A native of Kauai, Hawaii, Hight was a surfer before she was a snowboarder.

Welcome to SportsNation! On Friday, former 2006 and 2010 U.S. Olympic snowboarder Elena Hight stops by to share her thoughts on the 2014 Sochi Games.

Hight, @Elenahight, was just 16 when she made the U.S. Olympic team on the halfpipe for the 2006 Turin Games. She missed the cut for the 2014 squad, however she blogged about her season for espnW.com.

Hight began blazing trails in snowboarding as soon as she hit the slopes. At 13 she became the first woman to complete a frontside 900. At 18 she was the first woman to do a back-to-back 900, and in 2012, she was the first woman to complete a double backside alley-oop rodeo. Fans can follow her career on Facebook: ElenaHightSnowboarder and her website: ElenaHight.com.

Send your questions now and join Hight Friday at 2 p.m. ET!
