Vote: AutoZone Liberty Bowl


Like the sweet smell of pine trees, the good cheer of friends and family and the horrendous parking at the shopping mall, college football bowl games are a staple of the holiday season. And while the four BCS games control the championshp picture, the other bowls often offer up the season's most memorable moments and fantastic finishes.

When: Dec. 31, 1 p.m. ET (ESPN)

The Game: Played every year since 1959, when Penn State defeated Alabama 7-0, the Liberty Bowl is another staple of the college bowl season. Played at the Liberty Bowl in Memphis, Tenn. the game this year features teams from Conference USA and the WAC. The game has recently become a place for teams from the WAC or MWC to play before new audiences.

The Teams: Tulsa (8-4, 7-2) finished as champions of Conference USA. Fresno State (8-4, 6-2) finished in a tie for third place in the WAC. Make your predictions and preview the game, SportsNation!
