Sting once sang, "If you love somebody, set them free."
Unless the Montreal Expos stumble upon a couple hundred million dollars in the next seven months, they will be lovin' star outfielder Vladimir Guerrero right out of the country at the end of the 2003 season.
Guerrero will likely be one of several high profile players entering the free agent market and hoping to cash in. The 27-year-old, lifetime .322 hitter has outgrown his $8 million annual salary and could command major coin should he wind up in a major market.
Who will pony up for Guerrero? Or will A's shortstop Miguel Tejada be the hotter commodity?
