Vote: Who are your Cy Young winners?

The career of the namesake of baseball's highest honor for pitching excellence offers a few clues to the ambiguity of the award. Cy Young (right) won more games than any pitcher in the history of the game, but he also leads history's team in losses. For much of his time, the World Series wasn't the event we know now, but Young still pitched for a World Series winner just once in his illustrious career.

So just what makes a pitcher worthy of a Cy Young? Is leading the league in wins, or at least winning 20 games, a prerequisite? Or is team success irrelevant, and individual dominance more important? What about closers?

Help us out, SportsNation. What does all this mean for the heated race in the National League?
