Vote: Pacific Life Holiday Bowl

Like the sweet smell of pine trees, the good cheer of friends and family and the horrendous parking at the shopping mall, college football bowl games are a staple of the holiday season. And while the four BCS games control the championshp picture, the other bowls often offer up the season's most memorable moments and fantastic finishes.

When: Dec. 29, 8 p.m. ET (ESPN)

The Game: In its 28th year, the Pacific Life Holiday Bowl will again be played at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego. Originally host to the WAC champion and an at-large team, the game now features representatives of the Pac-10 and Big 12. Over the years, the game has earned a reputation for lots of offense and close finishes.

The Teams: Oregon (10-1, 7-1) finished second in the Pac-10. Oklahoma (7-4, 6-2) finished in a tie for second in the Big 12 South, sharing the second-best record in the conference.
