Vote: Who is at fault in the speed skating feud?

 Shani Davis
Did gold justify Shani Davis' choice?
Is the feud between Shani Davis and Chad Hedrick as much about black and white as it is about the silver and bronze they won, respectively, in Tuesday's showdown?

Bode Miller couldn't beat the gates, Michelle Kwan couldn't beat her groin and Lindsey Jacobellis couldn't beat karma, but the biggest American battle of the Winter Olympics may be the feud between speed skaters Davis and Hedrick.

Things originally heated up when Davis passed on the team pursuit, a new event in the Winter Olympics, and Hedrick publicly criticized him for not being part of the team. For his part, Davis said his first obligation was focusing on his individual events, and he proceeded to win gold in the 1,000-meter race.

But in winning that race, Davis also became the first African-American athlete to win an individual gold medal in the Winter Olympics. And as the story has played out in the press, it has become clear that Davis, who trains on his own in Canada, hasn't always felt comfortable in the mostly white skating community in the United States.

So what do you think about the small feud and the bigger picture, SportsNation? Did Davis fail as a teammate? Is prejudice still at play in American sports? And are the Winter Olympics tainted by a lack of color, as some critics claim?
