Dr. Martin Luther King On the day we pause to reflect on the legacy of civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King, it's worth pondering where sports fit in our ongoing struggle to live up to the ideals of racial harmony and equality espoused so many years ago by Dr. King.

Are sports still as important to societal progress as they were when Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier in baseball?
