Is storming the court dangerous?

Brawls on the court are bad enough as is, but when fans start throwing punches, the stakes raise considerably. Thursday night's postgame fight between members of New Mexico State and Utah Valley quickly got out of hand when fans who rushed the court became involved in the scuffle. This isn't normally what happens when fans rush the court, but it does illustrate the danger of what generally is intended as a gesture of celebration. Even if there's no fight going on, fans and players alike run a very real risk of being crushed or trampled in the chaos.
