Dirk Nowitzki nails Pau Gasol with an epic burn on Twitter

When the Chicago Bulls host the Charlotte Hornets tonight, Pau Gasol will become the 116th player in NBA history to play 1,000 games, and he wanted to celebrate the milestone with his 3.25 million Twitter followers.

Dallas Mavericks big man Dirk Nowitzki -- who is 20th all-time in games played, and who battled Gasol in multiple playoff series -- quickly chimed in with a suggestion for Pau.

Wow, that's rough. That's the Twitter version of -- well, of getting dunked on, like Nikola Vucevic did to Gasol in that video.

Fortunately, the five-time All-Star took the virtual posterization in stride.

With the NBA preseason nearly done but still time to kill before the first official tipoff, NBA players are now turning their minds to the important questions.

Specifically:

Our money would be on the 37-year-old German, whose sport forces him to run more than the 39-year-old Denver Broncos quarterback.

And we just might get to find out! Or at least Chandler Parsons and Von Miller are trying to make it so:

NBA free agency predictions?

July 1 marks the beginning of NBA free agency, and what a time it should be. LeBron James is available. So are Carmelo Anthony, Chris Bosh, James' and Bosh's fellow Big Three member Dwyane Wade and -- perhaps briefly, if he re-signs as expected -- Dirk Nowitzki. That's not to mention restricted free agents such as Eric Bledsoe and Gordon Hayward, plus trade targets like Kevin Love. What will happen when the players start moving?

Is Dirk Nowitzki an all-time great? Dallas Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle believes he is one of the 12 best players in NBA history. In February, though, the fans spoke -- and placed the Mavs' star forward dead last among the 21 options. Has your opinion changed, now that Dirk has moved up to 10th on the all-time scoring list? It's always embarrassing when small children are better than you at something. That's why we're a little intimidated by this video of this kid demonstrating his complete and absolute dominance at NCAA tournament trivia. He's somehow managed to memorize which team beat each of the teams that lost in the 2014 March Madness bracket. We can't even remember what we had for dinner last night. Can you even come close to him?

Starting with Cincinnati, click each individual team and type your answer.
