kimberly, Idaho)
uh didnt she get 4th in indy 500??????????????? shes a rookie
Peter (Omaha)
Buddy, you and Vitor Meira visited with children from Camp Heartland at the IRL Fan Experience behind the grandstands on Friday afternoon. What was that like?
THE PULSE (1:51 PM)
You're on Peter!
Victor (Miami,Fl.)
Racing fans need a life.
Victor (Miami,Fl.)
Who wtaches this NASCAR junk.
THE PULSE (1:52 PM)
Sounds like motorsports can use any hype and tune-in incentives it can get, if you ask me.
Dari Nowkhah (1:52 PM)
Dale Jarrett next... Do you like seeing the older vets in the Chase? Not all 20-somethings!
Aaron (Lincoln, NE)
It's Indy not Nascar, come on your a sports fan!
Josh (Boulder)
For the last time -- Car racing is NOT a SPORT.
andy (vestal)
dale jarrets next baby!!
Shawn (New York, NY)
Who's Next?
Brent (Lewiston, ME)
Dale is the man
Aaron (Lincoln, NE)
Dale Jarret did start racing until he was 20 and all these others started when they were in diapers. That makes Dale a seasoned veteran.
Larry (Kimberly, Idaho)
dari do you want a 40 year old or a 20 year old to when *chase for the cup?*
Dari Nowkhah (1:54 PM)
Either way, both are good for the sport.
Dustin (Rapid City, SD)
I am a fan of most of the vetrans. I can't stand the "new" drivers like Dale Jr, Kyle Busch, Kurt Busch, and Martin Truex Jr.
Brent (Lewiston, ME)
I love seeing the older guys in the chase, espically Mark Martin and Rusty Wallace because it is their last season.
Andrew (Nashua,NH)
I'm one of those who watches it. Both Nextel and Busch Series racing are wonderful events.
mike (beantown)
I think they need to make the UPS car brown, like the truck
Dustin (Rapid City, SD)
Dale Jarrett is underrated! He gets no attention because Dale Jr. still all of it. Watch tomorrows race and every 5 minutes they will say, "look at Dale Jr." I wish ESPN would cover NASCAR again!
Dean (Statesville, NC)
Dale Jarrett, When you won the NASCAR championship in 1999 you were 1st in points from mid-May all the way to the end of the season in November. Currently your in tenth but still very much alive. Still, would a win in this format mean as much to you as your 1999 title?
lee ((tuscumbia, Al))
martin may be back
Brent (Lewiston, ME)
Thank you Dale for signing a card of mine. I have your father's autograph on the same card. It means a lot to me!!
Eamon (Olney, MD)
Dari Nowkah,I'm naming my fantasy team that!
Dari Nowkhah (1:57 PM)
Ha! I'd be honored!
Dari Nowkhah (1:57 PM)
As long as I get a share of your winnings.
Phillip (Jacksonville, FL)
haha dari the comedian
Jairus (Richmond)
Oh yeah and racing exemplifies the voyeurism inherent in our society. We just love when those guys crash into walls....
THE PULSE (2:01 PM)
Geez. We're getting philosophical in here today.
Jake Fields (North Hollywood, CA)
whens Buster coming on!!!
THE PULSE (2:01 PM)
Next!
Jake (Costa Rica)
Whos next guys
Derek (Jamestown, ND)
I love the Chase for a cup!!!!
Jeremy (Lowell,IN)
rusty dale or mark should run for president
Jeremy (Lowell,IN)
Dale, on nascar nation i saw you get to deliver a package what was it like being with kasey kahne?
THE PULSE (2:03 PM)
Aww, she had a crush on Kasey.
Jeremy (Lowell,IN)
dale, which is more important winning the brickyard 400 or making the chase?
David Amber (2:03 PM)
next up is Buster Olney... talking bsaeball trades... And the indians Casey Blake...Which division will the A-l Wilcard come from?
Jairus (Richmond)
I love the chase ......... for the Stanley Cup.
Ryan (Apopka, FL)
Have anyone on the Pulse that can get rid of this Florida heat?
Jake (Costa Rica)
Did i miss Hollis Thomas?
THE PULSE (2:04 PM)
Nope, he'll be here later on!!
Dari Nowkhah (2:04 PM)
Ryan, we can't help you. It's been cooking up here in New England too... ridiculous! Good to be inside the studio.
Bryan (Rockville)
Hey...sorry I'm late. Has Casey Blake been on yet?
THE PULSE (2:04 PM)
Nope, Casey on the way, too.
Shawn (New York, NY)
can I send my question now for Buster, or should I wait till his on?
THE PULSE (2:05 PM)
Send it in now! He's on the line!!
Jake: (Minnesota)
Buster,Which team will benefit more from the Ponson/Nevin trade made today?
THE PULSE (2:05 PM)
Buster will get to that, I'm sure. What do YOU guys think of the trade??
Brian Pelowski (New York, NY)
I love this trade for the O's. Ponson was a waste of space and now John Maine can get a chance.
Phillip (Jacksonville, FL)
Do you think The Orioles traded Ponson so they could take on the contract of say Mike Lowell?
Don (Baltimore, MD)
Why did the Orioles go after Nevin when they NEED a pitcher? Although getting rid of Ponson, don't you believe the O's will be getting a pitcher from somewhere soon?
Jose (San Juan)
Orioles will get the better deal... they get some pop in the offense. Ponson not so solid.
Frank (Orlando)
Its a good trade for both teams they get what they need
Nick (Chicago, IL)
I was actually surprised at that trade
Jared (Chicago)
I feel sorry for Ponson. Last year he was traded and now this year he is traded both to west coast teams.
Juan (Chicago)
Padres gets the nod
Nathan (Cypress, TX)
Great trade for both teams... Padres needed pitching... Orioles needed a 1st baseman so they can put Palmeiro on DH
THE PULSE (2:08 PM)
Padres agree to acquire Sidney Ponson for Phil Neven, acquire Joe Randa from the Reds.
Ryan (Apopka, FL)
Being a Marlins fan I'm not thrilled. I liked the package from Baltimore more than any other one.
Chris(Boston, MA)
I think Baltimore killed their chances of making the playoffs with this trade and I think with this trade San Diego could very well now have the best rotation in MLB but unlike a lot I dislike this move by the O's
Jake (Costa Rica)
Pads could get the better deal if Ponson gets back to his old self, the change of scenery could help him alot
Andy (vestal, NY)
wake me up when theres some interesting news, nevin to orioles ponson to padres whoppeee, how bout some real names, like soriano, dunn, burnett, lowell
Dari Nowkhah (2:09 PM)
Allright guys and gals... The Indians Casey Blake is next! Ask questions and get comments to see your name and thoughts on the "Instant Input!"
