Vote: New Orleans Bowl

Like the sweet smell of pine trees, the good cheer of friends and family and the horrendous parking at the shopping mall, college football bowl games are a staple of the holiday season. And while the four BCS games control the championshp picture, the other bowls often offer up the season's most memorable moments and fantastic finishes.

When: Dec. 20, 8 p.m. ET (ESPN)

The Game: In its fifth year, the New Orleans Bowl will be played at Cajun Field in Lafeyette, La. as a result of damage to its traditional home at the Louisiana Superdome. It annually welcomes the Sun Belt champions and a team from Conference USA and is often the first bowl game of the season.

The Teams: Arkansas State (6-5, 5-2) won a tiebreaker for first place in the Sun Belt. Southern Miss (6-5, 5-3) finished in a tie for third in Conference USA.
