Send in your questions now, and join them on Thursday at 1 ET (Booker at 1 ET, followed by Washington at 1:30 ET) for all the answers.
Buzzmaster (12:52 PM)
Helloooooooo! Any Noles fans out there? Thought so! Lorenzo Booker will be coming up first at 1 ET. Then Leon will join us at 1:30 ET. Get your questions ready!
Lorenzo Booker (12:57 PM)
I am here and ready to go!
Brian Naples
Who is faster btwn Lo and Leon? Who is stronger?
Lorenzo Booker (12:59 PM)
I'm a little faster but he's a little stronger. It all even outs. That's why we can keep people off balance. Obviously Leon can run away from people and he showed that last week. But I'm faster and he's stronger.
Hunter, Tallahassee, FL
What kind of leadership is Drew Weatherford bringing to the team and how has his leadership improved from the Miami game?
Lorenzo Booker (1:01 PM)
He has drastically improved every week. On Wednesday we have one-minute drills against the defense. We try to drive and score a TD or FG. Yesterday we drove down in 3 plays. He put the ball exactly where it needed to be. AJ Nicholson and everyone was really excited about how great we played. Drew is playing at a great level right now. He's making great reads. It should be pretty scary for other teams because we are only at about 80 percent right now in terms of what we can do.
D'Andre - Orlando
What is your favorite play when your number is called? (Thanks for playing at Florida State !!)
Lorenzo Booker (1:02 PM)
Probably the new screen that we put in .. not the flare screen Leon and I scored on but the T screen .. we just turn around and they throw it and we run! As soon as we get it we're in the open field where we operate best.
Paul, Springfield VA
Hey Lorenzo, why isn't FSU using you as a Punt Returner? You are just like Reggie Bush and I could see you breaking some long ones!
Lorenzo Booker (1:03 PM)
I never really did special teams here. And to be honest, I probably won't. We've got other guys who have done it longer and are probably better. We just feel like we get enough touches already to make good things happen.
Amy
Is it true Bobby never curses in the locker room when speaking to the players - even when we're loosing?
Lorenzo Booker (1:03 PM)
I've heard him curse. But it's just one word. Even then it's not a real bad word. I can count on one hand how many times in four years Ive heard him curse. Usually it's when he's really fired up but not necessarily mad.
Zach Charlotte NC
Lifelong Nole fan, live and breathe with every snap. Lorenzo, what was it like to be featured in ESPN the magazine?
Lorenzo Booker (1:05 PM)
Actually I didn't know what the topic was until I got there. Even then I had to keep asking "What is this for?". They asked me to do all kinds of weird poses. I didn't understand until it came out. But it was cool.
Jared (Atlanta)
Are you dating both of the Booker Twins? If not can I have the other ones' number??? Yowza!
Lorenzo Booker (1:05 PM)
Just one! I don't think the other one would be too happy if I gave out here number!
Alexandria, VA
How do you feel going into UVA after a few weeks of lower caliber teams?
Lorenzo Booker (1:07 PM)
I wouldn't call them lower caliber, esp. Wake Forest. The score didn't really indicate the fight. I mean they beat Clemson so they have to be pretty good. We've been on the other side and know how it feels to not be ranked where you want to be. We are always focused and just take each opponent one week at at a time.
Joseph: (Greenwood, SC)
Do you guys ever watch USC's running back tandem of White and Bush and say, "Wow I bet we could do the same thing if we had as many carries"?
Lorenzo Booker (1:08 PM)
Of course. We don't get to see them much on TV around here. But yeah, we think we could do that. I think we have more weapons than USC. I think I know more than anyone because I grew up with all those guys and played with them. We have so many guys here than can make plays. That's really how FSU has been. I mean Warrick Dunn didn't get tons of carries but he got it done. I just talked to him last night and he challenged us to beat his record of 10 carries and 185 yards!
Todd (Jacksonville, FL)
Who on the team is the most popular with the lizzadies?
Lorenzo Booker (1:09 PM)
I can't say myself because I don't go out that much .. I really don't know, honestly. There are some guys who do their thing but I won't put 'em out there. They all do well.
Prov
Lorenzo - What are the top three factors that will weigh into your decision on whether or not to turn pro after this season? Thanks.
