Vote: Best pitching acquisitions?

 Barry Zito
Will Zito be the Giants' ace?
In a league desperate for pitching, teams searched high and low for even a hint of talent.

Some teams looked across the ocean, with Boston and New York both signing highly-regarded Japanese starters. Other teams barely went across the street, with the Giants plucking Barry Zito from the nearby A's. Only one thing remained constant; pitchers were paid a premium, perhaps more this year than any other.

$126 million for Barry Zito? $55 million for Gil Meche? $51 million just for the right to talk to Daisuke Matsuzaka? That's serious money being thrown around, for sure. While pitching contracts weren't as huge as those given to position players this year, one could argue that some of these hurlers aren't worth the cash.
