Vote: Did the Sharks steal a star?

 Joe Thornton
From captain of the Bruins to savior of the Sharks?
With fewer points than all but two teams in the Eastern Conference, and fewer goals than all but three teams, the Boston Bruins needed to shake things up. But will trading the man most considered the team's top talent help the cause?

On the flip side of Wednesday's big trade, for the second time in a matter of weeks, an NHL superstar is headed to a team in desperate need of a spark. Hopefully for the San Jose Sharks, Joe Thornton will provide more of a boost than Sergei Fedorov has provided for Columbus.

So what do you make of the monster trade, SportsNation? Are the Bruins bailing on the season or assembling much-needed pieces to make a run at the playoffs? Did the Sharks land one of the league's top talents, or just an enigma who rarely plays up to his potential?