Jason (Erie, PA)
Since they traded Ponson, maybe they're close to closing the deal on Burnett.
Lorenzo (El Paso, TX)
New look Orioles infield- 1B Melvin Mora, 2B Brian Roberts, SS Miguel Tejada, 3B Phil Nevin and Palmeiro as DH- pitchers watch out
Jared (Chicago)
there goes the Twinkies chance at upgrading at 3B.
Nathan (Cypress, TX)
Another great trade for the Padres
Derek (Jamestown, ND)
The Padres are the big wiiners here
Alan (Berkeley)
Oriiols need to dump Sosa
Nick (Chicago, IL)
The rangers have the best young talent
Dustin (Sioux City, IA)
The Tigers have the best young talent. I am not just saying that because they're beating my beloved twins.
Don (Baltimore, MD)
Thank you O's for sending Ponson back to the west coast. Hopefully he stays there this time!
Brandon (Ft. Lauderdale)
Dari Nowkhah is the best espnews anchor
Chris (San Diego,CA)
Ponson seems to be an overpaid starter and Nevin looks to be another Sosa type hitter? How does this change the AJ deal Baltimore has been discussing with the Marlins now that the Orioles have an even larger hole in what is a lackluster starting staff even before the trade? Signed -- A concerned San DIego resident and Baltimore Orioles fan.
Chris(Boston, MA)
With the Padres getting Randa now it clearly makes them the winner iof this trade I think because i think that Ponson will do great in San Diego's ball park and I remember Ponson did decently well for the Gians and his ERA should improve. The problem Ponson had was the Red Sox and Yanklees were in his division i personally think Ponson and the Padres are the big winners
David Amber (2:12 PM)
Brandon,That hurts! But you're right Dari is a gentleman and a scholar
THE PULSE (2:12 PM)
Indians Casey Blake
Dari Nowkhah (2:12 PM)
Thanks Brandon! You da bomb!
Phillip (Jacksonville, FL)
David Amber is not too bad himself
Luke (Benicia,C-A)
the A`S have by far the best young talent
Bryan (Marion Ohio)
David Amber is my Hero!
THE PULSE (2:13 PM)
What do you think about Casey's Tribe making a run for the AL wildcard??
Brandon (Ft. Lauderdale)
you are also the best David
kirt (home)
GO David GO DARI you rock
Jake (North Hollywood, CA)
David Amber is the greatest by far!
Chris(Boston, MA)
I think Casey would be perfect for the Boston outfield and roster he seems like a loose going guy and I personally admire what he has done there in Cleveland.
Jake (North Hollywood, CA)
David Amber got game.
Bryan (Rockville)
Mr. Blake..Last season you averaged the most pitches per plate appearance in all of baseball. How did you teach yourself to be so patient, and do you pride yourself in having such a good eye?
Andy (vestal, NY)
hey casey im a big indians fan, what do you think you guys have to do to make a push at the playoffs?
Dari Nowkhah (2:14 PM)
Allright, enough Lovefest! Let's talk sports. But we do love all of you!
THE PULSE (2:14 PM)
C'mon, what do you think of the Indians chances??
Bryan (Marion Ohio)
I dont think Cleveland can make the wildcard with Minnesota and New York in from of them
chris severna park,md
i think they have absolutly no chance. GO YANX
anthony (everett,ma)
i dont see the indians in the palyoffs this year, but maybe in a year or two with some more experiance
Lorenzo (El Paso, TX)
Don't forget about Oakland
Brandon (Ft. Lauderdale)
I do not think the Tribe will win the wild card because the Yanks or the Red sox will win it
Casey Shea (Dayton,Maine)
I don't think they can make a run this year with the stocked AL, but there is promise for next season
Nathan (Cypress, TX)
They wont make the playoffs. Way to hard for them to beat the White Sox.
Phillip (Jacksonville, FL)
The indians are in a tough division with the consistent twins and the suprise pale hoes
Andrew (Lusk, WY)
The Twins can't score.
Jeremy (Lowell,IN)
minnesota won't make the playoffs either
Dustin (Sioux City, IA)
The Indians would need to make a couple of huge deals to get them back in the race.
Nathan (Cypress, TX)
The Red Sox/Yankees/Orioles will take the Wild Card and the White Sox got that division easily
Dustin (Ikes Fork, WV)
A's will get the wildcard.
VICTOR alexandria,la
david i did not hear a traded took place will you give me that information again?
Alan (Berkeley)
The only way Cleveland has a chance is becasue the Yankees are taking this season off.
Frank (Orlando)
They are staying home this year the White Soxs and Twins are going to the postseason
Joe (Hamilton)
Cleveland will lose to the Yankees, and lose badly!
David Amber (2:17 PM)
Phil Nevin for Sidney Ponson ... but Nevin has to OK it first.
Nick (Chicago, IL)
New york is not going to make the playoffs. the indians will win the wild card!
Eli (Pittsburgh)
The Pirates will make the playoffs before the Indians
David (Tucson, AZ)
This is an absolute steal for the Orioles, to get Phil Nevin for an overpaid ineffective pitcher is robbery, to me this doesn't make any sense for the Padres, they already have a solid rotation with Peavy, Stauffer, Lawrence, and Eaton. Pitching isn't the problem in San Diego, it's hitting, and they just let go of their best slugger.
Ted (Michigan)
If the Tigers can get on a run, they could be a force in the wild card
Andrew (Lusk, WY)
The Yanks can't stay in it. Their pitchers are too old and too inconsistent to keep this run going.
Aaron (Lincoln, NE)
The wild card will be a very close race all the way to the end of the season.
Dustin (Sioux City, IA)
The Twins need to stop saving money and go out and get some offense.
Rocky (New Waterford, Ohio)
Casey is one of the main reasons the Indians are slumping and yet Wedge still starts him. He needs sat, traded or released. Especially with the young talent we have in the minors.
anthony (everett,ma)
the yanks will be in it untill the redsox get thier bullpen fixed
Steven (Phoenix ,AZ)
I am a padres fan this trade with Phil Nevin couldn't get even worse there goes the divison! Let's just hope Nevin says no no and oh yeah NO!
