Vote: What does Palmeiro's 3,000th mean?

For all the talk of baseball's juiced offensive numbers, the 3,000-hit club remains one of the more exclusive outfits in all of sports. Rafael Palmeiro is just the 26th player to reach the total, and it's far from certain that any of his peers will join him anytime soon.

So what do you make of Palmeiro's milestone, which also makes him just the fourth player to total 3,000 hits and 500 homers? Does the overall surge in hitting stats diminish his accomplishment? Is he a lock for Cooperstown? And is Palmeiro, born in Havana, the best Cuban-born player in MLB history? Vote, SportsNation!
