Ohm (12:30 PM)
Wud up, wud up... what ya'll got for me today? By the way... did anyone see that MC Hammer dissed Jay-Z... dude, that's like a butterknife trying to mess wiht a machete.
Ohm (12:31 PM)
KC or Bal D/ST? Kevin Smith (Det) or Larod Stephens Howling (AZ)?
Ohm (12:34 PM)
Chris, tough one... KC is playing well but on road at Oakland, which is mad hot... can't believe I just said that about the Raiders! And Baltimore at home but Miami has been great on the road this year. I think it's a toss up but I would lean Baltimore. Your RB situation is dire man. Whew! Check and see if Smith makes it through the week on practice. Same thing with Beanie Wells. If Wells is out, maybe you can go with the Cards RB but either way... not pretty for you right now.
Ohm Fan (Asking Question Really Early so it gets answered)
Why is all of ESPN against the Giants still? 7 in Power Rankings what a joke!
Ohm (12:35 PM)
Wud up? It's a conspiracy against the Giants! Gasp! Nah... I don't know about the power rankings. People much smarter than me do those things. If you do really look at it, the Giants have beaten the Panthers, Bears, Lions, a bad Cowboys team and a Texans team that has yet to take that next step. People probably want to see them beat better teams. Personally, I think the Giants are in the discussion as top 3 best teams in the NFC for sure.
Brian (San Jose)
With Pierre-Paul getting a bigger role, how can we expect him to produce?
Ohm (12:37 PM)
B... I think you will see him in more packages, lining up some at DT, DE and LB. Kind of like Kiwanuka. But it won't come immediately. I think you will see him get a steady diet of more snaps. He has been a beast on special teams so they want to keep him there too. Ch, ch, check it out: http://sports.espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/columns/story?columnist=youngmisuk_ohm&id=5757687
Chris Fiegler (Latham,NY)
Will we see Both the New York Giants & the New York Jets play in Super Bowl XLV?
Ohm (12:39 PM)
CF... doubt it. Way too early to be thinking about that. I still think the Giants could have trouble facing the likes of a New Orleans or even Green Bay in the playoffs. I don't fear Tampa or Atlanta (even though the Falcons are really solid). Giants need to get home field advantage to help. It could be real trouble if they had to go to New Orleans. I know what you all are thinking... look at the Saints' record. They will turn it around.
Ohm Rocks (NY)
Who is your favorite ESPN Radio Analyst to talk to?
Ohm (12:40 PM)
Yo... so many man. All of them are cool. For real. My girl Bonnie, my man Seth, my boys BT and Jody Mc... Mr. Doughtry... they are all a lot of fun to chat with. Who's your fave?
Chris (New Rochelle)
Im a huge Giants fan and I like what I have seen from them so far this year. I just hope they dont finish the year the way they did last year. What is the key for the Giants to finish strong the rest of the year?
Ohm (12:41 PM)
C... I hear you man. Check out this story, I wrote it just for you dude. LOL. It's all about their fast starts fizzling out in the past under Coughlin and why these players think this year will be different. No meltdown. Keys? Stay healthy. Cut down on the turnovers. http://sports.espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/columns/story?columnist=youngmisuk_ohm&id=5738676
Jon Maxant (New York)
Do you think that Keith Bulluck is making an impact on this perry fewell defense?
Ohm (12:43 PM)
JMax... I think he will have more of an impact. He had that toe injury that slowed him down. I think it will get better. Fewell said last week that he envisions getting Bulluck more and more in the mix... even with those 4-2-5 sets he uses.
Chris Martin (Maryland)
What do you think the chances are that Eli goes deep to Nicks early to keep that crowd quiet?
Ohm (12:44 PM)
CMart... I think Eli will continue throwing... I know about the interceptions and what not... but I think if it is there, he will throw and throw and throw. Just got to limit the interceptions and fumbles. Can't give that crowd any fuel.
Snooki (Jersey Shore)
What's up my love?
Ohm (12:44 PM)
Snooks... I saw you told the world you have a crush on Vinny... sigh.
Do you think there would be more consideration of Eli in the early MVP talk if his interceptions were cut in half?