Chris (Buffalo, NY)
Nevin will veto the deal -- he's not leaving the NL west leading PAdres to go to the 3rd place O's!!!!
Casey (Dayton,Maine)
Who cares about the Yanks...that team has no chemistry at all...nice pickups in the offseason George....GO SOX!!
Lorenzo (El Paso, TX)
Yankees can't pitch + Twins can't hit = A's win wildcard
Phillip (Jacksonville, FL)
winning the good guy award must be a real honor
Aaron (Lincoln, NE)
The yanks need to find talent instead of buy it.
Andy (Vestal NY)
hey casey, you were 0-5 yesterday, do you have any superstitons, are you going to change anything?,
Alan (Berkeley)
casey wake up and ahave a cup of coffee its almost game time
Andrew (Lusk, WY)
It's the A's or the Tribe in the AL Wild Card.
Dave (boston)
why are we talking about the indians? there horrible! let's talk trade rumors
Ryan (Apopka, FL)
I don't think that it's a slam dunk that Nevin okays this deal. I could easily see him declining.
Greg (Boston)
i love thew indians chances as the AL's dark horse. no one is giving them credit and their young talent will push them into the playoffs
Dari Nowkhah (2:22 PM)
Allright guys... talking Hockey... Penguins will take Sidney Crosby. That's huge!!
THE PULSE (2:22 PM)
Alright, it's time to talk hockey, let's switch gears!!
Eli (Pittsburgh)
number 66 the SECOND greatest player of all time
THE PULSE (2:22 PM)
Wow.
Brian (Orland Park)
First off I am glad to see the NHL come back and to allow the greatest ever Mario Lemieux another chance to perform greatness on the ice.
Mike (St. Louis)
When is the earliest that you expect Pittsburgh being a contending hockey team?
Eli (Pittsburgh)
Hey Stagie are you going to actually have faith in the Pens this year.
Dari Nowkhah (2:23 PM)
Man, he just blasted the Pirates! OUCH
Nick (Chicago)
I would have been happy wherever crosby went, but him going to the Penguins is great for the game, and it should bring good hockey back to Pittsburg
Phillip (Jacksonville, FL)
Go Bruins!
Brandon (Ft. Lauderdale)
The Avalanche will win the Stanley Cup
Aaron (Lincoln, NE)
Sidney Crosby is the Lebron James of Hockey. Quote that!!!
Steve (Dallas)
Bettman, you're fired.
Aman (British Columbia)
It's nice to see some hockey again. Especially with Crosby and Mario together, should save Pittsburgh and help out the NHL a lot!
Alan (Berkeley)
Hockey should be fined by ESPN for not having a season.
Dari Nowkhah (2:24 PM)
Alan, I don't expect us to fine the NHL! But not a bad idea.
David (Michigan)
The Red Wings have to cut their payroll in half. This should be a fun summer for GM Ken Holland!
chris (Howell, Michigan
John Steigerwald, Does Pittsburgh have enough to make the playoffs, with Mario and Crosby
lee ((tuscumbia, Al ))
Everyone blast the pirates.
Mike (beantown)
Jagr came into the league with lemieux and became a great player. Lindros didnt and look what happened to him.
Steve (Dallas)
After 310 days, the NHL is back. Bettman, you're fired.
Nick (Chicago, IL)
Tampa Bay rules! I don't like what they did over here in chicago.
Dustin (Ikes Fork, WV)
I can't name 15 players in the NHL
Eli (Pittsburgh)
Mario will move the team if they cant get a new arena get use to saying the SAN FRANCISCO Penguins
Joe (Hamilton)
Sidney Crosby will be lucky to surpass 60 points next season. He does not have an NHL sized body yet. I think that people should quit putting too much pressure on him to be the next Lemieux or Gretzky, because he will not live up to it.
Dustin (Rapid City, SD)
I think the salary cap will ruin the NHL!
Dari Nowkhah (2:26 PM)
Why Dustin. How would that hurt the NHL. It should keep ticket prices down, increase its fan base (in terms of going to games), and allow for every team to have a legitimate shot to win the Cup, unlike baseball.
Victor (Miami,Fl.)
I think majority of REAL sport fans where in favor of the lockout
Chris (Buffalo, NY)
No one should be making playoff predictions yet -- the entire roster of every NHL team will be different within the next two months.
Justin (Denver)
yes, your right dustin
Mike (beantown)
Sidney will have AT LEAST 60 points. Playing on the same line as Lemiuux. COME ON!!!
Justin (Denver)
But seriously, don't you guys love it when its 0-0 and someone scores the game winning goal with 1 minute left in the game?
Frank (Orlando)
Crosby and super mario will save hockey in Pittsburgh
Joe (Evansville, IN)
Crosby going to Pittsburgh is exactly what the NHL didn't want. They needed him in NY, LA, or maybe even Detroit. You can't have "the next Wayne Gretzky" in a small market when you trying to get back into the mainstream.
Ian (Holtzman)
The Penguins are in a position to pick up some good free agents, Crosby won't have to be great his first year.
Ted (Michigan)
If Crosby was really good, his team would have beat the London Knights.
Derek (Jamestown, ND)
Really how many of us are actually gonna watch the NHL this year?
Nathan (Cypress, TX)
NHL is already ruined. It doesnt get great ratings on television.
CHris severna park,md
GO COYOTES!
Ryan (Strongsville, OH)
I know Sidney Crosby is a HUGE grab for the Penguins, but unless they get some veteran help, the Penguins won't be going anywhere anytime soon.
Aaron (Lincoln, NE)
I concure
Eric (Pittsburgh)
Amen to that Dari. Only fans of the high payroll teams don't like the new CBA
Andrew (Lusk, WY)
They said the salary cap would ruin the NFL too. Funny how time changes things.
Brent (Lewiston, ME)
I don't think that Sidney Crosby is going to make an imediate inpact in the NHL. I used to watch him play up here in Lewiston and he is very streaky. Good first pick though.
kevin (cleveland)
Its great to see Sidney Crosby join the Penguins and save that team from financial ruin
James (Denton)
Yeah I'm ready for the Stars to win another Stanley Cup
mike (philadelphia)
i can speak for the city of philadlephia and i can tell you that there will be no problem with getting fans back to watch the flyers becaue in philadelphia the flyers are the 2nd favorite team only behind the eagles and ahead of the 76ers and phillies!!!go flyers and thank you for bringing hockey back!!!
