ESPN chicago: Hall of Fame

With the inaugural class of the ESPN Chicago Hall of Fame, fans selected five legendary figures who embody the toughness of the city they represented. No one was mentally tougher than Michael Jordan, whose will to win is unrivaled. Walter Payton missed one game in his 13-year career. Mike Ditka and Dick Butkus are the poster boys for old-school NFL toughness -- crew cuts and all. And Ernie Banks carried the burden of being the Cubs' first African-American star player with class, humility and a love for the game that still endears him to fans. They are all legends not only in this city but around the country and now -- because of your votes -- are brought together as the first class of the ESPN Chicago Hall of Fame.
