Vote: Motor City Bowl


Like the sweet smell of pine trees, the good cheer of friends and family and the horrendous parking at the shopping mall, college football bowl games are a staple of the holiday season. And while the four BCS games control the championshp picture, the other bowls often offer up the season's most memorable moments and fantastic finishes.

When: Dec. 26, 4 p.m. (ESPN)

The Game: In its ninth year, the Motor City Bowl will be played at Ford Field in Detroit, Mich. It annually pits the champion of the MAC against a contender from another major conference.

The Teams: Akron (7-5, 6-3) won the Conference USA title game against Northern Illinois. Memphis (6-5, 5-3) finished in a tie for third place in Conference USA.
