Good afternoon everyone...thanks for tuning in a day early! Let's get this partaaayyyy started!
Mike P (Danbury Ct.)
I picked Kahn for today!! His car is awesome!! How do u think things will work out tonight!! Crossing my figures for that win?? Seems like he is the jimmy Johnson of Charlotte ..
Mark "Guru" Garrow (3:01 PM)
An oldie but goodie to start things off..Yo Mike wrong chat but we were both right on what Mr. Kahne was capable of in the 600..
Zach (Fennimore, WI)
How can you not be impressed with the change in attitude of Kurt Busch? And low and behold, it's resulting in not just good finishes, but him contending in races again. I've liked what I've seen out of him since he moved to Furniture Row. Is he possibly "auditioning" for getting back on a bigger team, maybe RCR? I know they mentioned possibly putting him in a fourth car late last season.
Mark "Guru" Garrow (3:03 PM)
Zach, I agree that Kurt Busch has done a nice job in and out of the car this year. Sure he could be auditioning, but for all intents and purposes Furniture Row is already an RCR unofficial fourth team so with what crew chief Todd Berrier is doing he might be glad to just stay put you never know.
Bill Scott (Lake Summerset, Illinois)
Mark, Everything was looking good during the 600 until the 18 blew-up (again)! Questions, Is the 39 worth the risk @ Dover? Same question for the 22? The 22 actually seems to be a little better than the 2. I'm still staying away from the 14. Thanks, Bill
Mark "Guru" Garrow (3:06 PM)
I was good Bill until exactly at the 500 mile mark...one lap later Johnson spins and wrecks himself and Matt Kenseth and then two of my cars had to limp home 15th and 22nd and I still scored 170..The 39 is certainly worth some consideration because he's had some great runs at Dover before..but the Logano feels like something is really beginning to click over at Penske for him..might be a better bet..he was top-10 in both Dover races last year for Gibbs, but I think we'd all agree he's running stronger now...The 14 at Dover is pretty scary no doubt it with what five straight finishes 20th or worse.
Chris Fiegler (Latham,NY)
Who do you think will win the 5 Hour Energy 200 & the Fed EX Autism Speaks 400 at Dover?
Mark "Guru" Garrow (3:07 PM)
Betting against Kyle Busch in a Nationwide Series race is crazy talk these days..lol...as for Sunday I think Jimmie Johnson or Matt Kenseth are my top two picks in that order.
PJ (Boston, MA)
Hey Mark, I haven't seen an official entry list yet. But I've heard some rumblings that Sam Hornish will be running the #12 Sprint Cup car this week. Is there any truth to that rumor?
Mark "Guru" Garrow (3:50 PM)
I just checked the entry list and Sam Hornish, Jr. is not on it...He qualified fourth at Dover last fall in the 22 car, but finished 25th.
Mark "Guru" Garrow (4:08 PM)
Well, I guess most of the folks didn't catch the change this week...but want to remind everyone that our race day chat from Dover will take place Sunday morning at 10:30 eastern time. So, until then have a great week..please continue to thank the men and women of our military this week and remember to keep the victims of the Oklahoma tornadoes in your thoughts and prayers as well..Sad to say but must "The Guru has left the building!"
