Chat with Buzzmaster!
But we also like to hear what you think, and we want to let you hear what fans in other parts of the country think. So sometimes we'll just let Buzzmaster or ShowGirl loose for an hour or two to talk sports with the citizens of SportsNation Join Buzz on Wednesday to talk about whatever is on your mind.
Buzzmaster (11:48 AM)
Hellooooooooo! We'll get this party started at noon ET .. get your lunch and hang out in The Show!
Paul (Portland, OR)
Buzz, Buzz...again, it's only lunchtime on YOUR end of the country!
Shawn (Vegas(Sioux Falls))
Can we go back to the abstract chat that is normal Buzz. Yesterdays chat was way to deep for me. If I wanted the news, I would read the news. I come here to laugh and for Mind-Blowing chatter! Thanks!!
Buzzmaster (12:04 PM)
Yes, abstract it is ...
John (Cincinnati)
I'd like to second Shawn's motion.
Los (Boston)
Cano and Rafael at the same time???!?? Not following.
Buzzmaster (12:06 PM)
Hey Los.. yeah, things have sort of been tweaked around today ... Cano was going at noon but MLB called a mandatory meeting so he had to push back to 1 ET .. same time as Rafael .. soooooooo .. because he is a special guest, Cano will have top billing and be in the main window .. if you want to take part in the Rafael chat, just click on his name in the lineup.
Dave (Tampa)
What's for lunch today Buzz?
Buzzmaster (12:09 PM)
Cafateria pizza. Exciting, huh?
Doug P. (Mooresboro, N.C.)
Pizza and doritos with a side of buzz
Teddy (NYC)
what was the MLB special meeting for?
Buzzmaster (12:11 PM)
We can ask Robinson.
Los (Boston)
I just had reheated chicken from last night. yum.
Cayne (Federal Way, WA)
Buzz, I really didn't like my recent haircut... But then it grew on me! (Get it? Haircut, grew on me...)
matt (boston)
will our questions carry over to robinson from yesterday????
Buzzmaster (12:14 PM)
Sure. But never hurts to send them again.
Joe (Billings, MT)
I'm fine with irrelevant chatter, but please don't tell me we're going to spend the hour trading guacamole recipes!
Alex (Halifax)
Buzz, if you could be, or have the powers of, any super hero who would it be?
Buzzmaster (12:15 PM)
Wilt Chamberlain's mojo.
David (New York)
So a grasshopper walks into a bar, and the bartender says, "You know, we have a drink named after you," and the grasshopper says, "Really?! You have a drink named Paul?".....HAHAHAHAHA
Brian (Haverhill,MA)
Do you guys have an ESPNzone for a cafe?
Buzzmaster (12:17 PM)
Not quite. But it does have a video game station and it opens up onto a full-size hoops court with stands and a scoreboard.
Giggsy O'Shea (CT)
I got asked to go check out a scanning machine during lunch...what the heck?? This is the only thing I have going for me during the work day. Color me not pleased!
Buzzmaster (12:18 PM)
What are you scanning?
John (Cincinnati)
Is it the cafe that has been shown on some of the This is Sportcenter commercials? Because that looks like a rather lively place, one that I'd like to hang out in and talk to random mascots that walk in to.
Buzzmaster (12:20 PM)
Yeah, same one. But it's been "remodelded" since then. Although for a remodel, it looks surprisingly the same.
Benji (Cedar Falls, IA)
A skunk sat on a stump and thunk the stump stunk. But the stump thunk the skunk stunk.
Prince (Pittsburgh)
Buzz, can I go home? I don't want to work anymore.
Buzzmaster (12:22 PM)
Yes, but not until you finish those reports .. and clean up your desk for goodness sake ..
Jeff (Iowa)
Buzz, what's the weather like at the home of the World Wide Leader? It's 100 here in the Midwest today.
Buzzmaster (12:24 PM)
It's perfect ... sunny .. hot .. not too hot ... no wind ... Buzz might have to bail as well .. if this chat goes dead all of a sudden, you'll know why ..
Lee (NY)
What is on your desk, Buzz?
Buzzmaster (12:26 PM)
A stack of ESPN Magazines, a football with the ESPN logo and our "mission", a dictionary, a USA Today, a TV, media guides ... now had you asked what was IN Buzz's desk ...
Paul (Portland, OR)
On an actual serious note, when any of you get the chance, go to Page 2 and read Simmon's latest column. It's quite good and thought-provoking.