Lorenzo Booker (1:10 PM)
Really just my performance. If I feel like I played well enough to go I'll go. If not, I'll stay. I'll talk it over with my mom and my cousin. But I don't focus on it much right now. I have enough to think about already.
Cody, Aberdeen SD
How is Xavier Lee handling his "backup" role? He seems anxious to get in, and I'm a big fan of the running QB.
Lorenzo Booker (1:12 PM)
He's doing good. Better than before. But before he just didn't play as well as he thought he should. He wanted to prove he could get the job done. I think he's doing really well and making plays to make sure we win. I think he still feels like he has a hand in the outcome of the game which is good for his confidence
Sean Orlando, FL
Who on the team is a better dancer than Rod Owens?
Lorenzo Booker (1:12 PM)
Rod is the best. We call him Old School.
Lorenzo (Pittsburgh, PGizzle)
Hey Lorenzo! Who has your idol been growing up in your football career?
Lorenzo Booker (1:13 PM)
For awhile it was Walter Payton. But a lot of my idols were just who my brother liked. The first that was truly my own was Warrick Dunn and Peter Warrick. I really watched everyone on FSU.
Lorenzo Booker (1:13 PM)
Moreso Warrick Dunn because we play the same position and have similar styles.
Rich Cleveland OH
Any new wrinkles to the offense, such as the direct snap to you out of the backfield? Good luck the rest of the season.
Lorenzo Booker (1:14 PM)
We had that last year. It's not something we've put in yet but I think we will later. I'm a big fan of the play!
Alex Tallahassee,FL
Since you almost went to Notre Dame but you have a lot of friends in California, who are you rooting for this weekend, ND or USC?
Lorenzo Booker (1:15 PM)
I've got friends and former teammates on both teams so it's tough. It doesn't matter who wins, I just want to see a good game.
Ben (Annapolis MD)
How did it feel to announce on national television that you were going to FSU? Btw smart move putting down the ND hat...
Lorenzo Booker (1:17 PM)
It really didn't hit me or my family until much later. I just didn't understand the magnitude of it all. It wasn't something I planned to get attention. I just really didn't know where I wanted to go. It was a tough decision. Just because I waited, they came to me to see if I wanted to do it that way and of course I did. It was the weirdest thing ever with all the attention and cameras around. I wouldn't trade it for anything.
Roscoe ( Ft. Myers)
Have you adapted to that dirty south style by playing in the south? The southern boiz love the way you juke!!
Lorenzo Booker (1:18 PM)
I don't think it's that different. We have athletes in California just like they have in Florida. The mentality is no different. The humidity was the hardest thing to adapt to. If it's hot in California we get a nice breeze. But not here!
Lorenzo Booker (1:19 PM)
Ever watch the Charlie Brown cartoon where it's always raining? It's like that but it's sun. The sun just follows you and never goes away. I drank a gallon of water and I still felt like I'd never worked out when I first got here.
Forrest - Lawrenceville,Ga.
Coach Bowden says the offense is getting better, how far along are you guys & how much more can you improve?
Lorenzo Booker (1:20 PM)
I think we're at about 80 percent. Maybe 85. There is still much room for improvement. We had 0 turnovers last week so we will always be in good shape if we can do that. Most of the people on the team haven't reached their full potential so once that happens, we will really be scary.
Dave (Tampa, FL)
What would you like to do after your football career is over?
Lorenzo Booker (1:21 PM)
I have thought about it but it's hard to say. I still love the game so much. I have so much football left in me even though I've been playing since I was 8. It's just hard to think about. Football is really the only thing on my mind right now.
John (Ventura CA)
Book, do you still keep in contact with your core group of friends from Oxnard?
Lorenzo Booker (1:22 PM)
Oh, yeah. Always. I just got off the phone with my best friend. He's more like a brother really. My friends keep me straight. My core group is pretty small though.
Nikki Atlanta, GA
Hey Lorenzo! What's the one play all year you wish you could take back?
Lorenzo Booker (1:24 PM)
Yes! There was a play this past Saturday where I should have been more patient. You get that with experience. I was talking to Warrick about this last night. I had a wide open hole for a TD. I could see it on film. I made my cut to go outside maybe a half second too early. If I had waited it would have been a 30-yard TD untouched.