Chris (SP,MD)
So John, who do you think will win the Lord Stanley's Cup this year?
Dustin (Rapid City, SD)
I think if the owners want to spend a lot of money then they should be able to. So if they want to spend 200 million plus a year to have every all star on their team then they should be able to do that. Now most teams can't afford more then 3 all stars.
Matthew (Iowa)
i think that the flames are the favorite to win the stanley cup
Derek (Jamestown, ND)
Minnesota Wild Baby!!!!!
Brian (Garfield)
imagine if the Rangers didnt make all those trades at the end of last season
Dave (Pittsburgh)
Lemieux - Crosby - MalkinWow.
Dari Nowkhah (2:28 PM)
Dustin, there's no way that's good for hockey... unless you're a fan of the Wings, Rangers or Avs.
Frank Antonoff (Hudson NY)
For casual hockey fans the rule changes might seem subtle, but for die hard fans, these are huge changes. How much say did the players have in these new rules? THey seem to really change the way teams will be coached even.
Adam (Pittsburgh)
NOT having a salary cap is ruining baseball
David (Michigan)
The salary Cap will definately ruin my Detroit Red Wings though! We were a powerhouse! We Could get all the old guys just like the Yankees! The Cap will kill the Red Wings and the name Hockeytown may fall with it.
Steve (Dallas)
Interesting fact... the Dallas Stars cut ticket prices by $30! Greatest. fan-friendly. team. ever.
Chris (Buffalo, NY)
How could a salary cap possibly ruin the NHL? Having no salary cap nearly killed the league altogether and would've if it wasn;t for the lockout
Andrew (Lusk, WY)
AVALANCHE!!!
Steve (Dallas)
The Avs are the Evil Empire of hockey.
Frank (Orlando)
It will work the cap will bring balance. oh yeah GO RANGERS!!!!
Eli (Pittsburgh)
The only thing that will save hockey here in pittsburgh will be a new arena and that doesnt look like it will happen soon
Austin (Utah)
Watch for the lightning to repeat, with basically the same team as 2 years ago... they should be unstoppable
Jared (Chicago)
i wish Crosby would have ended up with Columbus. Imagine a line with Crosby and Nash. Goals galore!
Earl (Victoria BC)
not to mention Recchi coming back, and rumors of Kovalev returning
Andy (Vestal NY)
do you believe in miracles yesssss! hockey is back better than ever!!!..
Earl (Victoria BC)
Crosby only helps the arena cause !!!
gp (nova)
won't the Pens getting Crosby actually make the team easier to move. their lease expires in 2007 and no arena is in sight
PENS FAN (LONDON)
LEMIEUX, CROSBY AND MALKIN... OH MY, IT'S OVER
THE PULSE (2:31 PM)
Alright ... changing gears!!
Chris (Philadelphia)
Hollis Thomas is going to be on the show?
THE PULSE (2:32 PM)
Right now!
Alan (Berkeley, Go bears)
Thomas what do you think about TO?
THE PULSE (2:34 PM)
Ahh. The million dollar question. Don't you think he's sick of the T.O. questions yet??
Andy (Vestal NY)
please ask him that question
Ted (Michigan)
Hollis, what do you think of the whole Terrell Owens situation?
THE PULSE (2:34 PM)
OK, OK, we'll get to it! Promise!
Jason (Manahawkin, NJ)
Terrell Owens is the biggest whiner in sports. Just shut up and play T.O. Or better yet, just go away.
Nick (Chicago, IL)
I would want T.O on my team even if he is a crybaby
Ryan (Apopka, FL)
Please no more TO questions. No one cares!
Jared (Chicago)
Hollis you need to lay the smack down on T.O. on his first play in practice.
Nick (Chicago, IL)
Even if T.O is greedy, he is still the best reciver in the NFL. Why wouldn't you want him?
Steve (Dallas)
T.O. and Rosenhaus are both idiots.
Phillip (Jacksonville, FL)
enough of T.O. I even get too much of it on local t.v.
Alan (Berkeley, Go bears)
Hollis can you guys win a superbowl without Owens?
Casey (Dayton,Maine)
TO is a punk, who doesn't deserve to play in the NFL. Professional athletes should feel privileged enough to play at that level for the ridiculous amount of money they make. Here's my words to TO...SHUT UP AND PLAY!
Chase (East Meadow, NY)
Hey Hollis, instead of asking about TO, which WR do you think will step up if Mr. Owens does not show up?
Ted (Michigan)
T.O. is on my fantasy team
Lorenzo (El Paso, TX)
the eagles knew what they were getting when they signed him
Chris (Omaha)
T.O. carries too much un-needed drama. Which is sad, becuase he's a fantastic player.
Dustin (Rapid City, SD)
But TO needs to supports his family. LOL
I HATE T.O
T.O. IS A GREEDY JERK
Jake (Clymer, NY)
He is embarassing the league
Andrew (Lusk, WY)
T.O. is not the Eagles and the Eagles are not T.O. Enough T.O. talk already!!
Derek (Jamestown, ND)
There are far better recievers in the league better the T.0.
Derek (Jamestown, ND)
The Eagles need to trade T.O. and move on
Derek (Jamestown, ND)
Randy Moss is the best Reciever in the NFL Bar None
matt (tampa)
i have a theory that he just has a really advanced sense of humor. that he views his entire life as a bizzare piece of performance art. i think he is funny, i get it, and it passes over most nfl fan's heads. he is the classic "heel" from the wresteling genre. get what im saying? he knows his part and plays it well
Josh (Cleveland)
TO is on my fantasy team too. I hope he plays like he did last year with no problems.
Phillip (Jacksonville, FL)
yeah they knew what they were gettin when they SIGNED him to play for that.they shouldn't still be dealing with this
Steve (Dallas)
62% of SportsNation wouldn't have T.O. on their team. Greatest. stat. ever.
al (wisconsin)
T.O. is a little greedy selfish baby, he is with a super potential team for the super bowl, and he is doing great, has lots a cash, and wants more money. i mean what cant you ask for more, cant be more money
Scott (Newtown, Pa)
Guys enough on T.O., they got to the NFC Championship game without him 3 times and they can do it again. But where do u guys think Ty Law will end up (i hope its the jags) it will help out their team and ticket situation
Lee ((Tuscumbia ,Al))
Eagles give T.O. a new contract I will take his old one.