Ohm (12:46 PM)
Sam... nah. Eli has put up some numbers but the Giants win with balance and defense. Even if he had 5 picks... I don't see him in the conversation with say, his brother. Did you see what Peyton did the other night. Sick.
Sparty sucks donkey ----.
Ohm (12:47 PM)
Are you getting ready for that big press conference today when Rich Rod hears what the NCAA is going to rule on his practice habits? How is that Rich Rod experiment going anyways?
Chris Martin (Maryland)
Where is the story about Jonothan Goff? The MLB Linebacker position was a huge worry coming into this season and there has not been ONE negative thing said about it. Goff has to deserve some kind of props!!!!
Ohm (12:48 PM)
Goff definitely deserves his props. Safeties coach Dave Merritt said the other day that he has exceeded everybody's expectations. A Goff story will come soon. We wrote about him quite a bit early in the season though. But no doubt, JG has been playing well. Very solid.
Thank you for time man!!I am in a PPR league have to pick 3 of these 4. 1. McFadden2. Bradshaw3. Forte 4. CharlesI'm ready to give up on Forte but he is playing the Bills! Thanks again for your help.
Ohm (12:49 PM)
Ian... ok, in PPR, you must play Forte vs Bills. Also, hard to bench Run DMC ever again after that explosion a few weeks ago. I think you go with Bradshaw over Charles because at least he gets majority of carries. Charles is a beast but still splits time with TJ and Oak run defense is decent.
pb (buenos aires, argentina)
hey ohm, been reading your column as im studying abroad this semester. giants defense? should i start them? im liking their performance and their ability to rack up points with sacks and fumbles.
Ohm (12:51 PM)
PB... wow... Buenos Aires... say hi to my childhood crush... Gabriela Sabatini! Thanks for reading. I would definitely start Giants defense, especially if Hasselbeck doesn't play. Monitor the Seattle QB situation. Either way, I think you can start Giants defense and feel good about it.
pb (buenos aires, argentina)
hey ohm, greetings from south america! giants defense? packers defense? (im going to start giants d as a fan) haha but will they allow seattle to convert 3rd downs and score?
Ohm (12:51 PM)
Oh, wait, I see you have Green Bay defense too... Hmm... ok, I'd go Green Bay defense vs sorry Cowboys. If Hasselbeck is out, then strongly consider the Giants defense.
Ohm, what's up dude? Koets played well in his previous stunt when O'Hara was hurt, but on the road at Seattle is a different animal. How are he, the O-line, and Eli preparing for the challenges of "Poise in the Noise?" Is he the type that could be rattled if there are a couple early mistakes?
Ohm (12:53 PM)
311, wud up man? A lot of silent count. Dude, how much do you love TC for dropping that line? Poise in the Noise? It's like Bass in your Face. I think with Snee and Seubert on his sides, Koets should be OK.
OHM my man!!! How can the Giants avoid what happened to the Jets coming off their bye week?
Ohm (12:54 PM)
J... good question. Got to stay hungry, can't be satisfied. It's human nature though. Green Bay is better than Seattle but playing there is really tough. This will not be an easy game... At least, not at first. If Whitehurst plays... different story.
Where do you see the New York Giants at the end of the season?
Ohm (12:55 PM)
Shawn... well, I predicted them at 10-6 at the start of the season. So I guess I got to stick with that prediction. But I do see them winning the NFC East now. It's basically a two-team race with the Giants and Eagles. Redskins have cardiovascular issues.
Jim (Emerson, NJ)
Yo Ohm - Where would you rank Eli right now as far as top QB's and players overall for the Giants? For QB - he could make a case as best ever already, although most Giants fans might argue Phil or YA....As far as best ever, is he in Top Ten yet?
Ohm (12:56 PM)
Best ever as in with the NFL? Or Best Ever as in Giants franchise? I will say he is definitely in top 10 best ever in franchise history. Not the best yet as far as topping Phil.
Has Kevin Boss become a forgotten man in the offense?
Ohm (12:58 PM)
J... yup a bit. But give him credit for staying and blocking as well. He and Pascoe doing a good job. But I'd love to see the Giants throw more to the tight end. Of course, everytime they throw to him, he gets crushed. Or so it seems.