Matt (Normal, IL)
Hey leon, how realistic is it for this team to run the table and finish the season 11-0 before the ACC game and bowl?
Lorenzo Booker (1:25 PM)
It's VERY realistic. People are starting to see what we can do. Miami. Boston College at Boston College. And we're an even stronger team now than when we won those games. If we play up to our potential not many teams would be able to beat us.
Nick (Tallahassee, Fl)
L-Boogie, Is it true you have recieved a little locker room hazing (From M. Henshaw) about the ESPN Mag shoot you did?
Lorenzo Booker (1:26 PM)
Oh yeah! Hazing ain't even the word! But it's all fun and games. You have to get made fun of for stuff like that.
Marcus Houston, TX
Lorenzo, Does anyone else besides Dunn, call you from the NFL to give you advice or encouragement?
Lorenzo Booker (1:27 PM)
Kerry Colbert is a good friend of mine. Travis Johnson. All of my teammates I still talk to.
Mike (Tampa, FL)
Lorenzo, you have to settle a bet between me and my friends, can you dunk a basketball?
Lorenzo Booker (1:27 PM)
No. I can get up there but my hands aren't big enough to hold the ball.
Lorenzo Booker (1:28 PM)
Hey, thanks for the support! Go Noles! Leon is here!
Leon Washington (1:28 PM)
Hello!
mike tallhassee
Hey Leon, would you consider yourself THE most underrated running back in the nation?
Leon Washington (1:29 PM)
I don't think so. But I'm not the most watched either. People see us as a passing school right now so that factors into it.
Matt (Atlanta, GA)
Leon, love the way you run, especially how you finish plays. What current or former NFL RB do you think you resemble?
Leon Washington (1:29 PM)
LaDainian Tomlinson. He runs hard and finishes plays.
john chapel hill
Leon, how much do you enjoy punt returns?
Leon Washington (1:30 PM)
I like doing it, actually. I'm one of the few who does because it's a hard thing to do. You have to have a lot of heart.
Lisa (Greenville, NC)
Leon, is it true that you and Lorenzo take each other in/out of the game, if so, how does it work?
Leon Washington (1:31 PM)
We basically do it on fatigue. If he runs a long play, I can step in to help him out. Just depends on the situation.
Andrea (Panama City, FL)
Leon, you've been my favorite Nole ever since you came to Florida State! What's been your favorite part about playing for FSU?
Leon Washington (1:32 PM)
Just playing for Coach Bowden. He's the winningiest coach of all time. Just playing here in Tallahassee is great. It's a great college football town.
Leon Washington (1:32 PM)
By the way, I think every coach curses! I remember at halftime he cursed one time .. said we were playing like crap. That's cursing for him.
Dan (Ybor City, FL)
Does Bobby still call you by your name, hometown or old number three?
Leon Washington (1:33 PM)
He calls Lee Lee. I'm not sure when it came from. Everybody else just calls me Lee.
Fred (Tallahassee, FL)
How do you thin the O-Line will hold up without Meinrod? GO NOLES!!
Leon Washington (1:34 PM)
It will hold up well. We'll miss his leadership but we'll be just fine. We can step up.
Leevis (Delaware)
You, Booker and Dunn have been successful "undersized" backs at FSU, Grag Jones was a successful "monster" back, what do you believe is the best fit for Bobby's system and the future for FSU?
Leon Washington (1:35 PM)
Scat backs like Dunn, Lorenzo, etc. You just have to be really quick to play here. Greg Jones was great but to be successful over the long term you need the scat back type.
Nikki Atlanta, GA
Hey Lee! What's your most embarassing on the field moment?
Leon Washington (1:36 PM)
I guess it was my freshman or sophomore year against Notre Dame. I was dropping punts and fumbling kickoffs. I also crapped my pants during Pop Warner one time.
John (Montgomery)
Leon, you've been a great back at FSU - what do you want to be remembered by after your playing days are over?
Leon Washington (1:36 PM)
Bringing a national championship back to FSU and being one of the best RBs in FSU history.
Martin Okeechobee, fl
Hey Leon, You guys are gonna crush the gators right?
Leon Washington (1:37 PM)
Yes! We don't like Gators around here.
Tim (New Port Richey, FL)
When are we going to see a halfback pass out of you?
