Women's Final Four predictions?
The women's Final Four is set, and -- surprise! -- undefeated Connecticut and Notre Dame made it to Nashville. The other two teams were not No. 1 seeds: No. 2 Stanford won on its home floor, while No. 4 Maryland beat host/No. 3 Louisville. Can either keep the unbeatens from an epic final? Bracketmania didn't end Sunday. On Monday, the women's NCAA tournament field was released, with -- as expected -- UConn (34-0) earning the No. 1 overall seed for its quest to win a record ninth title. Fellow No. 1s are Notre Dame (also undefeated), Tennessee and surprising South Carolina, with Duke, Stanford, Baylor and West Virginia receiving No. 2s. Which team will take the whole thing? Strange as it seems, Connecticut losing for the first time in 91 games was hardly a surprise. But Stanford was the last team to beat Connecticut before the latter's record streak and one of the only teams to compete with the Huskies during the streak. So is the rivalry between the Cardinal and Huskies as good as that other one?