Whats up Ohm-boy? You think this Jeter contract negotiation is going to turn ugly? It sounds like both sides are expecting it to
Ohm (12:59 PM)
Ryan, to be honest, haven't been keeping up with it. But here's my take... gotta pay the dude. I have much respect for Jeter and it's not because of the girls he dates. He is the franchise. This is so much more than about his play. His play is definitely on the decline. But he is an icon. Give him the dough.
Hey whats up Ohm! Will we get to see Will Blackmon start returning against the Seahawks this Sunday?
Ohm (1:00 PM)
K... yo! I think so. Coughlin says Reynaud still his returner as of now. But I think Blackmon is the dude.
Do you think Kenny Phillips is 100%?
Ohm (1:01 PM)
J... not yet... but he is nearing 100 percent. Could take another month or so. He had another knee issue to his MCL earlier, that slowed him down. Check this story out: http://sports.espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/columns/story?columnist=youngmisuk_ohm&id=5713933
start manningham against seattle?
Ohm (1:02 PM)
Big z... don't know what your other options are... Manningham could be a flex option. But I think I rather find something more trustworthy if you have that option.
Mike (New York)
Dating advice - I'm a good looking dude, but I have no game. I watch guys who are fat and ugly pick up girls but I struggle. Help me out?
Ohm (1:03 PM)
Mikey... got to be aggressive. Think Latrell Sprewell. No, don't go choke someone. But take it to the basket, strong. Got to have that, I don't care attitude. For nice dudes, though, that is tough. You don't want to be a punk about it. Got to find that, be aggressive but also be nice and approachable mix. Those other dudes got girls by being aggressive and not caring. Just got to take shots, launch those jumpers up homey.
Ohm, I am loving my gmens chances this year but why are sports journalists so fickle in proclaiming week to week this year's superbowl matchups? last week it was giants-jets, this week giants-steelers....if the giants lose to seattle then media guys would say they arent even a playoff team. Enough of the fickleness, right?
Ohm (1:04 PM)
Aaron, who is proclaiming the Giants to go to the Super Bowl? Way too early homey. Too premature. Got a long, long, long way to go. Concentrate on NFC East for now.
Vinnie (Columbus, OH)
Ohm's Law! Gmen have a history of sucking after the bye week. Calm my nerves and explain why I needn't be worried. Thanks.
Ohm (1:06 PM)
Vinnie! Take deep breaths homey! Read this (about why the Giants say this year will not be like years past) and hit me up next week on the chat! Or on Twitter (@NotoriousOHM) http://sports.espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/columns/story?columnist=youngmisuk_ohm&id=5738676
One of the analysts were worried that the Giants will be hesitant with the noice ins Seattle. I think that this Giants team is more experienced than in 2006. I don't think it will be an issue. They did play in a loud Reliant Stadium and a loud Cowboys Stadium. What do you think?
Ohm (1:06 PM)
K... Seattle is nuts man. But you are right. Houston was mad loud. So was Dallas. I think they should be ok...
Im in an IDP and was just curious if there was any word on Pat Chung from New England if hes gonna play this week.
Ohm (1:08 PM)
Not sure Cory... I just tried to look up latest on Chung but haven't seen anything new. I would check out ESPN Boston. Mike Reiss is very good at updating injuries. Sorry I couldn't help you more.
How do u think the giants can stop turning over the ball so much
Ohm (1:09 PM)
Adam... just wrote about it last night: http://sports.espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/columns/story?columnist=youngmisuk_ohm&id=5761490
Wutup Ohm? The New York Football Giants are usually a different team from one half of the season to the other. Do you think their troubles are behind them in the first three games and they will continue their success, or do you see them slipping when they get into tougher games?
Ohm (1:10 PM)
Mikey... I anticipated you would ask... wrote about the fast starts and slow finishes last weekend. The Giants say this year is different. Here you go: http://sports.espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/columns/story?columnist=youngmisuk_ohm&id=5738676
Snooki (Jersey Shore)
Of course Ohm - he has something few men can offer
Ohm (1:10 PM)
As long as Brady and Belichick are up in new england the Jets will ALWAYS be the younger brother in the division, right?