Dude (Newark)
Rosenhaus needs to stop gloating about saving the drowning kid. A-Rod saved a kid from being hit by a car, and he hardly talked about it. Rosenhaus is loving the attention.
Steve (Dallas)
Rosenhaus is the worst. sports. agent. ever.
Jake (Clymer, NY)
Moss is as bad as (that guy) is Philly
VICTOR alexandria,la
hollis you need to punch t.o. in the nose i dont think nicholette sheridan has any right to drop a towel that is dumb.
Kerry Shelton (Middletown,DE)
T.O got some bad advice from Drew Rosenhaus. He has painted himself into a corner with the Philly fans. T.O had a chance to be an icon in Philadelphia, now we just see him as an idiot that we can't wait to be rid of. Philly is a blue collar town, don't tell us you can't take care of your family with a 49 million dollar contract while the regular folks who pay your salary have to live paycheck to paycheck. Any NFL team out there would be fools or totally desparate to want this guy on their team. He's a self centered, whiney trouble maker who only cares about T.O, not his team. If I were the Eagles I'd sit his butt on the bench and give him a real reality check.
Justin (Brighton)
Trade Terrel Owens for Marvin Harrison, let's see how Peyton deals with this drama queen
anthony (everett,ma)
all this talk about T.O. as the best reciever, i think by far its marvin harrison, then guy jus plays the game the way its suppose to be played
Jared (Chicago)
I'm glad T.O. was injured last year, at least we didn't have to see Andy Reid in spandex.
Dustin (Rapid City, SD)
Rosenhus thinks that his clients should make the most money in the league.
THE PULSE (2:41 PM)
Thank God.
Michael (Linden, NJ)
Terrell Owens words might come back to haunt him. Remember the MNF skit... "Ya'll gonna have to play this one without me"
Ben ((Philly))
Before you bash on T.O., consider this: the Eagles made T.O. sign a medical wavier making HIM responsible for all medical bills if he re-injured that ankle during the Super Bowl. So what did T.O. do? He signed it and played. Imagine Willis Reed doing that before he took the court during game 7 of the '70 finals.
Lorenzo (El Paso, TX)
T.O. better get ready to hear boos the second he steps on the field in any stadium including Philly
Brendan (Rockville, Md)
Rosenhaus is just doing his job, he's cocky, arrogant and gets the job done. Don't Hate him for that
Steve (Dallas)
The only good thing Rosenhaus has done all year is save the kid from drowning.
Derek (Jamestown, ND)
T.O is getting so much attention that everyone is forgetting about Javon Walker
Chris (Omaha)
Bottom line: Rosenhaus' clients get paid, no matter how questionable the methods.
Justin (Brighton)
Rosenhaus has a big big head
Chris (Omaha)
Holiis Thomas is a big, big dude. WOW!
D.J. (Memphis)
WOULDN'T YOU RATHER HAVE AN ANGRY T.O. , THAN NO T.O
anthony (everett,ma)
ask hollis what is opinion is on former teammate Freddie Mitchelll and his furute in the NFL
Dari Nowkhah (2:42 PM)
Hey... check out the tatts. Lots of quarterbacks and running backs have had those tatts around them!
Neil (Windsor)
Rosenhaus never played a team sport, or he would understand why this makes his players look so terrible
Andy (Vestal NY)
hey mr.thomas what inspired you to establish the Hollis Thomas Foundation?
THE PULSE (2:43 PM)
You're on.
Nick (Chicago, IL)
i'd like to thank my hands for being so great!
Casey (Boston, MA)
Falcons are gonna win the NFC. Bottom Line.
Brandon (Ft. Lauderdale)
How many pairs of Nikes do you have? What about Jordans?
Steve (Dallas)
McNabb just shouldn't throw to T.O. and then lets see how T.O. made the team feel.
THE PULSE (2:44 PM)
Dang. Hollis wears a size 14!
Larry (Las Vegas)
If I were the Eagles management, I would trade T.O. back to the 49ers. They should sent him to the worst team in the league and let he see how good he had it working with a team as good as the Eagles.
Jake (Costa Rica)
Great Question Andy
Jared (Chicago)
How many Tats do you have Hollis?
Tim (Burlington)
Hollis, how many piercings do you have??
THE PULSE (2:46 PM)
Over 1,000 DVDs. Geez. Hollis is quite the pack rat ... and proof that tats are addictive!
Tim (La Crosse)
Thats a lot of shoes
Ryan (Apopka, FL)
5 homes?! Geeeez
THE PULSE (2:46 PM)
He needs plenty of room for his shoes and DVDs
Dari Nowkhah (2:46 PM)
Hollis is GREAT!
Phillip (Jacksonville, FL)
funny guy!
Dayne (Dublin, GA)
Hey if I had his contract, Id splurge too!
Henry (Detroit)
Didn't anybody ever tell Hollis a big guy like him shouldn't wear horizontal stripes??
Tony (Gillette, WY)
Hollis Thomas seems like he would be a great teamate to have on your team! Hollis is my hero!
Cait (Philadelphia)
I don't want T.O on the Eagles anymore. He should be traded to another team. He's gonna cause nothing but problems for the city and team.
Bryan (Chicago)
Is that bling bling on your lip Hollis?
Alan (Berkeley, Go Bears)
Hollis, Putting Owens in his place.
Steve (Dallas)
T.O., come to Dallas!
Chris (Omaha)
I'd hate to make Hollis angry. That may be unhealthy.
Bryan (Chicago)
T.O. = Totally Overrated
Dari Nowkhah (2:48 PM)
Guys... Lauren Jackson is next! Stay tuned!
Ryan (Hartford)
Hollis was great!!
Phillip (Jacksonville, FL)
LAUREN'S NEXT!
Ted (Standish, Michigan)
ooh... Lauren Jackson
Ryan (Apopka, FL)
Met Lauren at the WNBA all star game and she towered over me and I'm 6'2
VICTOR alexandria,la
hey lauren.you go girl.
Chris (Vernon, CT)
For Lauren Jackson, Lauren is intelligent, beautiful and the best women's basketball player in the world; yet, she does not get the publicity or league-sponsored marketing that other players receive. Does Lauren think that the WNBA favors American born players in awards and marketing over International stars?
THE PULSE (2:52 PM)
Are you saying their is an Aussie consipiracy?? Gasp!
Andy (Vestal NY)
IM sorry ms.jackson i am for real never meant to make your daighter cry, i apologiz a million times
THE PULSE (2:52 PM)
Alright Andre.
