The Boston Celtics and Minnesota Timberwolves have both endured speculation about their respective willingness to deal away franchise cornerstones, but it was sidekicks at the center of Thursday's seven-player swap.

Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett are staying put, but Ricky Davis and Wally Szczerbiak are switching teams. Will fresh starts for two players known more for offense than defense do anything to boost the postseason aspirations of two teams living on the edge of the bubble at the moment?

As for the bigger picture, is this move enough for either Kevin McHale or Danny Ainge, or is it time to start thinking about dealing the stars who have yet to deliver a trip to the NBA Finals for either team?