Ohm (1:11 PM)
Z... I still think Jets will get the better of them this year. Just a feeling. Rex doesn't bow down to Belichick.
frank (South Carolina)
I'm a huge Giant fan. There's quite a bit of followers down here in Columbia SC. If our defense continues to play the way they have. Is it possible with even Eli's eractic throwing and turnovers we can still win the NFC Championship?
Ohm (1:12 PM)
Frank... wud up? Long ways to go. But it is possible. NFC is breaking their way. Homefield helps just from the standpoint that they wouldn't have to go to a New Orleans or Green Bay. (Of course, they won in GB in the NFC Championship in 07). But I am not ready to crown these guys NFC champs. Got a long way to go. Hope they stay healthy and take advantage of all the breaks.
Mike (Danbury, CT)
For me I think one big reason this year will be different is because the GMen havent played their "A" game yet whereas in years past it seemed like they started out playing their "A" game and then regressed. So to win games (even against bad teams) without playing their best football is a sign that this team can get the job done, what do you think?
Ohm (1:13 PM)
You are right. Either they have their best ahead of them or these issues are serious issues and they come back to haunt them. Here's what the Giants are saying: http://sports.espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/columns/story?columnist=youngmisuk_ohm&id=5738676
pb (buenos aires)
Gabriela Sabatini? yeah i'll let her know. as long as you give me the hookup on charlie whitehurst and whats his style?
Ohm (1:14 PM)
I don't think any of us know what Whitehurst's style is since we haven't really seen him. Just know that I believe this would be his first start ever.
Deon Grant has mad a number of plays on defense. Do you think he's the unsung hero of the defense?
Ohm (1:14 PM)
Malik... wud up? Yeah, he has been huge. Writing about him for tomorrow. How did you know Malik?
What is the over/under on Eli getting "delay of Game" penalties on Sunday? He gets minimum 1 per game
Ohm (1:15 PM)
JP... isn't always his fault. The plays have to be delivered to him. But yeah, I can see one or two. LOL! Remember, Poise in the Noise!
I know you don't cover them... but your thoughts on the Jets? How do you see them finishing up?
Ohm (1:16 PM)
Don... I spent a lot of time around the Jets the last few years... I got them winning the AFC East. Second round playoffs at least... is my guess.
Ohm, how do you think the game goes this weekend? I can see the offense going off if they get the crowd out early, you agree? Big numbers for Eli and boys, I see. Also, do you think Whitehurst gets clobbered if he starts?
Ohm (1:16 PM)
Won't be pretty Matt. Either the Giants' special teams rear its ugly head and hurts them or the Giants go off on a banged up offensive line against either a hurt QB or one that has no experience.
Are the Giants Super Bowl bound? if not, what do they have to do to get there?
Ohm (1:17 PM)
Rilwan... easy homeboy. Super Bowl a long ways away. Got to cut down on turnovers, get more consistent, take advantage of breaks that come their way and stay healthy.
Everyone talks about the Seattle crowd noise... yet they are 9-10 in their last 19 home games (including the 3-0 start this year). They are also missing many key players. Bottom line - if the Giants are as good as we think, they will win.
Ohm (1:18 PM)
B... Seattle is 3-0 at home this year. I think Coughlin said they have 12 of their 13 takeaways at home. They are very tough to beat there. But yes, Giants are the better team and should win.
How much do the Giants players pay attention to whats going on with the Jets?
Ohm (1:19 PM)
They do... but they won't say how much they do. But they know what's going on over there. They don't read everything. They just know from time to time what is happening with the Jets.
Mike Sorrentino (The Situation) (Jersey Shore)
Mike in New York needs to get himself a situation - it's dating gold!
Ohm (1:20 PM)
LOL!!!!!!! Well, don't be like Situation. That's too aggressive man. You will end up fouling out every time. Too aggressive. LOL.
Jody Mac (New Jersey)
Do you think Melo would accept a trade to the Nets?
Ohm (1:20 PM)
JMac... this you? LOL. I think he wants the Knicks. And LaLa wants thta too...Ok guys, got to run into Giants locker room. Time to go. Thanks for chatting guys!
Ohm (1:21 PM)
