Stewart, who has won two Cup Series championships in the last four years, is the 14th driver in series history to win multiple titles and just the seventh to do so since NASCAR modified its scoring system in 1975.
He helped Joe Gibbs Racing win its third championship despite not winning any of the final ten races in the Chase. He had three runner-up finishes in that span.
