Ohm (2:01 PM)
Hey guys, hope you are all safe. Did anyone feel the earthquake? I didn't here in NJ but a lot of others did.
John(Cranbury, NJ) [via mobile]
NotoriousOhm, you changing your mind on the special teams yet? Last week I said they picked it up from last year and you were still skeptical. This week they played their tales off on returns and coverage with your boy even getting a big-time block. So, you coming around?
Ohm (2:02 PM)
They looked very good. Punting has been great. Coverage team was better. Return on kickoffs were great. I need to re-watch the rest of the game on tape but I like what I see so far. I am most excited about the young kids - Jones, Herzlich, Paysinger, Sash on special teams. And Devin Thomas looked terrific.
Chris Fiegler (Latham,NY)
Who will the Giants replace at Cornerback this season since Terrell Thomas is Out for the Season with a torn ACL?
Ohm (2:04 PM)
We'll see. I am sure they are working out guys and will try to sign a free agent for the vet minimum, perhaps. There isn't a whole lot out there. I think Lito Sheppard and Kelvin Hayden are the biggest names but remember, Giants will try to sign somebody on the cheap if they can unless they make a trade. They also could wait until teams cut other players as well.
Here he is folks, "Big Ohm"! How many starters do u think we will have watching from the sidelines in week one? over/under 8?
Ohm (2:04 PM)
Wud up Drew. I'd say under.
Can the Giants make the playoffs with Osi, Pirnce and TT out for a good chunk of the year?
Ohm (2:05 PM)
I still think it's possible. Osi could potentially be back as soon as the second game of the season but he could miss the first three to four games. We'll have to see. Prince might be back by mid to late September. They can't suffer many more injuries though.
What chances do the Giants have against my Dream team with all their injuries?
Ohm (2:06 PM)
Still expect the games to be highly competitive and I can still see the Giants taking one game.
Stick a fork in the Gmen they are dead before they come out of the gate...........Eli a top 5 dork!
Ohm (2:07 PM)
Phil, I wouldn't pronounce them dead just yet. But losing Thomas hurts. He was one of the best tacklers, solid.
Obama (Washington DC)
With those CBs starting, look for the Skins to beat the Gmen first week...book it!
Ohm (2:08 PM)
It's funny, I've heard from a few Redskins fans already. Redskins fans feeling good. Of course, season has yet to start. We'll have to see how Beck and Grossman do. Still see the Giants winning.
Why can't the Giants ever field a full team...is Hoffa in the building or what? Talent wise they should be as gifted a team as anyone..........another losing record and no playoffs for the third year in a row.
Ohm (2:09 PM)
Well Rex, they have had their share of injuries but perhaps it's magnified. Other teams have plenty of injuries. They did win 10 games last year. Just no playoffs.
out of all the young LB which ones have the best chanc to make the team?
Ohm (2:09 PM)
Anthony, Greg Jones. Blocked a punt last night. Continues to impress.
Matty B (Hoboken, NJ)
Hard to focus on the positives after the losses at CB, but Devin Thomas deserves to make this team. Should return both punts and kick offs. Would love to see him get reps at WR too. As for the CB, have you heard anything on who they will sign? K. Hayden? Lito Sheppard?
Ohm (2:10 PM)
Devin may have won a roster spot last night and they can still use him at WR as well. I think he's making the squad. Don't know who they will sign yet. But whoever it is, I'd think it would be for minimum.
Ohm (2:11 PM)
hang on guys, I think Witherspoon just announced on Twitter that he's out for the year.
Ohm (2:14 PM)
Hey, Witherspoon tweeted that his season is over, ACL. I got to run, should have the news up later on ESPNNewYork.com Really sorry to end this chat early but I got to report. Sorry guys. We'll resume this at another time!