VICTOR alexandria,la
lauren you get my vote for wnba mvp.
Ryan (Apopka, FL)
Gotta love that accent!
Eli (Pittsburgh)
Aussies are on a roll as of late the guy that won the WSOP is an Aussie
Gordo (Hoboken)
Lauren is chill
David Amber (2:53 PM)
Who wins 1 on 1... lauren jackson or Diana taurasi?
Dayne (Dublin, GA)
David, did you have fun with Hollis?
Rita (Wallingford)
Sandy Brondello, Tully Bevilaqua and now Suzy Batkovic, she always seems to have another Aussie with her in Seattle. The Kanga-Konection!!
David Amber (2:54 PM)
Dayne,Hollis is great... he needs to have his own talk show
Brendan (Rockville, Md)
Taurasi... she can hit it from anywhere
Gordo (Hoboken)
lauren no doubt
Steve (Dallas)
I would say it would be a tie.
Tim (La Crosse)
lauren
Ted (Standish, Michigan)
Lauren for sure wins
Mike (Grand Rapids, MI)
Jackson
Ted (Standish, Michigan)
Lauren take it easy on my Detroit Shock today.
Jared (Chicago)
she's hot
Kyle (Lake Zurich)
Lauren Jackson no question...shes got the height and the moves
Kenny ( (Sac))
Apples and Oranges - Inside vs Outside. You cant compare
Alan (Berkeley, Go Bears)
Lauren, why is Nicole Kidman your favorite Actor?
Derek (Jamestown, ND)
Diana Taurasi by far
Chris(Boston, MA)
I say Taurasi because she is younger faster and has better ball-handling! Though I think it would be a good matchup
Jen (Sun City, FL)
Lauren will serve diana
THE PULSE (2:55 PM)
C'mon! They both grew up on Vegemite sandwiches!
Steve (Dallas)
We love Lauren.
Ryan (Apopka, FL)
Thats tough. I'm gonna go with lauren because she can score inside over Diana.
Mike (Uncasville, Conn.)
Lauren, can you give us any scoop on Erin Phillips, the Aussie PG drafted by Connecticut this year? Does she want to play in the U.S. next year? Is she a pass-first kind of point guard, or more of a scorer?
THE PULSE (2:56 PM)
You're on, Mike!
Andy (Vestal NY)
i love taurasi she has talent, the only reason lauren jackson is in the WNBA is because shes like 6'8, heck iif hilary clinton were 6=8 shed be in the wnba
Jordan Raygoza (Corning, California)
Lauren Jackson was a star at Tennessee, now at Seattle she's owning the WNBA
David Amber (2:56 PM)
Gotta love that Aussie accent!!
THE PULSE (2:56 PM)
Jordan, what are you talkin' about?? Lauren didn't go to Tennessee!!!
Dayne (Dublin, GA)
Look at Dari pulling a love connection moment
David J. (Ithaca, NY)
If Seattle was willing to loan you out for a season, what other WNBA city would you like to experience?
THE PULSE (2:57 PM)
You're on, David. And Lauren is leaning towards, Phoenix!
Nick (Chicago, IL)
ha-ha
Keith
She said 'mate'! Awesome!
Eli (Pittsburgh)
Dari has a crush
Phillip (Jacksonville, FL)
nice gal
THE PULSE (2:58 PM)
That's 'shelia' to you, Phillip. I reckon she could throw you on the barbie.
Andy (Vestal NY)
dari was blushing
Nick (Chicago, IL)
who up now?
THE PULSE (3:00 PM)
We're going to cut to Mario's news conference, and then we're going to have Rick Wilson the Dallas Stars coach talking hockey.
Ryan (Apopka, FL)
Rick Wilson on the Pulse! Yes! Doesn't get much better for us Stars fans! Hockey is back!!
Gordo (Hoboken)
super
Tim A. (La Crosse, WI)
I think i'm actually going to watch hockey this year.
Dari Nowkhah (3:03 PM)
Come on guys... how cool is it being called Mate by Lauren Jackson! Ha! But I wasn't blushing!
Eli (Pittsburgh)
Lauren Nowkhah has a nice ring to it
Ryan (Apopka, FL)
I blushed when i met her and all she did was say hi to me.
THE PULSE (3:05 PM)
Alright. now that we've given our due respects to Lauren Jackson, let's move on!!
Roy (Byesville, OH)
Dream rookie season? Crosby plays with Lemieux. Student and Teacher.
MIKE (MURRIETA CA)
Dari You need to get ANDY MURRAY COACH OF THE LA KINGS ON THE PULSE
Andrew (Lusk, WY)
If anybody here doesn't like hockey they should just go watch a game in person and it'll change their mind.
Neil (Windsor)
Sidney Crosby is a child...17 years old...he will be playing against men. He will need to adjust to the speed and strength possessed by most NHL'ers. He will not save any team for a few years.
Brendan (Rockville, MD)
All this talk about sidney crosby and i gotta wonder what everyone thinks of Alexander Ovecheckin the kid the Caps Grabbed at No. 1 last year? wasnt he supposed to be the "russian Gretzky"
Jordan (Corning,CA)
Sidney Crosby will be the next Gretzky!!!
Justin (Brighton)
yay!
MIKE (MURRIETA CA)
KINGS GONNA WIN THE CUP!
Bryan Arbutron (Chicago)
An unknown player (Sidney Crosby) cannot save an unknown league
Hank (Apple Valley, Ca)
Sidney Crosby will be a great player. However, why are people referring to him as the next Gretzky or Lemieux? Do people really think he will be better than those two?
Matt (Orefield)
I think Sidney Crosby will be another Kovalev. He'll be extremely talented but may not be able to lead the team the way a Lemieux, Gretzky, or Messier did.
Cliff (San Diego)
The Penguins can get a top line defenseman now with offensive skills, something they haven't had since Larry Murphy, plus Kovalev might come back. With the rule changes, they will contend this year barring injuries.
Eli (Pittsburgh)
there will NEVER be another Gretzky. Just like there will NEVER be another Jordan or Ruth
Ryan (Apopka, FL)
Ovechkin is underrated. He dominated against better competition than Crosby did.
Joe (Evansville, IN)
I'm not sure about the Lemieux/Crosby connection. It might end up being a Michael Jordon/Kwame Brown situation.