Leon Washington (1:37 PM)
Yes! Last Monday in practice I told coach I had a big arm. He said we'd put it in soon! So look out!
chris (tallahassee)
At what age did you realize you were a special talent and knew you had a chance to be a great college football player and professional
Leon Washington (1:38 PM)
I would say my junior year in high school. That was my first year playing. The first time I touched the ball I scored.
Andy (Tallahassee, Fl)
Which rivalry game do you get more pumped for, Miami or Florida?
Leon Washington (1:39 PM)
Florida by far. I know some guys who play for them. It's just a huge rivarly around here.
Shawn, Tallahassee
hey Leon, whos better at NCAA06? you or Lorenzo?
Leon Washington (1:39 PM)
Have to go with me. I'm 2-0 against him this season. The record speaks for itself.
Cole Eikey (Traverse City, Michigan)
Do you wish that you didnt have to share carries with each other on field
Leon Washington (1:40 PM)
I don't think so. I like what we have. We are both always fresh at all times when we are on the field. You always want more touches but it's working pretty good right now.
C.J. Villa Hills, KY
Leon, Whats one team you really wanted to play this year, but didn't get scheduled( Notre Dame?)
Leon Washington (1:40 PM)
I would love to play Ohio State with the LBs they have. I want to see how we stack up.
Chad (Elon, NC)
What celebrity would you want to date?
Leon Washington (1:41 PM)
I like Serena Williams. Big, strong, thick. I like her a lot.
B Lum, Fort Lauderdale,FL
We all know you guys can eat, whats your best pig out food in Tally? Guthries? AJ's?
Leon Washington (1:41 PM)
A.J's is the spot to be.
Robert (Tallahasse,Fl)
Leon, How has the zone blocking scheme effected the running game this year as opposed to last year's man scheme? Is it better? or worse?
Leon Washington (1:42 PM)
A little. It's taking guys a little longer to pick up on it. But it's getting better all the time.
martin, Okeechobee, Fl
Hey leon, where can i get a no. 3 seminoles jersey?
Leon Washington (1:42 PM)
Any Foot Locker around here. Or just call 'em and they'll order for it. I don't get paid for Nike though so I don't want to advertise too much.
Jim (Cleveland)
Who gets to be FSU when you guys play NCAA'06?
Leon Washington (1:43 PM)
He had FSU and I beat him with Texas.
Devon (Ohio State)
Yo Leon, why you callin out Ohio State..you wouldnt be able to run on our defense...ahaha just playin...what team would you like to play for in the NFL?
Leon Washington (1:44 PM)
Quite frankly, it doesn't matter. Any team with a great coach.
JC (Jacksonville, FL)
What do you think of Coach Bowden's ritual of taking the team to Thomasville, GA the night before home games?
Leon Washington (1:44 PM)
I love it. Gives us a chance to get focused and keeps guy out of trouble.
Hutch (Hornell, NY)
Should Boogie go pro?
Leon Washington (1:45 PM)
The way he is playing, he has a great chance of going. It just depends on how he finished out the season.
Zach (Charlotte)
How do yout think you and Lorenzo compare to Bush and White at USC, I'll take you two!
Leon Washington (1:46 PM)
That's crazy! Reggie Bush is Reggie Bush. Nobody compares to him. But Lorenzo do what we do and do it well, as do Reggie adn LenDale. Maybe we'll get to play each other and find out!
Justin,(Cedar Falls.IA)
whats the first thing ur gonna buy when you get drafted?
Leon Washington (1:47 PM)
Real estate! Property!
Boca Raton, FL
Why don't you guys get the ball more? I think you guys have the talent to be the best backs in the nation. Why doesn't Bowden use you guys more often
Leon Washington (1:48 PM)
Everything that you do in football is setting up something else. We're trying to get our QB acclimated to our passing schemes. We will need to run more at some point and we will. But right now we need to get our QBs some experience.
CHRIS BROOKLYN
I hear your the best cook on the team , what's your specialty? GO NOLES!!!
Leon Washington (1:50 PM)
That is true. My speciality is BBQ chicken. I have a special sauce and everything. I even have a slogan "Popeye's can't touch my chicken and Boston has nothin' on my baked beans!" I'm actually cookin' today. So I need to wrap this up. Thanks for the questions .. stay tuned for the rest of the season!