John (Cincinnati)
I'm gonna guess there's a minifridge somewhere in the vicinity of Buzz's desk.
Buzzmaster (12:29 PM)
Full size. Mini is for pansies.
Bo (AL)
What's in your desk, Buzz?
Buzzmaster (12:32 PM)
Stuffed mascots, many free T-shirts, M&Ms, local restaurant menus, a Shelfball (remember Shelfball?), Reese's Pieces, many free hats, an old Whiskeytown CD .. and paperclips.
Jonboy (Atlanta)
How long is Robbie Cano going to be on here for? Until 2?
Buzzmaster (12:33 PM)
Probably more like 30. Just depends on his schedule and what the teams asks him to do.
Jason (Chitown)
What are we doingf here Buzz, this is ridiculous. Cano what we really need to do is talk about something important like why is pizza so damn good.
Buzzmaster (12:35 PM)
It really is the perfect food when you think about it. You can eat it with your hands .. you could put whatever toppings you want on it .. you can adjust the crust to your liking .. you can eat it cold or hot .. it's just perfect.
Kevin ( (Seymour, CT))
Next to this chat, I'm lookin forward to Rovell on that Adidas/Reebok deal. Imagine if you had a ton of stock in Reebok? I'd buy an NHL team and bring the Whale back to Hartford.
Jeff (Iowa)
Pizza is one of God's perfect foods, because it contains several of the major food groups. It's right up there with pizza rolls, ravioli, etc.
Buzzmaster (12:36 PM)
Buzz has been partial of late to the Stouffers frozen pepperoni. Give it a try.
Lee (NY)
Lets not forget that pizza is foldable, a noble characteristic.
Buzzmaster (12:37 PM)
Yeah, that's another thing. You can shape it to your liking .. fold it, make it round, make it square, etc.
Hack (East Haven, CT)
Buzz go down to Wooster St get yourself some real pie.
Buzzmaster (12:38 PM)
Pepe's!
Godish (Chicago)
Are you talking about the Stouffers French Bread pizza?
Buzzmaster (12:38 PM)
Yes. Two to a box.
The Dish (Carol Stream,IL)
Pizza really has been perfected. You don't even need to leave your house to get it. Someone will bring it to you. God bless pizza deliverymen.
Buzzmaster (12:40 PM)
And you always have a coupon! It's always on sale!
Jonboy (Atlanta)
Hey Buzz.... What's going on with the double booking of Dan Rafael and Robbie Cano? Sorry if you have already touched on this.
Buzzmaster (12:41 PM)
Already been addressed ..
Patrick (City of Angels and Smog)
You gotta love the names of pizza places... for some reason, I hear something like Vinny's Pizza, and I just have to trust it
JP (NY)
Hey Buzz, can we skip Dan Rafael and boxing. I mean is there any sport that has fallen as far as boxing? I don't even know how they rank these guys and how many Champs are there? I think there is One Per Pound!
Buzzmaster (12:43 PM)
Actually, Rafael draws a pretty big crowd.. he has quite a following from his days with USA Today.
Joe (Billings, MT)
Did Robinson Cano really NEED two days of chats? He's a rookie, what does he really have to say and what do we want to know about him that will actually take two hours?
Buzzmaster (12:46 PM)
Calm down Joe .. he has to cancel yesterday .. so today is his first chat.
A-Rod's Lip Gloss (Naugy, CT)
Why is Scoop Jackson so angry?
Buzzmaster (12:47 PM)
Hmm.. we'll he'll be visiting The Show tomorrow at 1 ET to talk about Page 2's Soul of Sports .. suppose you could slip that question in.
Jason (Chitown )
Scoop Jackson calls Chicago racist because we boo a manager that does not know how to manage. This guy is just trying to be the next Stephen A
Andy (NY)
Yeah! Why is Dusty Baker so overrated? He is terrible!
Dave (Tampa)
Seriously. SJ referenced Ralph Wiley in his article..seems like he figures that's the best way to get his name out there...compare himself to a great writer who he'll never be as good as
Buzzmaster (12:51 PM)
Ouch!
Josh (Omaha)
Thanks for bringing up Stephen A. Buzz, is he like that all the time, or just when he's on the air? I'm surprised he hasn't been smacked a time or two in his career.
Buzzmaster (12:51 PM)
Most everyone you see on TV is pretty much the same way in real life. No actors around here.
Buzzmaster (12:52 PM)
OK, hang tight, we're going to wrap things up here to get ready for Mr. Cano .. if you sent a question yesterday, it's still there. But you might as well send it again ...