Earl (Victoria)
Crosby has more of a Peter Forsburg or Keith Tkachuk type game. As for Ovechkin, he is more of a finisher than Gretzky. Malkin comparisons to Gretzky are more acccurate.
Bryan Arbutron (Chicago)
We'll never know if Crosby will be as good as them. Hockey will be bankrupt in the next 5 years.
Chris (Omaha)
Wasn't Lindros suppossed to be the next Gretzky?
Omaha, NE
Finally Hockey has come back!!!!
Andy M (Vestal NY)
keep hockey in Canada
Alan (Berkeley, Go Bears)
Hockey in California doesn't mix
Alan (Berkeley, Go Bears)
The only reason Hockey is surviving in southern California is because they dont have an NFL team
MIKE (MURRIETA CA)
I AM GLAD SIDNEY WENT TO PIT INSTEAD OF SOMEWHERE IN THE WEST. THANK GOD DIDN'T WANT HIM ACCROSS THE ICE AGAINST THE KINGS
Casey (Dayton,Maine)
Lindros gave hockey a black eye by refusing to play in Quebec, I bet Ohilly is kicking themselves now for giving up Forsberg in that deal.
Derek (Dallas)
Gretz was thrown into an allstar lineup when he started, Crosby was thrown to the lions so I'm gona be the 4% who say he will be a bust
Eli (Pittsburgh)
Just like Leaf was going to bring the Chargers to multiple Super Bowls
THE PULSE (3:12 PM)
Geez. Sidney Crosby to Ryan Leaf. No way, no way this kid is a bust in my Pulsing humble opinion.
Eli (Pittsburgh)
That is what he is being built up as in teh same way Ryan Leaf was. Comparing him to Gretzky or Lemieux no one can live up to them
Earl (Victoria)
Lemieux and Recchi aren't exactly bums in the NHL. Crosby has less pressure than many 1st overalls - Nash has to carry the load in Columbus, Fleury/DiPietro need to start playing huge. Pittsburgh will have enough talent to ease The Kid in.
Dayne (Dublin, GA)
Dari,David, what do you think about Sidney?
Dayne (Dublin, GA)
I feel sorry for Ryan Leaf, he is the punch line to all jokes
David Amber (3:15 PM)
Guys...Leave Dari alone... He's very sensitive...Which Nhl player do you think Sidney Crosby will be most like... I think he has the make up to be just like Rick Nash... Strong to the net with all sorts of scoring touch... but a better passer
Dari Nowkhah (3:15 PM)
Dayne, I don't know how good he'll be. But at the very least... his hype is something hockey really needs! A reason for people to watch.
Brendan (Rockville, Md)
Any comparison to Gretzky or Jordan arent fair... too much pressure not even LeBron or Sidney Crosby will stack up. They are the best of their generations and arguably the best ever. Everyone else can try and they may be great but the Gretzky's and Jordan's have this charm that is unmistakable we'll have to see if Crosby can live up to the hype
Ryan (Rochester, NY)
Mario was thrown to the lions too, he turned out OK
Andy (Vestal NY)
a fallen leaf, followed by a brees of fresh air
Aaron (Portland)
I'm so stoked about the Pens this year. Crosby, Lemieux, Malone, anyone remember they signed Recchi too? Then throw in Tarnstrom (who lead them in points last season, a D-man btw), put Fleury back in net, add some more vets and there is reason to be excited about this team!
Eli (Pittsburgh)
the kid is being over hyped if he doesnt become a superstar it will be a huge letdown
Casey (Dayton,Maine)
Crosby is going to flourish under the tutilage of Mario and Recchi, there isn't a better fit in the league for him.
mike phoenix az
lets ot get carried away and compare crosby to any of the all time greats!
MugenSilverSiR (Richmond Hill, ON)
without the clutching and grabbing like how gretzky had it before, crosby will excel.
Dayne (Dublin, GA)
Sidney will be like Paul Kariya
John (Portland, OR)
The Pens could very well be an All-Star lineup by the end of next week, with free agency and now the will to be good (Crosby and a new arena), they should look at Kovelev and a few others. With Malkin, Recchi and Mario, they are on their way.
Eli (Pittsburgh)
Dont get me wrong i want to see the kid be great but saying he is the next Gretzky or Lemieux is crazy you have to remember the kid is still 17
MugenSilverSiR (Richmond Hill, ON)
You can't deny that Crosby is something special.
GILBERT (SPRINGFIELD.MASS.)
SIDNEY CROSBY HAS NOT PLAYED A GAME IN THE NHL! TO CAMPARE HIME TO GREATNESS IS LUNACY
Steve (Dallas)
Crosby is the next Gretzky.
Jared (Chicago)
Rick Nash is a cool cat.
Jordan (Corning,CA)
He'll be in the league a long time, so I can see him the all-time leading goal and points leader.
Casey (Dayton,Maine)
Anyone else see that the Pens are looking to bring back Straka too? It's going to be a Pens reunion this year!!
Roy (Byesville, OH)
How cool is it to see Reechi in a Pens uniform?
Dari Nowkhah (3:19 PM)
Rick Wilson is next! Assoc. HC of the Stars... HOCKEY is BACK! Let's go!
MugenSilverSiR (Richmond Hill, ON)
Don't forget Marc Andre Fleury...hes got lightning quick reflexes.
James (PA)
I hope that getting someone like Crosby can help the Pens get a new arena, something they desperately need. Crosby and Lemieux playing together will put people in the seats every night.
Chris (Omaha)
At the very least, Crosby will have the perfect mentor.
Roy (Byesville, OH)
Sounds like Crosby is supposed to be Hockey's Savior.... too much for a kid to handle.
Ryan (Rochester, NY)
The Pens need to bring back Kasparaitis and then they will be the best again, Darius is the best!
Dutch (Cape Coral, Fl)
Sidney aint going to be anyone like a Steve Yzerman or Wayne Gretzky, come on he's just a talented teenager... Ask that question the second he does something other than dominant College players! Let him win three scoring titles or help win a championship, until then lets just wait and see if he aint just another Dwight Howard, but for the NHL!!!
John (Portland, OR)
Crosby is the next Crosby, give him a chance.
Earl (Victoria)
Only Mario had a better Junior career. Sid the Kid had better production than Q legends Guy Lafleur and Mike Bossy - and those guys played in a VERY offensive era.
Brendan (Rockville, Md)
I personally am a fan of Rick Nash... i think he's got a brighter future than crosby
MugenSilverSiR (Richmond Hill, ON)
Whats everyones favourite team?
Aaron (Portland)
How long did it take for Kovalchuk and Heatley to tear it up in Atlanta? The Pens will get Crosby, and they already have Malkin (assuming he gets out of his Russian contract) and Ryan Malone, that's 3 potential offensive superstars! Kinda like way back when it was Lemieux, Jagr, and Kevin Stevens. Holy Crap!
Michael (Linden, NJ)
Sidney Crosby has the same amount of goals as Bing Crosby and Bill Cosby combined. Zero. Let him play a game first before we make him the savior of the NHL.
Steve (Dallas)
Rick, great work here in Dallas! Should Bettman be fired for fighting for the owners? See you on October 5!
Andy (Vestal NY)
bubba and bobby crosby will have a bigger impact in baseball than sidney will have in hockey, he has bust written all over him
Ryan (Apopka, FL)
Question for Rick---Mr. Wilson do you expect the team, especially the younger faster guys to flourish with the new rules? And also do think the goalie rules will take away some of Marty's puck skills? Thanks!
Ryan (Rochester, NY)
Penguins
Steve (Dallas)
I can't wait until the the Stars win the Cup again.
James (TX)
go stars.
Ben (Los Angeles)
Crosby will be good but only time will tell if he'll be great. No one could imagine Gretzky or Mario becoming what they bacame at the time; Yeah theres a lot of hype but there always is. Have fun with it and hopefully he does fill those shoes; If not i'm sure someone else will get hyped the same way down the road as well
Chris (Omaha)
Exactly Michael.
Steve (Dallas)
I can see Crosby passing 750 goals.
Brendan (Rockville, Md)
C-A-P-S! CAPS! CAPS! CAPS!
Steve (Dallas)
Stars fans are the NHL's best.
Andy (Vestal NY)
are we still talkin about hockey?? geez
Jakob Marley (Costa Rica)
Brendan its J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS
MugenSilverSiR (Richmond Hill, ON)
Personally I love my Leafs =o) Go Leafs go!
Jake(Minnesota)
All there is to say... Will the Minnesota Wild bring back Mike Modano?
MIKE (MURRIETA CA)
PACIFIC DIVISON BELONGS TO THE KINGS!!!!
Ryan (Rochester, NY)
I hate the Crapitals
Andy (Vestal NY)
steve you mean star fan, cuz ur probably the only one
MugenSilverSiR (Richmond Hill, ON)
Steve, will your fans come out if your team loses?
Earl (Victoria)
Too bad for the Caps their highest paid player will probably be the 4mil they owe for him to play for the Rangers
Finnie (Michigan)
The red wings have the a lot of talent left and lots of great younger players, and are the team to beat in the new NHL
Joe (Evansville, IN)
Steve, you have got to be kidding! St. Louis fans are the most knowledgable, respectful, and near the top of passionate of any team in the NHL.
MugenSilverSiR (Richmond Hill, ON)
SWEET a costa rica hockey fan =o)))
Brian (New York)
You can even compare Crosby to #99. He hasnt played a second of NHl yet.
Casey (Dayton,Maine)
The Red Wings are going to lose half of their team to get under the new cap so I have no idea where you're coming up with that Finnie.
Dayne (Dublin, GA)
The Pulse says that there is interest in hockey again, but can it last?
MugenSilverSiR (Richmond Hill, ON)
Trust me guys, with all the obstruction gone, the game will be faster and more exciting to watch...thats where Sid comes in...
Brendan (Rockville, Md)
you cant say there is a team to beat yet... half the teams dont have more than 10 players under contract... wait a week or two and then we'll see how things are stacking up
MIKE (MURRIETA CA)
RICK WHAT ARE THE CHANCES OF MODANO RETURNING TO DALLAS????
mike (phoenix)
id like to see modano in phoenix!
Phil (Montreal)

Chris (Omaha)

Rob (long island)
ueah he likes to yell
Calvin (Clearwater, FL)
The thrill of fishing-what is that? Swimming with a great white that wants to have you for dinner-that might be thrilling.
Roy (Byesville, OH)
Mike will fish with Crosby in the Pro-Am tourney in Pittsburgh.
dave sheehan (braintree, ma)
im going to switch the topic, the bass fisher mike iaconelli is really great, i love his game. hes a real pro with a great sense for the sport. some people dont think fishing is a legitament sport but it is. you have to be skilled to be a bass fisher to catch the fish that win you a tournament. plus you have to have a a lot of patience to wait for the big one. Overall i believe mike iaconelli should get more respect
Earl (Victoria)
Fishing is cool !! Grew up on Ontario, caught many a walleye and speckled trout in my day
Kim (Port Jeff)
Hey Mike Iac -- are you this animated in all that you do or is it just fishing that really gets your emotions going?
Brendan (Rockville, Md)
he was fun to watch, but i cant really get into fishing
Michael (Linden, NJ)
Think Mike Iaconelli can bring fishing and Hip-Hop together with his break dancing?
Calvin (Clearwater, FL)
He's from NJ, he cannot be all bad.
Jakob Marley (Costa Rica)
If i was those guys, Id have a bottle of Moonshine on the boat
Dayne (Dublin, GA)
He loves him some him!
lee ((Tuscumbia))
I like fishing but not watching someone else fish.
Ian (Mahwah, NJ)
Ha! He'd be a DJ!!
Earl (Victoria)
How does someone from Jersey grow up fishing? Is there anything that you would eat out the water in a 100 mile radius?
Brendan (Rockville, Md)
Oh New Jersey... so many things could be said.
Ryan (Apopka, FL)
Wonder how many hard core rap fans there are on the BASS tour
Joe (Evansville, IN)
I find to be improper fishing manners when the scream and do whatever after completing the pedestrian task of catching a fish. Aren't they scaring the fish off for everyone else?
Ben (Saginaw, Michigan)
this guy is one crazy dude
Roy (Byesville, OH)
Hey Mike? Can you swing a baseball bat?? The Pirates need help!!
Phillip (Jacksonville, FL)
he would be a rad DJ too. seems like a cool guy
Chris (Omaha)
This guy is carzy insane. I love it.
Andrew (Lusk, WY)

Casey (Dayton, Maine)
ESPN's MLB2K5 is the best game out there right now!!! Great job guys!!!
Earl (Victoria)
EA Sports NHL series is by far the best sports games on the market. Even non-NHL fans seem to buy this game consistantly.
